Tarawa Class Amphibious Assault Ship

Type: General- purpose amphibious assault ship
Displacement: 39,300 tons full load
Armament: Three 127-mm (5-in) guns< six 20-mm AA guns, and two 20-mm Phalanx CIWS mountings
Propulsion: two 26096-kW (35,000-hp) steam turbines
Performance: Maximum speed 24kt (44.5km/h; 27.5mph); range 18500km (11,500 miles)
Dimensions: length overall 249.9m (820ft 0in); beam 32.5m (106ft 8in)
