Mestionian officials announced today that a prisoner being transported from a Rebeland detention center to a Mestionian patrol boat was killed today while trying to escape. Eric Johns, a former Mestionian military officer, was caught in Rebeland several days earlier and suspected of espionage among other crimes. Upon request of the Mestionian government, Johns was to be transferred to Mestionian custody for prosecution in the deaths of 4 Mestionian prison guards. Unfortunately, while being guided to the Mestionian Patrol Boat Tigress, Johns, a trained escape artist, broke free from his restraints and quickly took hold of a pistol attached to his guard's hip. Several shots were fired from all sides. After a brief firefight, two Mestionian guards lay dead, and one soldier of Rebeland lay wounded. Johns was shot six times and died at the scene. No hostilities exist between Mestionian and Rebeland because of this incident. A memorial service for the two fallen guards will be held in Mestionian's capital of Cape Hope tomorrow evening.

Considering the horrible crime your nation has commited and its horendous violation of the anti-espionage bill of 1999, we are going to consider military action.

The people of Mestionian would rather die than have their honor questioned by a nation such as Rebeland, a nation who keeps its people under an iron boot. Statement issued by the government of Blargistania

The issue at stake must be resolved in a peaceful manner, with as little bloodshed as possible. The people of Blargistania would like to offer assistence in serving on the jury of an international trial. All possible sources will be looked into to determine the validity of claims made by both Rebeland and Mestonian. The jury must be international to keep the trial fair and neutral. In the meantime, all nations must order a general standdown of military forces to insure no flare-ups that instigate war. As a warning to any war-mongering nations: threats will not be acknowldged, and any threat of military action will be met with an international defensive response. We hope this can be settled as a trial instead of a war.

Typically a plane that has an F in its name, such as an F-16, is a fighter plane, used to combat other planes. You probably would have been better off using something with a B for Bomb in it, like a B-2. You would get more bombs and less planes. While that F-16 is capable of air to ground strikes, it might have been more effectively used to fly cover for the bombers. Your call though.

Troops have been withdrawn as have F-16's. Don't worry.
