Today, at 11:30 a. m., The Democratic Confederation of Yerffej landed combat troops on the shores of South Carolina, in what looks like an attempt at a takeover of the rural state.

As soon as the Marines put to shore, they got to work securing a beachead, and soon infantry and tanks were being landed. 10,000 marines then went south down US Interstate Highway 17, and after several brief skirmishes with South Carolina , they entered Charleston itself.
Meanwhile, the Yerffej Star, the Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, began sending ing sorties into military districts of Charleston, and all South Carolinian military planes were severly damaged or destroyed. Soon, the 115th Infantry division, along with the marines, captured all bases in Charleston, and by 2:00 P. M., the city was in the hands of Yerffian forces.


At 2:30, President Bronte of Yerffej issued this statement to the press.
"Friends, I come to you this day to explain the reasons of Yerffej's recent invasion of the Principality of South Carolina. It is not for power, or money, or glory that I authorized this attack, but simply as a way to accomodate the growing population of Yerffej. I'm sure that you all know that just yesterday Yerffej broke the 2 billion population mark, and, as Yerffej has retained the same borders for 200 years (OOC: and, because of a lack of any real maps with which to expand my country), overpopulation has became the biggest threat to the health and safety of Yerffej citizens today.
"If Yerffej does manage to gain large tracts of land in South Carolina with this invasion, it will provide an outlet where responsible Yerffej citizens can go to live, and allow those that remian home some breathing room. If any outside nation attempts to interfere with my plan, or impede it in anyway, I must provide a word of caution. As you can see, civilian casualties are non-existant so far today, and my forces have already captured a major city and defeated the enemy in several sharp battles. Standing in the way of the Yerffej military will only serve to bring pain to the civilian inhabitants of South Carolina, and I'm sure they would like you to refrain from doing so.

It is now 3:15, and the entire Yerffian force is expected to be on land by 10:00 tonight. This is Yerffej International News Network, signing out.

Are you some kind of 5 year old? How many men, planes, etc. did you send, exactly? Where did you send them? How did you get them there? (seeing as how I control all the major ports save Beaufort, I would really like to know this) Please put some thoughts in your posts. This always annoying when this happens...

For an effective and realistic RP, everyone needs to know where your forces are. I mean, I have intelligence officers, and they would give me at least a general idea. If I thought like you, all I needed to say was "I invade US", not tell anyone where, with what, and eventually take it over, and everyone would still be in the dark (not mention ignoring me).
Think about it, idiot. Every county has some kind of news organization, and whichever one you entered would know about it, and thus news would spread through civilians, until I had at least a rough idea where you were. After that, my own intelligence would go and try to garner as much information about your numbers, position, etc. You cannot just creep through a state with 77 persons to the square mile and surprise attack another very large force anywhere you choose. I hate to break it to you, but I live in South Carolina. Its not very rual. And we have 8 military bases. Including Paris Island, where people are recruited into the Marine Corps. Paris Island is in a town called Beaufort, where I live. South Carolina isnt that easy to take. We are going to send troops to fight you off.

I will aslo help defend SC.

Well, I live in South Carolina too, and where I come from, it IS rural (that'd be the upstate).
And, if not supported by the rest of the US, and being invaded by a nation of 2 billion (when SC's population is little more than 2 million), it wouldn't exactly put up the best of fights.

I must remind you that this occupation is made with the best of intentions for everyone. Thousands of homeless die in Yerffej every year, because overpopulation takes all the . This is little more than a peaceful takeover, and a needless war will only put civilians of South Carolina in harm's way.
South Carolina will be given representation in the Yerffej government, and ruled like any other Yerffej province or state. South Carolinians do not have much to lose by coming under a different ruler.
I suggest you step down, before major military actions have to be taken to ensure the welfare of Yerffian citizens.

In light of the recent invasion and lack of support from outside nations, the Principality of South Carolina has decided to surrender to the Democratic Confederation of Yerffej. The surrender was recieved by Yerffej officials at 4:00 today, and since then all military activities against South Carolina have ceased. The 9 divisions currently in South Carolina have moved to their respective districts within the state. President Bronte of Yerffej has told the press that military occupation will continue for at least another month, until the threats from outside countries have been nullified.

Immigrants from Yerffej to South Carolina will begin being allowed in next week.

We suggest that you just leave! BTW, There is no place in Beaufort to port military ships. Even though Beaufort is nothing but islands, we only have 1 port, and thats in Port Royal, were there is an international water-way, and there is only room for 1 barge there. I suggest you do some studying before you say that you send a division here and capture it. Or say that you have ships here, when there is nowhere to put them. And a skirmish with Parris Island wouldnt give you Beaufort. We still have MC airstation, plus a naval base. (Even though it is a naval base, all it is used for is the huge hospital used by the Marines. It has no ports.)

The report was recieved from the USSRS cargo ship Jantro Equine, which was dumping industrial waste in the Atlantic when the storm was said to have hit. The captain - Cpt Helen O. Troy - reports that the ship recieved heavy storm damage and was blown off course where, about 2 miles off shore the ship struck a mine. The vessel is taking on water as the crew of 85 souls battle the elements to regain control of the stricken hulk. A mayday call has been made to the national coast guard and repeated requests have been made for emergency docking to the harbour master at Charleston which are still pending confimation. The destroyer USSRS Petre is currently trying to establish contact with the cargo ship so that she may be towed into port."

To this cause we are stationing 2 Tiger tank platoons in and undisclosed area in proximity to the Carolina border along with 3 squadrons of harrier jets and several platoons of light infantry. Safe and legal passage has been arranged through neighbouring states. Boswolox is not a Warmongering nation but a bit of ass-kicking never hurt anybody.

02:37 hours this morning, the USSRS Jantro Equine docked successfully in the dry dock at Charleston Harbour accompanied by the USSRS Destroyer Petre. At 03:17 hours the USSRS Petre departed to rendevous with the Atlantic fleet off the coast of Carolina. A skeleton crew of 25 Spetsnaz special forces were left aboard the ship to ensure her security. It is important to note that her integrity will be enforced with lethal force if required, any unlawful inspection of vandilisation will be met with the level of intervention warrented.

Repairs will be undertaken by engineers from the Atlantic fleet and should be sea worthy in a matter of weeks. The most extensive damage was caused at the bow of the vessel by a high explosive mine, these repairs will take the majority of her down time to reach completion.

Once again we thank you for taking this vessel into the heart of your country at its time of need. Any reward requested will be made available you and your people.

You, the Allied Confederate Nation to our Socialist People, is being decived by this imperialistic fool called Skarsgrad. His ship is loaded to exploded, as most likely others as well.

A- Tar Heel Empire is part of the Federated Klatchian Coast. Engaging any attacks upon Tar Heel Territory in the FKC would cause the Joint Defense Force to become involved. You can kick them out of Georgia if you desire, and emplace an embargo. But considering they did not directly attack your foces only destroy some infastructure well.

B- Two air-ground missles on an F-14 are not about to destroy Clemson University (Maybe the Library)

C-Considering the population, your invading armies are going to have to shoot a good number of civilians yourself. Us Yanks had to...

As a lover of peace I must recommend we work out some sort of peaceful agreement.

Sadly, I feel our nation is unsuitable to hold these talks due to the malicious rumours spread about our intentions by some of the more subversive nations involved in this conflict.

I am however, happy to announce that the USSRS Jantro Equine is now only a matter of days away from becomming sea worthy. She is set for departure on the 30th of this month (January 2004).

6 more YA divisions have landed in South Carolina due to some social unrest.
There are now 21 YA divisions in South Carolina. Immigrants are being allowed in. If the state's population continues to grow at the current pace, it will reach 10 million before July of 2004.

Our sources in the area have also informed the local command of this 'social unrest' and have stated there is a percieved threat to our interests in the area. Disidants, some possibly originating from Nodea Rudav have been sighted, as a result the South Atlantic Fleet is en route to a location 8 miles off the coast of Southern Carolina in order to give support the the Northern Atlantic contingent in the event of an attack.

Skarsgrad: We may be friends, but we are not allies. No help will be required. As far as I know, you have no possesions in the area, therefore you have no need to send your fleet. I must request that you withdraw them immediately.

Our interests in the area: the USSRS Jantro Equine, she is a ship of the state fleet and must be treated as such.

However, the North and South Atlantic Fleets have been ordered to move out into international waters, where they are both in a position to aid our interests whilst still remaining at a respectful distance from your shores.

The USSRS Jantro Equine has departed on emergency matters in another area of the globe.

The North and South Pacific Fleets have also left the area, all our interests have been removed from Southern Carolina.
