Closed border

Danmarc

This just in,

Early this morning a makeshift boat approached the Danmarc restricted territory. As the boat left international waters into restricted territory, Danmarc Border patrol vessels approached, shining a spotlight and demanding that the boat identify itself. There was no response. A warning shot was fired over the bow of the ship, and still, no one identifyed themselves. Fearing the worst, the Danmarc border patrol was forced to sink the boat, by way of a 50 caliber machine gun burst, followed by a shoulder-fired missile round. 12 bodies have been recovered so far, but it has not been reported if these are refugees or possibly foreign invaders. More news as it comes in.

Have you no shame?

These good have been people from your nation on a boating trip, but they don't understand your language so they couldn't reply. Haven't you heard of sending your boat up to theres?

Our country agrees with Kazaakisthan. Your shoot first ask questions later policy is horrible! Your men should have boarded that boat before they shot it out of the water.

We hope that you look over your current policies and decide to change them in favor of helping the less fortunate people of other nations.

The official position taken regarding this situation by the Danmarc administration is that the boat approached Danmarc waters and was given fair warning in English, which is spoken in Danmarc, as well as the 2 most prevelant other languages in the region. No response was received, so the determination was made to destroy the ship. It is the official policy of the Danmarc government that the border is closed to refugees, those seeking political asylum, and anyone else without granted permission.

((OOC: An example is the USS Cole, which was attacked by speedboats in the middle east. It is not always possible to board vessels))

Further statements from President Alexandre Smedley are to come.
