The captain of the Third Warband Cruiser 'Sinkum' dejectedly looked out at the horizon ahead of him.
He had had a bad day.
He had been sent by the Admiral to find a cargo ship carrying arms that was suspected to be in the area, wound it with a small torpedo then steal all the guns and sink it.
It had all gone so smoothly until the torpedo hit and the ship sank like a brick, taking all the arms with it.
He sighed and looked out to sea.

A few minutes later, a small man burst into the bridge clutching a scrap of paper and saluted the captain.
"Sir, I've just heard: The arms ship is still in the area, ten miles north of our current location."
"What are you talking about!?! We just sank it, didn't you see it?"
"Sir, that was just a refugee ship apparently."
"Oh, goodie, that explains why it was so weak and unguarded and why there were so many crewmen."
"Refugees, sir"
"Whatever", he turned to the man at the wheel of the ship, "Set a new course, bearing 000".

Gormland officials defied the mobs of foreign journalists to vow that their nation was in no way involved in the sinking of a ship filled with refugees of - at this point - unknown origin. The accusation was made earlier this day by a sailor aboard a Gormland fishing vessel who testified to the press that he heard loud shots coming from the shore.

Captain LaGrande of the Gormland Coastal Defence said: "At this moment, we are determining under which flag this boat was sailing when it went down." Questions as to how the boat sank were met with increased apathy. When asked about Gormland's sympathies towards those who drowned in the icy waters around Gormland, Capt. Ezra replied: "Everyone aboard a ship - especially a refugeeship - knows the risks. They should have brought better lifejackets."
