the Sugar Strikes in Montecore: SPECIAL REPORT

15-01-2004, 05:40
Reporter: WE are live at the Palace of Fine Arts, where Seljuk, the President of The People's Republic of Montecore is to give a press conference in a few minutes. As you can see, the flag is high and the demostrators are raising their Black Cat floats in support of the president. Across the street from them are Labor activists. There is an apparent rift in the local government concerning workplace conditions. Like the Great Black Cat in all its stealth, the President of Montecore is striking at the problem with the same precision. Here he is, our Leader, our General!

Seljuk: Our workers enjoy some of the best conditions this region of the world has ever seen. The Sugar crops have never seen better days. Business is good. Because we do not interfere with business doings as a whole at this point, we may have to devise regulations for the benefit of the workers and our budding consumer population. The way of the Black Cat is to work around any issue that bothers Him.

The Black Book says: "The only way to survive is to adapt, and to eventually alleviate the problem to a point where it no longer is a problem." *applause* Thank you. The policy changes will come into effect tomorrow morning. All the Sugar farms will be inspected and the labor houses brought up to the new codes within this week. Thank you and goodnight.

REPORTER: There you have it. We came to the solution. The Way of the Black Cat is always best. We have received word that the Montecore govnt. is attempting to contact the government of Knack-Knack. We do not know the reasons behind this. This is Jonny Joe Johnson signing off!
