Regional Satelite Launched

Langham

Long ago, Langham launched its first shuttle. Today, a satelite has been launched from Space Port Alpha in Central Langham. The satelite is being used for the security of the region we live in, The Pacific Islands. Plans for a space station and a small fleet has also been announced. The satelite, fleet, and space station will be owned by the region as a whole.

Thank to new Ninjaon, specifically P4lladian, technology, construction of the region's orbiting space station/colony should take less time. Instead of shipping fabricated material up, raw material can be sent up at a lesser cost and in a shorter time frame. The raw material would be converted into carbon nanotubing by the affectionately termed 'Doodads' ( http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2599077#2599077 ) also allowing for stronger structures. The space station/colony will be attached to the three orbital platforms owned by myself, Hachimenreirou, and Ewig Stolz. This would allow a permanent establishment to launch space exploration from. The small fleet is merely for defense.

The 15 states in the High Council of The Confederacy of Wyndawâith, after much debate, agreed to covert our current orbital weapons development program toward construction of the orbiting platform.

The Wyndawâith program consisted of several orbital shuttles designed for transporting material into high orbit. Confederate scientists at the University of Thûrashor believe that cost of converting the Wyndawâithrim shuttles to transport material for the orbital space station / colony, as yet unnamed, should be minimal.

The Councilor of Æthíjhon State argued successfully that this cost could be deferred by shifting the Confederate budget away from our import of syndicated reruns of “Happy Days” and “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.” The council agreed 14-1. The one dissention came from the Councilor from Koralad State, who confessed that his constituents have a collective crush on 29-year-old actress Alyson Hannigan, although more for her role as "Jessie Mills" in the 1988 film, "My Stepmother Is an Alien" than for her lengthy role as Willow Rosenberg on “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer”.

It was agreed that twelve of these 16 shuttles will begin launching construction material and labor personnel from launchpads throughout Æshikór and Khallith states in short order. In deference to the people of Koralad, the flagship shuttle will be rechristened “CWS Hannigan,” written “Hánnigæn” in the Wyndawâithrim tongue. At the point in the debate, the Senator from Borâith State demanded that the second shuttle be rechristened “CWS Fonze” (written “Fânzeé” in Wyndawâithrim) which also passed unanimously.

Celebrations began early this morning to celebrate the completion of the Pacific Islands' new Confederation Class Capitol Ship, called the 'Noraneko'. This is the current pride of our space fleet, considering it is the only space ship we currently have, except for a couple of hundred space fighters (I-Wing Vipers). Construction has begun on two Hades Class Quick Strike Cruisers, yet to be named. Completion is expected in 3 RL days.

An unexpected delay in construction caused by a conflict I am currently involved in has set back the completion of the Lightning Class Quick Strike Cruisers (reclassed due to new armaments) until today. The two cruisers were named the Ares and Orion. Our defense fleet has been completed for the time being. Further additions will be added after completion of our space platform.

In other news, a recent pact with the Ninjao region will allow them use of our research platform. Details can not be revealed at this time.

Side Note: Due to upgrades the Noraneko has been reclassed as a Dreadnought Class Capital Ship.
