CNN Breaking news From Tokushima City...

"This is Franz Brinkcle reporting live from Tokushima International Airport. Approximately 1 hour ago, Tokushima Republican Guardmens led by General Bernardo entered the Tokushima Parliament and forced the surrender of Prime Minister Beej and his cabinet. We are awaiting word from inside the Parliament, apprently The General will be addressing the nation... wait, here it is, we're going live from inside the Tokushima Parliament..."

----------------------

General Bernardo is standing at the Speaker's Podium, cigar in hand. He takes a sip of water before he speaks...

"Ladies and Gentlemen of our glorious Empire," the people present mostly soldiers and those loyal to the general start hollering, "today is an important day in the history of our nation. Today, the people take back control of our country from these fat, greedy politicians."

The audience explodes in applause.

"My fellow citizens, far too long the bureacrats have argued over trivial issues, stripping the Emperor of his ability to lead the country. We will install a new Military government, with The Emperor remaining as a figure head. The Emperor's ability to excercise Sovereign power and authority over our Nation will be divested in me, The Supreme Commander of Tokushima."

The crowd again explodes in applause, then quiets down to hear more.

"This has been a bloodless Coup. Not one shot was fired, not one person injured. The Senators were given a choice to either join us or leave the country. At this moment, ex-Prime Minister Beej is in a Jumbo Jet trying to find exile in another country. Enemies of the state shall be punished. The first act is to instate Capital Punishment to weed out the enemies. Second I am declaring a state of Martial Law so that the new government can round up any enemies of the state that pose an imminent risk to the Empire."

More applause.

"I will lead a new era of prosperity in Tokushima. Under my leadership we will build a military force that will be able to take its place on the world stage. The World is a chaotic place, and Tokushima must use its Powers to bring order to the World, with The Empire squarely placed on top."

A long standing ovation by the audience.

"Our nation shall rightfully rename ourselves The Empire of Tokushima and in the coming years, we shall show the world how truly great our Empire is."

Standing ovation as General Bernardo finishes his speech, takes a puff of his cigar and leaves the stage.

---------------------

"There you have it, astonishing news from the Nation's Capital. The airports are packed with people trying to leave for safe haven. This is truly an uncertain time for the people of Tokushima. Franz Brinkcle reporting live from Tokushima City..."
09-01-2004, 07:11
Half watching the small screen across the room, Prime Minister Zagoth stirred his coffee in disinterest. A small smile crossed his lips as the report played, while he didnt much care about such a change, he knew that the Prince would hate to see another Military Government form, and any pain to the Prince was a small pleasure to him. He made a note that he would leave out the non-violent aspect, as that would most certainly solidify Buri's spirit, and he still hoped the boy may take a turn for the worst. Setting the coffee to the table, Zagoth rose with his usual emotionless expresion back in place, eiger to tell Prince Buri his half-truth.

The Emperor leaned back with his advisors present. "So what have you got for me?"

"Well sir," one of them spoke, "you know the story so we're not going to go into that but as of now, they aren't a threat."

"Very well. If they should become one?"

"We will be able to deal with them."

"Excellent. Let's do the normal. Put them on the list, watch them closely, and react accordingly to their military and other plans. The second they become a threat to us we take more steps and the instant they attack us or an allie we bulldoze them."

"Yes sir!"

"Normal secrecy, nobody outside this room hears this."

"Yes sir."

In the civilised world we now live in this kind of behaviour is underhanded and unacceptable, and warrents our full attention. I hope and pray that these barbarians will see reason and allow themselves to be judged for their crimes. For I fear if they do not I will be forced to have the Senate pass the Bill of Hostilties allowing me to declare war.

Though do not mistake this as the course we plan to take but rather the last resort If we cannot remove this threat to free peoples accross the globe.

Infact, the Senator Aptiva has accepted the offer for sanctuary from the legitmate Prime Minster of Tokushima and we hope to be able to place him back in his rightful place and remove these imperialists before any innoncent citzens are murdered.

TNNBC Newsflash...

The first train arrived in Tokushima today to take away hundreds of people arrested by the new government. Mostly politicians, artists, and anyone deemed a political dissident have been arrested and put on this train that will be headed to a penal colony in southern Tokushima where they will await later trial for crimes against the empire.

Earlier today, demonstrators were fired upon by Imperial Police using live ammunition. Reports indicate 8 dead, and more than 30 wounded. More on that as news comes in.

This is Lupin Gutierrez reporting live from Tokushima City.

Reports indicate that Imperial Police are rounding up families of ethnic minority Southern Tokushimans and sending them to so called "Relocation Camps." So far our sources indicate that 30,000 Southern Tokushimans have been removed from their homes and currently being held in these camps. It is unknown what happens to people once inside the camps as they are highly guarded but experts believe it to be some sort of ethnic cleansing factory spearheaded by General Bernardo himself. More on this disturbing development as it comes to us...

Perhaps I could at least point out that Tokushima remaions a member of the United Nations, and appears to be violating a number of UN resolutions UN. Thye have therefore choosen to break the laws of an international institution that they have voluntarily joined (or at least not resigned from).

However, UN membership aside, I must agree with Senator Aptiva. The rights of humanity overrides those of sovereign nations when people are being killed for no reason other than to protect the power of a despot.

--Breaking news from International Reason News Network (IRNN)--

In a swift and unanimous decision the entire body of the Aristoi of the Logarchy, headed by Therapon Protarchon Aaron Potts, approved a resolution condemning and deploring the irrational, unreasonable, and disruptive actions of the now-illegitimate government of Tokushima. The resolution authorized the Protarchon to use whatever resources, methods, forces, and justifcations he requires to support the oppressed peoples of Tokushima. The resolution also authorizes blanket asylum for any refugee from Tokushima, and also authorizes the use of the Logarchy's ports and air facilities to any nation that intervenes on the behalf of the people of South Tokushima.

Pursuant to his new emergency powers, the Protarchon immediately informed the nation's armed forces that they are to assume a heightened state of readiness. Border patrol officer strength has been redoubled, the nation's few anti-aircraft weapons are trained at the skies, and the Poloi are going about their business in a state of anticipation and nervousness.

Further developments will be reported on as they occur.

From Tokushima Imperial Command...

Due to a possibility of attack from various nations opposed to our government, Tokushima Imperial Command has heightened our Alert level to the 2nd highest level of Purple. Imperial Naval Fleets are on high alert patroling the waters off our coast as well as an undisclosed number of Tactical Submarines armed with ICBMs. Missile Silos have been activated as well as our air defence system. The Air Force has been instructed to run regular sorties throughout the day.

We oppose this fascist military coup in the strongest of terms. We do not recognise the Empire of Tokushima as a legitimate government and thus recognize any action taken against it by any party as a form of military assistance to Tokushima (its rightful democratic government).

"Well, they are going door to door and dragging anyone out that they suspect to be dissidents and shooting them or decapitating them on the spot. I saw dozens of headless bodies of men, women, and even children."

"How did you escape?"

"About 5 of us hid under dead bodies that were being brought to a mass grave. It became dark before they had a chance to bury the bodies so they just left us there. We escaped shortly after."

"So there are mass graves being dug in Southern Tokushima?"

"Yes."

"Now tell me about...'

Just then armed Imperial Police storm into the studio and walk onto the set. The policemen grab Sal Toktok and handcuff him.

"Mr Toktok you are wanted on charges of disturbing the peace and violations of the Tokushima Patriot Act." the arresting officer says as they drag Toktok away. Then another gentlemen walks on set, clearly a high ranking officer in the Imperial Police. He grabs a microphone.

**Statement from the Office of Foreign Relations, Colony of New Benford**

As a country, the People of New Benford are saddened and concerned by the events that are currently transpiring within the borders of Tokushima. As a newly recognized Nation under the U.N. Charter, we request that the United Nations Security Council formally investigate these claims for validity. The Colony of New Benford is prepared to send a representative to the U.N. to aid in the fact finding mission.

In the event that these claims are true, the Colony of New Benford would also formally request that the United Nations formally reject recognition of the new government of the Sovereign Nation of Tokushima. We also request that the U.N. officially activate economic sanctions upon the Nation of Tokushima to restrict the import of arms, military material, and any high grade steel and/or titanium. It is our belief that plans are currently underway to convert the country's multiple Auto Manufacturing facilities into full scale military production.

Our Empire's Navy is on full alert patroling our waters. The Imperial Airforce is running regular sorties in Tokushiman Airspace. Our nation's missile silos are on full alert in the event of ICBM strikes. The Empire is well armed and will repel any foreign invaders.

As for the protesters and the mass demonstration planned for today, please stay at home. The Imperial Police is present and the Empire will not tolerate any civil disobedience. The Empire is safe.

Reporter for ZSN News: What is your responce to the Tokushiman statement,
Countrymen, our Empire is being threatened on all sides by evil regimes bent on destroying our sovereignty. We must not allow this.. by The Supreme Commander of Tokushima, General Bernardo?

President Kranazhe: Well, I have only to say that I regret the unfortunate insanity of Mr. Bernardo in not only illegally seizing control of his nation, but of flat-out lieing about the intentions of the USZS. He must understand that if they would let us examine them and listen to our advice of how to become a truly democratic Republic, we would leave them alone.

Reporter: The Empire also stated about the anticipated protest that, As for the protesters and the mass demonstration planned for today, please stay at home. The Imperial Police is present and the Empire will not tolerate any civil disobedience. The Empire is safe. What do you think of this, Mr. President?

President Kranazhe: I think that it is unfortunate just how far the illegal government of Tokushima is willing to go in the oppression of its unfortunate people. I expect that we will have another Bloody Sunday down in history today. In fact, such an occurence would warrant an immedidate Code ExR.

OOC:

A historical note: Bloody Sunday was a sunday in January, 1905 in Russia, when a large group of protesters went to protest to the Czar, peacefully petitioning for help. The Czar left the city before they came to the palace, with instructions to the Minister left in charge to deal with it by any means necessary. When the very large crowd came to the palace, the minister paniced, and ordered the Guard to open fire. Many, many people died that day, known since then as bloody Sunday. It sparked the "Revolution of 1905," after which the Czar backed down and created a Duma or parlaiment.

Inside the Imperial Counsel building, General Bernardo and his cabinet are in the middle of an emergency session.

"These people must be stopped. We can not have this going on in our nation's capital," the General says as he takes a puff from his cigar. The general picks up the phone and speaks, "Get me the watch Commander on the line...This is the General. I want you to use whatever means at your disposal to terminate these ridiculous protests. I give you authorization to use deadly force at your discretion. Send in the Armour Divisions. Is that understood commander?...Good."

The police move in to disperse the crowd. Abrahms tanks divisions close off the street as thousands of people scatter. Tear gas canisters are shot into the crowd. Mass panic strikes the protesters. Imperial Police in full riot gear, in tight formation, make their way into the crowd as some protesters begin to through rocks and some others try to run their way through the line of police only to be met with nightsticks.

The watch commander is on the line with General Bernardo. "Yessir. Understood sir. Authorized to use lethal force, understood sir." The commander gets on his walkietalkie, "This is the Commander to all units, Use of force authorised. I repeat use of force authorised. If they make a move at you, you are advised to terminate. Let's move in people."

Seconds later, a chorus of gunfire is heard over the yelling of the crowd. Dozens of people are seen lying motionless in the middle of the street. The tanks roll right over many more demonstrators.

The rioting lasts for a little more than an hour until the gunfire ceases and hundreds are arrested. Bodies are strewn all over the streets, shot, beaten, or run over. The Commander gets on the line to General Bernardo. "Watch commander to Imperial Command. Operation: Iron Fist is complete. Mission is a success. Repeat, Operation: Iron Fist is a success."

Back in the Imperial Counsel...

"That is good news Commander," The General says, still smoking yet another cigar, "That's very good news." The General turns to his cabinet members. "I want the Military on full alert. I expect an imminent response from the International community because of this."

"Yessir!" they all respond, in unison.

Primier Quetzalcoatl sits at his desk looking over the report of the demonstration. Seeing what happened, he sighs and looks out his window. While he does understand that the Empire can run it's government how it sees fit, he is infuriated by these horrid repeated human rights violations. He then reaches over for the intercome and says:

Within a few minutes, Dr. Wellington and Special Agent Uetzcayotl walked in. The primier stood up and began to speak.

"The Empire of Tokushima has crashed the demonstrations violently. I want to know, without shooting war, is there any way we can retaliate this action?"

Dr. Wellington spoke, in his soft spoken, British voice
"Well, I too would like to see some action done peacefully, but, there are only an few options. First, we could publically condemn these acts. This effort would gain quite a bit of international support. Also, we could set up an trade agreement between the nations joining the effort not to trade with the government of Tokushima. However, doing one or both actions could be risky, and, also, the nations that are supportive of their government would take offence to us."

The Primier sat back down, and said "See what you can do that is both diplomatic, yet effective. Special Agent Uetzcayotl, stay here, I have an job for you."

--TOP SECRET--
The Foriegn Affairs Minister walked out and closed the door behind him. The Primier stood up and began to speak.

"I understand that Tokushima has closed off it's ports, preventing us from getting in and anyone from getting out, legally. But, despite that, I am giving you a mission. I want you to go to Tokushima, under cover. You will be inserted outside of their border (or near their waters if it is an island nation) where you will have to find a way into Tokushima. Once inside, try to find disidents and see if you can either smuggle them into our country. Also, try to find any valuable information you can about their government. Try to keep an ultra low profile, try to operate under their government's scope as much as possible, work outside of the system if you have to."

The Primier walked towards and window and gazed out. He than said "You may asymble a small team of our best agents to help you. And, I am sure that you know of the government's procedure if you an or your team is captured, so only carry essensal papers with you, nothing incriminating of us. While you are on your mission, I will make sure that the Intelegence Network will be doing heavy counter espionage to expose any foriegn spies."

Official Release from the Imperial Counsel...

The Imperial Counsel has voted to invoke the War Measures Act effectively setting the stage for Tokushima to declare war against the USZN. A full-scale declaration of war may be imminent in the next few days. This is in response to a Naval Blockade which has, at the moment, done little to change the resolve of our leaders to cleanse our Empire of the cancer that is Southern Tokushimans.

The Imperial Fleet is present off our Eastern Coast, and will threaten to run through the Naval Blockade if it is not removed within 48 hours.

But, in a sign of good will to Southern Tokushimans worldwide, The Empire offers you a nail and a length of rope to hang yourself from.

As the missiles and artillery pieces flew at the USZS small expeditionary force, the USZSS Kuritza (hehe) Aircraft carrier in command sent the following transmission back to Irkutsk: "The Tokushiman fleet has opened fire, We repeat, the Tokushiman fleet has opened fire!"

The large amounts of flak and explosives peppered the waters around the USZSS Kuritza, USZSS Oriel (Aegis Cruiser), USZSS Lebed' (Cruiser). The USZSS Lebed's armor broke and water gushed into the hull. Steam emerges from every vent and the vessel sinks. The other ships in the fleet, having been designed for arctic travel, have VERY thick armor and thus survive the few stray hits in this barrage. In the meantime, the USZSS Lebed' sends off a very different, soundbased, transmission into the waters directly below it, "Code Red, repeat CODE RED."

After sending it's messages, the USZSS Kuritza began launching: Mig-29s and B-3s (stands for Bomber of 2003). "Migs, escort the B3s and engage incoming F14s. B3s, head for the destroyers attempting to surround us and destroy them"

The USZSP Akula received the transmission from the USSZS Kuritza. Immediately it signalled it's escorts, the former USSRS Archangelsk, USSRS Murmansk, and USSRS Taymir, "Code RED, repeat, CODE RED." All four nuclear submarines (3 of them rather old) lifted off the ocean floor and began motion.

"Get within 500 meters of the Tokushiman fleet."

"OPEN FIRE, REPEAT, FIRE AT WILL!"

6 large conventional, and one anti-carrier nuclear torpedoes headed off at the Tokushiman fleet.

Official statement made by the USZS Executive office:

Following the unprovoked attack on our forces by the illegitimate government of Tokushima, we have moved to full scale ExR. We will no longer hold back. The nation of Tokushima WILL be freed, and military assistance to Tokushima will be given.

We advise all who are not in the military to be careful. Everyone should be ready to evacuate their homes for the woods at a a few minutes notice in case of ICBM attack.

We would like to ask that men of 18-22 years of age who are not already involved in vital industries consider joining the military. Because of our stand against the illegitimate government of Tokushima, our very independence and freedom might be threatened.

On the bridge of the Ohio class Submarine SSBN Hemmingway, Captain Burns and his crew are eyeing the sonar, watching for any movement below the ocean's surface.

PING

"Sir, we a have a signal. Seems the USZN fleet is signaling to a group of subs. The subs are advancing towards the First Fleet."

"Start up the engines and move us to silent running mode. Signal to the Medicine hat to converge on them from the rear."

The Hemmingway moves in the cut off the advancing USZN subs. The Hemmingway's propellars, held in the interior of the hull, barely makes an audible sound to the USZN subs.

"Sir, they've fired torpedos towards the fleet!."

"Move us within weapons range and fire on the lead submarine." the Captain commands.

"Aye aye," the ensign responds. "We are within weapons range now Captain."

"Fire at will."

With that the Hemmingway unleashes medium range sonar torpedos that home in on the propellar noise from the older USZN subs. The Medicine Hat fires from the rear.

"Torpedos away. Impact in 5...4...3...2...1..."

meanwhile, back on the SS Valiant

"Admiral!! Torpedos incoming!!"

The Admiral gets on the PA system. "All hands brace for impact."

The Torpedos zoom towards the First Fleet. One by one, the torpedos detonate as they strike the hull of the carrier but the armour does its jobs and absorbs most of the damage. Suddenly a large nuclear explosion rises from the depths just hundreds of metres from the SS Valiant and a mushroom cloud rises to the sky. Caught in the blast radius, the SS Valiant rocks violently as the shockwave slams the ship. The crewmen are knocked around inside the bridge. One crewman staggers to his feet and gets back to his console.

"Sir!! One torpedo still incoming!!"

An explosion rocks the SS Valiant as one last conventional torpedo strikes the hull of the carrier.

"Damage report!!"

"Sir, we have major casualties on the flight deck, our propellar is damaged, and the hull has been breached. No word from the rest of the fleet. The ship is listing sir."

"Damn it. Radio to Admiral Shakur and the Second Fleet. We're gonna need their help."

"Aye Sir."

This is Alpha leader to flight squadron Bravo. Ready to engage incoming MIGs. Fire at will

Captain Herriman (cosign "Bugsy") and his wingman Captain Abel (cosign "Bull's Eye") soar towards the incoming MIGs. Bugsy targets the lead MIG and fires a Sidewinder. A second MIG tries to get a target lock on Bugsy but Bull's Eye swings in and targets the trailing MIG with his Vulcan cannon. The MIG breaks off and Bull's Eye goes after it.

Meanwhile the second squadron breaks off to go after the bombers.

"No matter what, those bombers do not make it to our Destroyers." yells Captain Kawasawa (cosign "Cobra") over the radio as his squadron meets the first wave of MIGs.

Imperial Airforce Captains Gregory (aka "Wolf") and Niggs (aka "Heat") and their co-pilots eject as their jets are hit with missles.

"I have lock on the lead Bomber. Firing missles." Captain Kawasawa says over the radio. "Missles away! Send in the third wave!!"

The third squadrons of F14s move in to engage the remaining MIGs and B3s...

Lieutenant Dan walks into the detention cell holding the two Aztec National pilots. He sits down at the table, opens his folder and begins to go through the files.

"So...you say you were running a routine training mission. You were dropping off scientists on a geological mission. Is that correct?"

The first pilot responds, "Yes sir, thats right."

"We've spoken with our Ministry of Geological surveys and all the Geological departments of our Universities. You see, to have permission to survey Tokushiman land forms, you need to file paper work with the Geological Ministry. Some of your top universities have been doing it for years. But you see, no one is the Ministry knows of any existing Aztec National project to survey Tokushiman land formations."

"So?..."

"So, what I'm trying to get at is, either the people you say you've dropped off are researchers who have no permission to be there or you've been lied to and they weren't researchers at all. Either way, I'm going to have to send in a team to remove them. Give us the coordinates that you dropped off this team."

"I...um...don't remember"

"That's fine. We'll get it off your flight recorder and our radar records. Enjoy your stay here."

"Strike depth charges laid down prior to the beginning of the attack". :tantrum: How would a torpedo hit a depth charge? Explain please. I do agree that I shouldn't have assumed that my Submarines would be able to reach a position from which to fire, but I expected that they would have the element of surprise.

Basically, my complaint about the "depth charges" is that for them to cover enough area around your fleet at a distance to keep the nuclear explosion from severly damaging your fleet, they would have to either be a uncountable number of them, or they would have to be very high yeild, in which case they would be a threat to the very fleet they are supposed to somehow protect.

Proper responses will be made when these questions are answered.

*Captain crosses himself and utters a momentary prayer*

Captain: Of course. I couldn't assume we would have the monopoly on nuclear-powered submarines. Are our sound-dampeners operating?

First mate: Can you hear our engines?

Captain: So they are operating with no problems? Egg-celent. Time to go down into the deep and manouver quietly toward the enemy. Do we know where the Tokushiman Submarines are?

First mate: Not really. All I know is where, approximately, those torpedoes were fired from and that there's some sort of very slight humming in that general direction.

: Tokushima, do your subs have active or inactive sonar? Mine have inactive, they only take in sound. Thus our subs cannot "see" each other very well. Active sonar sends out sound and listens to the reflections (like active radar that US protocol uses constantly)

"It seems the Rotovian fleet is advancing now, sir. Multiple Rotovian and USZN bogies incoming."

At the admiral's command, the flight deck roars back to life as wave after wave of F14s, then F18s take off and make formations before flying towards the advancing Rotovian/USZN fighters/bombers.

"Sir, even with the flight deck cleared, we are still outnumbered in the sky."

"Very well. Ready the Anti-air guns. Radio to the our battleships and destroyers to prepare for incoming cannonfire and to return fire at will. And get the Second and Third Fleets on the horn. I need ETA on their arrival."

The team fans out, looking for anything that would indicate the presence of a group of people in the last few days. After about 10 minutes, one of th other soldiers yells out, "I got something!"

Lt. Escobar comes over, "What do you have?"

"Footprints and broken foliage."

The Lt. crouches low to the prints. "These tracks look like they're from military issue boots. And theres more than a couple sets of tracks. Looks like we might have shooters fellas."

Thanks for the sub info...

OK as for the Valiant, barring my stupid depth charges, I originally thought your Nuclear Torpedo was just that, a Nuclear torpedo so I had re-written it so that there was a big nuclear esplosion that wipes out the flight deck. But since you then stated that your nuclear torpedo was more like a large conventional torpedo, I then assumed major hull damage rather than a mushroom cloud which allows the Valiant to have a somewhat functional flight deck.

I dunno sounds kinda confusing, but I hope you agree.

...On the bridge of the SSBN Hemmingway...

"Captain! We have torpedos incoming!!"

"Dive to 100 meters!! Dive now dammit!!" Captain Burns ordered.

The Hemmingway dives down into an underwater canyon, as the first of the torpedos detonates against the canyon wall. The explosion is felt throughout the sub.

"Still one more torpedo tracking us sir!"

The SSBN Hemmingway is a one-of-a-kind submarine in the Tokushiman Imperial Fleet. The Hemmingway is a Ohio Class Strategic sub recently retrofitted with twin torpedo bays for sub-to-sub combat. But even the most state of the art submarine is only so good at evading a barrage of torpedos. As the Hemmingway turns a corner, the torpedo finally catches up.

BOOM!

The Hemmingway is rocked by a direct hit and the hull suffers severe damage but miraculously stays intact as it sinks to the ocean floor. Inside, crewmen rush to seal off the rear engine compartments as they are quickly taking in water. Unfortunately, they had to seal at least a dozen crewmen inside the flooded compartments.

With the Hemmingway severely crippled, the crew has no choice but to sit at the bottom of the ocean and wait to either die from radiation poisoning or lack of oxygen...

About 2 km from this underwater battle, 2 Los Angeles class Attack subs rendevouz with the SSBN Medicine Hat. They are the SS Trudeau and SS Miyagi.

"This is Captain Villareal of the Medicine Hat to The Trudeau and Miyagi. We have lost the Hemmingway. Unknown whether the ship or the ICBMs onboard are salvagable. The Hemmingway contained EMP Tomahawk Cruise missiles. We must go in and protect the cargo and salvage if possible, detroy if neccessary. This is the Medicine Hat...Out."

[The SSBN Hemmingway is a one-of-a-kind submarine in the Tokushiman Imperial Fleet. The Hemmingway is a Ohio Class Strategic sub recently retrofitted with twin torpedo bays for sub-to-sub combat.

ooc:

ok. its just a wee bit of godmodding (if you don't mind) to explain away how the Hemmingway fired torpedos at you, but The Hemmingway is sunk (to make up for the godmod) so now you won't have to worry about it. Now that I know the difference between Los Angeles and Ohio Class, I won't make that mistake again.

Encrypted message from Tokushima Imperial Command to all Imperial Navy Submarine Captains...

at 0300 today, SSBN Hemmingway was sunk in international waters north of Tokushima. The remnants lie 320 meters below the surface. The Hemmingway, as in all Imperial SSBNs, was carrying a load of EMP-GM01 Cruise Missiles. The design of said warhead is classified. This weapon must not fall into enemy hands. Imperial Command instructs all Imperial Submarines in the immediate area to prevent any enemy vessels from approaching The Hemmingway. Radio to any foreign vessel attempting a rescue operation to stand down. If they decline, Imperial Command gives you orders to open fire. First priority are the Warheads. Survivors are expendable. If warheads are not retrievable, scuttle the Hemmingway.

*On board the USSRS Archangelsk*

Communications Officer: We're getting a garbled radio transmission from the Medicine Hat. I don't understand why they would use radio underwater where the seawater interferes, maybe they don't want us to hear it? It says "Atte#chch# all enemy ve#chch#ls, The Hemmingway's re#chch#r is le#chchchch# clear as we send a re#chch#eam to recover #ch#rvivors. If you do not #chchch# down, we #chchch#ume firing. We give you 5 minute#chchchchch#"

Captain: I think that means they don't want us approaching the Hemmingway. Return to Petropavlovsk, seems we need repairs.

Ensign: But, what about the crew of the Hemmingway, our deep-sea brethren?

Captain: If they're gonna shoot us if we don't leave them alone, I'm afraid we'd better leave them alone. Their chances of survival decrease in a firefight. Only tell headquarters about the wreckage. If, as seems almost certain, we win this engagement, It'll be our sole responsibility to rescue the crew.

*Captain starts walking away but then stops*

Captain: Actually, I have an Idea. We still have escape pods correct?

Ensign: Affirmative.

Captain: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Ensign to crew: Allright! Launch some empty life pods on my mark on autopilot to dock with the Hemmingway. Set their broadcasters to "We are empty lifepods to help you," MARK!

*A small group of little submarine-like things fall off the USSRS Archangelsk and head for the Hemmingway, broadcasting on soundwaves through the water:*

...On the bridge of the Imperial Destroyer Rizal...

The ensign looks with surprise on his sonar screen, "What the hell?? Captain we have a torpedo incoming!!!"

"Hard to starboard!! Now!!" The Rizal lunges starboard, nearly throwing every crewman off their feet.

The Captain immediately gets on the ship's PA, "All hands brace for im--"

BADA-BOOM!

Fortunately, the Captain's quick decision to to manuever his ship causes the incoming torpedo to glance off the Rizal's hull before detonating. The explosion rocks the ship but only causes minor damage to the exterior hull. The crewmen quickly work to seal off any leaks.

"Damage report!"

The ensign furiously scanning his screen, "Some damage to the hull, but were still afloat."

"And what about the Valiant and the Yamamoto?"

"The Valiant has major damage and is already listing. Admiral James has given the order to abandon ship. The Yamamoto has extensive damage to its hull. Their dead in the water but their guns are still operational."

"Where did that torpedo come from?"

"From the underwater canyon, close to where the Hemmingway is resting. There's many places down there for enemy subs to hide."

The Captain, quick to act, gives the order, "Radio to the SS Trudeau, have them make a sweep of the canyon and intercept whatever is firing those damn torpedos!"

--------------------------------------------

...at the edge of the underwater canyon...

The SS Trudeau, quietly slips into the canyon, quietly listening for any movement by the USZS sub.

"Captain. I have it." The ensign says as he scans over his sonar. "Right there," he points to his screen. "You see that rock formation?"

"Yes," the Captain replies. "Funny looking rock formation." The Captain get on the radio to alert his torpedo crew, "Torpedos ready. Fire on my mark!"

"Captain, we're getting a message from the USZN sub." THe ensign listens carefully into his headphones. "They're launching unmanned escape pods to as a rescue attempt on the Hemmingway."

"Fools, they just gave away their position. Do you have them targeted?"

"Aye sir! USZS Sub targeted."

"Fire at will!"

The SS Trudeau lets loose 2 torpedoes, each homing in on the enemy target...

...on the bridge of the SS Trudeau...

"Captain!! We have multiple torpedos incoming!!" the ensign shrieked as he saw multiple dots on his sonar.

"Ahh geez! More of them! Give me full engines now!" The captain ordered and within seconds the Trudeau lurched forward. "Take us to up 25 meters. Take us full speed right past the Valiant."

At this point the Imperial Carrier Valiant had already begun to sink stern-end first and already almost half the carrier was under water.

"Torpedo impact in 20 seconds..." the ensign said as the dots on his sonar blipped even closer.

"Helm! Take us as close as you can to the Valiant."

"Aye sir."

The Trudeau zoomed through the water persued by several torpedoes. The Trudeau approached the sinking Valiant.

"Impact in 10...9...8...7...6...5...4..."

At this point, the Trudeau was side by side and just meters away from the doomed Valiant as it sped by.

"Helm!! Now! Hard to port." The Trudeau lurched sideways veering away from the Valiant. The torpedoes detonated as they slammed into the sinking carrier. The once mighty Imperial Carrier Valiant is no more. Unfortunately the resulting explosion from several torpedoes catches the Trudeau in its blast. The Trudeau is rocked by the shockwave.

The helmsman gets up off the floor and back to his console. "My god! It worked! Sir, they'll give you a medal of honour for that."

"Damage report Ensign!" barked the Captain.

"Umm...we have some hull damage that might prevent us from surfacing, and reports of leaks are coming in from various parts of the ship, but we're still alive."

"We're not surfacing. Bring us about and load the torpedo bays." the Captain says as he steadies himself against a console.

The Trudeau comes about and comes within torpedo range of the USZSP Akula.

"FIRE!!"

Multiple torpedoes are launched from the Trudeau and zoom towards the Akula, but as the last torpedo is fired, it becomes jammed by debris in a torpedo tube damaged by the exploding Valiant.

"Captain! We have a jam in-"

BaBoom!!

The torpedo detonates within the damaged tube and rips a gaping whole on the side of the Trudeau. The SS Trudeau becomes the 2nd Imperial Sub and 3rd Imperial ship to be lost today...

4 squadrons of F14s regroup above their sunken carrier. After battling numerous MIGs, most are low on fuel and munnitions.

"This is Red Squadron leader to Flight Commander. I'm almost on "E" here. What's the plan?"

The Flight Commander aka "Snake" notices the beeping coming from his radar screen, "I have multiple ships entering radar range. Looks like we have a new fleet to bombard. For on my wing. Red Team and Gold Team, you will engage the MIGs. Blue team, you guys are with me. We're headed straight for that carrier."

"Roger that."

As the F14s meet the first wave of MIGs, an intense dogfight occurs. "Snake" and 2 fellow F14s manage to slip by the air battle and make straight for the carrier. They are met with anti aircraft fire from the fleet's Destroyers. One of the wingmen gets shot out of the sky.

"On my mark, fire everything you got at that carrier...Ready?..."

"Roger that. Ready to--Damn I have a MIG on my tail. Sir I have to break formation."

"Go then, Keep that MIG off my tail." The Wingman then swerves away.

Snake has no choice but to fire his weapons now, without having proper target lock. The bombs are released but stray from their targets.

"Dammit!!" Snake yells as he drops his last bomb. Out of ammo and almost out of fuel, Snake has one last choice. He aims his F14 directly at the USZS Carrier's control tower and turns on his afterburners.

His co-pilot complains "Jesus! What are you doing??"

"What we've all been trained to do...protect the Empire!!" Snake says as he evades anti-air fire on one last Kamikazi run...

"Full engines! Take us about away from those ships." The captain orders as depth charges detonate just a few hundred meters away from the sub. The Medicine Hat makes its way away from the enemy fleet and turns about.

"Bring us to the surface. Its about time we used our payload. And radio to the SS Miyagi to cover us from that damn enemy Sub."

"Aye sir," The ensign reponds. "Surfacing now, Sir"

The Medicine Hat breaks the surface of the water about 3 km away from the USZS fleet.

Ready 4 Tomahawks and set for multiple targets.

"Aye sir. Multiple targets set."

"FIRE!!"

4 high yield conventional warhead Tomahawks launch from the Medicine Hat's missile bays and soar into the sky.

"Ready the next wave," The Captain says, watching the tomahawks on his radar screen.

Having any battleships is a waste in my opinion, but 4 is just outrageous. (22 is just LUDICROUS!)

Yes. I complained about the number of ships my ally has. I am not being prejudicial...

Also, I would like to add that the following event with blast doors is not very contrived. The engineers were smart and well-informed, that's all. However, because it was added in a hurry, It won't be able to re-open until the Ship visits harbour (and that impairs operating efficiency of the command bridge) as well as there being damage to the control systems.

And one last thing, I won't begrudge this because it makes things more interesting, but how exactly do the F14s, designed for multi-purpose action, get through a screen of Mig29s, which are specially designed for fighter combat and specifically as a counter to the F18 (I think, maybe F16 or something... generally american Next Generation fighter jets anyway). Lt Ensign: No. The antenna melted because of the direct hit and the massive energy. The Console completely detonated, killing our Comm Officer. Fortunately we are nearly alone out here so no friendly ship got hit.

Captain: I just hope this EMP also hurt the bogey we were dropping depth charges at. I wonder how it's doing?

[OOC: Yes Tokushima, this is where you talk about the SSN Miyagi ]

Captain: Do we have backup hardware anywhere?

Lt. Ensign: Well, yes, but the closet got welded shut just now. It was too close to the Comm console.

Captain: Well? Get a plasma torch and melt down the door!

Lt. Ensign: Well, the plasma torch was also in that closet.

Captain: Does anyone have a sledgehammer somewhere?

It has come to our attention that the SS Valiant, the main Tokushiman Aircraft Carrier has been sunk. Any planes from the Valiant may land on the Utka, provided they first drop all their munitions into the water and send a message of such intentions to all nearby USZS Craft. We will accept you as POWs under the Geneva Conventions; with right of board, no interrogation, and once the war is over a right of return. Such refugees may also be involved in the liberation of Tokushima itself if they themselves understand the importance of freedom. You can however have our assurances that your F14s, unless you protest, will then be disposed of in your sight so that you know that you have not given us anything of value to us.

Captain "Bulldog" Nixon is desperately trying to evade a MIG which is tailing him. He performs barrel-rolls, loop-to-loops and every other trick from the Top Gun School For Jet Fighter Pilots to keep his F18 from being shot down.

"This is Bulldog to Tokushima Air Command. I've just fired my last missile. I'm low on fuel. Where the hell are the reinforments??"

Suddenly, a warning light goes off. It's indicating he's low on fuel. "Dammit!" he mutters to himself.

Then, on his radar screen, a few faint blips appear and disappear. Bulldog taps his screen. "What the hell was that?"

Then over the comm, "Attention First Fleet. This is Raptor Squadron Alpha. We'll take over from here."

Reinforments had arrived. Two squadrons of F22 Raptors, flying in tight formation, swoop in and engage the MIGs. This allows for the near-empty F14s and F18s to disengage from the Battle.

"Attention all remaining First Fleet Flight Squadrons. This is the Second Fleet Carrier, SS Peacekeeper. You are cleared to land."

As another Tokushiman Fleet approached, the USZS Cruisers (USZSS Chaika, USZSS Loon', USZSS Gus', USZSS Ayst, and USZSS Tzaplya) Open Fire on the Incoming SuperCarrier. At the same time, the many Squadrons of Mig29s and several Squadrons of Mig32s (from the USZSS Utka) engage the Tokushiman reinforcements. At the same time however, missiles fired by them continue to trail the Tokushiman F14s and F18s fleeing.

OOC: Did no Tokushiman pilots accept the USZS offer before teh SS Peacekeeper arrived? Are they all ideologically "pure", even though the new govt. only took over recently? I wonder. If yes, then it seems Tokushimans change their minds very quickly... I could use this to my advantage ...

*A large Space-capable missile with the look of something salvaged from a large warehouse lifts off into space...*

*As it reaches Geostationary Orbit, the outer shell of the final capsule falls off, to reveal a rather large sattelite*

*The Sattelite (The outcome of a few years of "Project Omega", with most relevant professors in the country working on "Quantum Engineering") has a central cylinder with a number of Solar Panels unfolding, and a large tube extending from it.*

*As the Solar Panels finish Unfolding, it begins a steady looping transmission on a common frequency:*

This is USZS Primary. Any attempt to destroy this unit will result in horrifying consequences. No nation other than Tokushima's illegitimate Government need worry. OOC: I was thinking that he depth charges would stop aiming themselves (with slight rotation of fins) but the thing is, with a bomb, you implant the way to expolde it very well. Case in Point; In a Nuclear Blast, there is an EMP. The most likely site of enemy nuclear attack would be a nuclear Sile, which are just for such reasons very heavily armored. It would be pointless to armor them if the EMP disabled the nukes.

PS: Something I don't like about "Animatrix" (a series of Cartoons spinning off the matrix) is that at somepoint they say the Humans nuked the machines. It then says It had no effect! but the Human main weapon is an EMP! So is a Nuke! rrrr

After the ships that have left dissapear from sight, the Sattelite in orbit Suddenly activates a few maneuvering thrusters. The pipe-like protrusion facing down toward the battlefield, a few kilograms of Antimatter whoosh out. The antimatter collides with normal matter in the upper atmosphere and annihilates with it, causing a burst of energy of magnificent proportions.

The surface of the water directly below even comes to an instant boil as a massive amount of heat, radiation and electromagnetic disruption (ECM) streaks about. The blast devastates a few of the southern Kurile Islands and is most intense in the waters directly between the 2 Tokushiman Fleets.

As all this heat causes massive evaporation, the sky goes black with massive clouds, many of which also surge in various directions outward (because of the temperature difference). Massive snowfall (it is winter, right?) occurs in a huge area spanning most of Northern Tokushima, Sakhalin (where they're used to it), the Vladivostok Area, The Kuriles, and Kamchatka.

Satelite News Flash!!!

This is Joe Aboonai reporting live from the Satelite News Yacht in International waters east of Tokushima. We have reports of massive demonstrations in Tokushima City against the regime of General Bernardo. If you recall, the last time people took to the streets against the dictator, Imperial Troops opened fire on the crowd killing as many as 100 civilians. To this day Government officials deny anything happened, stating "they were already dead when we got there."

Also, though reports are still sketchy, we have news that a large number of Imperial Tokushiman ships were lost in a battle today against USZS forces. Witnesses report a bright flash, like, and I quote, "an act of God or someone in Godmode like in them video games" one witness said. Reports have also come in of a massive Tokushima Fleet returning to port. This is contrary to what the State-Run media is reporting. The State-Run ITNN states that the Empire is winning the war and is "dessimating the enemy on all fronts."

We'll keep you updated as the news comes in.

The Lieutenant and the rest of the group come to see what's up. The soldier uses his foot to clear some dirt and reveals the butt of a pistol. The team quickly excavates the area to find a small cache of arms.

"Interesting," the Lieutenant says examining the pistol, "these are the standard sidearms for Aztec National troops. But why would they dump their guns? All right squad let's move out."

The team gets back in formation and returns to making their way through the forrest.

OOC: I couldn't resist, sorry. I had been planning that sattelite long before I launched it. The thing is that, realistically, any government with a significant amount of resources could make something like that today. Antimatter is known to exist (don't confuse me with treknology though, very different...) and one could theoretically produce it and contain it, and if you contain it then you could definitely launch it. (Using magnetic fields)

It should really be called Ionized Antimatter because they are Antimatter Ions. All I have said about antimatter is true btw, feel free to check up on the facts, I just want to spread scientific knowlege... :)

I am going to deal with the problems though.

"Mr President, we've lost contact with our sattelite!"

President: What! what happened?

"Well, you know how you said it was our testing device?

President: Ye-es?

"Well, it seems we didn't get all the bugs out of the design. We couldn't obviously test it on the surface..."

President: So what do you think happened?

"The containment for the launching of the antimatter apparently during launch didn't work. It must be that some antimatter hit the walls of the launch tube as it was being launched. The sattelite has exploded in a giant fireball. Fortunately the Various upper layers of the atmosphere have protected Tokushima's civilians from the blast. The EMP from the first blast didn't repeat itself because of the Ionosphere blocking it, as well as various other layers blocking all of the heat. All that came through was a bright flash."

President: Will the next design correct the flaw?

"We hope so, our techs in R&D are working on it, but we'll need an actual space fleet to launch them, what with needing so many rockets... And the rockets *must* launch properly or we risk Armaggedon... So it'll be a while, much longer than we expect the war to last."

when your fleet retreated to make room for Project Omega, Imperial Command took it as a sign of disengaging from the battle, hence the Occupation Fleet turned around and came back to port.

OH. Then they engage your navy, continuing the strategy of:
-Neutralize their aircraft (by engaging)

-Have Submarines run amock below the surface with seemingly random tactics that revolve around hiding and then striking with large (nuclear) tactical torpedoes.

The USZSS Utka has a whole lot of aircraft by the way, as of course does the SS Peacemaker.

PS: The idea of USZS disengaging was supposed to happen, for this reason there was the "small artificial cloud" done by the black ops sub. USZS didn't want you to hear our response: It wanted Tokushima to assume that they were surrendering, while not actually saying it. :)

Walking very quickly in the forest towards the shore, the real purpose of the spies is revealed among themselves...

Conversating very, very quietly...
Agent 3:"Ok, I need to know. Why did we drop our weapons? If we get into a confrontation, we only have hunting knives with us, clearly we are disadvantaged."

Agent 1: "Ok, here's the scoop, we have recived a lot of reports of anti-Bernardo rebels in Tokushima. Normally, the resistance movement would have no chance against the military."

Agent 3: "Ok, and?"

Agent 2: "We are attracting some military attention towards us. This will hopefully give the resistance force a better chance, since the military will be spread out more thinly."

Agent 3: "So, the entire thing about saving prisoners was not true?"

Agent 1: That was true, at first. But we have no way of getting us and them home. It is an impossiblibtly."

Agent 4: "Another thing, how are we getting back?"

Agent 1: "You'll find out soon enough"

Agent 3: "Wait, this will make the ANL look very bad. It is likely they will discover our weapons."

Agent 1: "That is exactly what I hope. Those guns we had were outdated to the ANL military and the government began replacing them three months ago, slightly before the Tokushiman conflict began."

Agent 2: "If Tokushima accuses the ANL of sending spies or military troops to their land, the ANL will say they found out that we are a group of rouges bent on overthrowing the current government because the ANL government refuses to take any action. The story is that we are assisting anti-Bernardo forces in the forests. This, will cause the military to intensivly search this area, diverting much of it's resources to this area."

Agent 3: "So I see..."

OOC: Now I have to hit my library of James Bond movies to create some sort of escape plan. Don't worry, no jet packs.
