Species of war

I thought its about time the different types of war were all compiled into a thread.

Basically, war in nationstates isnt black and white, it isnt even grey scale, its probably more of a 256 colors kind of scheme. There are many different types of war. Some which are destructive, some seductive, and some just plain stupid. Below is a list of the types of wars, with a bit of a Discription:

Species of war
Species 1: The bunny war
This war, appropriatly named after the nationstates Bunny, or as its is somnetimes called "that bloody stupid effing SH*t nation that spams up my region  ". The war basically, is more of a region crashing incident, where one region will decide to innvade another by mustering all UN delegates, moving to that region, and gaining the delegate position. Sometimes involving a griefing where once in the delegate position they delete everyone from the region.

Species 2: the serious war
This war is where nations will actually rp a good war, where there is no godmoding, ignoring or anything else. To be considered aserious war it must end with one of the nations being destroyed or surrendering, they cannot just let the thread go inactive. These wars will often boost both of the nation's reputation, afterwoods, the nations will usually be friends and wont really bother each other again

Species 3: the wor
'The wor' or sometimes known as 'ThE w0R' is usually started by a totaly stupid n00b. This n00b wil star it by posting "I DeCLar W0r on teh word!!11!" and is usually met by people sending a few nukes at them. If a nations starts a war like this they have no chance of ever been accpeted into the nationstates community

Species 4: the flame war
This war, usually starts out as a serious war, with a page of semi decent rp. But later on when all of the participants are really really pissed off and tired, one will come up with a post like
Nation A: "my 1337 soldiers sneak past your puny defenses and attack the reactor"
Nation B: Your stupid soldiers though took a left turn when they should have taken a right and they landed in a pit of molten metal"
Nation A: "Your just stupid you know nation B, my naqtions are intelligent, unlike you dumbass"
Nation B: "Eff you you idiot, your just a stupid loser who has no ife and spend your life in front of the computer. Stupid effing sh*t"
etc etc...

Species 5: The flame war II
This flame war, is considerably diferent to the first flame war. This war, will not be rped at all but father, 2 nations who have a lare rivalry will start out comparing their military strengths on MSN messanger. They will then go and say my forces could decimate yours, then it will evolve into a full flame war, insuilting everything and having past rivalries uncovered

Species 6: The ignore war
This war will usually start out as a serious war, several pages in though a nation will post somthing which is not possible or pisses of the other naton a bit. The other nation will just reply that they ignore you.

Species 7: The puppet war
This war, usually started by n00bs, will be badly RPed and have even worse grammar. The worse aspect of it though is that if there are 20 nations in the conflict, 17 will be puppets of the 3 real noations in it. Sometimes there are even more puppets. These wars will often dissolve into flamewar 'I's and 'II's. Often using UN multis to have a species 1 war.

Species 8: The godmod war
This war will be started out with somthing like the species 2 but may actually evolve into an okay roleplay despite huge amounts of godmoding. They may use decent tactics and it could be pretty entertaining, aslong as older expirienced nations dont clog up the thread with cries of godmod. (I do not endorse godmod wars, i just think that if they are ok RPed big nations shouldnt clog up the forum with whinges)

Species 9: The 1337 war
This war will be written in 1337 totally, this prevents anyone from understanding what is going on in the war. The war may be well rped, but this cannot be certained as nobody has worked out what is happening in the war due to language differences.

Species 10: The onesided slaughter of a n00b(suggested by The 7th fleet (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=The%207th%20fleet))
This occurs when a Species 3 is started by a n00b. After a few posts screaming godmoder a good RPer will come in and totally smash the n00b with only a quarter of the n00bs troops and equipment. These are often entertaining and always short lived because once the n00b knows that they are destroyed they will just stop posting.

Species 11: the OOC war
This war is when two nations start having a war, usually a serious war, but will constantly be OOCing the thread asking for confirmation of what is happening or telling the other person that they wont be able to post for a little while. These are really boring to everyone but may go up into 10 pages or more.

Species 12: The Pissing Contest(suggested by The Resi Corporation (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=The%20Resi%20Corporation))
No actual fighting is done in this war. Instead, people compare their various troops and machines to one another, trying to make their opponent's forces look weaker than theirs. Often this degenerates into a flame war.

Species 13: The War Against Self(suggested by The Resi Corporation (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=The%20Resi%20Corporation) and layarteb (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=layarteb))
Usually started by either a n00b who has no one he can fight without being obliterated or an older nation that wants to pull a gag, the conbatants of The War Against Self are actually all the same person, pulling in allies to both sides and attempting to get the world worked up over nothing. More often than not the nations realize that both combatants are the same person long before the fighting starts, but occasionally a fight can go on without a single person noticing that anything's amiss. But this can be done well actually between a nation and something else they made up, whether it is a terrorist threat or another non-existent nation or ex-nation that they are using. This can be a good one providing the player really takes it seriously when he plays and doesn't just maul this made-up opponent without taking any losses.

Species 14: The "N00bs with Nukes" War. (suggested byFalastur (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=Falastur))
This is started when a n00b declares his/her intention to get nuclear weapons, or claims (s)he already has them. Very shortly, older nations join in, declaring that if the n00b doesn't get rid of his/her nukes, they will be blown to kingdom come. The n00b either tries to respond, often with godmodding, or leaves the thread to turn into a discussion on mukes by the older nations. If the n00b stays, the situation rapidly turns into Species 10.

Species 15. "I'm bored. Want to godmod?" (suggested by falastur (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=Falastur))
Quite simply, a nation needs something to do, so they start a godmod war, labelling it publicly to be a godmod war. Several countries join in, usually with their 293458948745978435 n00ks and 3498059873478234809235 Death Star laser beams. Invariably the winner is the magic nation who teleports him/herself to another dimension, and then blows up the previous one. Either that or they get totally off topic and end the war due to a mod lockage for spam.

Actually, I modeled the good parts of the War Against Self on the first war I was in, Resi vs. what was then my main nation, Udona.

Actually, thinking about it, it isn't always. In fact, quite a few n00bs who claim they have nukes actually want to RP seriously, however, they oversaw the fact that instantly any small nation with nukes is a godmodder by definition here.Usually it's just bad luck, and they only want the nukes to feel safe. That, and the person who sells them the nukes often backs them up, and encourages them to keep them and use them against anyone who opposes.....

Yup. Especially when the n00b gets pro-nuke Allies, and the war becomes more equal. Then it goes on for a while, and either peters out or turns into an ignore war by the older nations. The n00b is forgotten all too soon.

Now n00b is diferent from newb (or newbie). A newbie is someone who is new to the game and doesn't have any footing yet and is learning. They must be helped as they are willing to learn. A n00b can be someone who plays for twenty seconds or twenty months. They are the idiot case who claim to have 50,000 pieces of armor and vehicles in their military and claim they can move it anywhere in a day when they're navy is the size of a row-bow company. Or they are just a complete dumbass with no willingless to learn and often resort to godmodding because they're mommies and daddies never gave them enough love.

Damn straight I did. USNAVY uses dolphins to find underwater mines and do reconnaissance work and whatever else they do down there. I'll take their word on it and use them but like I posted, not with the bombs, with a device to allow the release of homing beacons to be dropped.

No duh they're trained and so will these. The microchip just enhances all abilities whatsoever. Hell I just bought the chips and plans, not the dolphins, I got plenty of them being trained. I'll be able to use the massive quantity incase the test dolphins happen to die or what not.

Quite simply, a nation needs something to do, so they start a godmod war, labelling it publicly to be a godmod war. Which brings me on to Species 15.

Species 15. "I'm bored. Want to godmod?"

HEY, i ended up winning that by the way
