Why so many warmongers??
We, the peaceloving people of the great nation of Insecto, grow more and more worried about the young up and commers warmongering little nations worl wide who try to get their filthy little hands on WMD.
We, Insecto, have nuclear capability, if we wanted to we could most likely send man into space and build fancy missile shields and arm Intercontinental ballistic missiles with ABC weapons. But we choose not to. Why? Not because we can't do it, but because it serves no other purpouse than making our neighbours restless. We know they are not comming for us, and they know we arent going to cross the borders wielding our fancy military hardware.
If and when we cross the border it is in the shape of tourists. We go "Ay Caramba!", do the Cha Cha and bring back cigars, cocolate and new wives and husbands.
This WMD business and warmongering, young grasshoppers, is only going to give you guys sleep deprevation, bad morning temper and lack of sex. I say use the money to build casinos instead!

Too many crazed peons looking for a purpose and a sense of power that they lack in their own pathetic little life. Quite sad, really.
Just a note: I find it really annoying when people spell "coming" with two "m"s.
I have been suspecting that.
To bad they don't know what they are missing while they declare war on this nation or that region.
Me, I'm going down to my harem later on to chill out with my nekkid ladies.
Ay Caramba!
Well some nations jut wish to "flex their muscles" or declare war when bored.

Note taken, and will be taken under consideration. (I have a good excuse though. I'm not a native english speaker, or writer.. Well, it's not that good of an excuse after all)

A boring way to flex your muscles. I do wonder though if George Dubbyah was bored earlier this year.. lol
Most of the time, It is for one of 3 reasons to Aquire WMD: 1: The small nation, otherwise without WMD would gain no Leaverage VS Supper powers, Or the UN so they get a nuke and suddenly are a very big deal. 2: To keep Large Imperialist Nations from Taking them over, With the Threat of sending nukes at their major city's and 3: THEY ARE CRAZY MOFO's WHO WANT TO DESTROY/DOMANATE THE WORLD!!!!!!!! MY nation is looking into Nuclear arms for Reason #2. lol and most tend to go for reason 3 or 1...
He's been bored for his whole life.

There is just one little problem though with both reason number one and two. You have to be ready and willing to use your nukes once you get your hands on them. And basicaly the only way to be sure that you wount be nuked yourself is to use your nuke on a nation that doesent have nukes themselves, or they might retaliate. So basically nukes are useless if you want to get some leverage on either a superpower or the UN. What you need is a strong economy that can threaten the western world. An economy that doesent need to rely on superpower, UN, WTO or WB support.

I imagine that a large number of these nations are run by people who come from a standard tabletop RP background, with their 547th level mages and star-destroyers at the the ready ... Since most such games are run as little more than combat games anyway, the mentality they bring with them is that achievement is measured through numbers and numbers are gained through killing things, rather than through actual role-playing
I did a lot of such RPing in the past, but was fortunate to be with people for whom the numbers were far less important than the crafting of a real world and real people ... Some of my favourite moments in these games were when I failed in my mission ... a spectacular failure played out well, that has consequences later on, is way more fun than a bland dice-determined victory that does no more than add another point onto your stats or a few more coins in your coffers
It does have to be said, however, that in some cases war is the innevitable outcome of a political/diplomatic disagreement between two nations ... and some people may be RPing an expanionist, imperialist culture ... or possibly even the world we live in, in which case a nation might make war on another in order to gain control of resources ... or it might be historically inevitable between two nations ... ... ... It's not necessarily the case that all these wars are being fought fo infantile reasons ... some of them might be down to good RPing

Penis envy. They've responded to the spam, bought all the penis-enlargement products they can and are now looking for something bigger and harder to make up for their still only too apparent shortcomings
Its mainly because A) The only side of goverment we see in the media is warmongering and so on, B) They don't know how to roleplay and think, or they do but they think this is free form roleplay and go attacking everoyne with everything and C) They have no power in RL so the want some here, but forget most people are bigger, stonger and older than them.
One idea for sorting this would be having to read through information on how to roleplay before you join up. And have it bombarded in your face.
Another which we can all do is not flame n00bs so much. Why does nobody understand its easier just to say, this isn't freeform roleplay you only have a certain amount of money to spend.

Sorry for being off topic. Thats the best excuse in the world. You rarely see Americans speak other languages. When you do, there usually stuck up people. I would say your english is probably better then mine, and I'm an American.
Your english is very good, and you should be proud of that.
I do have to warn you though. If you are old enough, you might have seen the old Muppet Show, with the crazy swedish chef. That's probably how I sound when i speak. Although some people at Cambridge say I sound as if i come from an audience with the Queen herself. lol
But, back to topic again, Warmongering.
Personaly I think it's a mixed combo of the following:
A: Dorky people with nothing to say in real life, so they act fake brave and pfony tough on the internet, where they know their macho talk isn't going to hit back at them. It has no real life consequence. I have seen this sort of behaviour in several forums. And, i'm sad to say it's not just the young ones who act this way. Even older men and women, who outside of the internet seem to be reasonable, stable people totaly freak out once they go online.
B: Monkey see, monkey do. Daily we are shown war, machines of war, suffering, death, refugees, starvation etc, etc on our televisions, and in the newspapers. yet we don't really care, because we are not subjects to all this. It doesent happen to us. We are just a happy audience eating our breakfast cerials in front of the Tv set while we watch the latest war news. Thinking: "Wom, thats a cool instrument of death and destruction" And many people probably think that who ever gets their share of Uncle sams latest arsenal of death deserves it, since they probably don't like westeners, most likely have some sort of WMD (It has to be true since George and Tony says it is so). So, basicaly we just do as the big boys on TV do. "If you are not with us, you are against us!" Who can argue against that? Especially after being said by the man who controlls the by far most superior instrument of death and destruction the world has ever seen.
C: A growing inability to actually have a nice and friendly talk and argument, that doesent end up in a pissing contest. People are slowly loosing their ability to talk to and argue with one and other. I think this might be because people somehow seem to think that comming to an agreement with one and other is the same thing as loosing an argument. And we can't have that can we?
Well. I'd don't know what i want to say w ith all this. Just hang in there and think once more before pushing the big red button. Even though this is just a game, with no or little real life consequence.

Insecto
The Grand Nog omnipitent ruler of Bazookaville feels that tree hugging hippies such as Insecto. Should put there money where there mouths are if you can build nukes then build them plenty of people would buy them, and secondly if you can build rockets take your whole tree hugging colony with you.

The Armed Republic Of Nazguul Ministry Of Defense
Main Conference Room.
President Viktor Lazlo issues an official statement:
Although the Armed Republic of Nazguul is a new and up and comming nation, we believe that in time, starting a Nuclear Arms program would not only be profitable but smart. By having the means to build Nuclear Arms, we've got them for the defense of our peaceful nation, and also to export to other allied lands, who choose to use them for the same purpose and not to hold the world hostage.
Although, we have no plans to begin a program of said type, we do believe that there is quite a bit of warmongering going on, and we believe that there are rational and easier ways of solving these so called "political situations" than war.

The White Hats would like to add their unqualified support to the sentiments expressed by Insecto. We too cannot believe the unremitted carnage that is going on out there. That there seems to be no organised relief for the unfortunate victims of all this is nothing short of outrageous.
In an attempt to do something practical about this abysmal situation, we are mustering a rapid-response mobile medical corps of highly trained Paramedics. They will be ready to go into war-zones at a moment's notice to alleviate suffering, comfort the afflicted and also find small children and family pets.
We also have a fine troop of Riders, available on request to excort columns of refugees through war-ravaged landscapes (smoke machines extra). Or, on a happier note, provide ceremonial escorts for peace-signing ceremonies or proclamations of friendship.
And there are the elite Watchers. There to keep a quiet eye on evil empires and the like.
"We're the Good Guys!"
And in the trail of The White Hats paramedic squadrons The Sultanate of Insecto send their "Food and shelter program", providing basic humanitarian aid such as fresh water, electricity, food and sanitary facilities along with a burial detail with plent, plenty of black rubber bags...

I can't belive that they're aren't more nations in International Incidents, the forum for warmongering NS players, ready to respond positively to a peacemongering thre... Oh.
War is apparently more fun than peace. And a hell of a lot easier. It's actually easier today, and has been through out history easier to start a war than it is to end it.
I know this is just a game, but it might be something to think about, before you press the big red button.

If you take dorks as intelligent people, then what makes you think that some of them aren't aware of that possibility running their lives? Surely, there are those who are ethical enough to understand that, such as myself. Other than that, you have the psychology of a warmonger down.
However, you are lacking one.
A young adolescent, experiencing emotional growth, thinks that he/she has little freedom. Therefore, he/she feeds off of the internet. Influenced by the horrible lack of grammar and spelling in the standard chat slang, he begins to adopt it himself. The product: the average "n00b", referred to as an idiotic person who is completely clueless when truly inside he is a rational human being, only misguided. They do have the tendency to declare wars, which proves my point.
I take newbology as a hobby, it's a humourous one (at certain times) at that.

1. WMD= Weapons of Mass Destruction
2. I have an Excel Spreadsheet that figures out your number for me. TG me an e-mail address if you'd like it.
Back to the issue at hand. I agree with Sagatia. Most RPs consist of fighting instead of actual Role Playing. It is in fact the easiest way to role play because it requires the least amount of creativity vs. creating interesting characters with personalities and backgrounds and histories and such. With wars you just shoot....

And you know, it's funny, I've been around for a while and still don't have nukes even though I've been around for a nuclear war in my region as well as being nuked by desperate rebel terrorists from another country. The ironic thing is that my nation has won every conflict so far without them! As Military Advisor Ritusko Yamamoto says, "Nukes do not guarantee victory, PEOPLE guarantee victory!"
