Trouble in the Corporate Realm!

Several Galmorran Corporations have been making major movements toward trust-forming. New Conglomorates are forming faster then at any time in Galmorran history. Republican and Aristocrat alike are fighting in the National Congress against members of the newly-formed Estates Party, led by Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik. President Phillip O'Collins has moved to mediate the problems between the two national factions, but fears are rising about possible civil strife.

Congress under Fire!

During the monthly session of the Galmorran National Congress, a single gunman attacked the assembled Legislature, wounding dozens and killing six Congressmen. Congressional security subdued the assasain, but not before several members of the Galmorran Aristocratic Party were killed or wounded.

Archduke Ryan Paryunu, head of the GAP and leader of Galmorra's fledgling noble class, called the incident disgraceful and calls for the assassin (a man by the name of Terrance Ramblin) to be brought to justice. Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik, leader of the Estates Party, was not available for comment. Marik had been spirited out of the capital just after the attacks on the Congress.

In Galmorra's countryside, private troops loyal to both the Aristocrats and Merchants' Guild have taken to the field, although Republic troops have managed to keep all violence to a minimum.

Where is Everyone?

Large numbers of Aristocrat and Estates Party troops have disappeared, causing many in the Republican Armed Forces to sense an unnerving calm. With Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik still missing, Archduke Ryan Paryunu has announced that he will be retiring to his Winter Estate to discuss matters with his Party's elite.

President O'Collins is ordering all Republic troops to impose an immediate curfew of 7:30pm, to the displeasure of most Galmorran citizens.

As of the printing of this article, there have been several hours of tense calm. There are unsubstantiated reports of armored vehicles spotted in Galmorra City's southern district.

Violence in the Capital!
===============

The New Years festivities were shattered when an explosion erupted in Galmorra City's Uther Square, where the nation's New Years celebration is held. Hundreds were killed and thousands more have been hospitalized by this terrorist attack. Vice President Samantha Winters is also in critical condition at St.Cyr Hospital, she is not expected to survive.

Following a martial law decree from President O'Collins, the Galmorran Republican Army has occupied the capital city and several major cities are coming under curfew. However, Archduke Ryan Paryunu has declared that the noble class of Galmorra has voted no confidence for the President administration, bringing many border provinces to his side.

Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik remains hidden, along with many members of his Estates Party. Troops loyal to Marik and the Estates Party have been seen throughout Galmorra and seem to be testing the waters for their own power.

Battle of Usher's Well - Aristocrat Victory!

In a lightning morning attack, Aristocrat troops under Baron Thanos routed a combined Division of Estates troops near the major port of Usher's Well. Striking from sea, 7000 Aristocrat troops surprised the Estates defenders. With Usher's Well under Paryunu's rule, the whole north coast of Galmorra is threatened with land-based blockade.

In other news, President O'Collins has left Galmorra City under Aristocrat guard. He has been moved to an undisclosed location.
