PM Geoffrey Walmsley was murdered yesterday. The Loyal Monarchists claimed responsibility in a phone call to police two hours after the assassination, threatening further actions if recent measures “against the sanctity of the throne” are not reversed.

Police revealed that the PM and his bodyguard died when something pierced the rear side door as the car passed over the Dyleford Bridge. Death was instantaneous.

The King expressed his condolences in person to the Walmsley family before addressing the Nation. “We vow to hunt down the perpetrators of this heinous act to the fullest extent of the law,” he announced on television last night. He has subsequently requested Parliament consider using the Army to police the capital and other essential areas until the terrorists have been found. Deputy PM Oliver Yardmouth has not as yet responded, though Chief Justice Una Blackridge stated such measures would be unconstitutional without declaring a state of apprehended insurrection.
