LRR has lately seen the need for a light police/patrol ship. Most of LRR's current fleet is oriented to combat, science, and exploration. As well as this, most are either too big, too small, or too crowded for use as a police ship.

In addition to this, LRR patrol destroyers often have trouble manouvering with who they are pursueing, usually in a smaller and swifter craft. Not to mention the Rockland Class Patrol destroyer is primarily used as an escort craft and for system defense. They are not able to go off chasing criminals on their own.

In response to this deficiancy, LRR has reviewed several export designs, star trek in origin, and has decided to use several ships of star trek origin, heavily modified, to meet this requirement.

The first LRR police ship prototype is a modified Defiant class escort vessel. It has retained much of its Trekkian armement, excluding the quantum torpedos. It has been shortened from 120 meters to 110 meters in length, and a brig with the capacity for up to 20 prisoners has been added, along with the capacity to carry a single scout ship. Although it is only slightly smaller (by 15 meters) than the rockland class destroyer, it is a dedicated policing design.

Cost: 17 Billion USD

The second vessel is a modified Intrepid shuttle, and is equipped with a frigate-class hyperspace drive. Roughly one-fifth the size of most LRR frigates, at 27 meters, and slightly smaller than the Blade Mk. 10 heavy weapons corvette, the Intrepid LES is armed with a single light phaer cannon, and has the capacity to carry up to five criminals in its brig area. It carries a crew of four, and has room for up to 10 police officers.

Cost: 10 Billion USD

The Federation Starfleet Academy trainer proved to be readily adaptable to LRR needs. The resulting product is like a police cruiser, small and fast. It has the capacity for one pilot, one police officer, and two criminals in a small brig.

Cost: 900 million USD
