600,000 People Executed in Magnus Valerius

Magnus Valerius
15-01-2004, 07:31
After the withdraw of external support to the rebellious states in Magnus Valerius, the Imperial Armies managed to overrun the rebels and their strongholds. The uprisings in the Mines were quelled. The guns of The Fortress of Valeria fell silent. Orissa was sacked and razed to the ground. Then, Emperor Alexander returned from his cancelled meeting with the bigwigs of Wexico. It was time for him to dole out punishment to these thorns in his side.

The Emperor gazed out onto the killing fields with dark, sunken eyes. The rebellion and the current crisis with that worthless wench Queen Romilia in The Burnsian Desert had given the leader little time to sleep - and it plucked a string of oddity within him. He was cold. No longer did he care about the people. His family and his guns were his only retreats now, since he can not trust anyone as much as he used to. On the killing fields, gas chambers were constructed.

As the emperor strode onto the field, with the recently promoted Archduke Bastilus and a few guards, he came face to face with the person who started this entire civil war. It was a baron by the name of Felix Moustaka, who even dared so far to proclaim himself emperor of the empire! Alexander filled with rage, his blood boiling over. It was inevitable that something drastic was to take place.

Summoning his saliva and mucus, the emperor spat a wad of disgusting viscous oral and nasal fluids on Felix. Then, stepping back, he took a rifle from Bastilus. Aiming at the center of Felix's forehead, the emperor began trembling with pent-up anger. Felix sweated profusely, and he knew the end was coming; ironically, Alexander was also in a heavy sweat. It was a good 66 years of life, being the top baron in the Pasgrave Council for countless years. The last words Felix heard was the mutterings coming through Alexander's gritted teeth. "Rot in Hell, you Bastard!"

With those words, Alexander pulled the trigger, sending a round straight through Felix's head at point-blank range. The skull shattered, sending bits of skull and brain tissue as organic shrapnel all over. Blood splashed unto Alexander all over his chest. The limp body of Felix collapsed to the ground, but the corpse's torment was not yet done. Alexander began beating the dead body with the butt of his rifle. An unknown furor that had never been seen residing inside of the emperor was now amok. The body became mangled, denatured from its original form. With a final gesture, the emperor stomped his boot on the head of the corpse, making a sickening crack. The blood and gore from his head was now imprinted on the soles of the emperor's boots. Trying to regain his breath from the temperamental rage in which he assaulted the body, Alexander turned to Bastilus and nodded. Bastilus called for the firing squads to line up. Along this line which the baron resided were the other treacherous barons.

"On the charge of treason," Bastilus spoke out aloud, "I sentence all of you to death!" Then, the firing squads took aim and fired. It was almost in unison: squadron fired all at once, and the bodies fell to the ground at nearly the exact same moment in time.

Already, 10,000 people were dead. Next, came a prisoner train full of citizens of the city of Orissa. Soldiers prodded these men, women, and children down into the gassing areas. The emperor watched from a distance of 100 yards. Then, turning to Bastilus, he issued his final command for death.

"Their mothers brought them screaming into this world, and now, we shall watch them scream as they leave it. Make sure the mustard gas is at full potency. And get me a new pair of boots."

The archduke ran back to the imperial coach to retrieve another pair of boots for Alexander while the 590,000 people were crammed into the gas tanks. The glass was clear and unhindered so the emperor could see these traitors to Valeria die in agony unhindered. The preparations were made. The tanks were filled with people. The entrances were locked. Then, the hideous gas poured in. Immediately, the victims began to choke and cough. Within a minute, some were wailing and screaming in such great amplitude, but the outside world was protected from this symphony of 590,000 screams in unison. Many began to cough up blood and organic tissues as their lungs turned to mush. The soldiers laughed in glee, and the emperor smiled with gratification. Within the span of an hour, 600,000 had died.

Bastilus returned with the emperor's new boots. The emperor removed his blood-stained black boots for his new polished ones.

"Burn the bodies and these boots. We also must dismantle the chambers."

The emperor left, with the same cold, dark look in his eyes. However, he knew that his closest enemies were gone for good, and that he can refocus on the plans to exile the millions of citizens of the Rebel Countries into the harsh deserts or straight into the sea. All must be dealt with ferocity, otherwise they will strike like adders once again, thought the emperor.

The soldiers began their work on destroying the evidence of what had occurred here. But, this heinous act began to leak out to the International Community.

The President at down in his comfy armchair, with his glass of whiskey when the phone rang,

"Yes, what is it?", he asked, slightly annoyed.
"Sir, turn your TV on to channel 56" replied the voice.

He turned on his television and turned it to channel 56, where news reports of the humanity atrocities in Magnus Valerius were being reported.

"I'll get back to you..." said the President, hanging up the phone.

He stood there for several minutes, in awe of what was being reported on the TV before him...

In a few days, Emperor Alexander was back in his comfy chair in his office. The clock was ticking ominously in the background; all was silent. The emperor had a form before him that will murderously end the small independent nation of Orissa. It was a warrant to send in the 1st Army to drive all of the remaining people in that locale into the ocean. If they resisted, they will be shot.

His eyes were red. An empty vodka bottle was hiding in one corner. With a firm signature, he had just signed the deaths of 9,400,000 people. Bastilus entered the room, stammering and trembling. He was beginning to fear the dreadful presence of the once caring and compassionate emperor. How could he have changed so drastically? Either way, Bastilus took the order and wired it to General Karagiannis of the 1st Army.

"What? We are to kill the Orissans?" shouted the general, as he received his orders. That was a lot of people, even more than the army. But, they had no guns. To send millions of people to certain death was intimidating. Even so, Karagiannis did not want to disobey his orders, on fear that he will be killed personally by the emperor. The army rode in on horseback and began to round up every man, woman, and child that can be found. Babies and small children were crying. Grown men began weeping. They were all forced into a march into the Kortanian Ocean. Thousands resisted, but they were beaten, shot, or slashed to death. Eventually, the entire city-state of Orissa was cleansed from its denizens. 9,400,000 people were added to the 600,000 who were already dead. A total of 10,000,000 have died in the purges so far, with 50,000 soldiers wounded in the operation.

Back in Valerius Prime, a storm had brewed up. Overlooking the capital city in the pouring rain from his window, Alexander thought of the embargos just issued against his country.

"Those bastards in Lauda and Auman cannot believe what I have gone through! The Orissans and their supporters must pay for treason!"

The emperor walked away from the window. A flash of lightening lit up his dark chamber. After that, a small candle kept a miniscule amount of light at his desk. He was to plan on how to contend with the supporter nations... those treacherous colonies.

"Sir!" said an aide, rushing in the room of Emperor Vahn, "10 *deep breath* million people have been killed by Magnus Valerius *deep breath* a whole country, m'lord!"

"Genocidal maniac.....thats what he is...this cannot be tolerated....What actions have other nations taken?"

"Well sir, we have some embargos, no military action as of yet."

"Lets make a stance on this. His troops are tired, demoralized, and probably a little sickened. They will not last long in a fight. I cannot believe that any general would not think twice about an order to kill 10 million people, he must be disgusted with himself, wishing to bring justice in some way to himself...this is our chance!" Emperor Vahn said calmly. "Yes...yes...move the 3rd and 4th armies in. I want them para-droped on the shores of where this genocide took place. Move the fastest ships we have to the oceans to see if any are left alive, and send the 2nd and 3rd fleets to begin a cruise missle bombardment on the troops. Have them launch the long range missles at the maximum range at the troops who commited the genocide. Make sure its a good 20 minutes before the troops arrive so that they will be even more so demoralized. Keep the ships moving and have them fire at the capital. Any casualties are acceptable...however direct fire at the palace and at goverment buildings."

"Yes m'lord, anything else?"

"Give the drop ships 300 F-16 and 250 F-22 guards. Send 10 Tiger subs as guards with the ships, and I want a total of 50,000 men on those ships, have them move in as soon as they can."

"Yes sir, armies will be ready to deploy in 25 hours (30 RT min)!"

"Excellent, have 500 armored units on standby, and 200 artillery pieces."

"Yes sir!!!!!"

3rd Army-250,000

People! People! There is a logical answer for this! Surly war is not the answer! Over half a million have died! How many more do you want to kill to maintain peace? War is not the answer to this! besides imagine a group and kids hitting you with small sticks hard while you try to sleep, now imagine that 10000 times harder! That is what it must be like for this leader! He has been fighting rebels! They are traitors! They got what they deserved!

Now what would you do with a spy against you that you caught? You would kill him right? The USA does, now spies are traitors so these rebels where traitors right? So the right punishment would to kill them right? Now I don't agree on how they died but you shouldn't go and attack him for just killing off bunch of traitors!

But I don't agree on exile the families, some of them cant help it! Imagine your husband one day out of no where decides to go fight against the government, you try to stop him but he wont listen and now it ends and your husband is dead and your taking care of the kids and then you get exile into the desert! Well that’s just great isn't it? I say that you just boot them from your country into another, I am happy to take in some of the families!

IC:

The emperor was very keen. He knew that if the general public figured out of the incidents, they would be shocked. Only General Karagiannis and Archduke Bastilus might stand against him. The insane emperor got the feeds from his scouts - other nations were mobilizing for intervention.

"They dare march unto mine soil? Pah!" he said, with a Hamlet-esque air. The play by Shakespeare was one the the emperor's favorite. Yet, the book was thrown aside. No longer did Alexander find pleasure in reading. He needed to avenge those who tried to remove him, the rightful emperor. Archduke Bastilus entered silently into the room. The emperor's ears perked up at the sounds of boots slightly treading the carpet.

"Bastilus."

"Y-Y-Yes, your majesty?"

"I believe we have another issue of some idiotic nations attacking us. Why, some might not understand that these people we are killing are traitors. They are also a religious majority - Greek Orthodox. They are not like Jews, who make up around 15% of our country at this time. They also aren't Elves. We should get some support from these groups." The emperor turned towards the window to view at the burgenoning Jewish community that lied directly on the western road of the palace and onwards in Valerius Prime; the sector had increased from 1,000 to 7,000,000 inhabitants since the industrial boom began in 1869. Currently, there was a market day and a large swag with Aramaic upon it was proclaiming the greatness of the emperor. Austrians and Frenchmen, too, came from their old 'kingdoms' of Baden and Nice to find jobs as civil servants or factory workers. And, those ever-so cunning elves have finally begun to spread out across the empire from their homeland in Vedui.

"Yes, the Jews, Elves, French, Austrians... they are the key."

The emperor turned away from his door upon the outside world and headed towards his desk. He hastily poured himself a shot of vodka and gulped it down. The alcoholic drink was soothing to him. Now, Prince Alexander, the emperor's son, was out looking to court a princess in foreign nations. If he were unsuccessful in courting Princess Widow, maybe the emperor could set his own son up as a propoganda piece by finding him a minority bride. Who cared if the future generations of House Vassilakos would have bah mitzvahs, pointy ears, or names such as Franz or Jacques or Jozef or Jean-Baptiste. He could use that minority connection to his advantage - creating a huge bond between the entire nation and all of its citizens. He needed it to recoup - and to guard against other nations.

"Archduke Bastilus, open all the recruiting offices and tell the navy and Imperial Air Force to mobilize for war. Make sure the air defenses and artillery are prepared in each city as well."

As Bastilus bowed out to perform his duties, the emperor's telephone rang frantically. He walked calmly over and picked up the receiver. With a calm resolve, he spoke to whomever was on the other line. That brutal beating of Felix Moustaka might have cooled him down...

"...Hello?" he said as he talked through the phone. It was the leader of Neoluna on the other end... who knows what he would do?
Iansisle
16-01-2004, 08:42
Sir Richard Tri stood silently outside the old Admiralty building watching the sun as it rose over Ianapalis' smoke stacks. There was a light breeze blowing from the south-west, bushing away the distant traces of soot and replacing them with the sweet of smell of the sea. His thoughts drifted briefly across the fact that the relaxing smell was actually uncounted millions of sea animals decomposing, but they refused to stay there.

A quiet moment was difficult to come by in Ianapalis, especially standing the shadow of the massive stone tigers that guarded the enterence to the Admiralty Building's compound, but it was early. Only a few motor-cars puttered across the intersection of Empire and Gallaga streets and the massive cranes of Ianapalis' dockyards.

The Grand Admiral took a quick puff on his cigar, letting the taste of fine Gallagan tobacco overpower the sea air. Maybe he should just retire; run far, far away from the Navy and public life. The thought was quickly banished from his head. James had threatened to do that more than once, but his friend always seemed to find the internal strength to keep going. And damn it, the Shield needed him, now more than ever. He was the First Sea Lord of one of the most powerful battlefleets of its time period, guiding Iansisle's best defensive force through the most destructive war yet known.

We'll have peace someday, the aged naval officer thought, glancing over the dark blue water of Adien Bay. And then I can settle down in Shadorantown or Westergate and live out my few remaining years in a quiet environment. Even if Ellen will never be there again. The very thought of his deceased wife was enough to make his heart and head start hurting. Some day, Sir Richard thought, I may be able to remember her for her glorious life, not her death. And what a day that will be!

He was already starting to feel chilled despite the cigar. Ianapalis wasn't known as one of the world's warmest cities, and standing in a tiger's shadow at dawn probably wasn't the brightest of ideas. As a matter of fact, being the First Sea Lord came with certain privileges, such as being able to smoke in his office. But inside, there were all sorts of pressing concerns; he wouldn't be able to get three steps inside the door without Conroy or Mayfield appearing to grab a hold of him. The prices one paid for power!

----

As it turned out, Tri was more right than he could imagine. It was two steps inside the Admiralty Building's doors, as a matter of fact, when he bumped straight into the senior Captain who served as Chief of Operations for the entire Royal Iansislean Navy. Apparently, Conroy had just been on his way out to search for Sir Richard, and considered the fact that Tri was heading back in of the utmost convenience.

"We've a note from Jameston, sir," the younger officer said crisply, snapping to attention and handing a brief telegraph note over. Tri grunted and unfolded the message briefly. The Admiral knew Conroy could hardly contain his excitement; any messages from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were usually important.

After letting Conroy stew for what he dubbed an appropriate length of time, Tri looked up and started paraphrasing. "Some two-bit nations are apparently assembling a massive invasion force without a proper casus belli - just some vague rumors of a possible genocide - and the government's sending a harsh rebuke to all involved. They want to know what sort of forces we have in the area to ensure that the sovereignty of the first country isn't violated."

"What's the country, Admiral?" asked Conroy, already running through a mental list of free R.I.N. assets. There weren't many.

"Magnus Valerius," replied Tri, "near the Kortanian Ocean."

Conroy frowned. "I'm not sure if we have anything in that area, and if we do, it won't be much bigger than an Aegean. I'll check, though."

This behavour is unacceptable. Cease your actions at once, MV, or pay the price. WWI tech is no contest to our modern military. You have gone too, far Mr. Valerius. We demand that you turnyourself over for trial in a fair international court of law to answer for your crimes and your abuse of power costing the lives of thousands of your citizens. An aerospace plane is on the way to ferry you safely to a neutral nationstate.

If you refuse we will open fire destroying your military and your ability to police your nation. We will destroy all institutes currently being used by your forces and facilitate the invasion and occupation of your nation by an international force that will in the end stop nothing short of your unconditional surender or your death. And I cannot gauruntee they will deal fairly with you when they arrive. Your rule is as good as over - spare your nation the pains of war and further bloodshed, we all know in wars like this the innocent suffer the most no matter how hard we try to prevent it. I know you have it in you to do the right thing - think of the future of your nation.

The Therapon Protarchon addressed the Commonwealth today in response to the recent genocide on the part of Magnus Valerius. The following is an unedited broadcast of his speech.

"Friends, Poloi, Aristoi, and the brave soldiers of our nation, you have all seen the shocking evidence of genocide. Emperor Magnus Valerius has gone too far in his murders of men, women and children who have not taken up arms against his government.

His response is irrational. His response is immoral. His response is utterly counter to everything our great Commonwealth holds dear.

His response will be his undoing.

Brave soldiers, you have trained long and hard in such Spartan conditions. You have learned to administer justice fairly, to keep the peace and prevent irrational behavior from destroying the balance of civilization. You have been our guardians, our police, and our most stalwart strength. Though your weapons are few and of poor quality, your training and discipline is legendary.

It is with that in mind that I am ordering the immediate mobilization of all able-bodied personnel for an peacekeeping mission. You are to arm with riot gear. In the forthcoming hours the Commonwealth will seek an agreement with one or more of the combat nations to transport you to the battle zone after Magnus Valerius has fallen.

Long live Reason!"

In other news, the Protarchon has sent out a formal proposal to all allies in the action against Magnus Valerius to relieve them of peacekeeping duties after the defeat of the Emperor. According to our Aristos informant, the proposal asks for transportation to and from the country that will soon be overrun by overwhelming force.

This is what happends when a coalition doesnt ellect a strategic central command for the entire operation. Everybody goes in and does what they think should be done, and they end up steping on eachothers feet.

Hmm.... I won't like RPers with all their space craft and uberorbitalbomberslol and such - especially since Magnus Valerius is an Industrial Age/WWI Era country with the same technology and idealogical thinking. But, oh well. We'll shoot you down with Big Berthas. ;)

And, since my country's in the WWI mindset, we won't hesitate to use chemical agents. :?

The Gods have come to Magnus Valerius huh? Its not our fault you choose to live in the past. So what if we are a 100 years ahead of you technologically - human live still has value that cannot be steped on in any time if there are people who can stop it.

"Watch the civilians on that coastline. If the army makes another move burn em. I repeat you have authorization to open fire. We are going to take a hostile movement of that Army as an official response from Magnus Valerius himslef," Director Bentus.

"Very well, juice up the guns and tell the fleet to load torpedo tubes," Fleet Captain Helicon said. "And have the strike division down there prepared to be redirected once thier situation is resolved."

I wish to offer you a hand, a hand that wishes to pull you out of the waters that threaten to engulf you. Too much life has been lost. Can you imagine watching your son die slowly and painfully beside you? I have no doubts that your people do have love for you. I wish to make sure that that love stays. Please, show compasion for your nation and the lives that have been taken. You are a leader, and I beg you to control your rage. It is our curse, to be leaders. Let me lift this curse from you. Come to my land and give up your posistion as Emperor. I will protect you from an international court. I will allow you to live out your days in peace. Let the history books remember you as the man who cared so much for his people that he gave up all his power to save them. I beg you to stand down. I do wish to save lives. But I must also take an eye for an eye. Should you use chemical gasses on my troops, I will be forced to lauch a nuclear weapon at your capital. I will choose the smallest one possible, however the death toll will still be very high, and will continue to rise for 25-50 more years. Please do not use these weapons.

"We have reports pouring in from everywhere, Minister," shrugged Edwards, "It's not looking like anyone has any intention of even trying to pursue a peaceful resolution or even giving the Valerii government time to respond to any ultimata. They're just blazing in, all brawn and no brain."

"That's ludicrous," sighed Sir Archibald S. Hughes, Iansisle Minister of Foreign Affairs. The aging Shieldian fumbled about with a Walmingtonish fountain pen. "Have any of them even tried to justify the war outside of the fact that some civilians, not even their nationals, may have been killed?"

"Not that I know of, Sir Archibald. Seems to be a bunch of Yankee-inspired 'he's an evil man, and it's my God-given right to play police man of the world' bull-plop."

Hughes scoffed. "How typically uninspired. Have you spoken with the Prime Minister, Edwards? It seems as though the fools don't intend to back down from this one."

"Briefly, Minister. What with the tenuous situation on the floor, it didn't seem Mr. D'Carlonia had much time to spare for foreign affairs."

"I see. Well, then Edwards, it would appear that we're on our own. Has the First Sea Lord gotten back in touch with you yet?"

"Yes, sir. Grand Admiral Tri informs me that we've not much in the way of naval assets in the area - I believe 'just a leaky old light cruiser' were his exact words. He says we can have a proper heavy cruiser group in the area within a week or two if it's absolutely needed, but they're covering a large convoy to Nusheld right now."

"Very well. Edwards, I want you to send Sir Richard a message. Tell him that we'll presently be issuing a guarantee of Magni Valerii freedom, and that we want the navy to be prepared to enforce that issue to the utmost degree. We can't let aggression like this go unchecked. Then type up that issue, including an offer for mediation, and make it clear that the Shield will support any country's right to set domestic policy, and get D'Carlonia to sign it." He considered for a moment. "And then get in touch with Commonwealth Relations. We're going to need all the Dominions to be in on this one."

First of all, we do not wish to use WMD, we will however in retaliation to ANY strike of that sort. It would kill hundreds of thousands of troops if not more should they not be prepared.

You are a hypocrit. You talk about saving the lives of people and then demand that any attempt to end this war logically to end? You are a fool. His people like him, have no doubt. They will fight, and they will die. You want to save lives, then take a little and give a little. International courts are a mistake. By simply allowing one man to go free, you will save hundreds of thousands of lives. Their death was not in vain though. Because they fought, they will earn the freedom from one of the most evil people ever.

We have made a promise, we have made oaths. We will not forsake those oaths and promises. We will die fighting for our honor, and we will make it as costly for you. The only way for victory to be achieved when you attack me, is to murder ever last person.

Now tell me....are you willing to do that? Besides, we haven't recieved an answer.

"I suppose it's addressed to us, Minister," shrugged Edwards, handing over a brief transcript of the general transmission picked up by. Hughes scanned it briefly, concentrating on the descriptions of the murders.

"Tragic, I'm sure, but hardly relevant. Though, I'm confused by this part here...'under the direct orders of Magnus Valerius.' Are they personifying the entire nation? Or is Magnus Valerius also the name of some sort of legislative body that I'm not aware of?"

"Judging from their previous transmissions, Sir Archibald, it would appear that they believe that one 'Emperor Magnus Valerius' is the ruling monarch, rather than Emperor Alexander."

"Bloody poor intelligence gathering on their part, then. To think, people say we're slow on the international uptake; at least we bother to check for the name of a nation's monarch before we declare war." Hughes laughed quietly and Edwards snorted.

"What'll be our response, sir?" asked Edwards after a moment's quiet. The Minister of Foreign Affairs reclined in his chair with his eyes searching distantly.

"Tell them...tell them that are going to hold them personally responsible for the safety of all Iansisleans in Magno Valerio. Make sure that this Bentus character knows that any action taken against an Iansislean national, either deliberately or as a result of their unjust war, will provoke a violent response from the Empire of the Shield. And then get on the horn with Emperor Alexander as soon as possible. Tell him that we're sending a small fleet on a good-will tour of his nation, and that it would be our greatest pleasure if he would meet with the commanding officer - who's that, again?"

"Senior Captain Sir John Northrupt, HIMS Odysseus, minister. A hero of Salvador, none the less. He's also got the destroyer Lakeriverwood with him."

"If he would meet with Sir John, then. And tell the Admiralty to have Northrupt make port in Valerius at his soonest possible opportunity."

"You're going to gamble the lives of a light cruiser and a destroyer's crew on the good-will of a people who have already proven themselves to be aggressive to protect a genocidal maniac? Pardon my impertinence, sir, but doesn't that seem slightly rash?"

"Rash? Perhaps, but it's something that needs to be done. If we send the message to these morality police that it's perfectly fine to trample over another nation's sovereign right, where will that leave us? At the mercy of a coalition who objects to one of our policies." Hughes shook his head. "No, Edwards, we must take a stand against this sort of war-mongering here and now, no matter how much we may despise Emperor Alexander's methods."

The office was quiet for a couple of minutes. At last, Edwards cleared his throat softly. "Of course, minister. I'll get that message out to Director Bentus at once, and have Prime Minister D'Carlonia sign it again." The younger man stood and walked quietly from Hughes' office.

"And remind all parties that we're willing to host a conference to settle this!" Hughes shouted after him.

OOC:

Whew, got a lot to reply to...

IC:

The emperor grasped the receiver of the telephone as he was talking to the Neolunan leader. "You've got my name wrong - it's Emperor Alexander I, of the House Vassilakos. Do you want to create more bloodshed? I think so, but this blood will be shed by your soldiers!" The emperor slammed the piece down and ceased talks with Neoluna. He hastily filled another shot glass with vodka and drained the glass. He was becoming more nervous by the minute - there seems to be no one at the moment that are aiding him. However, it might be that these nations would not send in a lot of troops. That was to the emperor's advantage... the other nations would have logistics problems, while all he had to do was hold his ground. The defenses of the country were also nice - thanks to the civil war, trench and redoubt systems were abundant along the borders. Stationary artillery and ample amounts of AA cannons have been set up within the span of the civil war. However, these outer nations are coming in with 'nukes' and 'jets'... those things he could not comprehend.

A few days later, Emperor Alexander was walking his 3-year-old son, Nicholas, in the gardens of the Imperial Palace. Alexander was still losing sleep and his stresses are surmounting. Even though a collection of minor empires were moving in with troops, he knew that, with cunning leadership, they can be crushed. Nicholas watched troops and horsemen travel down the road. That was only one corps of the 1,000,000+ reservists that were being called up.

"Daddy, why are there so many uhlans?" said Nicholas, pointing towards the 1st Badenese Uhlan Division as it marched by. Their pompous outfit stood out from above the heads of the other soldiers.

"Why... there's a big problem that father needs to eliminate," replied the emperor to his son.

Indeed, these are the men that will guard the countryside from any surprise invasions from above. The AA cannons were aimed towards the serene blue sky, towering above the land like the smokestacks of Valerius Prime's many factories. Big Bertha positions were on the outskirts on the city - just a few (6) pieces, but their range was gigantic, able to strike an enemy army miles away. There were also long-range howitzers in more plentiful supply guarding the capital city and its 36,000,000 people.

Then, the sentries spotted three objects heading for the capital. They immediately sounded the alarm.

"Three aerial objects approaching the city at high speeds!"

The artillery began to use a "projectile shield". A barrage of shells were fired straight out towards the direction of these Tellirian missiles. There was not really any place for these foreign payloads to go, as the Valerian artillerists carpeted the sky with light explosive shells between the city and the missiles.

Then, the Tellirian fleet off the coast of Orissa came under the watchful eye of the Valerian Fleet. The captain of the Northwestern Imperial Fleet had the eyes and ears from the 1st Army and General Karagiannis, whom was forced upon the duty of slaughtering the civilians. Even if Karagiannis despised that act, he was fiercely patriotic and wanted to make sure these foreign devils who dared to infringe upon these righteous lands were to pay. HMS Kaiser and HMS Plantagenet, the two largest battleships in the fleet, stood ready and prepared to fire their guns. There were many other ships along with them, along with 24 U-Boats ready for deployment.

"We are watching you..." murmured Karagiannis from his field HQ. His army was scattered and hidden among the ruined city of Orissa, with their families brought from home as well. They needed to blend in and look as if only a portion of the city's population was expelled into the ocean, not all of it. It was the perfect defensive cover in case Tellirian invaded.

Meanwhile, in Valerius Prime, Emperor Alexander I was interrupted during his war plans with Archduke Bastilus, aging Admiral Benjamin Kouzof, and the young, intuitive Field Marshal Giuseppe Venizeli. A messenger busted into the meeting office with a note grasped in his hands. "Your Majesty, a message came in from the nation of Tellirian. Shall you read and respond, sir?"

"Yes, Daniel... Thank you." The emperor took the note from Daniel and excused the telegraph coordinator. Unfurling the paper, he read at the proposal offered by Emperor Vahn I. Alexander's breath paced up as he became incensed with reading the letter. Abdicate or die were the options only set up by this emperor! Why, all Vahn might desire is Magnus Valerius' hard-working populace and vast resources! The emperor removed a small bottle containing more liquor and took a swig. His hair was matted with sweat. Even if he was angry at the actions of these nations, he was nevertheless afraid of the future. What if they kill him and his family? He couldn't bear losing his youngest son, Nicholas. Nor, he could lose his son already at age to inherit the throne, Prince Alexander. His three daughters and his wife were also most valuable...

The emperor went into a small telegraph room, relaying a response to the Tellirian call for abdication.

Emperor Vahn I,

I understand your concerns about this sinkhole I have dug myself into, but I do not wish to abdicate. It will humiliate both of us - for it shows moralistic democracies triumph over monarchies like ours. I do, however, wish to offer you good will. Please, if you are unmarried or if you have a son that is of age... take my eldest daughter, Karen, who is currently 24. If for some reason I and my family is killed in this conflict, I wish for her to be able to keep our royalty going. Perhaps it may lead to the future unification of our countries... please have her and take care of her.

I assure you, if you land on our shores we shall open fire. However, unless you send only envoys, something else can be worked out.

Emperor Alexander I of the House Vassilakos

The emperor stepped out of the booth and headed back to the planning office with his three officials. He sat down on the comfortable loveseat again, its cushions made from fine and soft silk cloth, and played a phonograph. What was on it was Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem.

"Alright men, let's get planning. We've got to make sure our people are safe. That's the foremost plan. The latter is to arm the once-rebellious colonials with simple weapons. Swords, cheap muskets - what have you. The enemy will do our job for us, believe it or not."

As they were talking within the Imperial Palace, streams of strange material were spotted over the skies of the capital.

"Aerial attack!" shouted General Balbus. Theodoros Balbus was in charge of Valerius Prime's defenses. A siren began ringing, calling all AA personnel to be ready. The Jews in their marketplace scattered into their homes. The Badenese Symphony, which was currently playing pieces in the main stage of the city, silenced its instruments and sent its musicians into bunkers. Elven merchants immediately closed shop and kept vigil from the windows of their stores. Valerian, Italian, and Greek factory workers and clerks stopped in the middle of work to pray to God for protection.

The AA guns aimed up and fired high-explosive shells incessantly. They needed to make a blanket that covered the city. These artillerists had no fear of accidentally blowing up the city, as their shells were made by crafty Elven engineers. They had a timed fuse that was just right so that they would explode in air - but they still would explode on contact with any item they came upon.

On the borders of The Crown Empire Magnus Valerius, the 2nd Army encountered invasion forces from Dontgonearthere. The 2nd Army and its soldiers were about to engage. General Thomas Moustakas began to man the machine gun parapets in the trenches, and filled the ditches with riflemen. Artillery positions were supplied, and the cavalry units readied for a charge. The élan of these troops were high, and they were itching for a fight with the foreign invaders.

There were signs of attack in many spots.

Princess Karen was departing for Tellirian.

And, the good-will entourage from Iansisle was approaching Valerian shores.

Would Edwards make the call to report of the visit from the nation, the nation that Emperor Alexander has not yet heard word from on their support against the invaders?

"What....this makes no sense...ok, an order is an order. Have all troops stand in defensive postions. Tell the naval advancement units to hold their position."

"Yes sir!"

Meanwhile back in Telliria

"Sir, we have a vistor from Magnus Valerius; Princess Karen."

Emperor Vahn immediatly stood up. He gave her a quick glance over, and then nodded his approval.

"I have recieved the telligram from your father. After much thought about it, I have decided to arrange a marraige with one of my brothers, Prince Alexander Winfield. He is 26, so there is no major age diffrence. He currently is assesing our naval strength in the southern areas, however he should be back in a matter of hours. We are pleased that lives can be saved, and this problem solved diplomaticaly, as there was no honor in attacking someone who cannot properly defend himself against weapons that they have never seen before."

With this he gives a slight bow to the Princess and then turns to one of his aides.

"Send a message, all troops are to move out. Send word to Magnus that we are accepting his offer and are moving out. We will however be searching for survivors still. Their fate will be decided in Telliria, although we may return them to him. Also tell him that we can not fight against the coaltion because we do see his actions of killing all the people as wrong, but we will not fight against you. Also offer any noble that wishes it in his land assylum here. We are sorry to say that we can no longer offer you the protection of our land, but we will do what we can for your house. We wish you the best of luck, and may your fight with honor."

Captain Fenris picked up the phone. He wondered why the Tellirians hadnt attacked. The assault should had started by now. When the Tellirian commander answerd he shouted to him in rage. " Why are you not attacking? The plan says your assault should had startet now. Why are you not moving?"
"We have received orders who says that we shall seize fire."
"WHAT?? Why in .... You... COWARDS!!!!!!"
He threw the phone aside before the Tellirian could answear. Why did they refuse to attack? It had to be pure cowardice or treason. It didnt matter. He should fight without them. If they attacked, the others would problamy follow. He gave the order to move out. The enemy shores were looking unprepared.
20 000 men looked upon the country who maybe would claim their lives. As they moved closer everyone were praying silently.

IC:As I said you would kill a spy right? So spy's are traitors right? So rebels are also traitors and you would kill traitors no matter what the size is. There is no difference in killing one or two traitor or killing half a million traitors. They betrayed there country so they got what they deserved! If you wanted to save them why didn't you just support the rebellion? After all that bloodshed more bloodshed will not justify the deaths of those men! No matter how hard you will not help the matter any more! I think you people are just war hungry people who will use anything as a excuse to attack someone trying to show of your military!

Also unless you are right next to him you cant really even use airplanes because airplanes then did not have enough fuel to travel the distances you want them to. So he has advantage of air support.

OOC: If it's a matter of being restricted to WWI era weaponry, the soldiers of the Logarchy, if provided with transportation, will march, die, and overrun with WWI equivalents any day. That's about the level of military technology we can afford, despite being in the modern age- having a constitutionally massive military will squeeze out modernization budgets any day.

That said, he's already acknowledged higher-level technology as being present and valid in the forces arrayed against him, so the conversation is sort of moot- and the Commonwealth of the Logarchy will stay quite put given the inevitability of his destruction.

Ten million lives, certainly, but they were neither citizens of Iansisle nor NeoLuna. I fail to see how you plan to justify this blatantly agressive invasion of a sovereign nation.

Once again, Director, we reiterate that should any Iansislean nationals living in or visiting Magnus Valerius be injured or killed in this unjust war which you are making, the Grand Iansislean Empire of the Shield will have no recourse but to declare war upon your own nation. Tread carefully lest you tweak the tiger's tail.

Swallow Bank House, Walmington Street, Great Walmington, Walmington on Sea

PM Mainwaring and his long suffering deputy were discussing the latest, "gossip" from one of Walmington's, "nosey parkers" in allied Iansisle. Obviously this was the best way to get information not yet making the papers or directly communicated by Ianapalis, since SOW would certainly never spy on an ally.

Mainwaring, on completion of his reading, groaned slightly and replied to Wilson's glance with the words, "Sir Henry..".

The Deputy PM understood at once, of course. Sir Henry Chaspot Wayne, Hero of Waynesia, Tamer of Africa had not embarked upon much by way of an adventure for quite some time. Vexed by the shrinking and softening modern world, the Second Cape War veteran would jump at the chance to visit such a chaotic and technologically modest land as this Magnus Valerius.. and that was without consideration of the nature of charges laid against the monarchy, and Sir Henry's behaviour in tameing Walmingtonian southern Africa.

Chasshire House, Chasshire, Walmington on Sea

"Bruah!" Or similar came the bellow of consternation from deep within the vast study rooms of Chasshire House, where the air hang heavy with the memory of opiate and port, and the walls of safari and genocide.

Sir Henry boomed again, this time succeeding in drawing one or other of his footmen up from the servants' quarters.

"Outrage!" He started on the arrival of said footman.

"Would Sir like me to call the cellar boy?" Adnams replied, assuming naturally enough that his master's immediate supply of intoxicants had expired.

Sir Henry started to nod before remembering himself.

"Magnus Valerius!" He cried, causing Adnams to take half a step back in the face of such a vitriolic expletive as the knight had apparently invented.

"Call the man-at-arms! Send for a motor-cab!" Wayne demanded with a flailing of his arm. "And tell that damned Thunder-ten-tronckh to meet me at the aerofield!"

Sir Henry was bored, all the more so owing to his refusal by the army on the grounds of ill-health. Lungs not what they used to be? Inexplicable! Not only this but if the fancy-guns of the world were going to jump on every rumour of genocide then the Walmingtonian Empire and Sir Henry's career would have ended twenty years ago at Bulawayo. The possibility of Iansislian involvement only sweetened the deal, the ever less-able knight was more than keen to renew his celebrity in the Shield as it waned at home.

Within two hours Wayne was dragging his unfortunate travel-companion of choice aboard his private O/TMkI Acorn light transport plane. Seating himself in the cockpit beside the pilot, Sir Henry directed the words, "You're in the back, Alan!" towards Baron Thunder-ten-tronckh, who gingerly and sleepily positioned himself atop a crate marked Royal Small Arms .303" x 400. Hardly proper accomodation for one of his status!

"It's because of my damnable ridiculous name" supposed the most notable of Walmington's twelve citizens with misfortune enough to be called Alan.

Sir Henry's twin-engine wood and linen steed eventually dragged itself into the air and made for Magnus Valerius at little more than one hundred miles per hour. The pilot only hoped that this country had airfields, or at least the ability to engage in radio communication. If not then the crest of Chaspot and the Walmingtonian flag flickering above the cockpit would have to be sufficient to keep the trio from being shot-down.

I haven't replied 'cause I wanted Iansisle and Neoluna to make moves. It's to be fair, that's all.

And, I'm recognizing the fighters Neoluna has dispatched only because I can retaliate to them reasonably (since artillery can reach them). If I'm striked from 5 miles above with some orbital bomber or craft, that will be ignored. However, if you say I can't inflict any damage because your fighters are "uber-fast lol", then that's GODMODDING!

You have to understand that WWI tech is underrated and it still can compete with modern and perhaps future tech. :P

Princess Karen approached dressed in an off-white dress. A very fine glass tiara was donned around her head. Here cheeks were blushed, and she looked upon Emperor Vahn with her calm green eyes. He brown hair was tied back behind her face, but it flew freely down her back. "Hello, Emperor Vahn," she said with a curtsy. "My father had sent me unto you to find me a reasonable husband unless you are the one I shall be marrying."

Emperor Vahn sat there and had looked the princess up and down. The emperor seemed satisfied and told Karen of Alexander Winfield. Karen blushed, and knew that now her homeland was saved from at least one more enemy. "Thank you, Your Majesty. You really can't comprehend how happy I am - my father has been under so much stress... it makes me feel so good to think he has less worries." The telegraph from Telliria soon reach Valerian shores.

Also, a few survivors were found. There were around twelve thousand people adrift on flotsam and crates with meager water and liquor.

With a sigh of relief, it seems that Telliria was to pull out of the war. Alexander read the telegram at his morning tea with a tear in his eye. It seems Hapsburg politics still have sway in this world. "Bless you, my dear Karen - you are finally with a suitable man." He held the piece of paper against his heart as he let more tears flow from his eyes. However, his problems were not over. He went over to the telegraph coordinater and relayed a personal message to Emperor Vahn.

Dear Emperor Vahn,

I thank you for your wise move. It seems that things have not been going well with my life - from the barons plotting against me for my reforms to aid my people to this. It feels that sometimes I wish I were assassinated. I've been losing sleep, and I am afraid for my family, including my youngest one, Nicholas. He turned three only a month ago.

Now that Karen is to wed your brother, I assume I would be your relative now. I wish you a fruitful reign, good sir. As for Karen, may she bear as many capable sons and daughters as your brother Alexander wishes. It is kinda funny to be a father to an Alexander, and father-in-law to yet another Alexander. My son and heir is named Prince Alexander.

Well, best wishes to you, Emperor Vahn. I salute you. Your humanitarian efforts will go on unhindered.

Emperor Alexander I

With his message relayed to Emperor Vahn, it was time to concentrate on other going-ons. It seems that Aust had built up troops along the northeast border. The 2nd Army was already up there, and it was protected by multiple redoubts, trenches, artillery emplacements, and pillbox systems. It shouldn't be too tough - especially if another army or two were on the way to protect the border.

Alexander replied to Nanosoft's request to send in rangers. It was a green light, as he relayed a message to them.

"Dear Ruler of Nanosoft,

Your rangers are welcome in our country. Send them at once."

Eirikiania's 20,000 troops approaching the Valerian shores were met with no resistance, since the Valerian navy were occupied elsewhere. They approached a nice idyllic seaside town. A sign swinging lazily in the wind along a harbor boardwalk labeled this town as Port St. Charles. It was quiet. No one was out and about on the street. What the troops did not realize is, locked away in the houses from high rooftops and hiding places were civilians who have armed themselves to defend their country.

----

The airfield at Point Bragg was silent. Most of the planes that had remained here were off patrolling the skies to find enemy positions. The paved airfield was watched over by Sir Danmark, a local noble. He was the caretaker and owner of this airfield, which overlooked the sea. A row of hangars and a few buildings were to one side of this airfield. Danmark was startled from his cup of coffee and breakfast by some news from a messenger.

"Sir Danmark, some of our scouts have spotted a lone aircraft flying towards us at speeds of up to a hundred miles per hour. What shall we do? Shall we man the guns?"

The airfield caretaker took a deep bite into an apple pastry before responding with food still in him mouth and crumbs all over his thin beard. "Nof... don'd mam de guns." He forced down the slightly digested slew of starches and sugars down his throat. "Don't man the guns. If it were an attack, it would be more than one plane. In fact, I'll go out there to meet them when they land."

Sir Danmark drained his coffee cup and stuffed the rest of the pastry into his mouth before putting on his coat, beaver hat, and taking out his cane. It was chilly this morning, with frost still adhering to the roofs of the buildings. Sir Danmark walked out, still chewing the large portion of pastry in his mouth.

(sorry about the long reply time...my computer was giving me some trouble, so I had to get out my baseball bat and discuss terms like "proper respect" with it ;))

His Iansislean Majesty's Light Cruiser Odysseus was one of the most famous ships in the long, prestigious history of the Royal Iansislean Navy. Her participation in the Battle of Salvador, under still-captain and now-Knight of the Imperial Order John Northrupt, made her a legend; the valiant efforts of her sailors and marines in the Landings of Tharkold renewed her fame. Her image graced the Salvador monument alongside that of King James; her captain was perhaps the best known sub-flag naval officer on the Shield.

She was also one of the oldest ships in the fleet. The brief refit she had received after the sinking of the Capable or the hasty repair job after Tharkold couldn't hide the fact that she was nearly twenty years old and obsolete in modern times. Still, the coming of the war meant that the R.I.N. needed every ship it could get its hands on, and Odysseus - which had been a mere six months away from the breakers - was been given new life. Being outfitted with the latest in search radar and ASDIC, heavy enough to make anything short of a Deutschland think twice, but too slow for main fleet operations, the Aegean class of light cruisers formed the bulk of Iansisle's convoy protection system. Odysseus herself had been on a patrol searching for commerce raiders when her new orders had arrived.

To senior Captain Sir John Northrupt, those new orders were slightly confusing. Pulling a cruiser, even one as old as the Odysseus, out of the fight seemed the worst possible tactical decision. However, the orders had also come with the hint of a promotion to flag rank, something that made him take them seriously. Even if they were just to meet some feudal lord in a minor, far off country.

Northrupt ran a hand through his blond hair. Even if he was only thirty one, the continued thinning up top was a growing cause for concern. "Mr. Keeler," Northrupt said quietly, "have you made wireless contact with the Valerii officials yet?"

"Not yet, sir. We may not be in range. Regardless, I'm sure Foreign Affairs and the Admiralty has let them know we're on our way."

"We're just entering King William's Sea, skip," called Lieutenant the Honorable Charles Gaston, his navigation officer. "How shall I have helm make the course?"

"Take us to Trentino, Lieutenant," decided Northrupt. "Make turns for twenty five knots. And continue trying to get in touch with their costal patrols, Mr. Keeler."

Fenris and his men were in cover inside a wood. That town had been a trap. To late had he discovered the ambush. His men had been seriously routed. Nearly 1000 of his men were either dead, wounded or captured. Those villagers would pay a big price for attacking them. When the night came they would raze that village to the ground.

The plan had been to split up in small hunting packs and make a hit and run war against the enemy. But that plan could be changed. Revenge would be sweet.

(Where on your map are I at the moment? I cant find Port St. Charles.)

"Are you quite sure you know where we're going?" The Baron's meek inquiry, barely heard over engine noise in the cockpit, received no reply. "It's just that I'm pretty certain that ship was flying St.Patrick's.."

"Oh really now Thunder-ten-tronckh, do you remember flying over Canada? No? Then we're not in Iansisle, are we? Now for the love of God stop asking if this is Troobia and hold on to something.. my port, hold on to my port, we're landing soon."

As Sir Henry's private aircraft turned towards the airfield at Bragg the pilot belated engaged the radio in an effort to seek permission to land. Walmington's richest man was in no mood to mess around with trivialities like that however, and insisted that, "They won't mind, this is Bragg Point, not London! Take us in!"

And so they descended, the pilot joined by Thunder-ten-tronckh in frantic search for any other aircraft with which they may be about to collide. The former suffered significant distraction thanks to Sir Henry's refusal to help in winding-down the undercarriage.

Usually I have a co-pilot to do this, but noo, Wayne has to sit up front this time. At least I'm getting paid, what's that damned fool getting out of this? Thought the pilot with a glance back towards the young Baron.

Boats are approaching from the south now escorted by four squads(28 aircraft) of water based By-planes armed with two 24mm cannons in front and a tail gunner with one 14mm cannon. Along with the men are doctors too. The ships will land in Brag point and make treatment facilities for civilians. The government of The free Corporations of Nano Soft would like to ask all invaders to stay clear of Brag point because it will be a treatment center for civilians. A convoy of 2,000 men along with jeeps, trucks and couple tanks will go to Wilhelminus, St.valerian, Valerius Prime and Leda to evacuate any civilians who wish to not be killed in cross fire. The convoys will take everyone who wishes to leave and go to Bragg point.

At Bragg point there will be shelters and medical supplies along with food. The housing will be made up so sickness can not spread as easily as they would if everyone sleeps in one room. Each family will share a small 10 by 10 foot tent where they can sleep and whatever.

Other supply ships are on the way to reinforce the city with foods and medicine.

IC:

Emperor Vahn sat in his chair. It was late and he had ordered his guards to retire. His soon to be sister-in-laws face kept appearing, as well as the faces of the other soon to be in-laws. He turned on the monitor to look at the faces again. The faces that he knew whould soon be destroyed. They would be his family...but they did kill 10 million people...but his people defend their land...they do not wish to let him die...still such merciless killing...all these thoughts pounded through his head.

"Sir will you not sleep?"

"I will...you know, its painful. I have no idea what to do. Honor dictates that I should aid my family. They will fall without me. Yet it also tells me that this slaughter should be avenged...so what do I do?"

"Well, m'lord, we found some 12,000 people in the water. They will arrive shortly. Fleets are just now starting to enter MV water...unopposed..."

The Emperor was young. He had little experince with these matters. Still he had to make a decision. Being neutral would not cut it. His people would always back him, that was going to happen no matter what. He pulled back and put his head in his hands.

"Any nation can stand against the slaughter of rebels, but which one can stand up, against odds that could mean the destruction of their own country? Which one stands up for family in this new age? We will. Order the fleet to turn around. Attack any enemy ships that they encounter. Send 50,000 Tellirian troops to this Port St. Charles. Drop them via air! We now support MV!!!"

"Sir, I will inform the men!"

The aide rushed out and the Emperor put on a relaxed smile. Yes, this felt right. He then gathered his thoughts, and after awhile sent a telligram.

To Emperor Alexander I,

We will not watch you die. Tellirian troops are comming to your aide in Port St. Charles. We will act as your navy, and destroy these fools that pester you from the sea. I will personally see that your daughter escapes should the fight be taken to my lands, but this needs to be done. More troops will be sent as they are needed.

At the Point Bragg airfield the Walmingtonian adventurers struggled out of their little transport plane as the pilot looked for a signal on where to taxi.

Thunder-ten-tronckh started to ask why the pair had to disembark before the aircraft had been properly received, but stopped himself on consideration of his less than comfortable seating.

Sir Henry Chaspot Wayne was keen to stretch his legs and to begin taking in the atmosphere in this most interesting land. Over his shoulder he had slung before exiting the Acorn a .303" CAFMIR rifle and on his hip afixed a .455" MkII service revolver of his own design. The aircraft was weighed down with further examples, and even a couple of .303" automatic Camel Guns. God knows who Wayne bribed and/or got demoted to obtain them, but the hold also contained a crate of Leech Grenade anti-tank weapons.

As the plump and heavily moustached knight gazed about the immediate vacinity his companion attempted without success to extract from him useful information on their expedition.

And Aust, Fortress of Valeria is far away from the borders of Magnus Valerius. It's east of Frigben.

As Odysseus made its course towards Trentino, it came upon one of the capital ships of the Imperial Fleet, returning from what ruins were left of Orissa. It was the HMS Plantagenet. Sir Thomas Nathaniel-Argonne piloted the prestigious craft. The battleship was once led by Benjamin Kouzof, who is now Chief Admiral... and old. HMS Plantagenet gained its reputation after a naval battle with the fleet of some minor kingdom that is out at sea. The ship managed to sink 15 enemy destroyers, 4 cruisers, and 1 battleship. The very name of Plantagenet causes fear to those lucky enough to survive the encounter with the ship. Its guns pointed upwards, on alert that aircraft were seen heading towards the capital city. The Plantagenet and her crew spotted Odysseus, but Nathaniel-Argonne was smart enough to avoid confrontation.

"Relay a message of welcome and inquiry," he said from his helm.

A message was relayed to Odysseus.

Greetings,

We of the HMS Plantagenet have you in sight. I assume that you are not an invading ship from another small kingdom - only presuming that you hail from a worthless scrap of land, like those forces rallying against us! If your intentions are peaceful, then welcome to Magnus Valerius, good sirs! If you are headed to port, we shall relay a message to the port in which you are heading to.

Sincerely,
Sir Thomas Nathaniel-Argonne

Sir Danmark was still fumbling with the piece of pastry in his mouth as the plane that had been reported began to land on the airfield. The path was all clear for the plane, as all other aircraft had since departed to scout the borders and the seas. As the plane landed, it seems its riders were glad to exit from it; they emerged hastily. Sir Barnardo Danmark meandered over towards the adventurers, not minding the weapons they were already packing. Sir Danmark was accompanied by his assistant, Constantine Trellinius. As Danmark approached, he pawed at his moustache to search for crumbs, and soon the nobleman gazed upon the plump, moustached man with his guns.

"Welcome, Walmingtonians, to The Crown Empire of Magnus Valerius!" proclaimed Danmark. He tipped his beaver hat and bowed slightly. His sabre was on his belt, and several medals adorned his chest. "I am Sir Barnardo Danmark, the noble caretaker and owner of this, the Bragg Point Imperial Airfield." The nobleman then noticed the weapons that were visible on Sir Henry Chaspot Wayne before patting away some droplets of sweat. What were those for?

"Well... why do you grace our borders in this fine day?"

----

As Austian troops storm the countryside, they manage to take one border town. The troops are constantly met with evil eyes as the citizens are very suspicious on what these people would do. As the Austian troops poured over their maps to get a plan going, they never expected what was to come. Out of apparently nowhere, a grenade was hurled towards the soldiers, exploding on the ground before them. The thing was that no soldiers were anywhere near that town; they were ten miles away.

----

In Valerius Prime, everything is buzzing about attacks all over, and the visits from foreigners. The attack on Port St. Charles, the capture of the town of Boghatz, and the visiting Walmingtonians and Iansislians flew into the Imperial Palace. Emperor Alexander reviewed everything, and knew that somehow, things will work out. He watched the map, and knew that the Austians had to run into the front line sooner or later - and that line was held together with dozens of redoubts, forts, and trench systems. Also, the attack on Port St. Charles was turned away by the loyal citizens. Luckily, the 1st Army would soon reach Port St. Charles if things got ugly and if the invaders, who preached against genocide, would commit it themselves by killing townspeople.

Then, a telegraph coordinator arrived, distracting Alexander from his thoughts.

"Your Majesty! There's a telegram from Emperor Vahn I!"

"Hmm... Let me see it."

Emperor Alexander I unfurled the piece of paper and read the telegram. His soon-to-be-son-in-law was fighting for him! The Emperor shed a tear and smiled. What a good son-in-law he would be, and what a good emperor to send the care of his daughter to. The Emperor turned up towards the telegraph coordinator and dismissed him with a new message. It was to be sent immediately.

Dear Emperor Vahn I,

I thank you. We shall beat down these fools. I might call for retribution against them due to their unprovoked attacks, but you may or may not keep out of that conflict if I declare war and bring it up. I hope that Karen is well, and I hope to meet you soon.

Your future father-in-law,
Alexander Vassilakos

However, as that message was relayed towards the shore of Telliria, something sinister was to occur in the capital city. Allanean planes were encroaching upon airspace dangerously near the capital. They managed to fire 100 missiles, but the 550 planes soon came under attack by ground artillery from miles around. They needed to get them out of the skies! It was, however, too late, as the payloads headed towards Valerius Prime.

The artillerists spotted the red streaks in Valerius Prime a few minutes later, and aimed their guns. They fired at the objects rocketing towards the capital. They manage to shoot down a good amount of them, leaving only 15 - 15 that couldn't be hit in time due to readjusting of the AA guns - but 15 was still too much! The missiles were precariously aimed at many "supposed" government sites. 5 missiles hit synagogues while 7 others hit churches. All the worshippers and clergymen within the buildings were killed. Another 2 missiles pummeled an elementary school, which was near the Court Hall of Justice. Many schoolchildren were killed. That leaves the last missile, the one aimed at the Imperial Palace.

Empress Theodora was powdering herself in front of her vanity mirror. Behind her, Nicholas was playing with a wooden horseman with wheels attached to the hooves of the 'horse'. It was simple and modest, but it was his favorite. In the room next door, Princess Anna and Princess Ellia were practicing singing in scales on a grand piano. Outside in the hallway, Admiral Kouzof was being wheeled from his bedroom to the meeting hall to plan a naval defense. As Theodora removed herself to open the window to allow fresh air in her bathroom, her eyes filled with shock at the sight hurling towards her.

Emperor Alexander, on the other side of the palace and on the top floor, the 4th floor, felt the foundations of the palace tremble. Archduke Bastilus hustled from his breakfast room below and barged into Alexander's office. He struggled to regain his breath.

"SIRE!" he said, panting furiously. "Missiles have hit the palace!"

"...What? What?!" was the response that emerged from the shocked expression on Alexander's face. They ran towards the west wing of the palace on the second floor, where the missile had hit. Along the way, they saw Admiral Kouzof lying limp in his wheelchair, with the bloody body of his nurse on the floor beside him. As he was passing by, the shock from the missile explosion sent him into cardiac arrest. The Chief Admiral, the commander of The Crown Empire's Navy, was dead at 92.

Alexander bashed down the now flimsy cherrywood door and through the stone wall that protected the hallway. He was not ready to see what was on the other side. The once beautiful bathroom and dressing room of Theodora was now rubble. The marble tile was dust, the wallpaper was burned, the porcelain sink and the bath which the Emperor spent romantic times with the Empress was only shards. Near the door was Theodora. She was bleeding profusely, with shards of porcelain and glass embedded in her skin. She choked, as she coughed up blood, before saying her final words. She looked up at Alexander, her eyes becoming dim with each passing moment.

"My... dear... Alexei... always.... remember.... me....."

Her eyes glazed over, and she was now an angel in her white dress, serene. Her skin was still smooth and peach, but the color was quickly fading. Alexander turned outwards to gaze parts of the Jewish, the Austrian, the French, and the Main Districts, with flames arising from burning places of worships, homes, and schools. That was not the sight that caught him however. A small music box adorned with two turtledoves on the top cover was still in mint condition.

The emperor picked up the box and opened it. It revealed a faded picture of Alexander and Theodora when they were much younger, when Alexander was the dashing Prince Alexander III of the Principality of Aigagros. There was also a ballerina in the center of the box, that began to spin around. The Gates of Kiev began to ring out of the box, breaking the hideous silence of the environs. The Emperor's eyes gushed with tears as Bastilus looked on in shock. The Archduke dared not mutter a word.

As Alexander lifted his eyes from the music box, his eyes came upon the lifeless body of Nicholas. The emperor quickly stuffed the box away in his coat, and approached cautiously.

"Nick? Nick? Papa's here! He's going to protect you!" muttered the emperor in vain. He shook the limp body of his youngest son, who was a mere 3 years old. "Nick! Nick! Nick!" he said, before burying his face into his son's shoulder. In just one attack, the Imperial Family drops from 7 family members to just 3: The Heir Prince Alexander, aged 23, Princess Karen, aged 24, and Emperor Alexander I himself, aged 53. Empress Theodora, 48, Princess Anna, 6, Princess Ellia, 17, and Prince Nicholas, 3, were all dead. The Queen's Bath, The Royal Conservatory, and The Queen's Closet were gutted. The Navy also was leaderless, as the aged naval hero Benjamin Kouzof was gone too.

Archduke Bastilus excused himself and went down the hallway to leave the Emperor be. He fixed his gaze down towards the floor as he thought of the fond memories of those who had now given up the ghost.

The crewmen had seen an aeroflyer far in the distance; despite one or two crewman’s insistance, no officer had been able to confirm Walmingtonish insignia on the underwing, and it was promptly put out of mind.

Odysseus had at one time carried four triple turrets of the Iansislean 6”/48, one of the overall most highly satisfactory guns in the R.I.N.’s inventory. During the post-Capable refit, the aft superfiring turret was removed and replaced on the port side with two additional depth charge throwers and on the starboard with a seaplane catapult and recovery crane. The arraignment lent itself towards looking ungainly and awkward, but her captain had in more than one instance been glad of the change.

((I’m going to take a couple liberties with your ship here - I’m assuming it’s of post-Dreadnought design, probably with 13.5” or so guns, around 18-22,000 tons, powered by a combination of coal and oil, and capable of somwhere in the low 20ish knots range. That just about right? Tell me if I should be assuming something different.))

“Reminds me of Undauntable, skip,” was Lord Gaston’s considered opinion. Northrupt sighed. He didn’t care who that boy’s father was: second son of the Earl of Disconbury or not, the lieutenant was a dunce. Still, Northrupt had no doubt he’d run into Gaston again, and then he’d probably be in command of a destroyer, if not something bigger! Such was how things worked in the Royal Iansislean Navy. Still, now that Northrupt had his knighthood, he was all but guaranteed to make flag rank eventually.

Odysseus’s primitive radranger, also installed after the Capable incident, had picked up Plantagenet about fifteen nautical miles out, just as a smoke plume had become visible. Northrupt’s first impulse had been to resist contact until he could launch his seaplane and positively identify, but there hadn’t been any reports of hostile sea action in the area; at least, not hostile to a simple Iansislean diplomatic message.

Northrupt’s “fleet” - just his own ship and the 1,590 ton, coal-smoke-belching destroyer Lakeriverwood was arrayed with the 7,800 ton Odysseus in the lead and the smaller ship trailing to port. Both ships, no matter how counter-intuitive it might feel, kept their turrets fore-and-aft as the Plantagenet approached. At last, a young rating spotted the signal; it was transcribed on the first repeat and relayed up to Northrupt.

“Well, good to know we’re not about to be blown out of the water, anyway,” muttered Northrupt. Even if Odysseus and Lakeriverwood’s fire control was much more advanced than their Valerii counterparts, just the shards from those big guns would probably tear through Lakeriverwood’s armor like tissue paper. All the better that they weren’t there to fight, then.

“Yeoman,” he called, barely acknowledging as the young signalman stood to and snapped off a salute. “Make to Plantagenet: ‘We are His Iansislean Majesty’s Ships Odysseus and Lakeriverwood. We intend to make for Trentino and there disembark officers for a state visit.’” Northrupt thought a moment. “‘Escort would be appreciated.’ Send that right off, will you?” The two ships continued to plow ahead as Northrupt waited for the response.

(sorry about the stalling post; I’m just seeing if any of the invading countries would care to try and impede us. If not, I’ll speed through the arrival/disembarkation in my next one.)

100 thermobaric missiles are launched, of which 25 are aimed at the Imperial palace.

Commander: "Few minutes ago"

President: "Ok, activate the skynet and shot those arrows out of the sky, I want birds up there too! Damnit now go!"

They hang up, the commander goes to the General with a direct order from the president to fire the anti-missiles. 1,000 anti-missiles are fired from the Skynet satellites and ships at the 300 missiles from Allanea. Also 100 S39's have lifted off to shot down any missiles that make it past the anti-missiles.

We would like to let Allanea that this is not a defense for Magnus Valerius but so that we can ensure the safety of our 5,000 men and the civilians of Magnus Valerius that we are evacuating to Point Bragg.

Sir Henry lifted his trademark brown bowler in reply to Danmark's similar gesture, a rather distant Baron Thunder-ten-tronckh belatedly following suit, tipping his own bowler with an embarrassed, "Oh!" and some fumbling about his umbrella.

"Sir Henry Chaspot Wayne, tamer of Africa, and my worthy companion Baron Alan Thunder-ten-tronckh of..ah.. at your service and delighted to be in your fine land."

The little Baron cringed slightly as Sir Henry first delivered his full name (Alan, honestly! Such a burdern!), and then failed to list any of his fine achievements. After all, Thunder-ten-tronckh had patented a fountain-pen cartridge and written several poems that were published in Black Gull contemporary compilations.

By the time the Baron's attention turned back towards reality Sir Henry was off on a rant about the pushy meddling attitudes of the nations recently threatening to attack Magnus Valerius (as he was yet unaware of the progress of the assaults), and was offering his resources against their aggression.

Walmington, he said, may not be in a position to help (he left it for Thunder-ten-tronckh to mention "the" war (with Nazi Germany et al)) but its richest man certainly was.

Thunder-ten-tronckh then indicated Sir Henry as said richest man.

Wayne went on to explain that it was within his means to provide at least some local degree of armament and short-term funding. It was apparently his understanding that the nation was unlikely to be prepared for the level of military spending shortly to be required of it.. Frankly he hoped that MV was a nation technologically modest enough and militarily pressed enough to be interested in patents for weapons such as the Wayne MkII Revolver of his design.

(erm.. rambling happens when I get into the ale and Yes Minister DVDs at the same time.. sorry about that lot, heh)

"Sir, I bring some bad news from MV! It seems Allanea has attacked the Capital City. Unfortunately they hit the royal palace, killing 4 royal family members, including the Empress and the heir to the throne!"

"N-no! How did this happen...? We should've seen it comming!!!"

He turns the the Generals around him who were talking about strategy in the war.

"What options do we have in giving modern AA weapons to that capital city?"

"It seems that Mobile AA units would work, or even AA troops would be helpful. If we could land both Mobile AA units and a large group of engineers, then its possible that we could have a fairly functional air defence sector. Although it could take at least 2 weeks with around 5,000 engineers and 10,000 soliders."

"Costs?"

"Nothing to worry about. We have plenty of money left in our budget."

"Excellent. Make it so."

A man at the door nods and then runs out the room.

"Now it seems that we are going to have to fortify the Port St. Chalres. How long till the troops arrive?"

"Around an hour now. We have no new information about the town, although we have recieved acknolodgements of activity."

"I see...our troops should handle anything there, especially with the support of the people. Ok, have our ships fire anything they got at any enemy ships in the area (OOC: If there is any), I want subs to seperate and surprise any more that are not being targetted."

"Yes, it will be done!"

"Also, prepare my ships."

"Sir?"

"I'm going over there. We'll keep in contact with what means we have possible, which is a lot."

"Escorts?"

"Two destroyers. The waters will be fairly safe, so their is no worry."

"Yes sir, your fleet will be ready in...30 minutes. We wish you luck on your journey."

Emperor Vahn goes to his quarters. He puts on his armor (breastplate, green) and grabs his sword. After around 8 minutes his personal guard arrive.

At Port St. Charles the skies were filled with parachutes and troops. Small pamphlets had been dropped down before hand to let the poeple know that these were allies and not foes. As the men hit the ground, they began to move supplies around. Some of the officers asked around, and got the general idea of what had happened and where the enemy had come from. Immediatly scouts were sent out to try to locate the enemy and keep an eye on them (5 groups of 12). The soliders were at a loss of what to do with the civilians, but they dug trenches and built small fortified areas.

Meanwhile, Emperor Vahn was relaxing in his boat. His 2,000 personal soldiers where spread out in the boats, keeping watch. He himslef thought of the situation that was happening over the capital. He had not recieved word thatt it had happened again. But an idea came to mind. It was a costly one, but it should work. He pulled out his cell phone and hit a button.

"Yes, Tracy? Hello is Jose there? Excellent.....Hello, Jose! Listen I want around the clock patrols over the capital, no less than 200 birds at a time. Yes, you can pick the jets....make sure they get their soon, I want it to save as many lives as possible. Good, and also send me some info on this Allanea, I want to get a feel for them. Ok, bye."

The Groombridge System, 11.9 LY from Sol

The black expanse of space in the Groombridge system, a galaxy very similar to teh Sol system, was misleading. It looked empty, but was infact, very, very full. Full of the Imitoran Space Navy. The ships held near the moon of the fifth planet, a gas giant known as big red.

There were over 500 combat ships, and near two thirds that number of other types of space going craft. A good number of which were the infamous Northamptons, the so called flag ships of the Imitoran Space Navy. More precise, these were the Block 7 modualar versions.

Further, there were several hundred Halycon class cruisers, and just as many Genocide class destroyers. The Genocides were products of the Deazeman assault, ships designed specifically for the mass ortillirizing of targets.

The small Raven class fighters flitted around the larger ships, looking for anytging that might be a threat. But the signal that came was not from an enemy ship, nor a probe, nor an alien UFO. It came from Imitora, the island nation in the APTO, via hyperspace communication satalites.

The comabt ships began the push out to sea. Based on the maps and satalite relays, it would take approxamately 22 hours to complete the trip to Magnus Valerius. And every waking hour, the men and women of the 13 Colonial Marine Assault Task Force would be training for the assault.

The Marines didn't quite understand the situation, but it wasn't their place to understand. It was their place to attack. Upon reaching MV waters, they would contact the Larkinian and Iansislanian units in order to coordinate a landing. After all, the five assault ships were carrying a little over 650 combat Marines a piece, several AH-90 Black Widow Helijets, and many a M14 Ronin tank.

Further, several carriers with more of the dualatmospheric Raven fighters also were joined with the group. Finally, many Virginia VI combat submarines, equiped with SAM, or Sonar Absorbent Material, and armed with the new Mk. XV supercav plasma warhead torpedos, patrolled in front of the assault task force, ready to pick up any threats to the group.

The Emperor smiled as he read the fax, things were going well.

"Sir, may we move to the capital?"

His guard stood around, waiting for the order to advance. The supplies were finally unpacked and everyone was ready.

"Yes, let us advance! Deploy the Vanguard, and keep 500 men back for rear guard!"

As to emphisized the order, Tellirian jets zoom overhead, heading to the capital. Soon the Emperor was on his way, it would only be a day or two till he reached his target.

OOC:
Telliria, the heir to the throne, Prince Alexander, was overseas. The second heir to the throne, Nicholas, died. He was the king's second son.

Ah, and Iansisle, you got it. That's right about the class Plantagenet falls in.

IC:

It seems that, even in light of the near destruction of Alexander's family, things were looking up. The Austian forces were begging to go home, with their country being attacked and all! That was the reports, so to speak. Good thing that an army was nearby. It was time for retribution against Austian forces. Archduke Bastilus returned the letter to Aust.

[code:1:383e2e060e]Leader of Aust,
You have bitten off more than you can chew. You will get your ceasefire, but before that, your invading soldiers will be sent home in funeral wagons![/code:1:383e2e060e]

The 3rd Imperial Army, which happened to be not too far from Aust's positions, had the largest amount of cavalry divisions - 15. 150,000 Cavalrymen detached from the army, led by Brigadier General Edward Vittorio. The uhlans, with their pompous feathered helmets, led the other divisions. They were to meet Austian forces in a surprise attack. And they were to leave no man alive.

----

Sir Danmark listened silently as the visitors, or at least the first man, introduced themselves. It seems Sir Henry Chaspot Wayne was a man of many accomplishment, unlike Danmark. What did Danmark accomplish? He only cultivated Valerian Tea, the favorite blend in Magnus Valerius, but that was nothing at all compared to taming Africa. Baron Alan Thunder-ten-trockh cringed, which wasn't noticeable to Danmark.

Sir Henry began ranting about the forces that happened to be mounting against The Crown Empire. Granted, they were very unorganized and might even be utterly destroyed soon. There was headlines in the news about Telliria joining in on the conflict. Then, Sir Henry said that even if Walmington wasn't going to aid, its richest person was; who this richest person is was pointed out by the small baron.

"You are the richest man in Walmington? Why, welcome! I bet the emperor will be flattered to honor such a guest at his palace - if the capital city weren't under attack! I'm one of the richer men of this nation, but I believe you are here for a very certain reason?"

Sir Henry Wayne explained that he wanted to provide some local degree of armament to Magnus Valerius - and some funding, too. But, funding wasn't really an issue, Sir Barnardo thought.

"Well, I believe we can use someone like you on our shores! I'll get us on an express train to Valerius Prime."

Sir Barnardo sent his servant off to pick up an automobile. The chauffer returned with one just a few minutes later. The chauffer extracted himself from the car and opened the back door, allowing the two guests seats in the back.

"Come on now, it's not dangerous at all. It's probably modest compared to Walmington's vehicles, but it will get us to the rail depot in town," Sir Barnardo said. He was going to sit in the front, and allow his guest the plush leather seats in the back.

----

In King William's Sea, Plantagenet began navigating at full speed. Sir Thomas Nathaniel-Argonne knew that perhaps the smoke belching from the ship was a dead giveaway of their approach, even before they had sent their signal. He wondered if they were an invasion 'fleet'. So far, they've only seen faint glimpses of Odysseus in the distance with binoculars.

"Hmm... it looks like we all have company today on the sea," whispered the captain to himself. Then, the messenger returned. He had just received another message from Odysseus.

"Captain Argonne! We've just received a message from the ship. It seems that there is two ships. They are His Iansisle Majesty's Ships, Odysseus and Lakeriverwood. They are on their way to Trentino to disembark on a state visit and they wish for an escort."

"Hmm.. alright, tell them that we will guard their rear on the way to Trentino and call up a few corvette and cruisers to escort them."

The signalman rushed back to relay the new message to Odysseus

HIMS Odysseus,

Plantagenet shall guard your rear. Three cruisers and twelve corvettes will be called up to aid in the escort of your ship. We shall arrive at Trentino, meet, and then head to Valerius Prime to meet with the emperor as you wish.

Regards,
Sir Thomas Nathaniel-Argonne

Immediately, the three cruisers and their accompanying corvettes began to emerge from their ports at Bragg Point to meet with the Iansislian ships. They were the His Majesty's Ships Opal, Hellenic Princess, and Theodoric I.

Emperor Alexander was resting in his bedroom. He looked around to see paintings and photographs of Theodora. He desperately missed her. His brooding was interrupted as Bastilus entered the room.

"Sire. Telliria is sending forces to fight the invaders at Port. St. Charles. There are also reports of Walmingtonian and Iansislian visitors that are on their way. Even Telliria's Emperor Vahn I is on his way, I think."

"...Really? My son-in-law... even if he isn't my son-in-law yet, maybe just seeing his face will make me feel better... will help fill the void." Alexander picked himself up from his opulent bed. "Make sure that the dinner hall and the reception is all set up for the guests. Even if we are under attack, we will treat our noble guests as well as any other."

Bastilus bowed and left the room to make sure that all was ready for the visiting parties.

After long thought, and long nights of staying up and thinking the president of Nano Soft has decided to take side in this war. He has decided to take action against these invaders in MV. The president has given the order to reinforce the troops in Bradd point by 140,000 troops, that will bring the total count to 1.5 million troops. Nano Soft will still aid civilians but at the same time push them back, Already reinforcements have moved out.

1,000 SG-1 space fighters have split of fleet and will meet and help Imitora forces.

President gave order to target all retreating ships of Aust and use the Skynet program to fire non-nuclear missiles at them. Also four carrier fleets have set out to also intercept the retreating forces from Aust. Not only that T-98s have set out to surround the remaining forces of Aust.

Speach from the President:
"Hello my fellow people of Nano Soft! I come to tell that multiple nations like Aust and others have taken action against a single country named Magnus Valerius! They are attacking him for little reason and now we shall aid him to stop these invaders! Already three other nations have aided Magnus Valerius and now we shall also! It is time to put a stop to this madness! As you know the country of Magnus Valerius did kill off 600,000 rebels! Those are traitors! Traitors are always killed! We all know that! But these invaders do not! That is why we shall help Magnus Valerius! We shall help push back this unwelcome force! They shall pay for the damage they have done!"

Approaching King William's Sea

The LSS Arkadia battle group, fresh off of refit in Lyone, and the LSS Independance group slipped into the seas.

"Sir," Ensign Steve Smith said to Admiral Lance Hall, "We've got contacts. Looks like.. five aircraft carriers, all of their planes have taken off."

Admiral Hall nodded, "Really? How very sad they'll have nowhere to land," He turned to fire control, "Prepare to fire our first salvo of Titans, and launch three wings of Sabres with our new R-A-R systems."

"Sir," the Commander at fire control turned to him, "Permission to speak freely?"

"In the war room, Commander," Hall said leading the man into the small room"

.....

"Why are we doing this?" Commander DeSean Armijo asked. "This guy is guilty of mass murder."

"First, Commander," Hall started, "We are not standing here to defend this man. If I had my choice I'd have shot him down myself. That said, we are here to defend our allies in Iansisle and now Imitora.

"The international community didn't even bother to talk with them, they just started plotting their attack," Hall continued. "That's not acceptible."

.....

The two men walked back out to the bridge, "Sir," the ensign said, "We've got confirmation, the planes have started rocket fire on the capital."

Hall nodded, "Gentlemen, the die has been cast. Send message to all ships in the two groups, target those aircraft carriers with the Titans."

The coordinates were quickly punched in, the radars linked to the missile commands.

While the final preparations were made, the subs in the groups moved shallow, opening their missile launchers.

Two 5 Ton trucks come to a halt. The commander peers out his window to see couple Aust squads running away for the sea.
"So what should we do? John?"
"What we always do...EVERYONE OUT!"
About 10 men from each truck jump out from the back, they run to the front, most are armed with rifles except for four of them which have automatic rifles.
"Take aim! FIRE!"
The men take aim at the Aust troops and they start to fire at the troops while kneeling on the ground. Two Xerox II tank come rolling down the him behind the two trucks.

"Sir? Orderers?"
"Yes yes just fire some machin gun over at those troops, no need for the cannon.FIRE!"

Two squads of V-1 By planes fly over large number of Aust forces. They swoop down and drop there bombs on the Aust troops. While the Marine Assault FOrce was still a ways away, the Imitoran Space Combat forces appeared over the space of MV. The Northamptons, mostly combat versions, secured a defenseive perimiter in the space expanse.

The Genocide class destroyers quickly went about targeting Aust forces retreating from MV forces. There were ten in all, and each had 35 Mass Exceleration Weapons, each firing a 50 foot long, three foot wide cylinder made of tungston carbide, and coated with ablatives.

The 'Death Spears' as they were called by the crews of the Genocides would impact the targets at a speed of a little over 100,000 mph. And with 350 being launched, it would be less of an assault, and more of a masascre. However, at the request of the ICMC, some Aust soldiers would be left alive.

The first of the launches began, and the Death Spears began screaming towards Aust troops and units. A little over 100 of the Spears were launched towards targets on the ground.

Northrupt’s return message wasted little time in coming.

‘Thank you. Look forward to meeting in Trentino. Captain Sir John Northrupt, Odysseus.’

---

Oblivious to the military hell being played out around Magnus Valerius, Northrupt’s squadron plodded onwards towards its destination. Most modern Iansislean warships had done away with external observation decks adjacent to the bridge, but Odysseus was of a generation before such technological marvels as Queen Jessica, Shield, and Salvador. Sir John lounged next to a .55 caliber anti-air machine gun that had been grafted onto the deck’s railing. Two ratings on night watch stood at attention as far from their CO as they could get without jumping off the deck, and Northrupt remembered how glad he was of this space.

Even though Odysseus was supposed to be running with wartime blackout in force, he didn’t suppose one little cigarette would make a distance. The lighter flared briefly, and he puffed in pleasure, letting the sweet taste of imported Gallagan tobacco fill him. The smoke mixed with sea air for an unexpectedly sweet aroma, and he sighed.

Odysseus and Lakeriverwood had been running towards Trentino with their Valerii escorts for almost two days now. Lord Gaston assured him that they would be arriving in harbor at first light, but Northrupt wasn’t sure just how far he trusted the lieutenant’s judgment. His smoke finished, Northrupt flicked the last few embers off and tossed the paper from the parapet. He ought to catch at least a few hours of sleep before they arrived.

---

Much to her captain’s surprise, dawn did see Odysseus and her escort arriving in Trentino.

Not as bad as the mass murder of students in Oxford and Cambridge

Many students, when they recieve thier results, could easily go on a murderous rampage if they do not get the required grades to go to the uni of thier choice.

As a solution to this, we get the grades first, and so we go over and kill anyone who hasn't got thier required grades. Good to kill them off before they find out what thier grades are.

Now they knew about their allies retreat and the growing support to Magnus Valerius. They were surrounded by cowards. But they would not go down without a fight. Most of his men wantet to go home but their oaths of honour made them stay. They were in a spread out position and no enemy could defeat them without heavy losses.

Sir Henry and his companion raised their eyebrows somewhat on hearing that the capital was under attack. The knight blustered with some word-free exclamation, evidently appauled by such a lightening attack on a decent nation's capital city of all places.

Still tutting at the uncivilised nature of modern warfare the man who had briefly displayed as the centre-piece of his study a stuffed impi warrior (killed by mustard gas) seated himself in the recently arrived car. Thunder-ten-tronckh quietly followed.

The Walmingtonians of course were yet unaware of the change in the tide of conflict here. Sir Henry still hoped that his means might provide technologies and tactics enough to help Magnus Valerius in defending itself.

Still they would sell their lives dearly.
"What is our battleplan sire?"
Fenris turned to the younger officer behind him. "We will hide in this wood spread out and in hidden positions. Everyone will be able to cover each other so the MVs and the traitors cant attack without meeting heavy fire."
"Are we doomed sire?"
Fenris stared deep into his eyes. "Yes we are. If they attacked they could kill us without to shot. They could have clubbed us to death with their rifles. We dosent stand a chance."

The Emperor walked into the city. People stared, wondering who this man was, nad more than one officer had asked them to put away their weapons. But they had finally arrived, and they were almost to the palace.

--Back at the port--

"Move out!"

"Sir?"

"We're moving against Eirikiania troops! This is a forced march, so those who fall behind will stay there!"

"But sir, how will we fight an enemy if we are exausted?"

"Oh don't worry, we have support from another force, support from our naval forces, It'll only be a forced march for a little while, and the enemy knows that this is the end."

"This being their end and all, sir, won't they fight 10xs harder?"

"DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO PACK UP AND GET ON WITH THE MARCH!!!!"

"Oh Fu--"

Tellirian troops began moving fast to Eirikiania troops. A good 20 Cruise Missles are fired against the enemy troops. Around 10 minutes after they hit specially loaded Harriers drop pamphlets. They read this:

To Eirkiania troops:

You have stood your ground bravely! We expect you to fight the same way! But remember, your country will need you to fight again, so don't needlessy throw away your life. We, the Tellirian troops, ask for a good fight! In return, we will take any troops who surrender. So, fight well. OOC:

Since Aust and Alleana aren't posting, I guess it is safe to assume losses on their sides - otherwise, this RP won't end, hehe.

IC:

While the Eirikanian soldiers hide in the woods within their foxholes and trenches, what had remained of the townsfolk after the Eirikanians butchered a lot of them began to go on raids on soldiers, killing lone groups and stealing supplies. They set fire to parts of the wood. To the north, the 1st Imperial Army was on its way, too late to save townspeople, but on time to eliminate Eirikania and her forces from the war. General Karagiannis gazed out to the horizon as his troops marched on. He held a reserve of 500,000 soldiers in case the cavalry detachment sent to defeat the Austians happened to be destroyed.

Speaking of the cavalry detachment, they happened to run across a demoralized and retreating group of Austian soldiers. The cavalry charged from over a hillside, in a full rage. The soldiers were roaring. They wanted their sabers and lances to taste blood. Some of the more intelligent cavalrymen stood behind at shot round after round of bullets from their carbines. The Austians were being attacked on their left flank.

Meanwhile, in Trentino, Odysseus arrived in port with its escort, including Plantagenet. Sir Nathaniel-Argonne disembarked with some aides, hoping to meet Northrupt and the others to be on the state ticket from Iansisle. The city of Trentino was a very busy port. On a promontory to the west, overlooking the sea, was a large industrial complex. Tall smoke stacks belched steam and gray smoke into the atmosphere. Luckily, the wind blows it away from the city. The harbor was busy with trade ships, and a shipyard not too far from the wharf Odysseus had docked at revealed a new dreadnought under construction; by the appearance of it, that ship was to be even larger than Plantagenet.

Right across from the docks was the waterfront district of the city. A road ran alongside the wharfs, boardwalks, and warehouses, and on this road were several cars and carriages, taking citizens to their daily businesses. Cast-iron gas lamps (which had bulbs placed inside instead of gas, mind you) lined the street, giving it an elegant flair. Brick apartments, fine shops, and everyday grocers of all sorts lined the street as well, with columns of people walking and shopping, gazing at what wares the commercial brick keeps had for sale.

Nathaniel-Argonne was a modest man. He wore the common suit of a captain, with its elegant silver buttons, but he did not wear his medals of honor. He waited on the wharf before Odysseus in order to meet Sir Northrupt and to make sure they can get to Valerius Prime.

Sir Henry and Baron Thunder-ten-tronck were seated and ready to go. Sir Barnardo entered in the front, and sat to the left of the driver. The vehicle started without a problem, and began to roll towards Bragg Point. Within a few minutes, they were at the rail depot, which was located on the outskirts of town, close to the airfield. The chauffer quietly opened the door for the two Walmingtonian guests as Sir Barnardo exited to talk with the ticketmaster.

"Hello. I am here to get two Walmingtonian guests to Valerius Prime. I assume an express train is to arrive in a few minutes that will get us there?"

"Why.... of course... Mr. Danmark."

"What's the matter?"

"Oh... nothing. It's just that the train was derailed by an unsuspected missile attack in Valerius Prime."

"WHAT?!"

The noble's face turned red, and he looked a bit disappointed. The ticketmaster scrambled to a resolution.

"Mr. Danmark! We can, however, get you on the second express train to the capital that arrives in half an hour!"

"Fine then."

Sir Barnardo opened his wallet and paid for the necessary tickets for himself, Sir Henry, and Baron Thunder-ten-tronck. He approached the group, and handed them their tickets to the capital city. "The train will get here in half an hour," Danmark said calmly.

“Good to see an actual harbor again, eh, skip?” asked Lieutenant Gaston, rubbing his hands together. “Seems as if we’ve been on this tour forever; coaling stations get so monotonous.”

“Such are the demands of war, lieutenant,” answered Northrupt as Odysseus was nudged towards her berth. The 7,800 ton obsolescent light cruiser probably didn’t pose too much of a problem for the tug’s crew.

Northrupt wasn’t exactly a shameless self-promoter like Cedric Mayfield - who was now a rear admiral, with the only battle credit to his name being the disaster at the Narrows - but he did now the value of putting his best foot forward. His mess dress uniform seemed a nice compromise. Only his most important rank insignia and campaign medals (specifically Ian’s Cross (First Class), the Larkinian Star of Valor, and his Salvador and Tharkold pins). It also meant he could wear a peaked cap and blazer rather than the ridiculous bicorn and tailed jacket official R.I.N. codes mandated for full dress, even if he did have to tolerate a saber by his side.

The first ones down the gangplank were a pair of Royal Iansislean Marines, resplendent in their dress hunter green rather than their olive colored battle tunics. They assumed positions on either side of Odysseus’ plan and stood at attention as Northrupt and his senior officers, Major Sir Howard Newman of the ship’s marine compliment, Commander Benjamin Lewis, and Lieutenants Edward Keeler and Andrew Needler. Gaston had made it abundantly clear he thought he ought to be included, and Northrupt had made it even more abundantly clear that he wouldn’t be. Further down the pier, Commander Joshua Davis of the Lakeriverwood, his marines’ commander, and two other officers Northrupt didn’t recognize disembarked from their destroyer.

It took his eyes a second to pick who must be the captain among the unfamiliar officers’ uniforms in front of him. After a moment’s hesitation, he approached the Valerii commander and bowed. “Captain Sir Thomas Nathaniel-Argonne, I presume? I’m Captain Sir John Northrupt of His Iansislean Majesty’s Ship Odysseus. These are my senior officers -” he indicated the crowd around him, and introduced each by name, excepting Lakeriverwood’s compliment; he let Davis introduce them, “-and my escort.” He waved at four marine enlisted men. “I want to thank you for seeing us safely to port.”

Fenris were enraged. They spoke of peace while they prepeared to bomb them to death. So the tellirians wanted a good fight. Well then they had found a worthy enemy. It would be no rereat, no surrender.
"Take cover!" Missiles and grenades smashed against the ground. Trees and men where thrown in all directions. Fenris himself was almost hit. As soon the first barrage of artillery, rockets and missiles ended Fenris were back at his feet. Only around 10 000 of the original force remained and the enemys main attack were still to come.
"Use the bodys of the dead and the trees to make a wall! We will never give up! We will fight to the last man! For honour glory blood and death!"
He could see their enemys moving against them.

IC:

A scout came running back, he was the only one who had returned yet, and he was clutching his bleeding arm.

"Sir, they have used trees and dead bodies to build a wall. Taking them down will cost us a lot of men if we just rush it."

"Whats your opinion?"

"Well, we could use mortars to bombard their positions. Or we could use LAW missles to take down those walls and then hit them while they are realing from the attack!"

"Good, we'll do both!"

"Thank you sir!"

The scout gives a slight bow and then heads off with a medic to get his wound looked at. The lead officer pulled his com. set closer to his mouth and set his channel so that it would reach all officers.

"Listen up. The enemy is behind a wall of trees and bodies. It will cost way to much to break through, so we're going to launch a mortar attack and fire LAW missles at their wall. I want the mortar attack to start in 10 minutes, and I want LAW troops to move into position when the firing starts. Co-ordinate it right, and they'll be too startled to shoot our men until we are upon them."

After a few moments an officer for the troops using the LAW missles speaks up.

"Sir, should we have guard going along with us? I mean we might need some cover fire while the troops fire and reload."

"Yes, take 5,000 men along. I'll leave the picking of the men and their officers to you!"

"Th-thank you sir! I shall not let you down!"

Tellirian units begin moving. After around 8 minutes all units are ready to fight, and mortar units begin firing. It's at this time that LAW units, with their escorts, begin to move in.

14 miles south of Eirikiania strong point.
General: "Are the guns ready?"
Officer: "Yes sir! All troops are also in position! The enemy is hiding in the woods!"
General: "Hehehe fools! Have them right where we want them! Fire the guns!"
Heavy long range artillery start going off firing at the large wooded area where Eirikiania forces are hiding.
Half an hour later
Guns are still going off.
General: "Send in the bombers!"
120 dive bombers take off and head out armed with Napalm bombs.
General: "We will torch that bastards out of there! When they come running out we will blast them away!"
Messenger: "Sir bombers have lifted off and ETA 20 mins!"
General: "Good! Dismissed!"
In 18 mins loud noise is heard coming up from the south. 120 bombers emerge from the clouds and head down and move into formation. They take turns swing down and drop the pay load and then lift up and spray the ground with machine gun fire. Once the bomb hits the ground it explodes and the whole area I around it burst into flames! Metal scrap from the bombs fly every where around where they explode. The pilots see men running around in flames as shells from the artillery fall on them. Now almost the whole forest is on fire.
General: "Those bastards will come out thinking they survived the worst! But wait to see what is waiting for them! Hehehehehe MWHAHAHAHA!"
Officer: "Sir are you Ok?"
General: "yes, sorry about that."

Out of the forest warriors charge. Fenris and the remaining 4000 warriors. They are frenzied and their swords almost shines in the dark. "Get into closecombat and kill them there." Hopefully they they havent so much melee training as we he thought.
The men of Telliria and Nano Soft is firstly surprised but quikly recovers.
The eirikianis are enormously outnumbered but will fight to the last.
"NO MERCY!" The tall man Fenris lookes like a bear. A long blade in one hand and a axe in the other.

Then the enemy troops came running out with axes, swords, and other meele weapons, thinking that the Tellirian troops didn't have training in that sort of fighting.

"Sir, enemy troops have charged with swords and axes."

"HA! Let the troops use that martial art training they had to take. Lets use those throwing knives while we are at it."

"If only we had some Legoneers..."

"Ya, well...we outnumber them, we can everything they can plus more. We'll kick their ass so hard, their country won't be able to fight for the next 10 years!!!!"

Troops take aim and fire at there pick target and keep on firing at the incoming enemy. Snipers look threw there scopes and take out high ranking men and then low ranking. By planes swoop down and fire at the enemy, fore they are about 200 yards away from the Nano Soft troops. Tanks drive forward to meet the enemy head on. The tanks drive right up into the enemy and fire up the flame thrower and spray the enemy with machine gun fire. Many men are ether run over by the tanks or on fire or shot by the machine gun. But it seems this does not stop them. Troops prepare them selves for close combat with there bayonets but them keep on firing. As soon as then enemy is fifty feet away the commander streams "RETREAT!" All the men turn in a instant and run in the opposite direction. They run for about 100 yards then stop, They turn and aim and fire at the same time. Then men that where under ground hiding pop up and fire a couple rounds at the enemy.
Commander: "CHARGE!"
Men thrust out there swords and pistols and charge at the enemy.

Nano Soft men are excellent fencers.

200 S-39s lift off from the six carrier fleets in the area. They head towards the Allanea fighters. They arm there AA missals and lock on to targets from 300 miles away. They close in at Mach 2, when they are 200 miles away they fire there missiles. 800 missals go flying off the rack at mach six heading towards Allanea jets. The air craft lock on again and fire another time, this time 1,000 missals go flying off there racks at mach six hurling towards enemy air craft.

"Admiral Hall?" Ensign Smith asked, "Sir, we've got confirmation that the Allanea jets have fired again."

Hall nodded to himself before turning to Commander DeSean Armijo. "Well that's that. We'll need to make sure those jets have no where to land. Commander, fire the first wave of Titans at the five carriers."

Armijo sighed and punched in a launch code. Moments later, the smoke of missiles launching rose from the group of ships as the Titans ripped away from the group, skimming near the surface of the water toward the Allanea ships. Then the subs in the group rose to the surface long enough to launch the Titans from their vertical bays before vanishing into the sea again.

100 Limbaugh-2 EMP missiles are launched at the enemy fighters, then the Coulters break off into various directios (radially).

2 Carriers are heavily damaged as most of the Titans are shot down or dispersed with the EMP blasts.

50 EMP missiles are launched from the Nanuchka Frigates at the general location of the original launch.

Tellirian fighters are calmly patroling the skies of the capital city.

"Sir I've got something on radar...there appears to be a large amount of them!"

"I see 'em! All fighters turn around and get in formation, we're gonna punch through with a wedge formation. I want 3 wings, keep that F-22s for the last row."

"Roger that flight leader, F-22s turning around."

The 150 F-16s turn around and divide into 3 groups of 50. The 50 F-22s are saved for the last row. The first group goes flying at the enemy firing a swarm of missles and bullets. They get a good 1000 feet away before the second line hits, and so on. They then turn around and make additional attacks, this time breaking up and taking indivual targets.

"Admiral Hall," Ensigh Smith started, "We've got two damaged carriers, the rest of the missiles came in at an above angle trajectory and were blocked or shot down."

Hall nodded a moment, "Commander," he said turning to Armijo, "Prepare to fire again, with the right coordinates this time. I want the mini-AWACS in the air, with an escort, to commence full radar jamming aimed at those carriers. Program the Titans to take the correct course this time, no more than 20 yards above the water (they don't call them sea skimmers for nothing.), and have the Black Hawks up lazzing the carriers.

"Order the submarines to rig for silent running, fire up the Typhoon drives and approach the group silently, tell them to take as much time as they need. Obtain a torpedo lock on the carriers, fire and dive."

Armijo punched the new command coordinates for the Titans into the computer while the missiles were being reloaded.

The Submarine commanders got their orders and set up their boats to run silently before diving and approching the zone while the F-111 AWACS took off from the carriers decks with wings of F-22's armed with Mini Titan Anti-Shipping missiles and Black Hawk jets. The AWACS began their targeted jamming while the Black Hawks aimed the targeting lazers at the five carriers.

Hall turned to Armijo, "Open fire, wave two."

"All ahead flank," Hall replied, "Activate the R-A-R."

(R-A-R: Read-Activate-Response Radar, reads the incoming radar signals, jamming computers activate and send out a signal scrambling the enemy radar)

The missiles closed in, slamming into two of the frigates in the Arkadia Group, one of the Independance group destroyers and one medical ship.

Hall looks at Armijo a moment. "Ok, enough of this, prepare plasma warheads."

Fighters take basic maneuvers and turn there after burners and Radar Jamers on and go up at a 85º angle. The fly up to 140,000 feet as the EMP missals approach now at two miles away. they take a sharp dive going straight down. Some of the missal where shot down but most remain. The jets go screaming down past 100,000 feet then 80... 60... 40... 20 and then at 10,000 the jets pull up hard at Mach 6.2 they pull up and move up to 60,000 feet at Mach 5. The jets go screaming towards enemy fighters, they lock on and fire 400 radar seeking Missals at the enemy fighters. The jets then move up to about 80,000 feet into the clouds and then when they are 2 miles from the enemy the enemy jets they move down at Mach 5.8 and they move in for close combat dog fighting. They arm there cannons, choose there target and move in.

OOC: I am assuming that the missals ran out of fuel by now since the average speed for one is about Mach 4 so my jets out ran them.

The tanks of Nano Soft had killed many but they had many anti-tank weapons and had managed to survive the shock. The enemy snipers also had great problems to choose target since the Eirikianian officers didnt wear marks to show their rank in battle.
Fenris and hes men slammed into the enemy infantry with bloodlust in their eyes. The ground were covered with blood from both sides. Their enemys were many and skilled but the Eirikianians had two advantages. Swords is better than bayonetts and since they knew they couldnt win they fought wilder than any normal human.
Fenris slashed a man from Telliria in the arm. He fell to the ground, holding hes wound. A man from Nano Soft stabbed Fenris in the shoulder from behind. He turned and killed him with hes axe. Everywhere around him people fought and died. It wouldnt last long before the battle where over. He had already lost to many men. This day Fenris would loose.

The General looked at the carnage that lay around him. His sword was in his arm, bloody. He suffered a minor wound, but he woudl not recieve medical attention until his men were treated.

He hated meele fighting, this was almost always the result. The battle was over; Tellirian and Nano Soft troops were victorious. However the cost was great.

Some 2,500 men lay dead.
Some 6,000 lay moaning on the ground, begging for help from the overwhelmed medics.

But it was hard to tell who was on whos side when they all lay together. Medic worked side by side with those from the other side, doing what they had been trained to do. Tellirian helicopters arrived to airlift the injured onto the ships that were in the ocean or to the "primitive" MV hospitals.

Of all the troops that Telliria had fought, they only took some 7 prisoner who could still fight. Other than that, some 300 had been gathered and were being treated, but about a third were expected to die.

However, in light of the battle, the Emperor made it manditory for short sword trainind and that each soldier should be equpited with one. He also ordered 20 more hours for throwing knife training and Tae-Kwon-Do.

We will send Eirkiania troops back as soon as we recieve word that you have backed out, and we have treated them.

About 2,039 men are dead and 5,324 are wounded, but men cheer on was they pull out there drinks and lay down. Not many of the tanks were destroyed and also snipers didn't have a problem because they just shot the leading man in front of every one.

Fenris had never been so sad. He had failed orders, lost the battle and failed to die as a man. Now he was a captive. At least the men of Telliria had been more merciful than those scumbags from Nano Soft. The few men who returned home would be remembered as heroes. Exept him.
He nearly did wish it had been Nano Soft who had captured him. Still he had lost like a man. He remembered how he had given his sword to the tellirian commander as a sign of surrender. He had accepted defeat and maybe he then had kept a little honour. He hoped so.

Since this were all the men I had in MV and all my allies has run long ago, I offcourse cant keep on fightning. So you can say I have backed out.
