ADI aerospace have designed every single bomb bay and combat system(save the U.S.A.F. PAVE MINT Active Countermeasures set produced under licence) themselves, and time will tell wether they have succeeded in creating an engine of destruction superior to the B-52. Some armour have been added to the wings, and a larger munition bay enables the B-Down to carry in excess of 32.000 kilograms(32 metric tons!) of bombs, mines and missiles.

Unit Cost: 30,000,000 USD.

The ADI-A72 is a new anti-air tracked platform based on the 2S6M Tunguska anti-air platform. While CAF still uses the Tunguska, plants are churning out these new models in steadily increasing numbers. Still using the combination of SA-19 SAMs and quadruple AA cannons, there is no "Dead Zone" in which aircraft may by-pass this deadly anti-air artillery. Extensive modifications have been made, fitting the craft with heavier 32mm AA guns, a heavier engine and new target acquisition software that allows for limited fire-on-move capability for the SA-19, allowing the platform to engage aircraft that stay out of firing range. Primarily for protecting armour and infantry against low-altitude fighter attacks, the ADI-A72 is very versatile and promises to protect CAF forces for years to come!

T-90-ADI49 “Thumper” Artillery Tank.
http://globalsecurity.org/military/world/china/images/t-90ii-1-s.jpg
Power Plant: 8-cylinder turbocharged diesel, 1200 hp
Max Speed: 60 km/h(37 mph)
Weight: 50 metric tons.
Crew: 3
Length of Hull: 7 metres estimated.
Width: 3.4 metres estimated.
Height, top of turret: 2 metres.
Range: 400 km, road.
Vertical obstacle: 0.85 metres
Trench: 3 metres.
Armament: one 155mm smoothbore, multi-chambered “Close-up” Howitzer gun.
one 12.7mm machine gun
one 7.62mm machine gun
2 x 4 smoke grenade dischargers
Extra systems: reaction armour, long-range target acquisition radar, commlinks and a laser-based, anti-tank guided missile countermeasure.

The T-90-ADI49 is, the story goes, a result of Commonwealth tank commanders claiming they could not knock out heavy modern assault tanks with but one shot. Innovative RAC commanders and private arms manufacturer scientists joined forces to create the “Thumper”, using a customized Chinese Type-90-II heavy MBT as the base, then adding better armour and replacing the default 125mm smoothbore cannon with a domestically produced modified Howitzer artillery cannon. This innovative gun is designed to fire 155m shaped-charge HEAP round relatively short ranges(although it can make Indirect Fire missions as well, and has GPS support with which is can launch shells with decent accuracy at targets within up to 30 kilometers!) with great power, to support MBTs during close quarters tank fights. Its multi-chamber loading feed allows it to fire both US, Chinese and NATO 155mm HEAP rounds, adding a greater versatility to those armies that do not employ Chinese munitions. The ability to use the 155mm outside Indirect Fire warfare, makes this tank a threat against any conceivable armoured opponent. The gun does however have a minimum effective range of 150 metres, within that the targeting radar will not be able to get a proper fix, and therefore it is recommended that the T-90-ADI49 has regular armour escorts.

While designed to destroy enemy MBTs and other armour in close quarters, the Thumper also accepts HE, HE-FRAG and HEDP 155mm slugs, and is therefore also ideal to support infantry with short-range direct fire artillery.

Cost: 4,000,000 USD

M22 Assault rifle w/ M6B 40mm grenade launcher.
http://world.guns.ru/assault/m16a2.jpg
(portrayed without 40mm grenade launcher)
caliber: 5x56mm NATO
Fire modes: single, semi-automatic, three-round burst and full automatic.
secondary fire: Single shot, 40mm HE-frag, incendiary or proximity delay grenade.
Magazine capacity: 20 or 40 rounds standard.
Rate of fire: 815 rounds per minute.
Max. effective range: 565 meters.
Price: 810 USD for rifle, grenade launcher and maintenance kit.

The M22 is an ADI clone of the ever-popular M16A2 assault rifle, modified to meet the requirements of the Commonwealth Armed Forces. Sporting a larger magazine, increased effective range and rate of fire, the M22 is somewhat less maintenable and harder to clean than its mother design, but the high standard of the M22 support kit(one comes free with every rifle bought) remedies this. Included is an ADI M6B universal assault rifle 40mm launcher, that can fire 3 different kinds of grenades, giving soldiers the much needed indirect fire support they need if cut off from friendly forces in the field, or just need to pile on the offense. The M6B supports High Explosive-Frag munitions, incendiary white phosphorous grenades, and as something new, the proximity grenade! Based on C4 semtex with a fragmentation ring and sensor on the top, this grenade will lay dormant where fired until an enemy soldier treads on or near it - incapacitating or killing the target.

Hattia is interested in the T-90-ADI49 “Thumper” Artillery Tank.

We will not purchase it as long as your nation has no minimum wage laws. If you do institute minimum wage laws, Hattia will buy very large amounts of the "Thumper". Perhaps we can come to a deal...
African Commonwealth
14-01-2004, 01:31
We are sorry to inform Hattia that due to the pressed state of the Commonwealth((OOC: It is currently embroiled in a cold war with other major powers of the region)), we can not as a private company challenge the government's policy until there is relative peace again.

Are there not some other way in which we can convince the government of Hattia that they should purchase our products? We are even willing to lend "Thumpers" to the Hattian military, that they may try out its awesome prowess for themselves!

There is nothing preventing Hattia's government from freezing the money saved by shopping with our country, and paying them in bonus to African workers when we re-instate minimum wage laws - Our government can easily handle that?

20,000,000 USD it is. Order confirmed and shipped.

We used the 155mm because it was the primary artillery round of the Commonwealth and it's allies. Besides scoring almost certain destruction when used against tanks, the howitzer can also perform devastating indirect fire missions at targets up to 25-30 kilometers away.

The "Thumper" performed well at combat tests. Though it was slower than our T-90Hs. It could also destroy them in one hit. Though we generally like to use domestically developed weaponry. We will purchase 300. Are we allowed to produce these ourselves. If not, we would be interested in buying production rights.

15-01-2004, 16:36
As previously stated, the T-90-ADI49 benefits from infantry/regular MBT support, although it performs well alone in long-distance scenarios too, outgunning contemporary MBTs by far.

EDIT: While we may be interested in selling production rights to ADI products in the future, for now we do not. At least, not until the AC economy is fully revived.

Order confirmed. Enjoy your purchase!

Dra-pol

The acquisition of helicopter technology has long been on DaKhiem's list of military wants. Unfortunately the republic has no experience of building such, and has only ever encountered the technology as its victim during the Three Day War with Quinntonia.

With a handful of ASW helicopters purchased from the Russian Federation and the victory scored by these against an enemy D/E submarine at Kosong the republic's interest has been renewed.

The ADI-AV-33 Dedicated Attack Helicopter fielded by one of the few states with which DaKhiem has ever been willing to do business certainly caught the military's eye.

However, Dra-pol is insistant that it must produce the vast majority of its military equipment at home -it is the only way to sustain such a huge force as the republic does without destroying the isolated economy.

The Central Directorature made its interest known to Kinshasa, stating that Dra-pol would be willing to purchase some ADI-AV-33s DAHs if there was any chance of negotiating production rights or developing a domestic cousin.

Also remembered were the heavy lift helicopters flown by the Commonwealth when bringing aid to beseiged Dra-pol. These, DaKhiem felt, would be ideal for the republic's internal use, given the terrain and lack of infrastructure.

On top of all this the remains of Dra-pol's old Coast Guard command piped-up in the hopes of convincing DaKhiem to pursue assistance in developing D/E submarines of its own. The nuclear submarines offered by the Commonwealth would be rather above the budget of the neglected coast guard, and of dubious value to the isolationist nation.

ADI is more than willing to allow production of a domestic ADI-AV-33 DAH model, given a fitting monetary compensation of course.

As for the tarhe 'Skycrane' Heavy-duty Lift helicopters, we can spare but 5 that have been sacked from regular military duty. They will cost between 3.5 and 7 million USD apiece, depending on their equipment configuration. All the Skycranes can lift in excess of 20.000 pounds, however.

As many of the naval warfare experts used in designing the SSN Barracuda are still in Port Banan, perhaps we could lend their assistance to Dra-Pol in designing a medium D/E Submergible craft of their own?

Why would the ADI wish to sell its awesome weapons of mass destruction, when it needs a deterrant? Certainly we would not give it to a truculent nation such as yourself, no matter the cost.

If it matters that much to the crass nation of Holy panooly, one of our sister companies, Zulu Warrior rocketry, sells ICBM, IRBM, SLBM and also the destructive warheads they employ:

The Central Directorature conveys the republic's wish to acquire the five available Skycranes, expecting that eventually a native equivalent will be produced.

The CPRD also wishes to purchase twenty-four (24) ADI-AV-33 Dedicated Attack Helicopters and to secure production data and rights for same aircraft.

(If you like we can just consider that some sort of royalty will be paid on the first x-number of helicopters built in Dra-pol. I'm not entirely sure what the norm would be in reality. To be honest Dra-pol would probably just have bought one or two, then a few years from now anyone insane enough to sneak into the republic would see hundreds of strikingly similar aircraft buzzing about, but.. oh well ;) )

While order could technically be confirmed right away, it is ADI policy to inform the Democratic Republic of Shang-Ti that such a large-scale military purchase will put a sizable strain on the thriving, 98 million population economy.

Do you wish to go ahead?

Dear Sirs,

We understand this is a large order; however, we feel it is not outside the scope of our military budget.

As the following link will show : http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=shang-ti&defenseprovided=1&defense=10&militarybudget=10

Our current military budget is $79 Billion. We set aside 25% of our yearly military budget (in this case $20 Billion) for new product acquisition. The remaining military budget goes towards maintenance and salaries (50%) and R&D (25%). As we have developed a formidable Navy already, our focus is on building a modernized Air Force.

As you can see, a $15 Billion purchase for 500 of your bombers is well within our 25% New Acquisition budget of $20 Billion.

However, if you still have reservations, we are perfectly happy to split the order into two NS years of 250 plans each, or $7.5 Billion for two-years.

We await your reply.

13-06-2004, 12:24
OOC>> Hmm.. If I might give a strictly technical analysis, I suggest you start replacing the Lee-Enfields with dedicated semiautomatic rifles - While it has an edge over pump/single shot weapons, the manual reloading time will kill you against anyone toting the simplest of semi-auto rifles. Also, make the bayonets clip-on so you only have to use them during physical confrontations, because unless they're pretty slim they will impair your ability to shoot straight.

Why not start phasing the M1 Garand or somesuch into your army? Range is(well, not nearly, but somewhat) comparable, but I can't help but suspect you will not use anything that ain't purely British ;)

In that case, I suppose you could use a little-known prototype that were designed by Britain, but never used after world war one - The experimental Rifle .303 Mk III ESL(Experimental Self-Loading). While it did have some problems with accuracy and maintenance, it was an effective fully semi-automatic .303 rifle. I'm sure Roycelandian army scientists could straighten out the kinks, right?

And yus, FN FALs are the shit. I use them aplenty with my insurgency regiments in Red Scandinavia, but you'll find out soon enough, I wager ;)

IC>>

While the ADI would normally question the prudence of putting fully automatic assault rifles with grenade launchers into the hands of convicted criminals, it really doesn't care in the face of huge profits to come - The order was quickly confirmed, and as a bonus a design consultant were shipped along to help with any usage or maintenance problems that could occur with this completely new design.

(The Armed Offenders Squad is the Imperial Police equivalent of a SWAT or STAR Team- they aren't the criminals!)

The Roycelandian Lee-Enfield Mk III, the No. 5 Jungle Carbine, and the Self-Loading Lee-Enfield all have blade bayonets (the Mk III and the SLLE use the Pattern '07).

And I'll see your Mk III ESL and raise you a Charlton Automatic Rifle! It's basically a full-auto SMLE. Designed by a New Zealander, the rifle was never adopted because of the cost. However, several experimental models were made by both Charlton himself and Electrolux, of all people, here in Australia.

It was never adopted because of the cost issues, and after WWI no-one saw any real need for a Semi-Auto Rifle.

Most of the prototypes were destroyed in a warehouse fire in the 1930s, and by the time decent rifles were needed, WWII was underway and the Defence Department really didn't have the time or inclination to go mucking around with experimental semi-auto rifles when the SMLE could be made quickly and inexpensively in Australia.

Anyway, there are only 3 Charlton Automatic Rifles left- one of them in the Waioru Army Museum in New Zealand, the other is at the Lithgow Small Arms Museum in Australia, and the British Pattern Room in the UK has one.

Anyway, I'll stop hijacking your storefront, and start considering the issue of the SLLE to our troops...

OOC: SMLE= Short Magazine Lee-Enfield. The standard British Empire/Commonwealth Service Rifle from 1906-1955, when it was replaced by the SLR (English version of the FN-FAL) in most places.

The Indians kept using a version of the SMLE (The SMLE 2A1), chambered for 7.62NATO, until the mid-1970s.

No, the gun isn't Short... with a bayonet attached an SMLE Mk III/III* is about 5 1/2ft long.

The "Short" designation comes from the fact that the Lee-Enfield Mk I (AKA the Long Lee, AKA the Long Tom) was about 1' longer and a bit on the unwieldy side (as one can imagine, trying to fire a rifle nearly 5' long, without a bayonet!)

The Lee-Enfield Mk I (MLE, for short) was descended from the Lee-Metford, which was basically the same as the MLE, but fired a Black Powder cartridge and had different rifling.

The "Magazine" refers to the 10 round detachable magazine the rifle has, and "Lee-Enfield" refers to the designer & manufacturer of the rifle, as well as the type of rifling in the barrel.

So, starting from the Lee-Metford and progressing through to the 2A1, the Lee-Enfield was in service from 1889-1976.

If anyone is REALLY interested in the subject, telegram me and I'll gladly enlighten you. Alternatively, have a look here:
