Submarine Accident kills 125. NEED MEDICAL AID!!!

03-01-2004, 14:55
The Largest Submarine in British Navy's fleet is 390 meters long and has it's own shipyard due to the sheer size.
Its weapon compliment is so huge and extreme, that it could take hours to list. It is also a stealth ship when it is on the surface, this submarine is the most advanced with technogly and weapons, that is fear by British Navy's enemies. It is a truly dangerous craft, and that was proved today.

As normal after a routeen patrol, it comenced a docking procedure, the one exeption was that is was night time and diffiucult to see.
The Submarie got its bearings wrong and smashed into the the civilian quay side.

The Submarine is nuclear, with 20 nuclear missiles on board, they detonated first, this started a chain receation of explosions between the nuclear missies and normal missiles.

These explosions ripped through the submarine primaray and secondry hull, killing everyone on board.

The nuclear blast of the reactor and the missile tore and ripped its way through the quay side and hit and destroyed a near by resitdential housing estate, killing 75 people, and leaving 783 wounded.

In mintes the docks were complitly aflame, and has only just been controled by fire services.

With this enormous loss of life and destruction of the quay side, British Navy is declearing a state of Emergency and require International Rescue from any nation as soon as possible!

Thanks to the seeming ineptitude of the British Navy in handling nuclear technology, the State Department, on order of the Secretary-General, has declared that entire country a disaster area and advised Federation citizens to avoid travel to the area.

If people arn't going to give aid then at least help evacuate the near by resisidence.

The docks are not conected to the mainland of British Navy, and the wind is blowing south out to the open sea. So the nuclear cloud won't harm anyone.
All in all, the nation of British Navy is not enviromently dangerous, just the island with the docks are. (20 miles out to sea).

The Secretary-General's science advisors inform her that the radioactive debris from the explosions will render the island uninhabitable for many years to come and that only individuals on the opposite side of the island from the blast may escape with their lives.

Secretary-General Brown then reluctantly declares the entire British Navy island a "nuclear disaster area," rescinding the earlier decree, and sets it off-limits to Federation citizens except those specifically authorized by the Sec-Gen's Office.

She also orders an experimental "wingship" under development by Transdynamics Corporation to be outfitted with hospital and decontamination gear and temporarily commissioned by the Federation military. Two Nuclear Emergency Response Teams load up with the wingship's crew and depart for the island.

The Armed Republic Of Nazguul Ministry Of Defense
Official Statement
The Armed Republic Of Nazguul would like to offer it's sincere condolences towards the British Navy. This is an unfortunate happening, that did result in dire consequences.
Although our small Nation is ill equipped to give humanitarian aid on a large level, we will send two Hercules Transport planes filled with enough supplies to build a small Refugee/Hazmat containment centre.

Best Regards and Best Wishes during such trying times,
The Armed Republic Of Nazguul
President Viktor Lazlo

If the weapons didn't actually go critical (which they wouldn't), only those in the immediate harbor area and the township that was hit directly by debris would be hopelessly lost. Survivors in outlying areas of the island might be rescueable.

:) Only if they are triggered at the exact same moment and cause the implosion to occur perfectly. With the situation described in his initial post, it would seem that the missiles themselves exploded upon collision... not the warheads.

OOC: Somebody might have told you this already but just in case, For the warheads to explode they would have had have been armed! If they were armed we would like to know why!!
03-01-2004, 17:03
Trinis offer their condelonces for those killed and injured. We are small and have little to offer. We are sending $10,000 worth of medical supplies. But we also cannot condone such a enourmous submarine and suggest your further vessels be smaller and equipted with less nuclear armaments.

The Largest Submarine in British Navy's fleet is 390 meters long
and then you ask why does misfortunes happened! a submarine of 400 meters will sink in 10 or 15 minutes.... it's TOO much long!!
i'll send 2 antonov 225 to bring your people to safer zone...

We are sending a team of one-hundred:

30 Medical Personnel, with equipment to deal with radiation sickness
30 Nuclear Cleanup Personnel, with equipment to clean up radiation
40 Engineers to either teach you newer methods of power generation or teach you how to use your current technology better.

We also hope this will be a catalyst for your nuclear disarmament.

We too ask why the warheads were armed, and if they are always armed, talk to the engineers about how to build a switch to arm and disarm them. If they did not cause a nuclear explosion, then we are glad.

As for those who say that it would sink, it depends on the construction materials. A metal submarine would, but probaly not a composite submarine.

The Sultanate of Insecto send the British Navy the required number of bodybags, black of course along with it's highly trained Disaster Relief Battalion along with medical equipment, heavy construction machines, Ammunitions Disposal Teams, ABC-suits, the whole nine yards basicaly.

Pro Bono of course.
Chellis
03-01-2004, 18:32
Chellis is willing to send elements of the first air assault division, mostly the H-2 helicopters and operators, as well as a company of NBC scientists and a government funded group that helps with relief programs.

However, we are not sure that we trust a nation who had twenty nuclear missiles at such a young age. We would require knowledge of all other nuclear weapons you possess and the status of your program...

Inauna has dispatched a special emergency to handle your request.
We have deployed a group of 360 men and women with the necessary supplies to help contain and reduce the presence of radiation on your submarine and surrounding enviroment.
