Neoluna seeks the greatest minds of the world...

The Colony of Neoluna would like to put to rest an issue which has plagued us from teh get go. Time after time - we have had many laws and policies passed which which would have benifited our nation greatly but our government was swiftly protested and certain industries boycotted to thier knees when a religious organization proted its bretheren to do so because it didn't go with thier chain of believes.

We would like to finally put to rest the anguish of our nation by logically and reasonably wieghing what is best. To turn our nation over to the largest religious order. Or to continue to run our nation and do what we feel is in the best interest of our nation.

The question we must answer first and why we have assembled the greatest minds of our world is this. What is the difference between Religion & God? Can Religion be concedered just another political party? Does a Religious organization have the right to medle in the politics of our world?

Please so state your rationale concisely and completely for the purpose of avoiding any misunderstandings as the Colony of Neoluna attempts to work out this issue with your help. And please refrain from stating your own personal believes or opinion - please stick to the facts, at least in your conclusions.

Since a religion is a set of abstract beliefs it might be considered not to be a political entity in its own right

Since, however, religions are founded by those seeking to proscribe (however benignly) how others should live they might be considered inherantly political

Moreover, since any *organised* religion exists to propogate the beliefs ensconced by the religious philosophies espoused it acts in a decidedly political manner

Finally, it is not possible for any such organisation to act without reference to the political realities of the society and world in which it finds itself ... especially not if it is at odds with the values of that society and world

This thinker proposes, therefore, that religions be considered political entities

I agree - religion is political.

But this admission is not a solution. What is Religions role on tadays world stage? What am I to do with my nation - perhaps Im just going to have to buy the suport of a state spomsored religion in turn for them speaking favorably of the policies we set.

But then how do we keep these large sums of money hidden? And how do I explain matters of integrity to my cabinet after doing such a thing?
