Aboard the RN carrier Dauntless somewhere in international waters near Hanchinsu...
Captain Hubert VII stood before the assembled crew of the Dauntless. All crew members were wearing their dress uniforms and two flag drapped cofins were before the dias on the carrier's flight deck.
We are gathered here today to pay tribute to the heroism of our two comrades laid before us. In their attention to duty, they made the ultimate sacrifice and we honor their deeds today.
The Republic has made a pact with its aviators that if they are ever shot down behind enemy lines, we will spare no effort to bring them home. These two heroes lost their lives in the hills of Hanchinsu honoring this pact. The fact that they willingly put themselves in harm's way to rescue a downed airman speaks highly to their dedication to duty.
RN Aviator Eco IX and Sgt Venui III both gave their lives to rescue a downed CorpSac airman in the hills of Hanchinsu. They did their duty without hesitation in the best traditions of the Republic.
I am pleased to award both our lost comrades with the Star of the Republic medal for their honorable service to the Republic. They are gone, but their actions will never be forgotten.
The captain and ship's company salute their fallen comrades as their coffins are loaded by a guard of honor onto a transport plane for the flight back to the Republic of Ozymandias IV. The honor guard will fly home with the coffins and stay with the bodies until their burial in the national cemetery.
As the plane lifts off the flight deck, a missing man formation flys overhead and the company disperses back to their duty stations.
