Off On Crusade (RP is Currently open, this will change!)
READ EVERYTHING BEFORE RESPONDING/LEAVING THE THREAD LAUGHING
OOC: Firstly this is semi private so if you want to join I ask that you TG me: as I am in overall control of the RP which was be pre-decided by all present. Also, if you wish to participate you must state whose side it is you will be joining and should list some things about your nations… I won’t tolerate someone who is completely against everything that is going on/is going to happen. Again, please TG me as I will not respond to any other forms of communication! Further if you are going to declare war on someone for what happens in this RP and have not cleared this with them/have been rejected from entering this RP/have not requested to join the RP you will be ignored. Seriously, if you want to declare war because of something that happens and you do not have permission then we see no need to interact with you as it would likely be counter-productive to us.
IC: Deep within the mountains, machines of war slowly rose with motors humming after years unused. Powered regiments stalked through the great cavernous halls while Black Priests gave speeches over the comms. Unarmored men ran about replacing lost items from their kits while Cyborg-Soldiers of the Darkness Legion waited in their Halls. Within days a rumor had spread on an international level that a “Black Crusade” would begin soon and that all elves should do as little to call attention to themselves as possible. Meanwhile inside the mountain fortresses the world did not exist as training intensified a hundred-fold and weapons though to be too costly or too new were suddenly handed to the “average” grunts.
Broadcast to all nations: Haruat Kreegsbrock stood in-front of the camera; he was not wearing a military uniform but instead wore a simple but very finely made suit of black and silver silk. Upon receiving a signal from off camera he spoke, a smile contorting his hawkish features, “I come before you today to re-assure you. Rumors have stated that Padmasa is readying itself for an all out war, a ‘Black Crusade’ as it were. The entire idea is ludicrous… Surely if we were preparing to strike out there would be increased fleet movements, increased activity at our arms factories, increased troop movements, and for that matter, increased activity at our military bases. None of this is happening so surely Padmasa is not reading for anything, not military exercises, not an all out war, or even a small one for that matter. I hope this allays your fears, and I will personally take any questions that a foreign nation has if they would be so kind as to send them.”
The broadcast ended and Kreegsbrock stepped off grinning, as the cameras were shut off and all mics were turned off. He looked to Xok and whispered, “Think they bought it?”
Xok, who was in full armor it should be noted, simply nodded.
OOC: Okay I lied a-little. Anyone can respond to this opening part of the RP but after a point no one who has not received permission can post ICly in any significant way. We will announce when that point has been crossed. And as we are going for the element of surprise here, none of us who are the central players of this RP will be made known until later. Finally, and this is really only for N00Bs, there is NO way you can find out about the mountain fortresses and what is going on in them, they are secret, I just posted about them so you could have some fun reading it :).
OOC: What, no replies? Did I do something wrong?
EDIT: Anyone who wants to have a character in the armed forces of either side, may do so. Should you further wish to have your own forces, do things for yourself independantly, or some combination feel free to contact us for we could easily set it up and work it into the story-line.
Adornian citizens went about their normal business, blissfully unaware of the pending Black Crusade.

OOC: Albeit, interesting... I think I might sign up... are you permitting modern nations? The tech level seems obscure: I mean, cameras for modern nations, cyborgs are futuristic, and elves seem pretty medieval-ish...

*The FNS Royalé parted the waves with it's wide berth as it moved through the waters just outside of the Padmasan waters (or waters near his homeland, as I believe he is landlocked). The ship was a large dull orange freighter carrying a cargo of several different types of fish for import to the Federal Republic. But deep within the ship, instead of large crates of fish sat a large open room, stocked to the brim with displays, dials, buttons, and switches. Plainclothes men were sitting in front of these devices, manipulating them too monitor anything in the area. The volume of transmissions coming from Padmasa was astounding, and the crew was working 24 hours a day to keep up with it. The Navy had dispatched two more intelligence freighters to the area as well to deal with the sheer amount of information, and the Royalé was scheduled to return to Corregidor as soon as the relief freighters arrived.*
*The Republic had a good standing with Padmasa, however with planning underway for a large operation across the Sea of Azar, the Republic had to keep a close eye on all nations that might have shipping going to or from the Republic, of which Padmasa was one. Becuase of this, no warships were dispatched from the nearby Port Royal Naval Base, and no extra amount of ground intelligence agents were assigned, but still, a close eye was being kept.....*

Okay here is the best explaination I can give:
-Cameras were used so the message could reach everyone, we don't want to use holo-projectors as not all nations can get the message.
-Cyborgs are a new additon to the Padamsan army but overall we are in fact far future-tech though we will not be making extensive use of such tech as we want anyone who wants to be able to join in.
-Elves are a race of beings such as illithids, orcs, humans, cat-people, ect.

OOC: The fact that all transmitions to and from the mountians are via tight-beam laser and that the mountians themselves are under complete radio silence in all but the most sever emergancies helps don't it? Have fun trying to find out who I'm targeting...

Dictator and General D'Armand Shacklar laid back with his feet up on his desk, smoking a cigarette and sipping down some cheap vodka. He leaned back and closed his eyes, thinking of his wife who had been dead now for years. God, how he missed her. A tear rolled down his cheek, and he eventually began to cry.
A knock on the door, and the General jumped out of fear. If someone saw him in his state, he would be the laughing stock of the Board of Directors. He quickly wiped his tears and mustered up a solid voice. "Come in."
The door opened and in stepped the Director of Intelligence in full adornment: General Franklin Whitaker.
"Whitaker! I thought you were out directing the intelligence influx from Midlonia! What in the blazes are you doing here?"
"It's the DoI's duty to be everywhere at one time, General, and respond to what is in your best interest," said Whitaker slyly. "Besides, the Midlonian conflict has ceased. He's agreed to stop marketing weapons grade uranium out to other nations; that leaves the market open to us. Anyways, I have a bit of news that might interest you."
"Oh? Care to inform me?"
The DoI tossed three seperate dossiers on the table and began to speak. "Earlier today, one of our satellites tracked several intelligence ships departing from The Sword and Shield. What we couldn't figure out is why The Sword and Shield would be sending out intelligence ships at this very moment. They are in a state of peace, and it appears that no one is in conflict with them, Padmasa especially. So naturally, out of suspicion, we tracked the ships. They stopped outside of Padmasa's waters. Ever since, we've tracked high levels of electronic activity in the area; there are also numerous faded radio signals floating about. There aren't enough scraps to make sense of, but nevertheless, they are there, and are coming from within Padmasa's mountain ranges."
"And what does this concern me for, Whitaker?"
"Well, sir, don't you think it a bit odd that there are intelligence ships outside of Padmasa from a nation that is presently neutral with them, and high levels of radio activity from Padmasa's mountains? And to top it off, we have The Sword and Shield purposely checking for something. It seems a bit queer."
"Monitor the situation further, Whitaker. That will be all. If anything important arises, alert me."
"Yessir." Whitaker saluted, turned, and left the room, closing the door behind him. Shacklar took a deep inhale on his cigarette and sipped a bit more vodka before slapping his hands down on his desk in exasperation.

Lord Kentaka watched the broadcast in his office, with his closest intelligence and military advisors.
"My lord, we can't keep this hidden for much longer. Our forces are almost in place, and we can't really hide the logistics of this. Granted, we have sea, land, and air and space transports, but somebody's gotta notice."
"Hopefully when they do notice, it will be too late," Kentaka replied. "When can we expect the troops to be ready?"
"Soon, my lord. In line with Padmasa's forces."
The forces Kentaka spoke about were the newest in Crimson Sparta's line of armed forces. An army comprised of droids and clones, armed with laser pulse weapons, was being trained and constructed in large subterranean bases throughout the country.
They would replace the mainly human-based infantry system of the Crimson Sparta from days of old. Humans would still hold most of the officer ranks (and higher enlisted ranks), but the droids and clones were programmed to follow the orders of their commanding officers. They would do the grunt work and be the first deployed to the battlefields. Only in extreme emergencies would regular citizens be drafted in large numbers for the army again.
They trained and programmed, day and night, and sharpened their skills, waiting for the orders to come from above.
Crimson Sparta: A messanger ran into Lord Kentaka's sitting room he was sopping wet and his boots were wreaking havoc on the finely polished floor but he did not notice nor did Lord Kentaka as soon as he saw the uniform. The Messanger wore a Padmasan Black leather uniform and a cloak.
"My lord," he said sketching a bow, "I come to bring you a personal message that must not leave this room." The man held out a wrinkled piece of paper which Lord Kentaka took. He opened it immediatly and scanned it, reading it several times, before throwing it into the fire.
"Thank you. You may leave now, I shall send no reply."
Lord Kentaka, we are glad to have your aid in the matter. However we are affraid that your troop movements are too noticable and will alert our enemies. Therefore we suggest that allow several Padmasan Spec ops forces into your lands to make it look like there are various uprisings and even add some of your own men to these forces. No one will question your moving troops if it appears they are movign to put down a rebellion. They are already in place all you have to do is flick the lights on and off in your sitting room twice. We will pay for any damage caused.
The Sword and Sheild: (Leaving aside the radio silence and the fact that I am 2 nations distance from the sea... Oh well, I'll choose to interact with your little attempts at spying.)
The three illithids stood looking down at the tactical readout watching the movements of several freighters who's intentions were considered questionable... they were from an "ally" but that meant nothing. Especially with the war about to happen.
"We must destroy these vessels."
"I am in agreement, Darkening Rampart. We do not know their purpose but it cannot be benevolent."
"Then we are all in agreement. A spec ops team shall be sent using under-water gear and explosives."
"That is a good plan. We shall have one of our "passenger" aircraft do a check to see that all are taken down. It is a possibility that one will escape so we must have this craft be completely unmarked and load it with guided missles and torpedos bearing the mark of CP."
"Yes, further we will wipe the minds of our spec ops teams, we may give them their memories back when they return. But until they return they must think they are part of the CP armed forces."
"That takes care of everything. Let us go catch a bite. I hear there is a new set of prisoners heading for death row to-day."

In the outer reaches of the solar system 13 blips are detected heading towards the still distant planet.
On board the largest of the ships Avatar Nathlorkn sits comunicating with the hive.
comms from Avatar @ Hive patriach:
We are arriving at our destination. Upon arrival our vessel shall land and meet with their representitives as planned. The node will await our command in orbit guarded by 9 of our royal guard. We will arrive with the remaning 2 as protection.
We are the hive we are perfection.
HIVE PATRIACH @ Avatar:
We are pleased with the progress made. They will be expecting us. Do not let the broods get out of control control is not absolute until our representitives arrive.
Ensure that nothing happens to the node there will not be time to dispatch more.
We are the Hive We are perfection.
The 13 ships speed towards their target.
*The lead vessel contaning Avatar Nathlorkn leads the pack of 13 ships. Its appearence much like that of a squid its tendrils drifting out behind it propelling it through space its silky skein shimmering and pulsing.
Behind this lead ship floats a node. Looking like nothing more that a small ball of meaty flesh with tendrils.
the remaning 11 ships are royal guard. Their long sleek beetle structure coated in a hard black chitchenous armour with maws towards the front of the ship glowing with a orange haze of weak plasma leaving a small trail of energy that dissipates as the ships move through space.*
Comms from Avatar @ Haruat Kreegsbrock:
We have arrived as arranged. We are to assume our deal is still intact.
We shall meet you at designated co-ordinates if this is to change please specify.
We welcome you to us we are the hive we are perfection.

Kentaka nodded at the message, as if the Padmasan messenger had never left the room. There was an old bond between Crimson Sparta and Padmasa, and perhaps the high ministers of the country had a telekenetic link with the Spartan leader.
"Remember that old opposition political party? The one whose members we executed or imprisoned?" Kentaka asked of his most trustworthy aides.
They all nodded and grinned, remembering the joy of victory.
"Well, make up a story about how some of them broke out of prison and are planning terrorist activities in the country. Tell our citizens to be alert and aware, and to stay safe. It will be a good way to move our troops around without a fuss, and we'll get good press for 'recapturing' the men and executing them.
"The story will go to the papers tomorrow and that will be the beginning. Ready the troops. And get somebody to clean up that floor."
After the story hit the papers, Kentaka waited a day for the information to spread throughout the country. The next night, he flicked the lights on and off in his sitting room.
Those Padmasans are good. They're sitting outside of my room, watching for my signal. They got through the border ID chip scans and they are working in my country now. Maybe it's time to go back to the "shoot everybody that enters the country" immigration policy.
The Sword and Sheild

*In Philadelphia, while the populace of the mainland slept, analysts, soldiers, and politicians scurried about. An entire sector of intelligence monitoring had went dark, the freighters covering the area had suddenly stopped reporting. However since the mission of these freighters, routine monitoring, was not given to any nations outside the Republic, no warships could be dispatched quickly to investigate. The specific area was quite a vulnerable spot for the Navy, the heavy Federal freighter traffic in the area made it a ripe target for maurading surface and submarine raiders of the Nationalist Canadian Navy, of which several large forces had recently gone missing as well.
The reason behind the mission was specifically to avoid Federal forces from firing on nuetral forces that may be moving in the area, however now the entire Operation Coronet had to be postponed, the heavy threat to merchant traffic of both the Federal Republic, and the nations they traded with in the area, was too great for the Federal Navy to deal with now that it's intelligence assets had been lost. (The majority of the Navy is elsewhere, only the Port Royal Naval Force is available to patrol these lanes).
What had happened to these freighters had to be ascertained quickly, if security was to be felt for the merchant ships in the area, on which hinged whether or not Operation Coronet would go forward, or be postponed to avoid winter problems. To this end, the Senate authorized the diplomatic corps to reveal the exact specifics of these freighters mission to the Padmasan government, and to inform them a warship, the FNS Karl A. Gunthro an Arleigh burke class Destroyer, would be entering the area to investigate the disappearence. (It's in your T-gram box)*
Sword and Sheild: We thank our allies for this information, and we will gladly inform our own allies to allow your ship entry into the waters near where your ships were lost. A Padmasan team will be dispatched to begin clean-up and will hopefully be able to help you discover who commited these crimes.
Somewhere out in the ocean: Two Illithids stood on the deck of the Padmasan Salvage ship, Xenocide, watching as crews scrambled about the deck and in the waters taking every bit of evidence that could be found. There were 3 other ships nearby and all were hard at work, their crews no able to stop working for fear of death or worse. The waters were sifted clean every fragment that could be found was hauled aboard and the drifted through the waves. The spec-ops men were already dead, their brains having been eaten shortly after de-briefing.
This scene was repeated four times as Padmasa hastily took everything that could be found and brought it back to the vaults below Padmasa(the city) The salvagers, excluding the illithids were killed and the ships were cut apart and their pieces were also sent to the vaults.
Within 1 night everything that could be taken was and those few fragments that could not be taken were sent to the bottom.

**Newsflash**
"Good evening. This is Tracy Porter reporting from downtown Sparta City, where a terrorist bomb just went off in a crowded restaurant. The government has released a report stating that an unspecified number of anti-government rebels has escaped from prision. It is believed that their members are regrouping their terrorist cells and making these attacks on our own people.
"Lord Kentaka has commented that he will not succumb to these fiends, and that military forces will be dispatched to quell this uprising. It is also suspected that some of the rebels have fled the country, prompting the increased number of border patrols and ships leaving the harbor.
"We will update you on the matter as the situation unfolds. This is Tracy Porter reporting."
**We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming**
OOC: Alright everyone. I'm sorry to report that this RP is now on hold until... I honestly don't know when. One of the key players is MIA and as the story and everything else hinges on him I have decided to simply put it on hold. I will TG everyone involved when he returns and this RP can take place. If you no longer want to be involved please post that such is your desire.
