SR Weapons Development - New Landwarrior like system

The Theta projcet has been in development by SR for quite some time, developed way back when SR and Bristle were having their second conflict. SR was preparing a new weapon for their elite military, which consisted of a small heartbeat sensor attached to a new rifle which had a heads up display on a modified scope with information. This has now become much more advanced.

The Theta Project evolved, and now resembles the Land Warrior System, but with a few modifications.

Firstly, there is no helmet attachment, instead the HUD is contained in the scope of your weapon (currently attachable to M4A1, Steyr AUG (with modification) and in some cases AK-47 and 74s (in the case of the 47, heavy modification required)). A heartbeat sensor is attached, and the results fed into the scope, which then shows the location of all detected heartbeats. A new addition though, is a sensor given to friendly soldiers, which can be hidden (or in some cases, surgically implanted, though we do not recomend this) which allows them to be identified on the HUD as a friendly (the heartbeat monitor is modified to pick up this signal also), and the target is marked as green. Remaining rounds are also listed on the HUD, and the HUD can be configured to display a map. Controls in the form of scroll wheels are used to manipulate onscreen displays. The computer unit is contained in the soldier's backpack, and uses 802.11b wireless communications to transmit information between soldiers and the server, at your basecamp. The computer is a modified PocketPC, 400Mhz Intel XSCALE processor, with a modified operating system called SolOS. The unit is larger than a normal PocketPC, but still much smaller than a standard Landwarriror system. Communication between the HUD and the computer is done through bluetooth, each gun can be configured to recognise only certain guns.

SR will begin selling this project soon, but it is not perfect (still some software related bugs to be fixed). Keep watching this space.

EDIT: The scope is not a normal sized scope, it is a fair bit larger, and now a rectangular prisim. It still functions as a normal scope as well, with zooming, etc.

PROJECT NOW SELLING. UPDATES:

The problem with the sensor has been solved. Sensors are set to be displayed at the server, sitting in your Forward Command Base. If a commander thinks that a enemy unit has managed to obtain a sensor, it can be shut off and will not be displayed on the HUD. By default, no sensors are displayed, for security reasonsThe sensor will automatically shut off if it does not detect a heartbeat, notify the server, and then burn the small board by using all battery power, rendering the sensor useless. The weapon will recieve the information, and turn off the scope function, and also burn the electronic boards, rendering the HUD inoperable. The PocketPC then removes all important data, like communication logs, and then emits a becon for 1 hour, before shutting off entirely. A wounded soldier can also destroy the unit himself using a small, narrow instumnent (like a paperclip) to push a small button (like a RESET button on a PDA).

These new measures make it next to impossible for an enemy unit to capture a sensor and use it against the user. It would also be difficult for the enemy to replicate the technology after a soldier has been killed .

So, the prices. Firstly, we only sell packages, not individual components. SR reserves the right to refuse to sell to some nations, for whatever reason. Enemies of SR Control or Bristle will not be permitted to buy the packages. Allies recieve a 10% discount. Members of SR Control and Bristle can contact SR for different arrangements (special conditions apply for further discounts).

Any upgrades are FREE. If SR upgrades the project, upgraded units will be sent to your nation without any charge. All freight paid for by SR.

OOC: For the prices, I'm not really sure what to put them at, I don't think its worth 1 billion for the best package, max would be 25 mil.

A new addition though, is a sensor given to friendly soldiers, which can be hidden and what if an enemy soldier found this tech?, how would there be security against it falling into enemy hands and it then turning around to "bit you in the arse" so to speak?

Then you can surgically implant the sensor, or hide it somewhere. That's a major reason it isn't released yet. A new idea is to have it attached to the heartbeat of the soldier, and when that soldier is killed the sensor will de-activate automatically and become inoperable. As for wounded soldiers in danger of capture, they can destroy the sensor.

EDIT: Before a mission, sensors are configured for all soldiers in the battlefield, and extra sensors cannot be detected without the host system (at base camp) adding them. Each signal has a unique identifier, and if multiple signals are detected, both are shut down.
