Considering that you're no more than a few months old and you never made anything before this, I'd have to say you should turn this from "made" ship to one thats "under development". Not to mention that SSD's are old news.........

My goliath will be 17.5 km in length, or the size of the Eclipse, which was twice as big as the Executor

to avoid questions about godmodding, i will also say it is scheduled to be done within 30 years

If a guy who is a month older than you can't do it, what makes you think anyone would accept you making a ship twice as big?

Freakin' n00bs

Ah, the Eclipse. If I were to go future tech, that would be my flagship.

We are currious as to how you can afford to maintain and run this vessel, let alone afford to build it. Also we like to know who was your supplier of materials so we may contact them with possible offers.[/code:1:f2de7a12d2]

OOC: Sigh, doesn't anyone do modern tech anymore? I remember when I got yelled at for bringing the OICW into my RPs. Hell, I'm just now starting to construct a spacestation with my allies.

Besides, I'd still like to see Starwars style spacecraft shrug off a fusillage of nuclear missiles. They'd be a drifting hulk before you could say "Lazers aren't visable to the naked eye."

But I degress. Good luck and godspeed with your spacecraft. And may the force be with you. And hay, if folks can own spaceships like that, I can't argue if a 2 month old says he can build one. Besides, at least you're a Star Wars nerd and not one of those damn trekkies!

Rest In Peace Chewbacca! Rest In Peace Anakin Solo! Rest In Peace Ganner, you were the coolest Jedi ever!

OOC: Star Wars...I dont particularly like SW, I use some of their ship pics occasionaly 'cause I cant modle in 3D, but I prefer Total Annihilation meself.

A fighter couldn't, but anything from a mon cal cruier on up could. Since, you do realize that proton Torpedoes are basically mini nukes, except more powerful?

Besides, if we are doing star wars tech, go Suncrusher. Indestructable.

OOC: Okay...maybe i'm too small to have a SSD, but i just love SW...and therefor i must have a SSD. It's like a smoker and he needs a ciggarette.

IC: Slagkattunger- We have funded the building of Osiris for about 40 years. As it stands in the text, we do only use this huge ship in special missions to keep the costs down. Our suppliers was almost everybody in the Imperial Alliance....(my friends).

Even with only one vessel, imagine its size. Imagine feeding 300,000 people! Even if they're conscripted (thus allaying paying the crew), there's still the fact of maintenance! You have to get food to 300,000 people, three meals per day. You would need kitchens to cook the food and giant mess hals for them to eat in. You would need to have things like giant laundromats just to keep the clothes clean! There's a lot more crew related issues, but you get the idea

Alright, so maybe you manage to keep the crew fed, healthy and happy. What about maintenance? You would need to keep a steady supply of spare parts going to the vessel, not just for itself but for its Air Wing. Then there's the problem for ammunition in terms of proton torpedoes, concussion missiles, energy coils or whatever they use for turbolasers and ion cannons.

Then there's the fact that sometimes, just sometimes, you need to put the entire ship into drydock for repairs to the hull, swapping out equipment, all the way up to taking out and installing new engines. And even if the ship is at anchor, you'd still need to keep about half to a quarter of the crew aboard to keep everything running and maintained, which still reduces, but does not eliminate, all the various issues I pointed out.

And you've only got one behemoth. What's it going to be used for? It's too big and unweildy against pirates, isn't it? It can't exactly go on spying missions as it ah, happens to be bigger than the ships of most sane space faring nations. And if you did go to war using this one big ship, a dozen nations with a dozen small ships will find breaks and chip away your one big ship and you're left with nothing.

Scrap the project, start off with something like the "Dreadnought" class for starters, work up to "plain" Star Destroyers then build this when you're a lot older.

Yeah.....but some people do like Sci-fi and want Super-Heavy Uber Mega Hyper lasers. Ever seen a M1A2 Abrams in starwars? Stormtroopers using Ak47's? Spock with a Glock 17?
