The Chariot fighting rebels
Description
The Chariot Mk 1 Infantry Fighting Vehicle is designed to carry 9 infantry soldiers to the battlefield and support them using powerful weapons, advanced electronics, and strong armor. The 900 horsepower engine is mounted in the front of the vehicle giving the crew and the "precious cargo" good protection over the frontal arc. The driver is located just in front of the turret with the gunner and commander being located in the turret. The 9 infantry soldiers are carried in the back with 4 on each side and 1 in the middle (usually the sergeant). The bay door is electronically operated with small "rollar skate" wheel on the top so the infantry can dismount and mount quickly and on the move. The Chariot's armor package is modular and can be customized to the threat it might encounter.
Lethality
The Chariot Mk 1's main weapon is a lightweight, soft-recoil, 105mm gun that can fire APFSDS, HEAT, HE, and Canister rounds along with a number of ATGMs and guided shells. The main gun is fed by a 12 round per minuter auto-loader that carriers 25 rounds of ammo; up to 15 extra can be stored outside the auto-loader. The main gun is fed by the J-LOCK-B fire control system, which can track up to 10 different targets and engage them all in a minute.
The Chariot can also fire the laser guided Garder Snake ATGM that has a range of 7km and attacks top down. The missile can penetrate 800mm of RHA and can be fired from the main gun.
The Chariot can also fire the Science Lab Snake guided shell. The shell can be APFSDS, HEAT, or HE. The chariot's main gun ammo is always guided and has shown to improve first round hit probability by 90%.
The Chariot is also armed with a 25mm grenade launcher that holds 1200 rounds of HE-FRAG with a ROF of 400 rounds per minute. The gun has a laser rangefinder and a maximum effective range of 2,500m. The grenades can be time fuzed to airburst over a certain location or set to point detonate.
Also included is a 12.7mm and a 7.62mm machine gun that can be controlled by the crew or by any mounted infantry via video feed electronics.
There are two firing ports on the sides and back that allows mounted infantry to engage targets.
The Chariot is linked across the AKIS (Ass Kicking Information System). Every vehicle/soldier equipped with the system appears on a GPS map and shares target data, location, and communication systems. This makes the Chariot even more lethal on the battlefield.
The Chariot is also equipped with a optics blinding laser that can blind optics out to 4,000m.
Survivability
The Chariot's armor package is modular and has three levels of protection.
Level One: At this protection level the Chariot is capable of withstanding 30mm APFSDS over the frontal arc and 15.5mm projectiles on the flanks. At this level the Chariot weighs 13 tons. The armor consists of infammable plastics and composites with titanium backings. There are a skirt of ball and chain added to the sides and rear that makes HEAT warheads detonate on them instead of the armor.
Level Two: This level is designed to protect against RPG and other HEAT warheads, a layer of MEXAS armor is added to the frontal arc and flanks this gives protection from the latest RPG warheads on the front and infantry bay. The Chariot weights 20 tons at this level.
Level Three: An additional layer of MEXAS, tungsten plates, and ERA have been added to give protection from Kornet, TOW, and other ATGMs. At this level the Chariot weighs 29 tons.
Of course the flexibility of the Chariot is unmatched, you can keep adding and configure the armor to suit your needs. The suspension and transmission can handle weights of up to 50 tons but the speed and cargo capability is severely reduced.
The Chariot Mk 1 is also equipped with the Shtora-C laser, IR, and radar jammer. When the vehicle is lazed the commander can pop aerosol, deploy flares, and chaff. The location of the laser is computed and transmitted across the ASIS system.
The vehicle also has the Arena-E hard kill system. A instant radar detects incoming ATGMs and launches a grenade at them. The grenade explodes near the missile destroying it. The Arena system can be automatic or manually controlled for point defense agaisnt infantry.
Mobility
The Chariot has a 900 horsepower hydrogen turbine and a strong and flexible tramission and suspension system. The Chariot can reach a speed of 70 miles an hour on the road and 50 miles an hour off the road. The Chariot has a range of 600km or 800km with additional fuel tanks. The Chariot also has amazing agility and can turn or stop on a dime. At protection level one and two the Chariot is C-130 deployable and at level one is airdroppable. This gives the Chariot good strategic mobility as well as tacticall mobility.
Cost: 2.5 million USD
