Construction began today on the first Juggernaut aerial carrier, one of Germany's so-called "super weapons". The zeppelin-type aircraft carrier was pushed into production without the benefit of a full-sized prototype, although several smaller examples were shown to be functional. Little is known about the final design settled on by the Armaments Board; no one at the Joint Aeronautical Center in Berlin would comment on the project, other than to say that the design was "very exciting". Air Marshall Goering hailed the project as a "masterpiece of German ingenuity", and promised that Juggernaut will revolutionize the use of air power.
Production of the first carrier is scheduled for roughly 8 months, followed by 4 more months of fitting out and trials. Allied intelligence sources believe this may not be entirely accurate: development of the BMW 277 powerplant for the project is judged to be 5 months behind schedule.
