Today at 8:45 P.M Kurlein time, the richest person in Kurlej, Jackson Newt, showed a plan to construct the largest civilian naval ship in history. He calls it the Super City v1.0. He showed these planes to military personal and New Ware ships Co.

He says that this could provide a large profit and a new place for citizens to enjoy themselves.

Here are a few pictures of his plans

It is expected to carry an airport also.

(OOC- This is possible, see here http://www.howstuffworks.com/floating-city1.htm. So don't call me a godmodder unless you DO have a good reason.)

More news will be posted.

A surprise of raging SuperSonic Jets fly around the new SuperCity in observation, brought by 3 Enormous Carriers. The Jets were armed were Rocket-Napalm bombs.

ATA Prime Minister requests a UnNoticed inspection. We have no conditions of not releasing the bombs. Altho, we wouldn't go there anyway.

May we provide Security for your new harbor?

It will take an estimated 5 years for construction, 2 years to retrieve the materials needed, and 1 year to find the crew.

The estimated cost for everything is to be at the VERY least 56.3 billion.
Pay for the crew and maintenance is still to be calculated.

Our weapons would be capable of penetrating your "defensive" nets due to our technological and economical superiority. IF we wanted to sink this thing, believe me, it would be at the bottom very quickly.

First of all it's not a carrier and who says we won't guard it? Not to mention this is only a cruise ship. Any attack on it will be seen as a sign of war. We might add some AA guns and some anti-sub weapons..

And all the other nations, we thank you for your support.

Anyway some random info.

Length 4,320 ft / 1,317 m
Width 725 ft / 221 m
Height 340 ft / 104 m
Above Sea Level
Weight 2.7 million tons
2.4 million metric tons
Passenger Capacity 50,000 residents
20,000 visitors
Crew 15,000

So estimated passenger capacity is 85,000.

EDIT: And each one has at least 1 million inhabitants

Well does yours have an airport?
01-01-2004, 06:26
Yes, and mine have naval shipyards capable of laying down aircraft carriers 1500 feet long. But then, my nation is almost completely naval, that is where most of my focus goes.

How big is that ship? Stats?
01-01-2004, 06:29
Azov-class Supercarrier
-1,500 feet long, 400 feet wide
-3 decks+flight deck
-bottom deck is electronics and reactors
-middle deck is airplanes and munitions(safest, middle of ship)
-top deck is crew quarters
-5 elevators, one in each of the seperatley sealed aircraft and munitions areas
-1 control center per area
-170 aircraft capacity (150 airplanes, 20 helicopers)
-4 catapult launchers
-Crew:4,000 Airwing:5,000
-powered by 10 reactors turning 5 shafts, capable of 25+ knots
Cost: 10 billion USD, and they are up for sale.

I also have aircraft carriers based on the trimaran design capable of over 40 knots.

The Kaiser has a poignent interest in all projects of such enormous size and cost. As such, he is wondering what exactly you propose to stop submarine attacks from decimating this project. Because as should be obvious to you, the destruction of said project after its been built would be so unfortunately disruptive to your economy. Not that Tremalkier, one of the leading, if not the leading, submarine warfare experts would ever commit such an action. We are here solely to stop it from happening.

Kurlej

OOC- Yes, mostly for for sub detecting devices. Or give us some construction crews to help us. Once our economy is back up we'll construct a new one for ya.
Padmasa
01-01-2004, 06:44
Padmasa would officially like to offer 600,000 engineers from it's Combat Engineering corps to help defend the ship and to help in it's construction.

OOC: What's your tech level? If it's high enough I can offer gear that can detect radio emissions which might help you.
Kurlej
01-01-2004, 06:46
President Kurlej gives his regards. Once our ship is complete would you like one of your officials for a 3-year cruise?

OOC-I have a space colony, so I guess low-level future-tech.

Padmasa will gladly accept President Kurlej's offer. Should you at any time need it we can have a small army ready to be deploied on the ship to help defend it.

OOC: Hmmmm... I'm not sure if my equipment will fit that tech level or not. Meh, sorry.
Kurlej
01-01-2004, 06:50
Yes thank you.

OOC- I don't really mind,
01-01-2004, 06:52
Ah.

It uses a similar design to your own, in fact.

However, instead of a long, straight section it is in a different layout.

The different 'levels' are hexagonal from a distance, though up close are not smooth and in fact have many irregularities.

The diameter is approximately 6,000 feet.

The perimeter is in the vicinity of 11,000 feet.

The height is over 500 feet, comprised of 11 seperate levels.

The top level has three parts. One is large open air gardens, the rest is a financial district with buildings up to 10 stories. The reason buildings don't need to be very high is there is a lot of space, as the populations are relatively low for such huge cities. There is also an international airport.

The bottom three levels are reserved for the military and navy. The bottom two are specifically for the building of ships, and are in fact larger then the ones above because of the various jetties and similar structures jutting out. Above that is factories and military bases and training areas and bunkers and the like.

The remaining 7 levels vary in their purposes, but are mostly civilian in nature. While the population is currently in the range of 1 million per city, it is estimated each can hold approximately 5 million.

Ah, see our ship is only for citizen use.

Anyway time for engine info!

We had a small interview with Jack Newt about the engines. And this is what he said "It will take a tremendous amount of engine power to push the gigantic ship through the water. The vessel will be equipped with 100 electric engines that can generate 3,700 horsepower each. Developers project the cost of each engine to be about $1 million. If everything works it top speed should be somewhere between 5-10 knots. Building the ship will be seprete from the engine cost so that increases the price tag by 100 millin more."

Jack Newt was also kind enough to give us a cut diagram.

The ship will be under GDA protecetion once completed per Kurlej's request. All attacks on it will be considered attacks on the GDA and will be met with full military force.
Non-GDA nations are welcome to participate in this project. I am considreing setting up a temporary not-quite-alliance for those who wish to aide in the defence and/or contruction.

Well some military officials considered it as a repair platform or some supercarrier. But the supercarrier idea is ruled out.

What power plant on this ship? You'll need the capacity of an entire city to power that ship with reserve to compensate for system failures.
Kurlej
02-01-2004, 16:57
In addition to all of these benefits, Freedom Ship will also be environmentally friendly, according to its developers. There will be no sewage treatment plant and no sewage to spill. The ship will use incinerator toilets, which cost about $3,000 apiece, to burn all sewage. The ashes will be put in the flower beds. Waste oil will be burned in an exhaust steam plant to generate electricity, instead of being dumped in the ocean. All used glass, paper and metal will be recycled and sold and solar panels will be used as a reserve.
16-01-2004, 22:15

Yes it should. Its a major loss of capital and hurts morale immensely. Furthermore your losing major assets in everything aboard that ship, and all the money that the gov has to spend to protect it.
