The main island is made up of large areas of forest and plains. There is also a mountainous region in the South which is home to Santa Maria City.
The majority of Cayan citizens are very proud, shy and committed socialists. Cayo has armed forces have been noted for their bravery and their "do or die" spirit on the battlefield. Many soldiers have been battle hardened through the Cayo/Derscon conflict, several revolutions and also the recent re-taking of the Outer Islands.
Since the coming to power of General Perez in the recent revolution Cayo has been involved in no conflicts. There is a minor disagreement with Hutu over ownership of Antigo Island. Many Cayans also believe that Samos Island, an independant state, should also be united with Cayo.
