From the Office of the Premier - TRADE PARTNERS
[PRIVATE, I.N.H.]

Zeronia has very few trade partners. In fact, as of now, there are no active trading partners with Zeronia. Zeronia is rich with tradeable goods; raw, processed, manufactured, services, we can do it all. To instigate some economic activity within Zeronia, we are establishing a forum of discussion for future trade relations. All we want is to have a civil discussion of trading opportunities that will benefit both nations.

I must warn all prospecting nations beforehand that Zeronia has a very strict policy on private enterprise.

Regards,

Seňor Eduardo Castro
Minister of International Trade
The People's Republic of Zeronia

Anything is possible! But I'd like to give you some information first. If you wish, I can describe what Zeronia demands, and what Zeronia can supply! :)

First and foremost, it needs to be said that Zeronia is currently recovering from a massive economic depression. We’ve had to make major (but temporary) cuts to our military programs in order to keep the country running.

Our gross domestic product last year was totaled at approximately 95 082 322 500 000 ZC ($172 876 950 000 USD). Over 50% of the GDP last year stemmed from our industrial and construction sectors. Most of the economy is government-run. Due to tight restrictions on private enterprise, only small private operations and a select few larger companies (i.e. ZIMM, B&B Foodstuffs Co.) stay in business. All other “corporations” and “franchises” are owned by the government. This makes international franchising in Zeronia very difficult, but if none of our more principle laws are broken, and Zeronia clearly benefits the deal, then we may allow trial franchising in Zeronia. Trial franchising is traditionally done whenever a citizen who currently runs a small business or service wants to franchise. It can be applied to international businesses as well, however. Essentially, trial franchising involves the setting up of three or fewer places of business in Zeronia. If the business is a success and the government approves, then the owner will get franchising rights for those specific locations, and can apply for further franchising rights without any problems.

Nation-to-nation trading is very easy with Zeronia, as the government deals with everything. No middle man. Trading bulk goods can be done very easily with little or no hassle whatsoever. We currently do not have any bans on the import of any food products. Not only do we trade raw materials and manufactured goods, but we also offer services. These services can range from running training programs to aiding with construction projects.

Yet another method of trade that Zeronia is hopeful of is being contracted for the manufacture of products or processing of raw materials. Zeronia can be contracted for many different jobs. We can process your ores into pure metals, pound them into sheet metal, and make the high-quality parts you need for your industrial sector for a reasonable price. Initially, we will accept low-cost contracts to help spur greater economical output.

I am sorry, but we do not openly trade our military technology with others. Perhaps you may want to trade other goods or services?

This franchise is mainly a fast food resteraunt named Tom-atoes... never liked the name though... its quite popular in my nation and might serve you quite well
Zeronia
31-12-2003, 03:39
As soon as I go through the paperwork, Tom-atoes will get a trial franchising license in the People's Republic of Zeronia. The Ministry of Private Business and Services will allow the purchase of land and building of three places of business. I will personally oversee the operation of Tom-atoes, to make sure that everything is going smoothly, and that the company is following all local laws. If the trial franchise is a success, we will contact you and the business owner to set up more restaurants.

We got some oil coming on stream pretty soon from recently discovered deposits, we would be willing to enter into trade with.. well anyone really
Olavia

From the Olavian Secretary of Industry Donovon Trinston;
To the honorable land of Zeronia:
Olavia has recently uncovered vast deposits of Bauxite ore, which would normally be a boon to industry by allowing us to process it into aluminum.
However, the eccentric yet honorable Emir of Olavia, Sir. Robert Hun, had a rather heated, drunken bout with the aluminum-foil wrapper of his cigar box. While still enraged, he made the aluminum-processing industry illegal. We normally are able to find a loophole in his laws, but this one was surprisingly well written. It would benifit both of our peoples if you would let us set up aluminum-processing plants in Zeronia. It would help create many new jobs in your country, and, or course, you would be entitled to a good portion of the profits.

Thickwood - We are not big on oil, but we can arrange a contract for a biyearly shipment of oil for our petrochemical research. Contact me for further details.

Olavia - It is interesting that you bring up metal processing. Zeronia is very adept in this field and similar industrial fields. But I think a more appropriate deal would involve using our own Zeronian plants to process your aluminum. We could be contracted for cheap.

All shipments will be made out to the port city of Zephyr, at the main port, pier 30. We'll have our people call your people about the details. Thank you for doing business with Zeronia!

Here in Trinis, we have a popular department store called 'Layes', that sells quite a few Trinisian-made goods.(clothes, cosmetics, furniture, etc.) I would like to set up three Layes branches, one in your capital, and two in your two largest cities.(If the capital city is largest, second and third largest cities would be used.) 30% of the store's profits would go to your nation. I feel this is a fair percentage, as these stores would provide jobs, and I think they could make quite a profit, as they sell foreign-crafted goods.(These products are of the highest quailty available to our small nation.) Should you accept this proposal and it mutually beneifits our nations, we could discuss opening more stores. Thank you for your time.

Fauquier

The Republic of Fauquier would be glad to open trade with you. We have very strong manafacturing infrastructure, and some deposits of coal and iron ore. If you wish for more information, send us a telegramn.

OOC: You're lucky. When I tried this, I didn't get one response. Then again, there were two wars happening at the same time.

We wouldl ike to open a trade treaty with you ...
Zeronia
02-01-2004, 04:36
Trinis - Layes is pending approval. We will contact you in a few weeks.

Fauquier - We also have a very strong manafacturing infrastructure, and hence, on the face of it, do not think it would be in our best interests to trade in that sector. However, we are always open to a deal that can benefit both nations without harming Zeronia's industrial competitiveness at home.

The Fedral Union - We would appreciate more detailed information about this said treaty, and benefits for both partners.
