The coming of the Farsight Enclave

The Farsight Enclave

OOC: for all of you who play WH40k and know what exactly the Farsight Enclave is, my nation will be sticking loosely to that theme, but i'll be changing some of the stuff around the more i RP with this nation, so it'll fit in better with the other stuff going on.

For everybody else, the Farsight Enclave is a race of aliens that are humanoid but physically smaller than humans. These aliens are technologically advanced etc. The Farsight Enclave is a rouge group of these aliens that leave the rest, and now have different morals and ideals. So this is just an explination as to why the Farsight Enclave has advanced technology for a nation that isnt more than a week old.

IC:

Commander Shas'O Vior'la Shovah Kaius Mont'yr, or as he was commonly refered to Commander O'Shovah, stood on the bridge of his
Gal'leath Vash'ya Mk XXIII, or Explorer class starship, gazing out into the empty void of space. It had been weeks since the Farsight Enclave had decided to leave the rest of the Tau empire, but O'Shovah felt it was for the best. The differing views of his people from those of the rest of the Tau Empire would bring nothing more than conflict, strife and grief to all. The massive exodus of many millions of Tau from all casts of life required a huge fleet.

Fanning out behind O'Shovah's massive flag-ship/carrier was a fleet large enough to carry and protect ten million souls. Many of the Il'Fannor Ke'lshan, or Merchant class, ships had been converted to accomodate civilians and carry the material needed to sustain life in the viod of space. Surronding the thousands of Merchant ships were the Kir'qath, or Defender class ships, making up the bulk of the fleet. Flights of Orca patrol ships could be seen patrolling the interior and near exterior of the fleet, although the powerful sensors of the fleet's capital ships could scan anything for millions of kilometers, making the Orca patrols more of a formality than anything else. Two more Explorer class starships, converted into Manta air-craft carriers, could be seen flanking the fleet, with an escort of Lar'shi T'olku, or Hero class, warships. The mighty Hero warships allso covered the rear and top and bottom sectons of the fleet.

Time was against the noble and idealistic Farsight Enclave, for it had been a long time since there had been any contact with an outside people. It had been an even longer time since any of the ships had detected planets that were suitable for colonization. A Y'edli, of the Air caste, brought the routine report from the fleet up to O'Shovah. He graciously accepted the data pad, with a practiced courtesy, but he barely glanced at it, because he had more pressing concerns on his mind: a few hours ago one of the Defender starships being used as a scout reported back that they were moving to investigate a strange energy spike they had found. Apparently there was an invisible blob -for no other word would best describe it- floating in space. They Defender received permission to investigate, and that was the last the fleet had contact with its crew.

"Nearing the coordinates, O'Shovah," stated the Explorer's Kor'el, or captain.

"Very good," commented O'Shovah, "Alert the fleet that we are-" O'Shovah's command was cut short as the sound of a massive explosion tore through the interior of every ship in the fleet. A blinding light filled the viewscreens on all ships and it quickly spread to the ship interiors as time itself seemed to slow for the terrified occupants of the Farsight Enclave's fleet. Just as soon as the chaos had started, everything returned to normal. Inside the bridge of O'Shovah's Explorer the sensors and other scientific equipment was working non-stop trying to annalize the data that was pouring in, trying to figure out what just happened.

"O'Shovah! We're picking up a hail from... our lost Defender!" shouted the Explorer's Kor'el, breathlessly.

"Acknowledge hail, and put their Kor'el on the main viewing screen!" commanded O'Shovah.

Seconds later a slightly bewildered, yet happy, Kor'el appeared on the central view screen, "Welcome to our new home, O'Shovah."

For it was true, the sensors could not lie, because they were built to well. The space all around them, not more than a few light years in any direction, was filled with inhabitable planets. Only time would tell if there was any alien races occupying those planets. But for now, O'Shovah was happy that his entire people had made it here, in one piece, no matter how miraculous the journey might have been

The mighty fleet of the Farsight Enclave quickly set about exploring the near are of space around them. Flights of Orca patrol ships were sent out on recon missions. Within a few hours one of the Orca patrols began to pick up a transmission comming from the galactic north, relative to their position.

O'Shovah studdied the data fromt the transmission being sent to him from the Orca patrol. "Did you run the language translator?" he asked.

"Yes O'Shovah," answered the Kor'el of the lead Orca patrolship. "It is not a language so much, as it is a signal. It may be a type of sensor signal, but we cannot be sure. What we are sure of is that it is comming from a ship that is nearing our position. Undoubtedly it is an alien ship. Your orders?"

O'Shovah remained motionless for a brief moment and then ordered, "Hold your position. I'm going to give the order for the rest of the fleet to converge on your location. Hopefully we can find who this signal is comming from."
