OOC:I’m getting pissed off at these one day old noobs that think they have nukes! So I’m making this but the probably just ignore it because there to lazy. But there also people who want to become good role-players but don't know anything about this game so now they can come here to find out.
IC:
There are many confusing things out there for new people for this game. Like "How do I tell how much money I have?" or "How do I wire Money?" and whole bunch of questions. So here are the answers, Lets start with money.
Money
There are multiple ways to find how much money your country has. You can ether go to a web site or do it your self. Personally I don't have time to do it my self plus I don't remember the formula for doing it so I use the web site.
http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=Nano%20soft&defenseprovided=1&defense=15&militarybudget=15
For you to go there you just change one thing. Where it says "nation=Nano%20soft&..." you want to replace the part that says "Nano%20soft" with your countries name(you don't need to put in the "20% if you have a space in your name, it is just something the web site does), after you are done with that you should know how to click "enter" or the button "Go". Then it come up with something like this:
Nano soft Gross Domestic Product
Population: 889,000,000
Civil Rights: Good
Economy: Thriving
GDP per Capita: $20,000
GDP: $17,780,000,000,000
National Budget: $5,991,788,880,000
Percentage of GDP Spent on Defense: 5.05%
Percentage of Budget Spent on Defense: 15%
Military Budget: $898,768,332,000
Enough for:
28,899 F-15Es, or...
44,938 Su-34s, or...
47,806 F-16s, or...
81,706 MiG 29s, or...
209,015 M1A2 Abrams, or...
299,589 T-90s, or...
1,533,734,354 M-16s, or...
2,995,894,440 AK47s
But it will have your name at the top instead of mine, also your own numbers. You should just kind of ignore the "Enough for:" part because people have different prices here then the real world.
Buying/wiring:
There are many stores on Nation States that you can buy Military units. You always want to make sure you get a good deal on something, like you don't want to by a Nimitz aircraft carrier for four billion when you can get for 1.2 or 1.4(cant remember exactly) billion dollars. As I was saying there are many stores out there and many Corporations just waiting to get there hands on your money. So you don't want to fall spell to them, you want to look for the best deal of a product you want then when you think you found it then take it. After you found it you want to make an order, something like this
The Free Corporation of Nano Soft wises to order these units,
12 x M1A1's four million = 48 million
Money will be wired on confirmation of order
Yeah it should look something like that.
But you always want to make sure that your purchase is never over your military budget.
Military budget:
Many people just see there big military budget and think they can use it all on a speeding spree. Well they are wrong, only a tiny fraction of it you can use to buy stuff. That’s because you have to use the money for other things like feeding your troops, maintaining your tanks and aircraft, and Ext...
The money isn't for your leader to use it all at once, you need it for others thing because if you did use it all at once then your military would collapse and you would be highly venerable to an attack. So only use a small fraction of your military budget.
Military
Nuclear weapons:
Many noobs just come out when there one day old and say there declaring war with ever one and that they will nuke them. For a nuclear weapon you should have a population of 75-150 million, if you don't want to be called a godmoder then you should wait until population of 150 million to post a R&D(explain later) thread. See you have to wait because you cant just appear with nukes, you have to research them.
Military %%:
Many people do not know what is a good percentage to have in there military. For one I saw this nation sending five million troops to support a country, and the country was allot smaller than me. IN times of peace you should use a low percentage, in times of peace I use 0.5% or sometimes lower, in times of war I use 1% and if dire need sometimes above but I had never had to. But you shouldn't go really above even 6-7%. Well that what I think, there not that many countries with a 6-7% military in the RL world.
OOC:Im forget a little but I think North Korea has a high percentage if I am not mistaken?
IC:
Researching:
When you research something you should get into the habit of making a "R&D" thread, That stand for Research and Development thread. If you make one of these then most likely no one should be able to call you a godmoder. Also it will allow older nations to give you some pointers on it so you can improve it so its less like godmoding.
Time scale
I use 2 days = one nation states year, some people use one day = one year and others 24 days = one year. But I think the best is two days = one year that is because you have over a million people who come into your country, so it doesn't make sense to have one real life day = on nation states year because a million or so people are not going to come into your nation in one month of a half.
Some Rp pointers
Say when you are having a war, you don't want to godmod do you? So here are some basic steps for a war.
If you are declaring war:
1. Declare war
2. Wait for a post from your enemy
3.say when they leave
4.post when your units leave
5.wait for a post from your enemy
6.Post the start of your attack
7.wait for the enemies defense post
8.Keep on attacking
9.wait for defense post
And so one like this. You also have to keep in mind that when you are attacking some one you are not right next to them. So you have to supply your troops from home so you should bring supplies when you go. But also keep in mind the defender always has the upper hand, he knows his nation inside and out, he has supplies on the spot, he knows where to go and hide and when to attack causing an ambush.
Definitions:
Noob: Bad role player, godmoder, idiot, moron, ext...
Newbie: New player
Flamming: Insualting or spaming another player of nation States.
Ignore cannon(or what ever you call it): Used by player to declare that they are ignoring a certain player for certain reasons.
(I believe those are pretty acurate)
