In the nation of Magnus Valerius, one of the three superpowers residing in the region of Kortania, there is trouble brewing.

After Emperor Alexander I initiated a compromise to create an overhaul of the education, the Baronial Council of the country left him alone in the Imperial Court Hall. They were terribly furious, especially by the looks of Baron Moustaka's red face. When caught leaving the equivalent of a parliament hall in other countries, Moustaka replied fiercely, "I don't know how that despicable man was voted emperor when the old emperor left no heir! He's turning this country into a haven for smelly, long-haired hippies and socialists!"

Other barons have cried foul on some of the last reforms the previous emperor, Emperor Magus I, imposed on the country before his demise just a few short months ago. He created suffrage, allowing any man or woman over 16 the right to vote on certain issues and for certain gubernatorial positions. Baron Piccolomini and Baron Valentino both cry for a distinct change in politics. "We are reactionaries - fierce conservatives by blood and by divine right! If the emperor thinks otherwise, then we, the barons, will take matters in our own hands! He's a terrible socialist, an anarcho-liberal! He wants to make this a libertarian country ruled by the proletariat! And he started it with the joining of the UN!"

"Actually, I consider myself just a liberal," retorted The Emperor, but he soon left as his young son had regurgitated his morning meal all over the leader.

Already there had been sightings of the Baronial Court, known officially as The Pasgrave Council, seeking professional soldiers and stocks of weapons near the city of Orissa to the northwest of the empire. The colonies of the empire are also feeling the strain of the problem. Just recently, a coup on the senate house in Fortress of Valeria had placed Presidential Dictator Bela D'Arras at the reins of the country. The Valerian Mines had its leader, Duke Franco Piemonte, killed at the hands of unknown gunmen; the duke since has been replaced by John Chrystakis, a high-ranking officer. He had proclaimed himself Emperor of the Industrial Colony of The Valerian Mines, and had ordered the construction of castles along the border of Magnus Valerius, to counter perhaps a few redoubts scattered across the imperial border. Knights of the technologically backwards nation of The Mines have been countered with the increased watches of the 1st, 4th, and 8th Imperial Rifles.

"Steady men, if these ingrates were to cross the border in an attack on the sovereignty of our nation, then we shall give them hell!" stated General Angelo. It has been a week since the Baronial Council dismissed itself.

Little did General Angelo knew was that was exactly The Valerian Mines had in mind. They crossed the border in their armor, and unleashed the first rains of arrows upon the redoubt they were positioned to attack.

The greater shock came later that same day, in the bustling city of Orissa. Orissa was a prime port and rich agricultural area, producing cattle in its open vicinity, grain in the marshes to the north, and apples along the smooth hills and rivers. It was also a fiercely conservative region.

That is why the barons chose it as the starting point of their movement. In a massive gathering, Baron Moustaka, who is still strong-willed at 69, proclaimed to the masses of the city on the steps he and the council were taking to make Alexander's life the worst it can be. Clearing his throat, the old baron began to speak to the now silenced crowd.

"Citizens of Orissa - hear me out! Emperor Alexander is a festering tumor to the facade of our great empire! That is why us of the Pasgrave Council have banded together - to forge a new empire in the old one's place! We will return our nation into the moralistic, devout beacon it was a couple of decades ago, before that geezer Magus and that insolent child Alexander wrecked our nation. We will save it from destruction, and we will ring in a new golden age. Follow us, the Barons, for we are now The Restorationists! There's nothing to fear, as we have the mighty forces of The Valerian Mines and The Fortress of Valeria by our side!"

The crowd cheered, and immediately men went home to gather their arms. The barons smiled gleefully, and then the coronation ceremony took place. Baron Moustaka was now known as Emperor Felix I of the Orissan Empire, of the House Moustaka. Orissa was only a small starting base of around 5 million citizens, but it was to grow, and with the international community most likely going to jump in, they can probably count on Imperial America, a powerful nation in Kortania, to come in on their side. After all, they had similar political views. But what the Orissans didn't expect was the possibility of other nations in Kortania and outside of the Region.

Since Orissa and the opposing colonies are puppet states, I cannot RP them. However, other nations may support them in battle and may commandeer their forces. The Valerian Mines, as stated, are backwards and use Medieval - Renaissance military tech. Oddly, they have extremely advanced industrial tech in comparison. Magnus Valerius is stuck in the 19th - early 20th centuries with its tech. Orissa and The Fortress of Valeria have similar tech, but the Fortress has developed tanks already - and had gotten far in its development; thus, they have tanks that can feel at home in WWII.

So, feel free to join the conflict on any side!

Having long looked at the nation of Magnus Valerius with some fear, following the appointment or election of the Emperor Magus, the Kingdom of Austica will devote much force to the Restorationalists. Magnus Valerius must be returned to the old Kingdom and Empire that it was.

Here are the measures which Austica shall undertake:

1) Firstly His Majesty King Robert II of Austica, has commanded that the Kings-of-Arms immediately research the lines of the Valerius Royal Houses, in order to find a geonological heir to the throne who is blood royal, and therefore should be seated on the throne of the empire. There are many possible candidates, including the Baron Moustaka whom it would appear is a thrid or perhaps fourth cousin to the late Emperor and last of his house.

2) His Majesty the King has commanded the following forces immediately leave to the region to fight alongside the Restorationalists:

His Majesty the King wishes to meet personally with the Baron's of the Restorationists. An invitation will be dispatched to Baron Moustaka to travel to Monash Castle in the Kingdom of Austica. It is important that the Restorationalists are successful and that the usurper Alexander is removed and the righteful blood heir is made emporer.

The Radical Libertarian Paradise of Frigben wishes well to the democratic leaders of Magnus Valerius, but do not intend in joining this conflict, in what we consider to be an internal affair. Should we be called upon to send a few troops in a dire situation, we will gladly oblige, but for now, this is something only the Valerians can handle.

Actions in the State of Magnus Valerius have calmed down. OVer the past few days little interest has been shown, and no direct action has taken place. The Kingdom of Austica has therefore decided to withdraw the majority of its forces from the region.

The following reduced forces will remain in the region as a peace keeping force and will not side with any particular group. These forces shall form the basis for OPERATION SAFE TRANSITION, and will oversee the return of peace and stability to the region.

His Right Royal Highness Gaz I wishes it to be known that 'The Alexandrians' have the full support of the United States of ManGaz. We are a small country but hardy warriors, in need of a battle to blood our history.
Let those who would oppose the righful Lords fall under the boot of Justice. In this case the Sleeping Dogs should not be let to lie.

As Emperor Felix Moustaka of Orissa heard of the news of Austica's joining of the war on his side, the competing emperor smiled with glee. "Set up diplomatic relations with Austica - get an embassy up! We must dethrone Emperor Alexander together to win!"

Already, Orissa had mobilized 20,000 men into poorly-trained and slightly unorganized divisions. These are the 1st Royal Rifles and the 2nd Arisandrians. Moustaka overviewed with glee with his supporters, the barons of the old country. With Austica's aid, they surely shall win this war - and they will liberate the throne for their purposes.

Meanwhile, in Valerius Prime, the capital of Magnus Valerius, Emperor Alexander appeared before a crowd to meet the dissenters with harsh words. His moustache was slightly upturned, and he was dressed in military regalia. "Citizens of our fair country! It is known that the cutthroat Barons and the colonies that their evil influence had swayed are armed against us! However, we have The MVEF to guard us from any colonial expeditions into our frontieer. We are mobilizing the forces - 120,000 so far have been called up, and many more will be soon enough. These traitors will be brought to justice, and if any supporters of them are found, then they shall end up like these folk over here!"

Turning to his left, Emperor Alexander revealed from behind a curtain a line up. Tied to posts and blindfolded were nine of the barons, caught behind and still in the lands of the empire when Orissa declared itself under the command of the barons. Nine soldiers were lined up, and aiming their rifles high, they shot all of the barons at once. The crowd gasped as the bloodied corpses of the barons sagged down the polls. Soldiers came up behind and cut the ropes holding them to the posts, allowing them to crash in a heap.

"And now, with Austica aiding our foul enemies, I now bring our country to this - we Declare War on ALL RESTORATIONISTS, AND AUSTICA! They will be brought down, and the Libertarian Government that I plan to install will be victorious!"

The crowd cheered, and immediately a chant came about, crying "Kill the Bastards! Kill the Traitors! Kill the Austicans!"

The port at the city of Warburg held a squadron, one of the most elite squadrons of the nation. Once the declaration of war was brought upon the country, the ships sailed out to see. These were mostly dreadnoughts: HMS Kaiser, HMS Hohenzollern, HMS Plantagenet, HMS Bruce, HMS Constantine, HMS St. Valerian, HMS Bourbon, and HMS Romanov. They were commanded to patrol the seas to watch for Austican ships. Time will tell when they will meet them.

Upon hearing the news of the demonstrations and the murder of the Baron's the Ministry of Defence has ordered all forces returning to Austica to reverse course and return to Kortonia to attack enemy forces.
Extra ships have been dispatched from the Monash Islands fleet base to engage enemy ships. They include the four battleships, Royal Oak, Royal Sovereign, Hood and Crown Prince.

The Austican fleet sails inbound towards Kortania. All weapons systems at high ready. The fleet then splits into three carrier battle groups all headed for different regions. Upon the order of the King, all surface combattants raise the Battle ensign. Once more, Austican forces will go to war.

The four amphibious Assault ships land all of the 3,600 Royal Marines. The King dispatches Lt.Gen. Sir Greg Henry to make contact with Baron Moustaka. The 3,600 Royal Marines immediately move in to take over some of the southern towns.

At the same time the Royal Navy of Austica orders all of the Army forces which are presently stationed in the Restorationalist Zone in Kortonia (all 75,000 of them - as per Austica's original orders) to invade Kortonian territory. More forces are deployed. The King following advice from the Prime Minister, orders a sustained buildup of up to 550,000 troops over the next few days to move into the Restorationalist zone, then subsequently into Kortonian Alexandrian territory.

E-2 Hawkeye Aircraft patrol 24 a day over Alexandrian territory, escorted by as many as 6 F-35 JSF's armed with AIM120 AMRAAM's and Maverick Missiles.

Upon the order of the King, each Cruiser in the three carrier battle groups launches AGM84 Harpoon missiles at the following Alexandrian forces: Plantagenet, Bruce, Constantine, Kaiser, Bourbon and Romanov. The barrage is strategically planned so that each enemy ship has 3 Harpoon missiles inbound.

Royal Navy forces cannot find the other battle ships, however have deployed from the 3 carriers a task group of 8 F/A18 Hornets armed with long range anti-air missiles and Harpoon missiles to search and destroy all other Alexandrian ships.

Prince David of Kortonia, currently known as David Kortonia is living in exile in a nation in Europe. His Royal Highness is feircely conservative and is a supporter of the Restorationalists. Austica's plans will be to restore Prince David to the throne of Kortonia as King David II

Baron Moustaka has been named as 23rd in line to the throne, and the Austican Government recommends to the Restorationalists War Council, that Moustaka be made a royal duke. HRH Prince Moustaka, Duke of Kortonia.

It seems that Austica wishes to create a gigantic puppet nation out of the entire region of Kortania. Well, that is what the newspaper all over Magnus Valerius were saying. Maybe it was the same in the neighbor superpowers of Frigben and Imperial America. "AUSTICA WISHES TO TURN KORTANIA INTO SATELLITE NATION WITH PUPPET NAMED KING DAVID II!" all the newspapers blared in black ink. Meanwhile, Emperor Alexander had dispatched Franz Trieste and Phillipe Mauclerc, his two procurement envoys, on missions to purchase fortifications and ships.

Several divisions have been called up and armed. These divisions will be loaded unto a transport steamer and sent to the shores of Austica with an escort of a few dreadnoughts, cruisers, and battleships. These divisions add up to 120,000 men. There were artillerists, with their gas shells and explosives ready, cavalry with horses and sabres in tow, machine gunners with their field guns, and the standard rifleman armed with repeating rifles. A few biplanes were stored in transports too, but these were to be scouts. Magnus Valerius was still in the process of getting an acceptable biplane design for using in dogfights.

Meanwhile in Orissa, Emperor Felix Moustaka snuffed at the 'true' heir. Granted, it was a little odd to find a king for an entire region. Yet, he assumed that it was for the best. Or maybe the king of Austica confused David as The Emperor to Magnus Valerius. What if it was a son of Magus I that was still alive? Magus I was the previous emperor... in that case, it would be good for Felix to accept the terms of being a royal duke, and then murder David II when he has the chance - and that is if they reconquer Magnus Valerius.

The Royal Rifle Divisions in the north are having a good time picking off men in full steel armor from The Valerian Mines. That armor had glancing surfaces for edged weapons, arrows, and sometimes bullets, but that armor won't save them from artillery shells. The government of The Valerian Mines has turned into a fascist government, and is sending some funds to Orissa so that small offshot run by Felix Moustaka can get some good men on the field.

OOC - I meant the one country! Sorry Magus Valerius, not Kortonia. And Austica is at war with the Alexandrians. Please not that all previous posts stating Kortonia mean Magnus Valerius, and the heir to the throne is the heir to the throne of Magnus Valerius.

Alexander should be informed that any invasion of Austica is, well, quite rediculous. The fact is that an invasion of our land calls into effect PLAN X-RAY. This plan will see the entire Grand Fleet of the Royal Navy - this is the home fleet, which consists of up to seven aircraft carriers, one hundred and twenty five Cruisers and Battleships, one hundred and thirty destroyer, and one hundred and eighty frigates, will be called into a blockade which along with Royal Air Force's strike squadron will send barrages of surface to surface cruise missiles at you twenty four hours a day until you surrender. Should for some freak of nature, your forces break through the blockade, you will be resisted by the Army (That is all army forces presently stationed at home - approx 2.3 million troops as well as the Royal Civil Defence Force which is formed in every town, as a precautionary measure against the possibility of invasion. This is a civillian force of up to 35 million Austican men. In the event that your force did break through this, the Strategic Missile Fleet of the Royal Austican Navy would be forced to fire ICBM's with nuclear warheads against you and your people. That is plan X-Ray.

Seeing as you have challenged Austica, part one of Plan X-Ray has been initiated and the Grand Fleet of the Royal Navy has begun to fire barrages at your ships. Considering that each cruiser and battleship carries six anti-ship missiles, the first barrage will fire 3 missiles from each cruiser and battle ship - that is 375 missiles currently travelling towards your inbound fleet. 45 missiles are directed towards the transport steamer. The others are stretegically directed to hit each of the other ships.

I know this seems like overkill, but we are a large country and fiercly patriotic. If anyone dares to invade our nation we will respond accordingly

HRH Prince David is not connected to Austica in any way. The Austican College-Of-The-Arms keeps detailed geonological records of all the monarchies of the world, and therefore we have discovered that David is the heir to the throne.

David, however has decided that if the Restorationalists do win the civil war, he would assume the throne, only if there are no concerns from his cousin Baron Moustaka. Both are eligable to the throne, therefore Austica will mediate any discussion between the two cousins, and whatever their decision will be respected by Austica.

Austica reiforces its full support for Baron Moustaka and the true heirs to the throne.

OOC: Hmm? Are you sure your econ can support that large a fleet and army (at full mobilization)? Either way, I can scrape the bottom of the barrel in terms of men - and then I'll have an army in a number that is a substantial portion of your pop. ;)

A few scout subs went before the HMS Hohenzollern, which was leading the armada. After close observation, the subs came upon the blockade that was among the defensive measures of Austica. The head of the sub, White Tiger, immediately contacted Captain Tiresias of HMS Hohenzollern. The invasion fleet was sent packing. It was a risk they could not take, since they had so few ships.

"Consider yourself safe, King Robert... for now," muttered Tiresias as he followed the rest of the flotilla.

A message was relayed back to Central Command, in which Emperor Alexander decided it may take a large show of Valerian industrial strength to turn the tide of the war. He ordered shipyards to be set at full speed - constructing more vessels. More vessels also needed to be mobilized, so he summoned the crews for many more ships in harbor. Finally, he opened enlistment offices acorss the nation to get volunteers to join the army. He needed a lot of men to crush the rebellion and to defend from any attacks by Austica. Then, he might try to annex Austica - that upstart of a nation, trying to be on the side of the religious, fascist whackos called Restorationists! At least, Alexander thought they were religious fascit whackos.

In Orissa, Baron Moustaka boarded a ship headed for Austica. It was only a commerce raider - a commercial ship armed with a few meager cannons. It had no chance to defend itself if it were to encounter a small destroyer.

He set sail, hoping to meet with the odd man, Prince David, and King Robert II of Austica. Maybe he could establish a plan of attack from Austica.

Austica is hereby forced to withdraw from the region due to further concerns related to the RNAAS, in another nation. We would very much like to assist politically in conflict. We will however only do this from a neutral perspective. Austica hereby sends Sir Allan Green, a diplomat to meet with Alexander, and also with Moustaka, in an attempt to assist in sorting out these problems.

Austica is hereby neutral in this conflict, and will only provide diplomatic assistance hereonin.
