This is to inform the nation of Vlandostan and all others whom it may concern, that a state of war now exists between Meramoso and Vlandostan. Recent events have forced us to take these drastic measures to ensure the safety and dignity of the Meramosian people.
A telegram was sent to Vlandostan explaining our feelings about the issues, and we have not received an answer. To give the exact reasons why we are going to war, here is the telegram which was sent to Vlandostan:


Dear Vlandostan,
I am sending you this message to demand from you and your allies (from the previous war between us) a public apology concerning the disgusting and wholly unnecessary destruction of the historic city of 60,000; Mara Bella. The tragic events unfolded when a state of war was threatened between our two nations, and either you or one of your allies' forces invaded before the declaration was even carried through. And before Meramoso even had a chance to defend its territory, a peacful city with no military presence had been levelled. There were hardly any survivors. We feel that this was a total violation of all rules of combat which resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. This is one of two incidents that is the source of outrage and pain that has saturated our country.

At 11:30 this morning, Meramoso City's downtown core was rocked by a violent explosion which completely destroyed a historic and important government building. Four hundred innocent lives were lost, and many hundreds more were injured. By 3:00pm, it was all too clear that the explosion was the work of a Vlandostani terrorist cell which, up to this point, had been inactive. By 10:00pm, President Jacob Hobbes had received an intelligence report from the MSIA (Meramosian Secret Intelligence Agency) concerning the matter. We feel, because of the ill-will caused by the war, extremists of your country have committed terrorist acts to rectify their radical views. It is now believed that your government, because of past troubles between our two nations, turned a blind eye towards these terrorists and may have even supported them with weapons or money. We demand a full and public apology, and also we demand that you crack down hard on these evil people who wish only death and pain upon the citizens of my great nation. If you do not respond immediately, action will be taken by Meramoso to ensure that these agents of terror and all who aid them will be swiftly cut down.

Failure to comply to our demands will be treated as a gross act of indecency.

We have given Vlandostan sufficient time to respond, yet has failed. Their disrespect has insulted the nation of Meramaso and confirms their shady dealings. Following a long and heated debate, the unanimous decision was to invade Vlandostan and rectify this injustice.

Minutes after the declaration is made, the green light is given to go ahead with the invasion. Ten KA-58 Attack Helicopters lift off and head for Vlandostani shores. The 15,000 men that were standing by in Transports are deployed, moving quickly toward Vlandostan.
Seperate transports carrying 25 M3K Tanks and 50 AMOS Armored Mortar Vehicles head for the same target.
Ten minutes later, 20 F-22s take off from an airbase located 15 miles outside of Meramoso City.

The Kingdom of Wengard would like to support the purge of terrorism by donating it's active forces. Though they are not true soldiers, but merely peacekeepers, they are ordered to do their best to avoid massacre of Vlandostan civilians and casualties of Meramaso troops.

30 000 active men are deployed by multiple transport boats to the Vlandostan shores. 15 000 are armed with the latest in the Kingdom's anti-riot technology, each with a riot shield, taser, prod, bean-bag gun and such. The rest are deployed as medical staff and suppliers, as well as aides should Meramaso require it. It seems an actual attack on Wengard's men could mean disaster, but lives can be saved...

Dundaine, all the information needed lies in the telegram I sent to Vlandostan.

The Dundaine Mech Squadrons and Infantry with the Airborne marines have pleged there loyalty

Being that most of them are in space right now they will be there with in the hour

The squad of Attack Choppers drew near to their first mission; a terrorist training camp nestled in the high hills in the south of the country. They dropped low as they neared the crest of a hill which looked down into the valley where the camp was. They were nearly invisible in the darkness, and their blades could not be heard unless you were within 20 feet or so.
The squad leader gave the word and all at once the choppers popped up over the crest of the hill and rained Hellfire missles on the camp.

A great deal of your evidence is highly circumstancial. If indeed Vlandostan is harboring terrorists, we would be willing to help root them out, but stronger, more solid evidence is needed. You admit that they have not answered your demands, and yet you are going ahead with an invasion. The Federation of Glorious Humanity finds this disturbing to say the least.

We would like to hear Vlandostan's side of this before we commit to anything.

Our evidence is not entirely circumstantial, quite on the contrary. Our intelligence reports indicate a huge terrorist network hellbent on kill Meramosians. However, these reports are compiled by the MSIA and are highly classified. We cannot release our intelligence reports to any who requests them, I'm sure you understand.

The transports landed on a wide, sandy beach adjacent to a large grassland which apparently stretched for miles. The troops disembarked first, and then after they had been cleared off the landing area, the vehicles were deployed. They rolled onto the grassland and began to patrol the primeter of the camp that thousands of men were in the process of setting up.
They would have a fully functional base completed by sunrise, a temporary HQ for launching the rest of the invasion.

OOC: It's 3am here, I gotta goto bed. So don't make anymore moves for tonight. Anything after this post will be ignored until I post again tomorrow.

IC: You claim to have irrefutable proof, but will not show it to the world? That is very disturbing. We respectfully ask you to back down from your invasion. Surely if this terrorist group truly exists, Vlandostan would be willing to aid in capturing them. Such a force blackening their nation is surely not something they want.

We are, frankly, shocked that your forces could bombard a city so mercilessly. This is meant to be a mission to uncover terrorist factions, and your men have turned it into a massacre. We respectfully request you control your forces' destruction, or risk an international incident.

OOC: None of those attacks counted. I said that everything after my last post would be ignored, so he gets a second chance. And I'm going to edit my post so it isn't godmodding. Let the war... re-begin.

Two hours after the temporary Meramosian base was completed, three transport helicopters carrying Special Operations teams (10 per chopper) lifted off and and began a low flight northward. Two teams were armed with G36k Assault Rifles, SPAS-15 Combat Shotguns, Beretta 92FS Handguns and Combat Knives. The remaining team was armed with MG-43 Squad Support Machine Guns. They neared another suspected terrorist camp located deep in a jungle. About a mile away from the camp, the helicopters dropped down to 30 feet above the ground began to hover. Lines were dropped and the soldiers repelled down to the jungle floor.

The mile-long hike took 35 minutes (although the forest floor was fairly level, they were crouched low to the ground and were looking out for terrorist patrols), and near the edge of the camp, the teams split up. The team armed with the support Machine Guns spread themselves out around the perimeter of the camp. The other two readied themselves on opposite ends of the camp.

"Bravo team, prepare to lay down cover fire. Alpha team, you'll move in along with us when I give the word." the voice crackled through the radio from the Omega team leader.

There were several terrorists armed with Vlandostani-issue assault rifles standing outside the doors of small compound buildings constructed of heavy sheet metal.

"Alpha. You are go to move in."

The two teams armed with the Assault Rifles and Shotguns ran towards the door guards. They crept up behind them, placed them in a headlock then plunged their hunting knives into their hearts. Still in a headlock, they dragged them towards the rear of the buildings and hid the bodies.

After killing the guards, the soldiers stood beside the doors of the larger buildings.

"Why don't you see if they invite us in for a drink?" the Omega leader chuckled.

The soldiers nodded and knocked heavily on the doors and then popped the first person to open the door in the head with their Berettas. As the bodies fell to the floor, the terrorists suddenly realized they were under attack. The soldiers sprayed a couple shotgun rounds blindly into the rooms before withdrawing away from the buildings.

"Bravo team, fire at will."

Suddenly the entire perimeter of the camp was lit up with the muzzle flash of 10 machine guns spraying at the terrorists that filed out of the buildings. There was some return fire from the terrorists' assault rifles, but no Meramosian forces were hit, as the terrorists were simply taking a stab in the dark.

"That'll do, Bravo."

As suddenly as it had started, the hail of bullets ceased. Alpha and Omega teams raised their assault rifles and began searching the sheet metal buldings, searching for evidence of Vlandostani government support.

It wasn't hard to find. All the rifles used by the terrorists were Vlandostani military issue, and there were cases of ammo stamped with the Vlandostani coat of arms. They were quickly photographed with small digital cameras, and then the force withdrew back to their drop point.
A smoke signal was lit and thrown into the small clearing, and the helicopters were radioed:

"Operation Jungle Sweep is complete. We've popped a smoke and would like to know the whirlies' ETA."

"Jungle Sweep completion confirmed. The birds should be at your smoke in 40 minutes."

President Jacob Hobbes was standing in front of a podium situated in front of the skeletal remains of the government building in Meramoso City which had been bombed by terrorists. A large amount of reporters were present, and behind them, an estimated 10,000 civilians were crowding the street to listen to the speech. Camera flashes were going off nearly every second. He began:

"The rubble which lies behind me was, not very long ago, a proud government building. A testament to the strength and greatness of our Free Land of Meramoso. But as you know, there are those in this world that do not believe in what is right. These people despise peace and unity and love death and destruction. These same people decided to destroy the building that once stood behind me. They thought that by reducing one of our mighty buildings to not but rubble, they would do the same to our great nation. Well they were wrong!"

A great cheer rose up from the crowd. Signs praising Meramoso and President Hobbes were thrust into the air and shaken victoriously. He waited for the applause to die down.

"Now, what was once a testament to our nation's strength, has become a testament to our resolve to hunt down and punish those would destroy the delicate balance which makes our country a beautiful place to live. And by God, we will hunt them down. In fact, we have already begun that process. Not long ago, nearly half of our military invaded the rogue nation of Vlandostan with the objectives of finding and killing all terrorists, as well as overthrowing its corrupt regime. Well I have news for you: we are quickly achieving these goals. Already, two major terrorist camps have been routed by special forces. I assure you that terrorists and all who harbor them will be swiftly cut down. The lives of those who were taken from us will not have been taken in vain, for we will repay the evildoers a hundred times, and then a hundred times again!"

The crowd exploded into cheering and clapping. Jacob Hobbes smiled and gave a wave to his people as he stepped down from the podium and into a limousine in the center of the Presidential motorcade.

I would like to surrender to meramoso. I had no knowledge of these terrorists, and would be pleased to aid anyone in the eradication of these criminal offenders.

It is wise that you have surrendered, Vlandostan, but by surrendering you must agree to the following terms or face destruction.

1)You may never posess a military of any kind, ever. If your security is threatened, Meramoso will see to it that you are protected.

2)Meramosian forces will occupy your nation for a period not exceeding 10 years, to ensure that all terrorist activity is quelled.

3)We DEMAND a public apology from your goverment (OOC: On a seperate thread designed for that purpose) for the deaths of the innocents in Meramoso City.

4)Your leader must resign and face a Meramosian trial for supporting these terrorists. He will be taken into custody by military personnel and taken to a military prison outside of Meramoso City, pending charges.

You have one hour to accept these terms.

I will agree, however, I would like to request to get a military after your forces have moved out.

After Meramosian forces have withdrawn from your country, you will be allowed to posess a small military, equal to 1/4 of Meramoso's military.

I would seek an equal allaince with meramoso.

A large transport helicopter containing 10 soldiers lands outside Vlandostani Leader Rick LeDick's (OOC: Gotta love that name! XD) home near the capital. They storm his house and take him into custody without incident. He is escorted to the Meramosian base in the south of Vlandostan, where he is taken by ship to Meramoso City. From there a military convoy takes him to the prison where he is to await trial.

Currently we are unable to make such an offer, Vlandostan. After several years, we may re-negotiate this term, but as for now, it stands.

OOC: Nice war you've got yourselves their guys... I mean you waited for him to respond to your mobilisation of your troups...

Didn't you? I mean it's not like he can see the large amount of forces entering his nation or anything is it? He doesn't has security forces watching for invasions or any such action... it's not like he even has a navy which can stop the hardest part of your war, securing a port so you may move large numbers of forces into his nation.

So you did let him reply to your invasion... didn't you?


Of course, forgetting this you didn't even let him respond to your setting up command posts in his nation...

Nice RP, shame about the way it was done.

It may take him time to find a time to post but it's is pretty important that you run a war turn by turn instead of drum rolling actions, otherwise you end up missing all the important parts of invasion that he should have a chance in, invasion is alot harder to do on another nation seeing as you have to secure your supply routes and he doesn't, seeing as you have alot longer to wait for support then he does and he knows his land well... whats more when breaching (landing forces on a beach because you don't have access to a port) you have limited forces which have to be used to secure a better way of getting troups in, like a port.

All of this was conveniently avoided.


While I know he has accepted his fate, I feel that this was terrible form and a very unfair way to run a war RP.

Jacob Hobbes sat at his desk, dressed in a beautiful suit. He stared at the TV Camera, waiting for it to be turned on. A red light on top of the camera turned on, then to green.

"Tonight, I address my nation after major combat operations in Vlandostan have ended. Fellow Meramosians: we have won! After routing out major terrorist encampents, Vlandostan quickly surrendered, and its leader and his administration have been taken into custody and are, as we speak, being held in a Meramosian military prison just outside our capital. They will soon face trial in our justice system and, if convicted, will be serve their sentences in Meramosian prisons. Meramoso's military will occupy Vlandostan until it's clear that all terrorist threats have been eliminated. We are now looking forward to helping the Vlandostani people rebuild their nation into one that is free from crime and terror."

OOC: I'm sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately, he didn't even posess an army.
Also, I'm new at this. Looking back on it, I know it wasn't perfect. I had to IM him to let him know what was going on, since he didn't check his telegrams.
I'm still learning, just like everyone else.

Wengard's forces have pulled out of the nation of Vlandostan and ensured it will interfere no further.

OOC: Did he say that he had no military? I didn't notice him state that he has no military and I hope that you didn't assume he had no military on the grounds that he post in time to oppose you.

All this can be averted if you read some of the stickies that are around in these forums... sometimes it's just good manners to remember that people have lives to live and they can't answer on the day or even on the week.

It's ok, I'm not ignoring you or anything, I just don't like seeing nations going to war while ignoring some key issues to do with invasion... personally I am still learning all I feel I need to know for a good war and I'm a February Nation with 1.7 billion people and one of the biggest militaries around.

Not that it matters, just be careful in the future, I could jump into this on imperialistic grounds (I don't like nations changing soviegn governments) but I don't have time for these kind of conflicts.

Just remember, when you move forces, people can notice... when you get close, people will notice and you should let the nation your attacking reply before doing anything more (at least in a military sence, you can still post communications and so on, just not results) after that you should take it in turns, responding to each others actions... otherwise you miss important details about their nations forces.

Just my too pence I guess...

OOC: But again, I'm sorry. Like I said, I'm learning, and I AM improving. This was exponentially better than my last conflict, so I would like it if no one else criticises me for now. If I slip up in the future, however, I would request the opposite; c&c is the only way to improve. :oops:
