What does it utilize?

Oh and, by the way, don't travel into the future, if you do that, the quantum waveforms in the period you are then, will collapse, having been observed. Making the future set in stone.

The USSCR demands that the time machine be destroyed and all designs wiped out. Time travel into the past is unthinkably complex. Travelling into Antartica in the 1870s could even have an effect.

"Time Travel" is automatically ignored by Central Facehuggeria for the time being, until we have figured out a way to nullify its effects so nations cant godmod their way out of sticky situations.

Not to mention that time travel in the classic sense is impossible. You can't break the laws of physics. You can only bend them.

Actually it IS theoretically possible to travel both back, and forward in time.

If you go back you can't alter anything, due to the "set" status of the quantum waveform of all objects observed by anyone in the past (when observed quantum waveforms collapse). However if you go into the future, what you do observe will be "set".

There's your answer fishbulb.

Perhaps you are right.

The point still stands. Time Travel will be ignored by Central Facehuggeria until a method to prevent godmoding is found.

But there's your method RIGHT THERE! I you go back you can't CHANGE anything. And it will take more energy than exists in the known universe to go forward. Even if you turn all mass into energy (in which case there's no point)

The granfather paradox has a solution, which exists within the laws of physics. If you go back, no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to alter anything that has gone before. This may be say... not being able to get out of your time machine, or events conspiring to stop you killing your grandpa (or Hitler, or Stalin, or whoever).

The grandfather paradox seems to me to be a bit of a muddle ... as are all discussions of the paradoxes surrounding it

What people forget when they worry about it is that if you travel back in time it must, by definition, be the case that you were already there in the time/place you travel back to ... because you *were* already there in the past ... Therefore, nothing you do will alter *anything* ... because it is exactly what you *did* at the time

Hey hey hey... blow that time machine...

It's goona mess everything!

Besides, what happens if it malfuntions?
