[OOC- Not many probably know who I am. I have been busy with school and playing D&D on weekends. I've thought about this long and hard, and decided to return to controlling my nation.]
Three years ago, Tezen Nightshade was a force to be reckoned with. He controlled Indigalia with a fist. Democracy was a loosely held-onto dream of the minority who saught it. But it remained out of reach.
Then one day,his grip began to fade. Rumors of assassination spread rampantly, but the truth was withheld; he had radiation poisoning. This was caused by a tour of one of the Nuclear ICBM Launch Facilities, specifically a defective warhead they never knew how to deal with. Soon,he succumbed and passed on,leaving his country...his Indigalia...to an age of chaos.
Nightshade's generals and his cabinet fought over who should rule the country now. Soon each of the eight generals had split and broken his troops up,warlord style. This is when the body count began to rise.
The cabinet was held hostage by one Warlord/General, Giorgio Zott, and they were forced to proclaim him emperor. The people were confused...
[OOC- A cookie for anyone who tells me where I got the name for the General above :D]
The former ICFDC (Indigalia Citizens For Democratic Change) fell in line with one of the more...lets just say 'sane' and 'level-headed' Generals...and proceeded with a plan that could change the course of the nation.
Spies of General Zott, within the ICFDC,leaked this plan to their leader; A plan to retake the cabinet and secure the palace and the surrounding area. He launched a force to reclaim one of the three ICBM facilities not in complete chaos, and threatened to nuke the entire nation of INdigalia with the last N-ICBM in storage.
At this time, the former conquered territories of Fangorn Forest Borders and Special Operations were free from the rule of Nightshade's regime, and their own governments fell into short-lived chaos, before strong-willed leaders lead them out of the dark.
Two weeks into the Zott Nuclear Standoff, the ICFDC snuck in a covert team made up of two well-trained operatives and others of many different levels of expertice. Most died on the way inside, but two operatives (One of the previously mentioned well-trained persons, and a rookie of some courage) managed to get within the control room and sabotage the launch computers. However,as they soon realized, Giorgio Zott saw them coming...and prepared the ICBM for launch.
The agents sacrificed themselves during the final stretch of the operation, where they fought with Zott himself, and sealed both the silo hatch opening and their only way out. A national holiday now marks the day of immense sacrifice.
ICFDC forces proceeded with their plan, facing heavy resistance the following day. But soon they controlled the Palace and the communication centers beneath it. Two Generals saw the error of their ways and abandoned their posts, and their troops defected to what the ICFDC became...
Indigalia's first democratic government.

Present Day Indigalia City, 1200 hours
Monty Arimor looked over the surrounding residential area around the palace, still being rebuilt. He was the 'President' of the temporary government formed from the ICFDC. However,he was overwhelmed, unsure of the democracy he had planned was the right way.
"Sir,the old satellite communications station in the southern region is back online.",said a aide who burst into his office. Arimor turned from his window and stared at the aide, and spoke "The same one used to establish our first otherworldly contact...yes...I know which one you speak of."
And he smiled. "And I know just how to put it to use...re-establishing contact with the other nations out there...so we can get some help in the rebuilding process"
[OOC- Thats where any interested folks come in,state your motives, and diplomatic interaction will ensue. Just how is up to you.]
