Today the Supreme Imperial Court found the former Imperial chief of state, Heishigiro Daishi, and the higher levels of his recently deposed government were found guilty of the gross-mismanagement that almost destroyed the nations once thriving economy.
Emperor Iemitsu Matsamuru declared that the death penalty was too good for the traitors and sentenced them to fifty years in exile. However all of the sentenced could not bare the shame and each one of them comitted ritual suicide before the punishment could be effected, just a few hours after the sentence was given.
In other news, in spite of apparent recent setbacks, project Phantom was reported to have entered field testing and a statement from Atsutane Matsamuru, commander of the Empire's armed forces, confirmed that the project was military in nature. This comes shortly after SAM almost lost a research station to a large explosion, which was suspected to be connected to Project Phantom and has only served to further speculation about the true nature and scale of the scheme.
Also, as advanced AI projects are completed by Imperial contractors, the government has passed legislation giving these 'Androids' equal rights to those of humans. This may only further incite tensions within the nation, as Neo-Facist groups are becoming increasingly vocal...
