Asmodeus Corsairs vs Omnian
OOC: For anyone wondering what this is about, read here first: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=111044
As the sun rose over Marduk harbor, the largest harbor in the nation, a swarm of ships moved into defensive positions. The fleet was a ragtag one, consisting of speedboats with Gatling guns, fishing boats with mortars, yachts with torpedo launchers, barges with tanks on their decks, and every other conceivable manner of makeshift warship, along with a few conventional warships. The Yamato class destined to become the fleet's flagship was still undergoing restoration, and would not see battle today.
Hopefully, everything will go well for you. Just in case, I'm moving a carrier battle group to the area. Let me know if you need it.
I don't think we will need the assistance of any navy. We're confident enough in our abilities to fend off this attack that we already have our counterattack planned and ready to use.
Hm... where IS that attack fleet? :?
Although we are still a bit peeved by your declaration of independence from us, supported by Skullzz... ::shakes fist:: we are also prepared to assist if needed. This is because an attack fleet is a danger to mainland Zorakia as well as Asmodeus Corsairs. We still don't care for your government. :P
If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were going soft. Now where is that Omnian? :? :? :? :|
Dont think you are getting off soft you puny fool! Our fleet has been..... delayed....
However, when it reaches your little spec of a pirate nation, your entire population will see no mercy

Ha! We'll see about that, now won't we? Having our roots in piracy only serves to benefit our navy, every last man in the navy comes from generations of experienced sailors. I would venture as far as saying that our lowest sailor probably has more naval expertise than your highest officer.
If you will not accept direct military aid from The Dark Legions of Skullzz, we will simply donate two of our trimaran hull battleships, recently purchased from Doujin. They're state of the art vessels and should provide some heavy firepower to back up that unconventional fleet of yours.

The men and officers of the Republic of Elizabethshire Ship Helene lined the deck as they saw their first glimpse of Asmodeus Corsairs and her extremely unconventional fleet.
"Commander Mclain!" Captain Saunderson thundered out
"Captain?" The XO of the Helene asked
"Raise the Naval Ensign of Elizabethshire"
"Aye sir"
the XO shouted to two Lts (jg) to raise the Republican Naval Ensign (The Flag of Elizabethshire in the top left with blue covering the rest)
Captain! Naval Ensign hoisted sir!
"Sound General Quarters (not battlestations) prepare sick bay. I have a bad feeling about this fishing fleet. Allow the gun crews to be off stations, but keep Radar and defense on stations. Radio the Commander of the Fleet in this harbor, tell him we will not enter the battle unless requested."
the XO nodded as he took the radio from the Bridge "Crew of the Helene, General Quarters, repeat general quarters. Guns tight." then turned to the Comms Officer "Comms, Radio CO fleet Asmodeus Corsairs. Inform him of our intentions to observe the battle"
Captain Saunderson "Weps, order your division to remain tight."
"Weps Co Lt. Cdr. Davidson, to all gunnnery stations, weps to remain tight."
Captain Saunderson "Bridge to Radar, turn on ageis, observe closely, put Asmodeus Corsairs on blue (friendly status).
"Radar to Lookouts and Radar, Asmodeus Corsairs on blue, repeat, Blue Asmodeus Corsairs"
Saunderson "Bridge to Sickbay, Prepare Sickbay for massive casaulties.
"Sickbay to bridge, sick bay will be ready in a hour."
"Bridge to Civil Guards, stand loose, be prepared to form into squads, reinforce gunnery, damage control or sickbay or boarding parties"
"Guards to Bridge: The guard is always ready
I think you underestimate the tactics of our navy :P . While we may be poorly equipped, we make do with what we have, and even surprisingly makeshift forces can do a good amount of damage. We'll just have to wait to see what happens when Omnian's fleet gets here.
If assistance is required i will be more then happy to provide militery/other assistance (Current+future tech) as my navy is er... new... I will dispatch several submarines to the area to "over see" the "peceful" resolution to this conflict.

The Captain read the telex from CO, Asmodeus Corsairs Fleet and just shook his head as he promptly called a meeting of chiefs Weps, Engineering, Radar, the Major in Charge of the Civil Guard Detachment, Navigation and Damage Control
"This is a informal division meeting. Lt. Commander Harrison, Can the Asmodeus Corsairs Fleet out run the Omnian's fleet.
Lt. Commander Harrison (Engineering Chief) The engines on these old and smaller ships are weaker. And if the Omnianian ships are even somewhat modern, they will blow them out of the water peicemeal. Unless the Foriegn Navies and the few conventional ships that Asmodeus Corsairs do a heck of a job
Lt. Commander Davidson (Weapons Chief) The weapons on those fishing trawlers and rafts, are actually fairly powerful. If the Asmodeus Corsairs shoot first, we could see a really really pitched battle and the odds are fairly even.
Captain Saunderson (Captain of the Helene) The Asmodeus Corsairs Fleet has requested that we Not open fire. But if it seems like they are losing, Weps, i want you to fire every harpoon we have and aim the 9.2s right at the biggest ship and blow it to hades.
Then i will have to end this war with as much blood shed as possible...

In our current situation, the only real assistance we need is in the form of war vessels. If our flagship Yamato class was ready to leave the yard, it would provide splendid support fire. However, we predict that it won't be finished in time to see action against Omnian. We could always be wrong, of course.
A military alliance, however, sounds promising. We fear that the instant the word "pirate" reaches many nations, they will launch a self-righteous crusade against us. While we can handle the fool Omnian on our own, an attack from other nations would not be good for the development of our nation, to put it lightly.
Elizabethshire, I assure you if there is one advantage we have against the approaching fleet, it is speed. The fishing boats and barges and such are kept back, and out of direct combat where they have the least chance of being hit, and their longer ranged weapons can still strike. We have many hundreds of speedboats armed with Gatling guns and rockets, and these can easily outrun the mechanical turrets of any modern warship. They may not pack too much of a punch comparatively, but they are damn near impossible to land a hit on.

Those will be put to good use in our service. Once again, thank you for providing us with them, we will make sure you are rewarded in whatever capacity we can. Man, I need to get around to naming the conventional ships. :?
It's beginning to look like I might be able to put up a fight with conventional warships alone. I have two South Dakota class of my own, the CS Apollyon and the CS Midgard.
South Dakota class battleship
Displacement: 35,000 tons
Length: 680'10"
Beam: 108'2"
Draft: 29'3"
Speed: 27 knots
Complement: 1,793
Armament: Nine 16" guns; twenty 5" guns; twenty-four 40 mm guns and thirty-five 20 mm guns
Together with the two Mackensen class battleships and the two Kuznetsov battlecruisers, I have plenty of big guns to meet them with. I'm still regretting that the timing of this didn't work out to put the Yamato class into action, she's so close to being ready for battle. :?
This is getting frustrating... I wanna see some action here!

Again, I want to see some VIOLENCE here! For the sake of... justice, yes, justice of course. Asmodeus Corsairs, how long till you finish restoring your Yamato?
The Yamato should be finished within the week, and if this is delayed any longer it may be ready in time to see service against Omnian after all.

The Federation Navy submarines are there solely in an observation and advisory role. Their rules of engagement clearly state that they will not fire unless fired upon first or your government requests intervention.
Very well then. If you require anything, feel free to dock and make use of the locals. Of course, let us know you're entering our waters first, as some of our crews may be a tad trigger happy.

Asmodues. We need confirmation soon, whether the fleet dispatched to your nation will be needed or not. If it will be needed here and wont be sitting collecting dust for 6 weeks it will stay there. If it is not needed, say so now so i could put it in a more serious conflict. I am currently at war with a nation with a population near mine and i need all ships and military i have for it.
If it is not going to be used for a while here tell me now, or else i will just take it back
Still no action? Bah... Well, at least if this keeps up a bit longer I can see how well that Yamato class will do in combat. I might have to have one of my own built if it does well enough. :)

It will not be needed. Our navy can handle this ourselves, let alone the legions prepared to pound Omnian's fleet to the ocean floor if we have underestimated them.

The posibility of future alliance seems promising but now we will stand off and not interfear unless called upon, and in that case they may take awhile in ariving at the battle.

If our battle plans go as expected, it will be very happy hunting indeed.
I think that we need some form of makeshift entertainment until Omnian arrives. Maybe we can have custom built play-doh shells and fire them at each other? :)

--Double post--
The worst is EXACTLY what I plan on doing.
The swarms of fast attack boats moved out of the harbor, making room for the much larger battleships to take shielding positions around the harbor, artillery ships, and civilian vessels. The last attack boat sped out of the harbor, followed by the massive Leviathan, the Navy's Yamato class flagship. The Leviathan maneuvered in to block off the last space in and out of the harbor.
The fleet had been given the order to attack as soon as the first ship of the Omnian fleet entered national waters. As the sailors anxiously looked on, the signal was given. Air raid sirens across the island were sounded, and many captains unsheathed antique war horns, blowing them along with the sirens.
The fast attack vessels quickly went to meet the Omnian fleet in battle. As they reached range of the ships, the first salvo of fire came from the Omnian fleet. Some ships were hit, but most continued on. More shots fired, and the battleships and long range ships in the harbor fired back. One of the Ticonderoga class ships went up in a massive explosion, its magazine had been hit. The other ships quickly realized the raid swarm was not their main problem, and began to charge for the harbor. The attack craft caught up to them, and machine gun fire began to pick sailors off the larger Omnian ships. Rubber rafts full of armed sailors approached the vessels, and threw grappling ladders onto the decks. Asmodeus Corsairs now had their sailors fighting the enemy man to man on the Omnian ships.
As the smoke cleared, the result of the battle was clear. Asmodeus Corsairs had dealt a significant blow to their first enemy, losing only 30 fast attack craft, and 59 men. This was a small price to pay for the honor of their country, and in vengeance of the Viking.
Omnian, post losses.
Omnian has lost all contact with navy vessels... what the fuck is going on?!?!?!? :x
Here's what's going on: One of your Ticonderoga's was instantly destroyed. An Arleigh Burke was boarded, but has been deemed damaged beyond repair and is being towed to the scrap yards. The rest have sustained substantial damage but will enter service with Asmodeus Corsairs very soon. Your surviving sailors will be sent back via unpowered raft, I'd send someone to pick them away from the sharks if I were you. We may later allow the remains of the dead to return to your land, but not the remains of your admiral, who was found cowering in a crawlspace on the Nimitz class. His remains will be picked clean by buzzards, and his skeleton will be the figurehead for the Leviathan  Any questions?
This war is not over yet, Omnian. I have only defeated your pathetic attacking fleet. You will suffer our wrath.
Congrats on your victory, Asmodeus Corsairs. I'll have to stop by there and join in the festivities! :D

As the Sick bay of the Republic of Elizabethshire ship Helene began fulling up, the Captain of the Helene merely shook his head, the battle was as Corsairs predicted, all though quite costly to AC Side as the Sickbay of the Helene was proving.
"Ensign, Radio the Admiral on the Yamato, advise him that the Helene has about seventy-five Asmodeus Corsairs sailors, most in serious condition. Advise him that Radar and Sonar from the Helene show no ships in the area that are hostile. Ask him what he wants done with the wounded.
the ensign nodded as he picked up the Yamato's Radio frenquncy
"ACS Yamato, This is The Republic of Elizabethshire Ship Helene, We have seventy-five wounded sailors of your country's orgin in our sickbay, that we rescued after the battle. Advise us on your current plans and what you want done with your wounded.
Stabilize the wounded, once they are in good enough condition for transport send them to Marduk Hospital, we'll take care of their medical needs from there.

Oh, and it's CS Leviathan, Yamato class. :P
My navy is regrouped, its time for Omnian to face their judgement.
The CS Leviathan was the first out of the harbor, followed out by two Kuznetsov class battlecruisers, two South Dakota class battleships, two Mackensen class battleships, and two recently captured Iowa class battleships. Three Ticonderogas, 1 Oliver Hazard Perry, and three Arleigh Burkes escorted the big gun fleet, as well as a dozen landing ships, cargo ships loaded with small fast attack craft, and empty cargo ships. The fleet set a course for Omnian's shores, and soon disappeared over the horizon.
The bloodshed continues? :D
Yes, as soon as he posts here.
