Today the IAE announced they had made a great leap forward, with regards to project Phantom, boasting that over the course of the last few months they have made significant advances in superconductivity and inertia reducing devices and that these developments, in conjunction with research being conducted by SAM, would accelerate the completion of 'Phantom' by several months.

...Today Soryuju station, the chief R&D installation of the company SAM, was rocked by explosions, an entire section being completely obliterated. For six hours the entire station was without artificial gravity, leaving over four hundred scientists in the cold and dark, floating around their laboratories. Oficially, there have been no confirmed deaths and at present other details are few, however the chief of research on the base gave a statement.

"It is a tragic accident that should never have happened and we will be thoroughly reviewing our safety procedures." That was all he had to say on the matter, although he is reported to have muttered "At least we know it works." As he left the press conference.

This incident comes less than a week after IAE reported significant advances in Project Phantom. This incident has only served to increase speculation about this project.

In other news today the 3rd attack wing completed it's refit and all 72 fighters stationed at the Yukawa shipyard are now once more combat ready, sporting the brand new Sun Slayer torpedo system. Also.....
