Flagship Celestial Guardian, Exiting Slipspace,
Edge of the Sol System
_____________________________________________
The journey was almost at its end. Two months in the cold, ink-black void of Slipspace lay behind them. The Fleet was almost at full strength, losing a single ship during its voyage in an anomalous slipspace bubble.
The flagship was the first ship to emerge out of the non-Euclidian, non-Einsteinian realms, displacing a cloud of ice crystals that had for millenia been melted and refrozen into delicate weblike geometries. Celestial Guardian's running lights diffused through these particles and made a glimmering halo of hard-edged reflections. They were still a good distance from the terrestrial planets, and most importantly Earth, but the gas giants were still a charming effect and welcome sight from the abyss of Slipspace.
Mere moments later the single ship was joined by a near two-hundred masses, all emerging from the alternate dimension erroneously named Slipspace. There were destroyers, and both light and heavy curisers, Carriers and Supply Ships - a full compliment. They arrived almost simultaneously, powering down their Quantum Reactor's Overdrives and engaging sublight propulsion.
They began the silent journey towards the third planet from the system's star.
