Colerica Imperial News has just been informed that the small fleet of United Empire warships have arrived at Isla De Plata. Some of the ships have begun deploying Imperial Marines, while the others, such as the CSS Xevven Jericho, remain in the Grand Plata Harbor. We're not sure as to why the ships would be emplacing troops on Isla De Plata, but we will continue to cover this story as it unfolds....

OOC: Normally, I do out-of-character lines in italics, but for the sake of the ship names, I'm not using italics....The small fleet consists of:

-CSS Vanquisher and the CSS Subjugator: Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ships

-CSS Crusader: Helicopter Assault Ship

-CSS Xevven Jericho: Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier

-CSS Invincible, CSS Superior, and the CSS Excellence: Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigates

-CSS Royalty and the CSS Monarchy: Ticonderoga Class Guided Missile Cruisers

-CSS Kydel, CSS Rygaul, and the CSS Renna: Arleigh Burke Class AEGIS Destroyers

-CSS Wrath: Iowa Class Battleship

-With atleast 2 Ohio Class Submarines lurking somewhere deep below...

From our checkups on your nation, it is appears you a both very young and also, apparently, involved in a civil war. We fail to see how you could provide us with military assistance, something that we don't currently need, if you're already caught up in a war with your own people. We thank you for the offer, though...

The United Empire of Colerica has landed forces on Isle De Plata for security reasons. As you may or may not be aware of, a Colerican ocean liner, the IMS Montaro sunk the other day off the coast of Isle De Plata. The ship, we believe now, was struck by a torpedo. Intelligence shows that the torpedo may very likely have been sent by a submarine under the control of or corridinating with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colerica, a rebellion group attempting to destablize the United Empire. We've spoken with the Executor of the Republic of Isle De Plata about landing troops there, and he agreed to let us send forces to find and eliminate these dissidents. Altough, there is some concerns that Isle De Plata's government may have been in on the sinking of the Montaro, something we're looking in on.

Colerica Imperial News has just been notified, literally seconds ago, that explosions are occuring throughout Isla De Plata, the miniscule island that lies over one hundred and eighty miles northeast of Colerica. As it appears right now, the United Empire of Colerica has gone to war with Isla De Plata.

There has been tension for several weeks now, since the three foreign agents hade been captured within Colerica's borders. Seemingly, the agents belong to Isla De Plata. Then, rumoredly, the Colerican government was sent a plea from certain members of the ruling regime of Isla De Plata. A plea to help in a planned coup to overthrow the current Executor of Isla De Plata.

Again, to reiterate, explosions are rocking Isla De Plata as I speak. And it appears that the United Empire of Colerica has brought war to Isla De Plata. We will, of course, continue to cover this story. The Emperor is expected to speak anytime now....

Colerica Imperial News now takes you live to a surprise speech by Emperor Maderic Thra.

***

"Citizens of the United Empire of Colerica. Nations of the world. As I would hope you all know that the IMS Montaro sunk just the other day off the coast of Isla De Plata. Vast rescue efforts are working around the clock, even as I speak, to help find survivors of that tragic wreck. The Montaro, however, isn't why I'm making this speech. Not entirely.

On my orders, airpower belonging to the Colerican Imperial AirForce have struck strategic locations of key military importance throughout Isla De Plata. A short time ago, before the Montaro tragedy, the United Empire recieved frantic word from members of the Ma'dah party on Isla De Plata. The Ma'dah party has a had a death-grip stranglehold on the island's civillians since the island nation was founded. These leaders, who will remain secret, pleaded with the United Empire to intervene and eliminate the Ma'dah party from control of Isla De Plata. After discussing the issue with my closest officials, I have decided that the only option to help both the Colerican people and the citizens of Isla De Plata is to remove their hostile regime. The United Empire of Colerica has officially declared war on Isla De Plata.

Rest assured, citizens of the United Empire, we will win this war. This will be over quickly and we with meet little resistance from the Ma'dah's forces. With the help of our newly-found ally, the Democractic Republic of Tomzilla, we will return justice and humanity back to Isla De Plata. The days of Ma'dah control on Isla De Plata is coming to an end. Citizens of the United Empire of Colerica: Believe. Obey. Fight."

***

That was Emperor Maderic Thra of the United Empire of Colerica confirming what we already we sure of. The United Empire of Colerica has declared war on Isla De Plata's Ma'dah ruling regime. We've also gotten word that the Democratic Republic of Tomzilla has passed a declaration of war as well, and they will see to aid the United Empire in ousting the corrupt Ma'dah dictatorship. We will, without a doubt, continue this story...

Admiral Terrance A. Grant stared out the large windows in the wheel room of the Xevven Jericho. He watched as two F-15 Eagles took off to fly continue their air raids of Isla De Plata's military targets. This war would be quick, he assured himself. Altough, Admiral Grant had an arm-chair quarterback position. He command men, but didn't put his life on the line. That was part of the job of his son, Colerica Imperial Army Lieutenant Davis Grant. Davis would be deployed from the CSS Subjugator within a few hours to the steaming jungles of Isla De Plata. The island nation was tiny, hardly worth the bother of so much military use, but his CO's had the authority, not him.

A huge trimarian-hull aircraft carrier, surrounded by a capable fleet of destroyers, cruisers, and frigates, moves near the island in question. Onboard, F/A-18F's are preparing a reconaissance run over the island, and ZF-26B's are preparing to strike any and all SAM systems they find.

The Allied States of Nova Scotias does not believe this war should be going on. There has been no proof of any WMD. We believe that this war must be stopped now. We have military units on their way to Isla De Plata as we speak. The military units consist of...
3 aircraft carriers
6 battleships
2 helicopter assualt ships
6 frigates
10 destroyers
10 heavy missile cruisers
40 auroras and hercules
50 B-2 bombers
500 F-18's, F-14's
10 challengers
400 griffons
30 000 ground troops
300 t-80s, T-62's, T-55's (tanks)

While the military forces of Colerica and Tomzilla are making way on one side of the island, we are making way on the other. We hope that other nation see that this is not a fair war and Colerica and Tomzilla must stop all military actions upon Isla De Plata.

OOC: That's cool, Penguisana...let's make this some bit of a challenge...

Landing Craft Ariel Cushion vehicles took to the shores of Isla De Plata. The LCACs raced through the water and continued up onto the sandy beaches. Colerican troops poured out from the LCACs and made their way up the beach.

"Looks desolate, sir," a soldier said. "Do you think all of our bombardments cleared 'em from the shores, Colonel Travis?" he continued.

Colonel Mark Travis scanned his surroundings; he wasn't used this kind of warfare. He had just recently been pulled from the Colerica security police forces and recommisioned in the army. He was hoping that they would place him in Special Forces, but they said he had to prove his worth.

"Colonel Travis?" the same man said again.

"The air strikes might have just swept them from the beaches. That doesn't mean that we won't encounter Ma'dah forces. Be alert," he said as him and his men treked up the sloped beaches. Just beyond the beaches were the thick jungles that covered the majority of the small island.

"We establish a beachhead here and then we move in. There's a road just two clicks east that should lead us into the heart of the island," Travis said.

"Snipers! Take action! Fall back!" he shouted.

More LCACs landed on the beach, unaware of the Ma'dah attackers hidden just beyond the treeline. The LCACs deployed an additional one hundred and twenty troops to the beaches along with two light-armored Warrior Fighting Vehicles, which drove up the shore to Colonel Travis.

"Get back! Snipers in the trees!" he shouted.

"We'll handle this," one of the men inside a Warrior Fighting Vehicle said. He activated the fifty caliber machine gun and sprayed bullets into the treeline. He continued to repeat this action, moving left to right and up and down as he rattled off hundreds of rounds.

Colonel Travis, surveyed the men that fell from the trees.

"Well that was easy," Peterson said from behind him.

Seconds after Peterson uttered those words, an explosion from an RPG tore him in half. Travis was blown by the blast and hit the ground with a hard thud. A second RPG struck one of the Warrior Fighting Vehicles and shredded the armor, killing or severly injuring all soldiers inside. The second Warrior vehicle was struck heavy by .50 caliber machine gunfire, but managed to rattle off several .50 caliber rounds itself, before the gunner was hit.

"We can't repel firepower of that magnitude. Fall back. Get the Jericho on the radio. We need a damn air strike," Travis instructed as he fired his M-4 assualt rifle into the thick woods, hoping to strike some of the of Ma'dah soldiers.

Colonel Travis looked up to see five F-14 Tomcats race through the sky. They were flying low enough that he could recognize the insignia as being the flag of his own nation. The Xevven Jericho had recieved their message, and sent help. He now wondered where the Blue Squadron from the Tomzillian forces were at.

Explosions shook the ground as air-to-surface missiles struck Ma'had targets in the jungle, exploding in massive fireballs and hurled a few enemy soldiers lifelessly into the air.

"We must plan to secure the beach, connecting our occupation with that of Colerica."

The skies were filled with the roar of jet engines that day, as F/A-18E/Fs flew many passes over the beachhead, taking reconaissance pictures. More F/A-18s and F-35s struck SAM sites and any opposittion encountered. Time and time again bumps struck the jungles for a five-mile deep, twenty-mile wide stretch beyond the beach.

The Wasp Amphibous Assault Ship launched the landing that night; accompanied by more F/A-18s flying armed reconaissance, F-14s flying CAP, and F-35s striking targets in the forest.

Five hundred elite naval forces (think SEALs) landed on the empty beach head and cautiously secured a fortified position. Arriving in LCAC's, they set up a very fortified position, machine guns ready. Several amoured amphibous assault vehicles slowly moved their way onshore. The air strikes had done a good job. Resistance was non existant. In groups, the navy elites headed southeast along the beach, gradually making their way to the Colercian beach.

The Tomzillian planes flew overhead and delivered their payload. Four massive explosions ensued and all of the enemy gunfire fell silent.

"This is Travis. You did good work. I'll send word to one of Special Forces team to find your downed pilot. Best of luck on your side of the island," he said and clicked off his headset radio.

Colonel Travis turned at the sight of more LCACs riding up onto shore. The CSS Jason Dawes, a Deep Sea Hovercraft Transport, had arrived to the fleet. They deployed Challenger II Main Battle Tanks as well as CAS Spider 4WD Fast Attack Jeeps to the shore along with an additional hundred plus soldiers. Tomahawk Assault and Transport Helicopters were flying in from the CSS Crusader. Suspended by cables were heavier hardware for the Colerican soldiers. CAS TC-10 MBTs, Challenger II MBTs, Fuchs Transportpanzer APCs, et all, were being deployed to the shores.

Sort-of-IC: More Colerican forces are going to be sent from the mainland of Colerica. They include, but are not limited to the following:

-CSS Titan: Thor Class Battleship

-CSS Nobility: Ticonderoga Class Guided Missile Cruiser
-CSS Invincible, CSS Warrior: Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigates
-CSS Invader, CSS Conqueror: Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ships
-CSS Intruder: Helicopter Assault Ship
-Atleast 2 more Ohio Class Subs

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Infantry Divisions have been deployed (80,000 Troops) with the 6th, 8th, and 9th ID's being held on standby, awaiting orders to deploy.

The 1st Armored (600 Challenger II MBT’s, 250 Leopard ZA5’s, 100 XT-V-15 MBT’s, 100 CAS TC-10 MBT’s, 50 Apocalypse II’s) is en route.

OOC: Is it day or night right now on Isle De Plata?

Colonel Mark Travis watched as the Tomahawk A & T helicopters finished unloading their delivery. Colerican soldiers scurried around, climbing aboard APCs and talking amongst themselves, preparing for the trek into the heart of the island and, ultimatly, the capital city.

"Sir," James approached. "We're picking up some activity to the west of us," he said.

"Hostiles?" Travis asked, expecting the answer.

"Yes, most likey. The Ma'dah is getting desperate, it looks. They're using anyone as soldiers. They've dragooned women and children into their forces. Reports coming through are saying that there is an advancing group of seventy plus armed boys. Under twelve years old, sir. Little kids," James said, stressing the point of children fighting repeatedly.

"I understand. We can't engage women or kids. They're non-combatents," he said.

"What if they hit us first, sir?" Morris asked.

"The people here don't like the Ma'dah. These are kids. They'll be scared off by the site of Challenger II rolling through their jungles," Travis replied. "I hope," he added.

"So you're saying don't shoot them?" Morris asked.

"Don't shoot them. Tag all the enemy soldiers you can. Don't kill the kids and women. Unless they fire on you first, with the intent of killing," Travis instructed.

Colonel Travis didn't like the sound of what the Tomzillian soldier had told him on the radio. Children. Who in God's name would be desperate enough to use children when fighting? That was absolutely deplorable.

Travis had other things to be concerned with. They had to start their trek through the jungle to get to the nearest city. Now they had a solid beachhead on Isla De Plata, and they had just came in contact with the Zoogie elites. This will go easy, he thought.

They had to get on that northern road. From there they could hit the first of Tadgenbar. Tadgenbar was closest city to the Colerican forces, and it was a top objective to take. Once there, they could mount their assault on the capital.

The admiral reviewed it. "That's bull," he said. "I don't care where the heck the leader is. The objective was made clear to us: secure the island. We've already mine-sweeped and bomb-sweeped the beach and surrounding sea. There's nothing there."

Meanwhile, five blips appeared on the sonar. "Looks like we've got company," grinned the admiral. "Are the four Vikings still in the air?"

The CSS Jackson Ridge sailed through the choppy seas as it approached Isla De Plata. The carrier group was large, but was necessary to protect the Ridge. Soon, it would rendezvous with the Colerican fleet and continue the assault on the Ma'dah.

***

Colonel Travis stopped dead in his tracks. He laid down in a proning position and signaled for his team members to do the same. Up ahead of them stood a pick-up truck mounted with a .50 caliber machine gun. A half a dozen gaurds stood next to it, talking amongst themselves. Travis lifted his M-4 carbine to level the sights on the head of the one of the Ma'dah soldiers. He took a breath and squeezed the trigger. The enemy soldier fell limply to the muddy ground. His Ma'dah partners raised their AK-74's to fire, and were quickly engaged with the Colerican soldiers. A soldier dove into the pick-up truck and grabbed control of the mounted machine gun. He rattled off several .50 caliber rounds at the Colerican troops until James pumped three rounds into his chest.

"That was a little intense. Anyone injured?" Hendrickson asked.

"Montclair took one in the right thigh. Looks pretty bad," another soldier said.

"Damn. We have to get him out of here," Travis said. "Call the convoy. They can take him," Travis said.

"And of us?" James replied.

"We're to stick to our orders. Lieutenant Faria told us to scout this road and get to Tagdenbar. And we're going to do exactly that. In Tagdenbar, we'll meet-up with Bayle's team and we'll start to secure the city," Travis said.

Colonel Mark Travis snuck behind a building. He signaled for his men to follow. He peered his head past the wall and saw a Ma'dah patrol group down the road. They had a rugged looking jeep standing parked next to them with what appeared to be a grenade launcher mounted to the jeep.

"This looks pretty tight, sir," James said.

"It will loosen up a little once we get air power. Which, by my calculations, should be right about.....now," Travis said.

Within seconds of Colonel Travis uttering those words, high above him, an F-117 Nighthawk released a 1,000 lb bomb. The explosion that ensued destroyed an entire building down the street from Travis and his men, showering the streets with debris. The gaurd patrol leaped into action and scurried towards the explosion site. Travis and his men saw the time to unload. They raised their weapons and fired, bringing down the four man patrol.

B-52 Stratofortresses soared over jungle just to the east of Tagdenbar, a site of advancing Ma'dah forces. Upon opening their bomb doors, they released hundreds of 'dumb' bombs onto the ground below. Explosions shook the jungle floor, devastating the enemy forces below.

***

B-2 Spirits zipped high above Tagdenbar. With laser percision, they released their payloads onto multiple buildings, absolutely obliterating their targets. Colonel Travis took cover as an explosion blasted apart a stone building across from him and his men.

"That was a bit close," Carington remarked.

"Keep moving. We're to do a complete sweep of these buildings up here. These air raids are buying our convoy the time it needs to get to the city. Just a little longer and we'll have enough men to overrun this place," Travis said, loading a fresh clip into his M-4 carbine.

"Let's hope so," James replied. "Let's hope so."

Travis radio crackled. "This is Lietenant Faria. Where are you?"

"This is Colonel Travis. We're in the first few road stretches of Tagdenbar. The heart of the airstrikes," Travis said.

"Any casualities?" Faria asked.

"One," Travis replied. "What's the sitrep on the rest of the Allied forces?" he added.

"The Zoogie's have pulled out. Some sort of emergency situation involving the Anti-Terror Army. Don't ask. The Tomzillians are bombarding Venkara in preparation for an invasion of the city. General Koren has authorized the landing of additional ships to the east of the Tomzillian fleet. They'll push their way through and meet up with the Tomzillian forces in Venkara. Sack the capital together," Faria informed.

"What of the Penguisiana forces?" Travis asked.

"They're supposed to take over the fortifications that The Zoogies had left and continue where they left off," Faria said.

"Be advised that the Ma'dah have Colerican prisoners. They shot down a TTH transport chopper southeast of Tagdenbar," Faria stated.

"Acknowledged," Travis replied. "You want to do me a favor? Tell our pilots to watch where they're aiming. We're almost getting fragged here," he continued.

Faria chuckled. "Will do. Out."

The CSS Jackson Ridge glided through the water slowly. The large Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier didn't have near the speed of it swift escorts, but was the hulk of the battle group. Outside of the CSS Victory, a Command Ship, the Jackson Ridge was the brains in the fleet, too. The fleet approached the northeastern shores of Isla De Plata, and Admiral Alexander Keller prepared for the onstart of war. Keller was no stranger to warfare, he had been through some of the toughest conflicts around. Twenty-two years in any nation's navy gives you experience.

"Admiral, we've just recieved word that Tomzillian General Homer Simpson has arranged for his ground forces to stall their advancement to Venkara long enough for us to play some catch up," an officer said as he hurried to the ship.

"Wise move. We better hurry then. We wouldn't to keep General Simpson or our Tomzillian friends waiting too long," Keller replied.

"Yes sir," the officer said and walked out of the wheel room.

Sort-of IC: This is the list of the fleet coming to the east of the Tomzillian fleet:
-CSS Jackson Ridge: Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier

-CSS Alatsar, CSS Zachara, CSS Randall: Arleigh Burke Class AEGIS Destroyers
-CSS Nobility: Ticonderoga Class Guided Missile Cruiser
-CSS Invincible, CSS Warrior: Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigates
-CSS Invader, CSS Conqueror: Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ships
-CSS Intruder: Helicopter Assault Ship
-Atleast 2 more Ohio Class Subs

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Infantry Divisions have been deployed (80,000 troops). The 6th, 8th, and 9th ID's (60,000 troops) have been also deployed. The 9th ID is being deployed to Isla Fantasmas, the small island north off the coast of Isla De Plata. They will sweep the island of Ma'dah forces.

The CSS Devastation, CSS Phantom, CSS Raze, and CSS Ghost will position themselves along the northern coastline and bombard key targets on shore. Together, Colerica and Tomzilla, will eliminate the evil that is the Ma'dah.

IC:

The large armored column slugged down the muddy jungle road. Within a short time, the Colerican convoy would be in Tagdenbar, to liberate the city. Once they reached Tagdenbar, the invasion of the city would commense. The Colericans would soon work on surrounding the city and closing in on it. The Ma'dah would have no place to run and the city would come under Colerican control. Forever liberated from the iron-grip of the Ma'dah ruling party.

***

The bombing raids had continued all throughout the night on Tagdenbar, devastating most of the city and routing out the Ma'dah forces from their hiding holes. Colonel Travis and his men were able to take a foothold in a series of buildings, where they could pick and choose their targets from there.

"Okay men, we only need to hold out a little longer. Our convoy is only a hour or two from us. Once our hardware and more troops get here, the Ma'dah will crumple like the paper bag they are," Travis explained.

"Yeah, key phrase being 'only need to hold out a little longer.' What happens if the Ma'dah bring in their hardware?" Hetherington asked.

"Our airstrikes have taken out their hardware, Hetherington. In effect, the Ma'dah is blind, mute, deaf, and defenseless. We've cut off their ability to find our positions. We've cut off all of their communications to outside forces. We've cut off all of of their communications amongst themselves. And we're cutting off their ability to defend themselves right now," Travis said.

Explosions continued to rock the city as planes soared high above, continually releasing their payloads onto Ma'dah forces and locations.

Colerica Imperial News is sad to release a confirmed list of United Empire casualities. A total of thirty-three Colerican soldiers have been killed in the war with Isla De Plata. An additional forty-nine injured. And seven are listed as missing in action as the result of a TTH transport helicopter being shot down.

Magistrate of State and the younger sister of the Emperor, Kressi Thra, released this statement in regards to the war. "The war with Isla De Plata is a noble action on our [UEC's] part. In war, sacrifices have to be made. Soldiers die. It is a most unfortunate thing to deal with, but we must realize that these brave soldiers are risking their lives to liberate the oppressed people of Isla De Plata."

Colerican military police led them to a room in the cabin of the Jackson Ridge. Inside the room sat a large table. Alexander Keller was seated at the head of the table with several Colerican and Tomzillian military officials around him.

Colerica Imperial News has been informed that the Ma'dah, the ruling party on Isla De Plata, have officially signed papers outlying their unconditional surrender to the United Empire of Colerica and the Democratic Republic of Tomzilla. The Ma'dah have surrendered after their leader, Adien Uraine, was killed by members of his own party. The exhausted Ma'dah underlyings flew to the CSS Jackson Ridge, where they signed their terms of surrender.

People are rejoicing throughout the United Empire as the war, seemingly, has come to a close. The main thing on people's minds now: the reconstruction of Isla De Plata. Allied airpower completely decimated all utilities that the Ma'dah had to its use, rendering it incapable of fighting. The United Empire of Colerica is expected to announce that it will place bids up for grabs on contracts to rebuild the infastructure of Isla De Plata. More on this later...

Mr. Tokugawa,

We are in full agreeance. The Ma'dah have officially surrendered, but loyalists of Adien Uraine will not go gentle into that good night. These men are trained killers and will not hesitate to wage a guerilla war with our two nation's soldiers. We must still advance into the cities of Isla De Plata and secure them. Only then can we finish routing out the Ma'dah loyalists.

Colerica Imperial News, confused with this startling news, has been informed that the core group of the former Ma'dah leadership has reformed, calling themselves the Ma'dah Reborn. They have, apparently, pledged to continue their war with Allied forces in Isla De Plata. This comes after three leaders of the Ma'dah signed an unconditional surrender onboard the CSS Jackson Ridge, just days ago. More on this later....

***

Colonel Mark Travis stood next to three other soldiers, relaxed and seemingly carefree. Now that the war with the Ma'dah was over, they didn't have to take things so carefully, and could relax in their efforts slightly.

"Colonel, you have a smoke?" Jackson asked.

"No," Travis replied cooly.

"Okay. Rison, you got a smoke?" Jackson asked, turning to another Colerican soldier.

"Yeah, hang on," the young soldier said, digging in his pack to find a pack of cigarettes.

Suddenly, an RPG screached through the air and slammed into the ground. The explosion that ensued violently tore apart Jackson and Rison. Travis was thrown to the ground from the force of the blast. He looked up just in time to see Ma'dah tanks, several of them, roaring down the muddy road.

Travis' radio came on to the sound of Lt. Faria. "Travis," he said.

"LT, what do you got for me?" Travis said, picking himself up quickly.

"Apparently, the leadership of the Ma'dah have recanted their surrender. They're calling themselves the Ma'dah Reborn and are headed up by Adien Uraine's son, Mage Uraine. We're back at war, boys. The Zoogies are back and the Tomzillians have decided to stay. Get ready," he said.

"Sir, recon has shown enemy forces congregating in a forest area not far from a beach head suitable for landing. What should be do?"

"Bomb the holy crap out of them."

Onboard one of the modified Nimitz carriers, a single F/A-18F is being readied. Fuel has been stripped to the bare minimum, and all armament has been removed except for two gigantic bombs on the wing. It took off, wobbling slightly, then regained stability and made a steady flight towards the destination: a forest where soldiers had been spotted in sporadic groups, with a few vehicles. What was needed was a nice, effective demolishing of that entire area.

Flying to its destination at angels 10, the Hornet targeted and dropped one gargantuan JDAM-guided 6000-lb bomb. Quickly the aircraft began to slant towards the right, which was the plan that had been worked out. After floating right and losing altitude, the pilot rolled the Hornet back to a level position, which took some effort, as all the weight was now on the right side. His WIO then released the other bomb, and the aircraft, after regaining stability, egressed.

Two magnificent explosions lit up the night. They would only have to do it once more.

The Ma'dah Reborn tanks continued down the muddy road, firing their main guns at the Colerican forces. A shell struck a humvee, blowing it to pieces and raining debris to the ground. Colonel Travis and the soldiers around him ran for a vantage point as the approaching Ma'dah Reborn forces pursued. Travis figured there were at least nine tanks chasing them. Had Travis been with the rest of the Colerican forces, and not with the very small advanced recon team, they would have been able to take out these nine tanks with little problems. However, they were not with the convoy, and had no heavy armor for their use. All that they had were two Warrior Fighting Vehicles, which was now reduced to one Warrior Fighting Vehicle.

"This is Colonel Mark Travis of the Imperial Army. Does anyone copy? I need an EVAC immediatly!" he shouted into his headset radio.

Travis tucked the pistol into his belt line and walked carefully to the door. Opening the door slowly, he walked out. To his left, he saw three downed Tomzillian soldiers with medics attending to them. More injured soldiers, both Tomzillian and Colerican, laid on the in front of him. He crepted around the corner of a building and retrieved a rifle he found on the ground. It was a Colerican NE-19, something he was familar with. He checked the containers on the dead Colerican soldier who the weapon belonged to and found three full clips. He raised the rifle and lined up the sights on two Ma'dah soldiers to the left of him. He spit off several rounds and the soldiers fell dead. Travis threw himself into a commando roll and rolled to hide behind a set of crates piled next to a jeep.

A brief message after announcing 80,000 Fighting troops have arrived as the beginning force deployed,to further asses if more are needed or not, with special equipment offsensive and defensive, involving patriot missles and missile detector systems, bombs proof facilitys and tents for optimal military safety. We would not get involved unless we were sure after long reflection and view of the situation, that it was the right thing to do and that the enemy was a threat,to the WORLD and PEACE,not a puppet used for a government giving reason to go to war. We would only enter this danger zone when we were ready with our own equipment and we are now so we will join in against the Ma'dah and reach out a hand to Isla de Plata if the people there really are striving and wanting prosperity and freedom and are neglected of it against their wishes,in different ways. also we are sending asizeable task force ,numbers we're going to keep anonomous for top secret reasons but they are called the blue angles,a special task force simply for recovery and rescue missions and to flock innocent civilians out of harms way,by either stealth tactics or head on tactics. That is all for now,let us get try and end this threat quickly so the rebuilding process and homeland issues can beissues that obtain our sole attention. We will stand with our friends Of Colerica and Tomzilla Thank you.

Tomzillian/Colerican army camp under attack, Col. Edward Jager

After the main assault on the camp, Ma'dah troops were now heading back to the jungle.

Edward: Fire on them as they flee! Take their wounded captive.

Emplaced machine guns fired into the fleeing troops.

Edward: Fire! Fire! Fire! Kill them as they fl...

Suddenly, Edward felt great pains in both his thighs. He reached his hand down to the spot where it hurt and whenhe brought it back up it was covered in blood. He fell to his knees.

Edward: MEDIC!!!

Medics carried him away on a strecher as the final troops disappered into the jungle...

Travis lowered the rifle and jogged over to a mixed group of Tomzillian and Colerican troops. He surveyed the surroundings. Several men were lying wounded, some were dead. A hummer was tipped on its side, engulfed in flames. Medics and other troops scurried around the scene, trying to give assistance to the wounded.

"Colonel Travis," a voice called out.

Travis turned. "What is it--" he said, his voice trailing off when he saw who was talking to him. "What are you doing here?" he asked, rediscovering his tongue.

Standing before Mark Travis was a person he was very familar with. This was a person he had known his entire life. This was his younger sister. Lieutenant Allie Travis.

"What do you think, Mark?" she said. "I'm a soldier, just like you. I'm fighting for the United Empire. You're hurt. Why are you fighting?" she replied.

"I'm doing my duty. My injuries fairing. I was protecting my fellow troops," he replied.

"So am I," she said. "You can't treat me like I'm a little kid anymore, Mark. I'm nineteen. This is the Imperial Army. This is war," she started.

"I'm not treating you like a kid at all, Alexis. I know how old you are. I know this is the Imperial Army, and I damn-well know this is war. I'm two hours removed from crashing in a helicopter. I'm two hours removed from being chased by nine Ma'dah tanks, running for my life. Don't start with the 'this is war,' because I KNOW this is war," he said, emphatically.

"A, don't call me Alexis. You know how much I hate people calling me by my full name. B, I know you've been through all of that. That's why I'm worried about you. You're fighting after being lucky enough to survive a TTH crash. God damn Mark, you're one lucky son of a bitch. Count your blessings for once, before you're running GI Joe-style into combat," Allie said, trying to reason with her older brother.

"Don't start with me. This conversation is over. I'm an officer and I'm pulling rank. You're dismissed, Lieutenant," Travis snapped.

Allie rolled her eyes disheartedly and did as she was ordered to. She turned her back to Colonel Travis and walked over to a pair of medics who were working on a down Tomzillian soldier.

General Kayne paced inside the command tent of the Colerican central base. The sunlight streamed through a few windows in the tent walls as he walked.

"Sir," a communication soldier said to Kayne.

"What is it?" the Colerican general asked.

"We've just recieved word that the Tomzillians believe they will have Venkara within a few days. They're doing some heavy bombardment," he said.

"Who's their general in charge of the bombardments?" Kayne questioned.

"Uh," the soldier said, looking at a clip boad in his hand. "Aso...Yamamoto Aso, sir," he said.

"Get on the wire and tell this Aso to make sure there is minimum civillian deaths. We're ousting the Ma'dah, not innocent civillians," he ordered.

"Yes sir," the soldier replied.

C-130 cargo planes soared over Tagdenbar, high above the smoking city. Their cargo doors opened up and hundreds of paratroopers jumped from the planes. The paratroopers made their slow descent to the city as they glided through the air.

***

Tanks rolled forward down the muddy trail, armored APCs followed them. The Colerican convoy was, once again, reaching Tagdenbar. Not long from then, they would ride through the streets and begin to liberate the city, routing out any Ma'dah Reborn soldiers they could find.

Colonel Travis' headset radio buzzed with Lieutenant Faria's voice.

"What do you have for me, LT?" Travis asked.

"We're moving. General Kayne has placed you, again, in the advanced recon group," Christian started.

"Going where?" Travis replied.

"Mordga. It's time we finish this. We have troops deployed in Tagdenbar right now. ETA on the convoy to Tagdenbar is 4 hours. The city will fall to us. The Tomzillians are knocking right on the door of Venkara. United Empire forces are coming down from the north to join up with the Tomzillians. The major target left is Mordga. It's the one we haven't hit much at all. Airstrikes concentrated on Venkara, Tagdenbar, Jumun, and other key points. A lot of the Ma'dah have fled to either Isla Fantasmas, where our 9 ID is now, or have gone to Mordga. Mordga will be the toughest of all places to take, and will be the height of resistance, we believe," Lieutenant Faria informed.

"Understood. Anything else, LT?" he asked.

"Yeah. Stop calling me LT. I'm your CO now," he said.

"You were promoted?" Travis replied.

"Damn straight. Brigadier General Faria now," he said.

"You jumped from a First Lieutenant to Brigadier over night? How in hell did that happen?" Travis said as he walked over to a table.

"Brig. General Morn was...relieved of duty. They needed a man to take his spot. General Kayne found me and boosted me up," Faria said.

"You just jumped about ten ranks. That's real nice to--" Travis started. "Christ!" Travis shouted.

Faria heard Travis shout over the radio. The next thing he could hear was gunfire. "Travis!" Faria shouted back.

Colonel Travis watched as explosions rocked the Tomzillian/Colerican basecamp. Another Ma'dah Reborn attack. He retrieved a rifle from a table and then ran towards a tent to alert more troops. Travis wasn't five steps from the table he picked up the rifle from, when a RPG struck the table, obliterating it. Shards of wood were sent everywhere and Travis dove headfirst into the tent to shield himself from being skewed with a splinter. He rolled on the ground and got to his feet.

"Move!" Travis shouted to the men that were in the tent.

The troops were a mix of Colerican and Tomzillian and they had been already equiping themselves to go out and fight. They retrieved their respective rifles and ran out the tent, Travis with them. He felt his beltline to confirm that the pistol James had given him was still there.

James, Travis thought. All of the wounded men. They're going to be targets.

Travis hurried his way to the tent where James was at. Rushing out of the door was his sister.

"Allie," Travis shouted over the noise and confusion of combat.

"I know!" she shouted back, raising the rifle she had slung around her shoulder.

Out of the corner of Travis' eye he spotted an RPG screeching through hte air. He grabbed Allie and leaped away from the tent as quickly as possible. An explosion violently struck the tent, throwing Travis and his sister further away from it. Travis shieled Allie under him as the tent collapsed only meters from the two.

Colonel Travis laid over his sister, still shielding her from the explosion of the tent. They slowly got up, exchanged glances, and grabbed their rifles. Together they ran towards a tip over humvee. Adjacent to the humvee were three Ma'dah soldiers, hiding behind a tipped-over vehicle themselves. As soon as Mark and Allie were five feet from the humvee, a shoulder-fired missile struck the ground to the side of them. As it screeched through the air, Travis quickly grabbed his sister and forcefully threw her and himself as far away from the blast as possible.

Travis got up from the ground. Brushing some of the mud off his uniform, he helped his sister to her feet. They exchanged glances and jogged over to the where the medical tent was. Now a smoking hole; the tent had been completely obliterated, killing all the men inside. Travis fell to one knee, and lowered his head to silently mourn the loss of his men. His headset radio buzzed with Faria's voice once again.

"Travis, are you there?" Faria asked.

"I'm here," Travis said softly.

"Good. Prepare to move out. General Koren, General Kayne, and the Tomzillian generals have gotten sick of the Ma'dah attacks on our basecamps. We're doing a heavy air bombardment of the jungle around the camp and then we're going to set up a perimeter," he said.

"How is this affect me?" Travis replied.

"You're going back into the advanced recon group. We're taking Tagdenbar, come hell or high water. You're to scout out the streets again, establish a secure zone, and wait for reenforcements. Victor Bayle's Special Forces group will coordinate with you," Faria answered.

"What men am I taking? I'm the only one left from the original group," he said.

Faria paused. "I'm sorry to hear that. Gather eight other soldiers. Your choice," he informed.

"Okay. Out," Travis said.

Allie turned to him. "I'm going with you," she said confidentally.

"No you're not," Travis shot back.

"Yes I am. You know I'm more than capable of doing this. I'm going with you," she said.

Travis sighed. There wasn't much use in arguing with her. He knew she was highly skilled and could more than hold her own in scouting operations. She was an obvious choice for his team. "Alright," Travis said. "You're coming."

Colonel Mark Travis slowly crept along the jungle floor, carefull to make as little sound as possible. Behind him trailed eight other Colerican soldiers; Selor, Hamre, Sharper, Bailey, Douglas, Owens, Warner, and his sister, Allie Travis. All of the soldiers in the advanced recon group were spread out in a v-shape, like a flock of geese. They carefully proned their way to the edge of a muddy dirt road that led into Tagdenbar.

Directly in front of them was a small stone building with two guards on patrol, watching for anyone entering down the road. One guard sat in a chair inside the building, while another paced outside it. Travis signaled Warner, his team sniper, with a wave of his hand. Warner acknowledged the order and raised his rifle. He levelled the crosshairs on the roaming guard. With a squeeze of the trigger, the man fell dead. Instantly, the guard in the building became alarmed and reached for an AK-47 he had inside the small stone room.

"Dinetchi Monte!" the guard shouted in Plataeese. "Come out!"

The guard started to move. He knelt down to feel the pulse of his fallen soldier and that is percisely when Warner let off another round. The bullet struck the soldier in the temple, dispatching him straight. Travis signaled to advance to the road.

Travis stood crouching behind the remains of a bombed-out building on the outskirts of Tagdenbar. His team was positioned behind various other structures beside him. Colerican airpower had continued to bomb enemy fortifications in Tagdenbar until nothing was left. Travis' headset radio crackled.

"Travis," Brig. General Christian Faria said.

"Tell me it's good news," Travis replied quickly.

"It is. Our convoy has reached Tagdenbar," he said, before being interrupted by Travis.

"Then where are they?" he asked.

"They're there. They should arrive right about..." Faria said, slowing the last words down as he spoke.

Suddenly, large explosions could be heard only a few blocks from Travis' location.

"Now," Faria said. "I've got better news. The Tomzillians have plunged the dagger through the heart of Venkara. They're storming the palace as we speak," he said.

"That's good to hear, but if you don't mind my team...we've got a city to liberate," Travis said and clicked the frequency of his headset radio off.

OOC: Aha! The thread shows up again. I was beginning to think I'd lost it.

IC:

For weeks the carrier group had circled the islands, making airstrikes, not landing. Their supplies had not yet arrived; and so without light amphibous attack tanks and other armoured vehicles, as well as without the WASP (damaged in a routine training and in repair) they were without LCAC's.

Louis was flying an armed reconaissance patrol in his F-18F. Descending to just under 5000 feet, his $50 million aircraft began making rounds around the main island, taking pictures for any clues of resistence and machinery to bomb.

The routine patrols were a piece of cake.

Without warning, alarms flashed all across his HUD. Almost simultaenously, his RIO said, "SAM!" Frantically he scanned the ground for SAMs, while Louis kept a look out for the incoming missile. At last he targeted the silo. The build was quickly displayed on both screens. "SARH," they muttered at the same time. Flying eratically would usually serve to through it off; as long as it lost its lock. The warnings still blaring, Louis watched gladly as the missile sailed past his plane.

"The warnings should have stopped by now," he mused to himself.

Instantly he realized what was going on. Quickly he banked the Super Hornet, while asking, "Radar or IR?"

"Agh...it's IR, sir..."

Too late. no sooner had he launched a flare and rolled to the opposite direction than a huge explosion rocked the plane from the back.

Louis desperately tried to save his flaming aircraft. "What have we got left? Radio the carrier!"

"Communications are all dead, sir, left engine completely gone and right engine blastled pretty badly. Control lines damaged..."

A second explosion rocked the craft. Another SAM had struck it, despite Louis's best attempts to control the plane, which failed. He had no shot at avoiding it.

"Ah ... yes..starboard landing gear ripped off, one wing damaged, and -"

"Oh shut up," snapped Louis. "We've got to eject."

"No kidding, sir."

Trying his best to maneuver out to sea, and sending out every sort of alert possible to his carrier, Louis at last pulled the ejection lever and he and his RIO were propelled into the air. He looked down and nearly fainted. They were due to land in dense jugle, unless some miraculous wind would blow them hundreds of meters out to sea.

Challenger II tanks rolled through the streets of Tagdenbar, engaging Ma'dah Reborn groups where they existed. While the tanks eliminated Ma'dah armor, Colerican infantry and Special Forces waved through the city, taking Tagdenbar building by building, city block by city block.

Special Forces commander, Captain Victor Bayle, peered around the remains of a brick wall to see a rusted pickup truck, mounted with a .50 caliber machine gun, parked. Four Ma'dah soldiers stood around it, one manning the machine gun. The soldiers looked exhausted, anxious, and perhaps even scared. It appeared as though they didn't even wish to fight.

Bayle held up his hand so that his teammates could see his signals. He held all five fingers up. Slowly, he dropped each finger, one at a time, into a curled fist. As soon as he tucked his thumb to the fist, he shook his hand, signaling his team to move out. The Special Forces soldiers moved out quickly and fired their weapons, eliminating the Ma'dah Reborn threat before even knew what happened to them. Bayle's team advanced down the alley, and took up a position near the entrance to another building.

***

Colonel Mark Travis and the remaing members of his team lay pinned under heavy enemy fire. His original team had consisted of himself, Selor, Hamre, Sharper, Bailey, Douglas, Owens, Warner, and his sister, Allie Travis. Now he was down to just Bailey, Douglas, Owens, Warner, and Allie. They had been pinned inside the remains of what appeared to be a convienance store of some kind, but had been badly damaged during the air campaign. Glass, from two large storefront windows, was shattered all over the floor. Store products were thrown askew on the ground, their contents spilled. Travis and his sister were crouched behind the checkout table, while Bailey, Owens, and Douglas were hiding in the isles (spelling for that word?) and Warner, who had taken a round through the leg, laid on the ground behind a large stack of crates. There were Ma'dah Reborn forces entrenched all around the building, even a humvee was parked outside, to prevent Travis' escape.

He looked at his sister. For the first time in a while, Alexis Travis looked scared. Her shoulder length blond hair was tussled all about her head, and her eyes carried a distinct look of uneasiness. A mixture of sweat and blood streaked down her face. She truly looked frightened.

"What's wrong?" Allie asked, after noticing her brother staring at her.

"Nothing," Colonel Travis let off under his breath.

Travis clicked his headset microphone to Bailey's frequency. "Bailey."

"Yes, boss?" the soldier replied.

"How are you guys holding up over there?" he asked.

"We're fairing. You?" Sanders Bailey said.

"Alive," Travis answered.

"I don't know how much more of this we can handle. I'm almost out of ammunition," Bailey said.

"I'm down to two and half clips," Travis said.

For a second, Colonel Travis patted the USP Compact holstered to his thigh. He then felt his beltline, where, like before, was the 03SI that James had given back at the camp.

"Pistols and knives won't win this war," Allie whispered to her brother.

"We have to get in contact with Bayle's team. He's our only chance of getting out of here," Travis said.

"I agree. You know his frequency?" Bailey questioned.

"No," Travis said. He thought for a second. "But I know to get it," he said.

Their conversation was cut short when a Ma'dah Reborn soldier shouted and ran into the building through the blown-out windows. It took less than a second for Owens to level his rifle and release half a dozen rounds into the soldier's chest.

"They're as dumb as dirt," Owens said. "They just keep comin'."

"They're testing us," Travis said, calculatingly. "They're trying to find weaknesses to exploit," Travis added.

"This isn't looking good, sir," Douglas said over the radio.

"I agree," Warner chimed in.

"We have two options. We contact Bayle and hold it out until his team arrives, or we fight it out. Either way, I don't think we're going to get out of this city alive," Travis said grimly.

The downed aircraft caused immediately alarm in the control room of the Z.M.S. Beaudric, the Nimitz-class carrier currently in command of the battle group. When the remark "One of our recon went down," was heard, immediately plans began of a rescue mission. Aircraft were being launched.

In roughly an hour, all flights were ready. 20 F-35 aircraft with both bombs and air-to-air missiles flew at low speeds to provide escort to helicopters readying for flight, while EA-6B Prowlers jammed enemy radar nearby (escorted by F-14D Tomcats). A single Hawkeye, flanked by two F-18F's, provided AWACs coverage. Two flights of F/A-18F (with three aircraft each) were sent, one to perform SEAD, one to patrol for enemy resistence such as ships.

Two empty MH-53J helicopters would perform the rescue operation; while three armed CH-47 Chinooks took off with armed personell. Six CH-53E's carried LAV's to land on the beachhead and explore the area, while more of the 53 family of helicopters transported soldiers (35 each) to the island.

The Wasp-class was streaming back to the beach and would make a landing later that night. The landing spot had been cleared; but a SAM out of nowhere had shot down an F-18F several miles away.

Three teams of betweent 35 and 40 soldiers were airlifted, along with six light amoured assault vehicles, and 90 more soldiers were dropped off to secure the beachhead (by the Chinooks) and take care of any resistence encountered; a little further from the landing area.

As expected, no naval opposition in the form of cruisers or destroyers was seen; however, a brown water submarine was spotted early on by one of the F-35s and taken out before harm could be done. It was apparently out of ammunition.

Nearly ten SAM/AAA sites were discovered and taken down by the Hornets. Two SAM's were fired, but both missed this time. One of the hornets took some flak while flying low to avoid a SAM, but was not shot down. Our crews are now searching for the lost pilot (one of the teams was dropped off at the sight of the plane's last signals and has already located the wreckage before landing. The other team was sent to the wreckage, while the third was dropped off not far off to clear the way of the resistence left (most were now concentrated in cities) in the forest.

Battleship Godzillasaur, Admiral Tom Shadle

Tom: Gentlemen, I have called you here to make the plans to take the final Ma'dah Reborn stronghold of Morgda. The final palace in Venkara has just been taken. So... any suggestions?

Harry Makin, a young general, steps up amoung all the senior officers.

Makin: How about we help the Colericans at Tagdenbar first with paratroops and then take Morgda.
Tom: That seems to be a good idea, but we would need Colerican permission first. This meeting is adjourned.

Colonel Travis clicked the frequency dial on his headset radio to that of Brigadier General Christian Faria.

"Travis?" Faria said.

"I need to know Bayle's frequency. We're pinned down in a building and I've already lost three men," Travis started.

"He's on coded-channel A4. Travis, listen. General Koren has agreed with the Tomzillian forces to have them aid us here in Tagdenbar. They're going to paradrop in soldiers and supplies. Keep your eyes open for Tomzillian friendlies," Faria said.

"Understand. Out," Travis replied quickly and flipped off the frequency.

He turned the dial until it clicked into position at A4. "Bayle," Travis began.

"Who is this?" a voice said quietly.

"Mark Travis," he answered.

"Glad to hear your voice, Colonel. Where in blazes are you?" he said.

"We're pinned down in a building south of the Radlem river bridge. Across the street from the remains of the Ma'dah's Ministry of Internal Affairs building," Travis responded.

"Consider my team en route. ETA fifteen minutes max," Victor Bayle replied.

"I sure hope so. Out," Travis replied.

Victor Bayle's team moved through the city streets quickly, avoiding contact with Ma'dah Reborn forces as often as possible. They skirted their way through alleyways and found themselves only half a city block from the building where Colonel Travis and his team were pinned down. Bayle peered around the corner of a brickwall to see three Ma'dah Reborn tanks roaming the street. On the ground were two dozen plus infantry.

"Damn," Bayle spat out quietly to his team. "This doesn't look good."

"Call an airstrike, boss?" Lexington asked.

"Affirmative. Make it quick, too. We don't know how long Travis and his men can hold out for.

OOC: Want me to do the airstrike?

IC:

Flanked by five Zoogie-class hydrofoil attack ships (think Sarancha), the Wasp-class arrived at the fleet. The next morning, ten LCACs, making several rounds, had landed 240 soldiers as well as a considerable amount of Humvees, LAVs, AAVs, Howitzers, 5-ton trucks, and even a couple of M1A3 tanks, onto the shore.
The teams searching for the downed pilot was facing no opposition in the jungle – well, almost none. Small teams of guerillas were fired at, and in the course of the firing, two soldiers were injured. They were flown by helicopter back to the carrier this morning.
The wreckage of the plane was recovered, but the black box and reconnaissance equipment was missing. Otherwise, the area was fully secured – our planners now look to collaborate in the taking of the last Ma’dah stronghold…

Louis meanwhile, had been blindfolded and transported out of the jungle – in a jeep, he reckoned, by the sound of the engine and the bumpy ride. He knew he was captured, but did not have the slightest clue where his RIO was – perhaps he was bound next to him?
He found out soon. The jeep pulled to a stop, and he was roughly ushered into an alleyway. They were in a city, and the roar of tanks was ever closer. Almost compulsively, his hands moved to a bound position, although they weren’t truly bound. His blindfold was torn off, and he got a clear look at his captors – one professional soldier who stared daggers at him, fingering an M-16; and two casual-looking guerillas who looked like they didn’t know a thing about fighting. New recruits, he told himself. Their AK-47s weren’t even on them; he saw one hanging on the handle of the jeep. His own semi-automatic rifle was in his survival pack, which had been confiscated to the trunk.
He saw his RIO, whose hands were bound. They eyed each other warily. They knew they would be shot already, if the enemy did not feel like interrogating. They mouthed to each other silently: not a word.
Louis suddenly felt a lump in his chest. A very big, oddly shaped lump. He looked up, and saw the soldier leaving, giving curt orders to the guerillas, who stood at attention. Louis and his RIO were sitting in corners of the alleyway. The soldier left, driving off in another jeep – full, thought Louis, judging by the voices coming from it.
He concentrated again on his lump. Sitting in the darkness of the alleyway, nobody would notice. He shifted slightly so his back was to one of the two side walls. His other hand slowly reached into his shirt – and felt a pistol. He already knew it was loaded. The thought was liberating. His RIO didn’t notice; he was staring dully at the floor. He couldn’t do anything anyways, as his hands were bound.
But mine are not! The thought was liberating.
One of the guerillas muttered something, and the other responded. They both turned around to the jeep and reached for their rifles – didn’t make since to guard without being armed, did it?
Louis seized his chance. Grabbing the pistol, he whirled to his feet and in a split-second aimed, and shot at one soldier, whose back was turned. The shock on the other’s face had barely registered when he shot him as well.
Louis ran to the jeep and recovered his back. He also donned some of the dead soldier’s clothing, though the jacket had blood stains on it. Turning to his RIO, Brian Johnson, he cut off his bonds and handed him his survival bag.
However, inside the jeep’s trunk a greater prize was discovered – a single ammunition belt, and an M-4. As Brian gathered the two AK-47s the guerillas were reaching, Louis slung the M-4 over his shoulder. “You could pass for a Mu’dah,” he observed of Brian, who had also put some army clothes of the dead guerillas over his pilot suit.
Louis rummaged the trunk of the tank some more – grenades, he saw. Useful. Various cans of food....and then…
“Holy….”
He couldn’t get his sentence finished, as his jaw had already dropped. An anti-tank weapon was in the tank, along with several loads of ammunition.
“Where did they get this?” he wondered. There had to be considerable funding for the Mu’dah…but from where?
Bringing the weapon up front, Louis decided it would be best to drive in the jeep, so as not to arouse suspicion. The dead soldiers were tossed into the backseat. Perhaps they would pass as two carrying the wounded…the sound of tanks approached…Johnson started the ignition, and the jeep rolled forward…while Louis decided what to do next.

His radio clicked in his pack, and static fizzed out. He remembered then - they still had communications. Several buildings in the city were completely empty. The Mu'dah had caused the evacuation of the city, and used some buildings as their strongholds...these were marked by signs on the buildings and some parked jeeps.

Louis found an empty building, and together, they smuggled the arms and everything they could salvage into the building. They made their way to the top, and on the top, they found a helipad.

"This doesn't look good," observed Johnson.

"I agree..." Louis looked down at the busy streets below. Three tanks roamed freely, flanked by a dozen or so soldiers; he couldn't see all of them clearly.

"If a helicopter comes..."

"We just have to hope they don't got any." He looked again at the anti-tank launcher, and changed his mind. "We have to hope they don't use this."

Louis used his radio. He wondered if it still worked. Setting the frequency to his carrier, he radioed his present status and position. Nothing came back. He waited.

"Red squadron, we're coming for you," came a voice from the radio. Louis was overjoyed.

"You may have a problem, though," he radioed back. "This city is infested with Mu'dah. They've got tanks...christ, it's swarmed with rebels. Probably have SAM's too...in the city...wonder where they get all the funding...you might have to wait...over."

"Don't worry, our teams are heading towards the city now, over. The fleet has fortified a beach head and several teams are moving towards the city, over."

"How many men?"

"A hundred and forty or so...they've got a few tanks, AAVs, APCs, and LAVs with them...you're in good hands."

"I sure hope so...end com." He switched his radio off.

"The tanks..." murmured Johnson from his side. He immediately realized what he was talking about. They had one shot. They had better make it good...the tanks were lined up and the soldiers close next to them...if they could maybe get two in one hit...they had two loads of ammunition...

"They're close together," he noted, setting up the anti-tank weapon. "We've got one shot...do you want to risk this?"

"They are coming anyways...we can hide out inside the building if necessary."

"Let's do it then..."

Louis took careful aim. One chance to destroy the tanks...one chance...he fired.

The missile shot at the tanks, and veered off course. It landed several feet forward, and two or three feet to the left of its intended destination...and exploded.

The impact was tremendous. The building on the side of the city street had several windows blown out, and was damaged greatly on one side, and several soldiers were burned. Louis checked one last time before he left to go inside the building. A single tank was charred black and burning, while the others had some parts damaged. He hadn't missed badly...

"Hurry!" hissed Johnson, and the went inside the building, hoping to god they could hide for as long as necessary. But the truth was, they were now trapped inside a building, and the enemy had seen the blast come from their direction.

They made their way to a window facing the enemy...several jeeps were now headed their direction, with some soldiers...commotion filled the streets...

"Last round," muttered Johnson, knocking out a window. Before it even crashed and shattered on the street below, Louis had fired another missile into the enemy...it did less damage than before, but effectively blocked a street and set a jeep on fire, soldiers jumping out of it, beating flames off their backs. And then a tank turned towards the building...the turret ready to fire...Johnson and Louis both pulled back with nothing but their guns.

A massive fireball erupted in the street, just meters from Victor Bayle's team. They crouched down behind the remains of a brickwall to shield themselves from the debris flung through the air.

"What the hell caused that?" Req asked.

Bayle examined the damage caused by the explosion. His best guess was that it was caused by a shoulder-fired anti-armor weapon, but he couldn't be sure. One of the Ma'dah Reborn tanks stood badly burned with smoke billowing into the sky. Ma'dah soldiers lay dead on the ground, some smoking as well. There was a rush of panic in the streets as Ma'dah Reborn forces flooded in. Bayle and his team fell back, behind a building, and into an alleyway.

Suddenly, they hear another explosion. This one was closer than the last, it seemed. Bayle tucked out just enough to see a Ma'dah Reborn soldier run out engulfed in flames, screaming in pain. He pulled his head away and looked the three other members of his elite team.

"RPG?" Lexington asked.

"No, not by the sound of it. Did you hear that slight whistle through the air? Anti-armor, shoulder-fired," Bayle said.

The explosion was defeaning. Colonel Mark Travis stuck his head up just slighty to see that a vast majority of the Ma'dah soldiers that were pinning his team down inside the convienance store had now traveled down the street. Quickly, a second explosion occured.

"What's going on?" Allie asked, briefly touching the gash on her forehead.

"Warner, what do you see?" Travis shouted to his team sniper inside the building.

"They're on the move, sir. Lot's of them. Humvees, tanks, infantry. They're all down the street, though. We have a window," he said.

"Move. Move fast," Travis shouted.

He and his team members got to their feet and ran to the two blown-out windows in the front of the store. They quickly darted out of the convienance store and wisked their way down to the right of the street, away from the Ma'dah forces.

Louis and Johnson were now hiding in some corner of the building, hoping that they would be hard to find, and even harder to kill. They found a room with only one window, which was tinted, and plenty of areas to hide. They locked the door, fortified the lock, and hid with guns at ready.

Meanwhile, four M1A3 Abrams rolled towards the city, along with several APCs, LAVs, HMMWVs, and a single MRLS. Being the fanatical aerial warfare freaks we are, an air strike was called in as well - two F-35s with 2 two thousand-lb bombs each to take out any enemy tank columns, and four F/A-18Es to take out any SAM or artillery found in the city.

More importantly, an MH-53J rescue helicopter, flanked by two naval AH-1s, was making its way to the city behind everything else.

The heavy line of Zoogie armoured vehicles prepared for an encounter, while its aircraft made preliminary strikes...

Travis turned into the alleyway to the right of the gas station and moved his team behind the convienance store. To their right, they could see a hint of Ma'dah vehicles making their way up the street, towards the remains of a Ma'dah office building.

"Allie, get the nearest friendly pilot on the horn and tell them we need an airstrike on an advancing column of Ma'dah forces," Travis said.

"Got it," she replied.

Allie Travis flicked the dial on her headset radio to an appropriate frequency. "This is Lieutenant Allie Travis of the Colerican Imperial Army. The two men kept their distance from the site of the strike, in case of both Ma'dah retaliation and another aeral sweep by the Zoogie fighters. Bailey rolled, but Douglas wasn't that lucky. Two bullets struck him, bringing him down hard to the floor.

"Douglas!" Bailey shouted. He flicked on his radio to signal the rest of the team, all of whom were still waiting outside the building. "Man down! Repeat, man down!" he shouted.

Bailey hid behind a stack of crates. He could here at least two soldiers exchanging words in Plataeese to eachother. The faint smell of cigarette smoke lingered in the stale air. Bailey raised his assualt rifle and peeked his head past the corner of the crates very slowly. He saw a Ma'dah soldier kneeling, and a second soldier stood, weapon raised. Bailey felt ill when he saw what the man was doing. He was arming a bomb.

"Nezi ara nelga?" the standing soldier asked in Plataeese. "Is it prepped?"

The other soldier stood up and nodded. Together, they turned to a flag of Isla De Plata that was pinned up on the wall, and saluted it. They looked at eachother and shook hands. One of the soldiers raised a deadman switch and clicked a button.

General Kayne sat before other Colerican military leaders. General Koren, the commander of all Colerican military forces in Isla De Plata, sat to his right.

"We are to do percision airstrikes in Tagdenbar. We can't risk the chance of hitting our own forces or other friendlies. From my understanding, the city should be under Allied control within a handful of days. The Ma'dah is on the run from Tagdenbar. They're going to make their last stand at Morgda, this is certain. Mage Uraine is gambling everything his regime has left on successfully defending Morgda from our forces. Uraine should learn that when you gamble, you evventually lose. An immense United Empire air campaign, in conjunction with Zoogie and Tomzillian airpower, will devastate any chance of major resistance by the Ma'dah at Morgda," Kayne said.

"I agree. However, what of civillian causualties in Morgda? How are we to avert those?" Lieutenant General Quinton Aravon asked.

"Our reconossaince photos show that civillians have been fleeing from Morgda on a daily basis by the thousands. However, undercover contacts within the Ma'dah regime who are working for us, have revealed that Mage Uraine has ordered his men to kill everyone who attempts to flee the city. We're looking at a potential of thousands of innocents killed by Uraine," Five-Star General Koren answered.

"Our undercover contacts have also revealed that Mage Uraine, himself, is in Morgda. If we capture or kill him, the rest will tumble like a deck of cards. Cut the head off the snake, the snake dies," Brigadier General Harrison Greggors said.

"We have to find Uraine first. We will have to work with two-fronts. One to concentrate on Tagdenbar, and one to concentrate on Morgda," Lieutenant General Aravon said.

"I disagree. We must focus soley on one or the other with ground forces. Give Brigadier General Faria enough time in Tagdenbar to mop the Ma'dah and then switch focus to Morgda," General Kayne responded.

"I agree with General Kayne. Allow Faria time to finish the work in Tagdenbar and then we'll concentrate our full efforts on Morgda," Azben Koren replied.

"Then we are decided?" Kayne said.

All of the men shook their heads in agreement. The decision had been made.

OOC: You can do pretty much anything you want. It's going to fly out but you can tell the pilots what to do, if necessary.

A fresh wave of precision air strikes is being conducted over the city. That day, nearly a hundred bombs, mostly JDAM-and Laser-guided, rain in. The next day, another air strike will attempt to take out most soldiers and buildings and vehicles in the way of the gathering land invasion force.

Colerican airstrikes devastated ground targets in Tagdenbar, targeting known places of where Ma'dah soldiers were held up, as well as Ma'dah armor units. Percision-guided munitions struck advancing Ma'dah support in and out of the city. The ground invasion would be set up with, in all hopes, as little opposition resistance as possible.

Percision airstrikes by Colerican airpower continue to rock Tagdenbar, decimating whatever the Ma'dah Reborn had left there. The top Colerican generals have agreed to meet with Zoogie commanders to better plan the land assault on Tagdenbar.

Ok, how do you want to do the grand assault?

OOC: Since we have the city surrounded, I'd suggest a three-prong assault. Wrap up the massive air campaign to give way to an all-out ground assault by both of our forces. Sequencely timed right, our naval and air forces should pound selected targets within the city. I'm thinking as far as opposition to our guys, there won't be much. Being practical, we've bombed the living tar out of the city, eradicating all major forces. Sure they'd encounter pockets of ground forces, but I think it's safe to say that the city will be, for the most part, defenseless.

As far as RP'ing is concerned, I'm thinking I'll have Colonel Travis, his sister, remaining members of his team, among others, reenter the city via helicopter and make their way through it. My forces will enter from the east of the city, I guess, and start taking the city. I'll leave it to you as to where you want your forces to enter the city, I guess. I don't know much more that I can say....

Colonel Marc Travis and his sister, Allie Travis, stood in attention to Five-Star General Azben Koren, the commander of all Colerican military forces in Isla De Plata. They had just returned, via helicopter, to prepare for their re-deployment into Tagdenbar, in the final assualt.

"You two are among the bravest soldiers in all of my military," Koren began. "You have showed you valor in combat countless times. For starters, Colonel Travis, you have been promoted. Congratulations, Lieutenant General. You can also congratulate your sister, or should I address Ms. Travis as Colonel Travis?" Koren said. Both Marc and Allie smiled. "You two shine bright in the United Empire's army---hell, the military as a whole. That is why I am requesting both of you be a part in the planning and delivery of the final assualt on Tagdenbar," Koren said.

"I accept the promotion and the deployment," Marc replied.

"I do, too," Allie commented.

Marc glanced at his sister. "We'll make you proud," he said.

"I know. I know," Koren said.

Today, the last air strikes commenced, focusing on destroying every piece of artillery the enemy can possibly use against a ground invasion. Several reconaissance flights made by the navy's Hornets pointed out what we consider to be most of the remaining tanks and armoured vehicles, and the targets were assigned to be destroyed. The only threat now in the city is small groups of armed soldiers.

The Colerican ground assault will enter the city from the east, so our forces will enter from the South. Several M1A3 main battle tanks, as well as infantry fighting vehicles, will roll into the city with most of our men inside APCs accompanying them. The primary objective of this armoured column is to display a solid show of force and basically wipe out any serious resistance they have, proclaiming the city for Colerica.

On the other side, a special operation team of ten to fifteen soldiers will enter the city from the west, manually finding pockets of resistence and eradicating them.

The Colerican ground assault force, which consisted of the entire 1st Armored Division along with the 11th Light-Armored Division, a portion of the 4th Calvary division, and the vast majority of the 2nd Infantry Division, pounded its way to the eastern border of Tagdenbar. Resistance was scattered thin and guerilla attacks, while frequent, were sporadic and far-apart.

On the southern border of the city, a special operations team, led by Brg. General Travis will enter via helicopter.

The United Empire of Colerica will grant permission for a small team, (strong emphasis on small team), to embedd themselves with the Imperial Army's forces as they enter Tagdenbar. The Colerican forces, however, will not slow down their attack for your nation to search for any missing daughter. You may tag-along a team, but, again, we will not slow our efforts in securing the city, just so your nation can carry out a search operation. If this is deemed, during the field, by Colerican officers that it is hampering our military efforts, we will remove your team from the area, is this understood?

"And thus it will begin - "

The two-pronged attack has commenced, with roughly 25 Kazakhstanian-built M-12 armoured personal carriers, and roughly 20 M1A3 Abrams MBTs entered the city. To provide close-air-support, four AH-1Z helicopters are accompanying them.

From the other side, a CH-47 Chinook airlifted a team of fifteen soldiers to the combat field, led by Colonel James Henry, armed to the teeth and equipped with FIST technology. In a last-minute alteration to the plan, four Mi-24 helicopters, all containing 4 armed combat soldiers, are entering the city indepedently to provide general close-air-support.

OOC: I see your bump and raise you a full RP'd post....

IC:

Northern outskirts of Tagdenbar

The sky was low and bleak. Thick gray clouds blocked out any sunlight that attempted to touch the ground. The sight on ground level, however, was much different. Destroyed buildings, burning and demolished, lay scattered like a child’s toy blocks all across the ground. Burned-out automobiles lay tipped on their side, smoking. A large metallic bird circled overhead. It lowered in altitude until it hovered meters from the ground. A large door slid open on the metal bird and ropes dropped from it. Elite soldiers, uniformed and armed, dropped from the hovering helicopter via their deployment lines.

Gunfire rang out as soon as the men touched the ground. An explosion rocked the ground as a grenade was thrown through a second-story window on one of the buildings. The troops fanned-out in a defensive pattern, taking cover behind the debris of whatever they could find. Newly-promoted Brigadier General Mark Travis raised his rifle to fire. The M-4 carbine spat out fire and lead as he squeezed the trigger. Bullets raced through the air and found their targets, dropping them to the ground.

“Tangos spotted. They’re on the move,” a voice said through the radio headset on Travis.

“Take them down,” Travis said into his headset radio.

“Downed,” the voice said.

“Tagged one,” said another voice.

“Scratch another tango,” another voice declared.

Gunfire rained down at the group of soldiers from a balcony on a crumbling building down the street.

“Colericans!” a man on the balcony screamed and fired at Travis and his men.

Travis' sister, Allie, raised her HK36E and fired, pumping the man on the balcony with several rounds of hot lead. She turned her head, and glanced, if but for a moment, at her brother. She then turned her head sharply at the sound of a Ma'dah Reborn soldier yelling. She levelled her rifle on him and fired, killing him.

"This way," Hamilton called out through his radio.

"Take the lead," Travis replied. "Andrews, Thomas, split the force. Take the left of the street and work your way south. We'll move in from the right of the street. Thermal-imaging shows Ma'dah forces held up behind the remains of the building up ahead. We get them in a cross-fire, they're as good as done," he instructed.

"Yes, sir," Andrews said.

"On our way," Thomas agreed.

Andrews and Thomas then began to make their way down the left-hand side of the street, while Travis and the remaining members took to the right. Travis' squad now consisted of just himself, his sister, Hamilton, and Arrisson. Carefully, they crossed an intersecting alleyway, and open fired on two advancing Ma'dah guerillas. The airstrikes had done their job well. They eliminated almost all vehicle resistance, and what vehicles the Ma'dah did have, were out of gasoline. This was all but a mop-up mission for Travis' unit. They'd work their way through a portion of the city and meet up with the advancing Imperial Army ground assault force that was barging through from the east and coordinate singular, more specialized actions from there.
