Big Long Now

Twelve hours ago in the rather large town of Kurdt, Beltal, a dirty bomb detonated and sent a large cloud of invisible radiation into the skies, triggering emergency evacuations in a 500 mile radius of the detonation site. The Red Cross of BLN has set up emergency shelters outside of the evacuation areas, and all hospitals outside the areas have been prepared to expect the worst, moving all non-critical patients into hospitals that are not expected to recieve too many victims. All highways leading to the evacuation areas have been sealed off except for military transports and citizens going out of the evacuation areas. Hundreds are assumed dead and the toll is expected to rocket within the next 72 hours.

In the last year there has been an unexpected rise in anti-government factions that have commited small acts of violence. The Roundlake Terror Faction has claimed responsibility for the detonation of the dirty bomb, but how they got the materials to construct one is still unknown.

President Richard Evan has dispersed 200,000 troops around the nation to begin the hunt for the head of the RTF, Samuel Jensen, but captured members say that Jensen planned to flee the country after everything was set in place, but word on which country has not been revealed, or even known.

President Dillon, at the report, dispatched three transport helicopters filled with personell to the radiation-blighted town of Kurdt, to begin searching for survivors. Hazmat suits were brought as standard issue in this situation.

Publicly, President Dillon pledged his support for BLN in it's time of need in the form of blood, radiation treatment schemes and mechanisms, and medical staff. The military tribunal has also agreed to send forces if the need arises.
