John Harold: Dear every nation on the planet I would like to announce that the Peoples Republic of Rotara is developing a weapon that will be for sale soon.

The weapon will be unique and on the battlefield it will dominate everything.

The weapon is a device called a sound Cannon. Oxygean and Methane are pumped into a combustion chamber where they combust the result is a high intensity shock wave. The shock wave then detonates the next load of Oxygean and Methane this is a continuous explosion.

The noise generated is intense and can go up to 1000 milibars. Anyone within reasonable range of the sound waves will die.

The sound waves are let off in a certain direction. And this is not the sort of weapon you stand right next to. It would be controlled from a separate location.

In other news, Skullzz has been developing its revolutionary STFU shield. The prototype has been mounted on the SS Ignore, which is moving into Rotara's waters as we speak.

And the sound waves wouldnt hit you. But would they still have an effect even if they didnt touch you?.

Sounds like it still needs a few more years of research.....plus all you gotta do is send in deaf soldiers to destroy the cannon wouldnt you?

A powerful enough sonics weapon would exert concussive force, because the air molecules are moving fast enough. It's the same principle as when the bass on someone's stereo system is pumped way up, and you can feel it in the floor. Multiply it a great deal of times, and you have a (very primitive) sonics weapon.

(My country actually comes up with ways for the blind and deaf to serve in the military so i could have deaf pilots) Oh and what is the range of it exactly?

Sound waves are what you hear. So no, if you do not come in contact with a sound wave, you will not hear nor be affected by it.

Sonic weapons... sounds interesting. The vibration would probably be enough to cause small earthquakes, though. At the very least, the sound waves would cause all nearby snakes to panic, maybe using them as weapons. Perfect for use in Australia, then.

because sound waves bounce off stuff. just accept it, the only way you can hear stuff is if the sound wave hits you.

And if the sound could actually destroy things how do we allow the sound to leave the Cannon?.

Yes as I was saying if the sound can destroy things how does it leaves the Sound Cannon?. Because the sound is generated from an internal combustion chamber and if the sound is so loud wouldnt it destroy it?.

why don't you just like make a sound bomb, then who cares what happens to the casing?

That is a very good idea you know. However it wont be a beam. Any other ideas? would it even be affected by the sound waves inside it?.

what do you mean, the shell casing? of course!

But you wouldnt be able to increase the Yield at all. As soon as the sound reaches a certain point it breaks the shell apart so the sound cant get any louder.

so u make it very loud.

But the thing would need to be very big the ordinary one is about the size of a tank or something.(I might be wrong)

Anyway I am schedualing it for arms use and you will receive a copy of the blueprints for thinking of the bomb idea.

No it couldnt work because as soon as it gets loud enough it would collapse. So therefor if you wanted to increase the yield you could make it bigger but as soon as it gets to a certain point it collapses.

there are sound cannons being put to use now rotara :P police forces uses them in certain places of the US and there are labs that are testing sound cannons (they turn it on and a wall goes boom* :P

It isn't methane and oxygen I don't believe that causes the effect, very large magnetic speakers basiclaly would be my guess, resonating magnets do cause a loud noise..

Well the one I mean is the German Sound cannon.

of course the casing would be destroyed in the bomb version! thats why it is called a bomb! and once the casing is destroyed, the soud is released and kills massive amounts of people!
