CRETAL CITY, CRETAL(CFP)-Following the landslide victory in the Eastern provinces, under debatable Election Day circumstances, the Mormon Monarchist Party seized 124 of the 601 seats in the Cretalian Parliament, and announced a mass inauguration in the Capitol. With 589 of the 601 MPs present, the Mormon Monarchist Militia unveiled itself, and, at gunpoint, MPs were forced to vote for suspension of the Constitution and the installation of the first King of Cretal, Leopold I. Leopold's first act was to announce an alliance with the Dominion of Ba-Halad, longtime rival of the Democratic Republic of Cretal.
Refugees able to flee headed for the mountains in the southwest, under the leadership of Edward Estlund, and have formed a tiny new nation called Edland.
The Cretal Free Press regrets to announce that it will be closing, with the seizure of its newspaper facilities by the Mormon government.
