CIN Breaking News: Foreign assailants caught in Colerica...

Colerica
27-12-2003, 00:19
Colerica Imperial News has just been informed that at least three foreign agents have been caught by Colerican security police within the borders of the United Empire. On the three agents, (two male, one female), CIN has been told, was found three handguns, cameras, and a few other electronic equipment that hasn't been named.

Magistrate of State, Kressi Thra, had this to say; "The United Empire of Colerica is asking other nations to identify who these three foreign assailants are. We assure all nations that we will not execute these agents. Please step forward and claim these three individuals."

In other news, terrorist leader Eric Ledger was found guilty in his military tribunal today. The tribunal ruled that Ledger was guilty of conspiring to overthrow the Colerican government, attempting to overthrow the Colerican government with the use of force and violence, twenty-four accounts of murder, and four accounts of terrorist bombing/coordinating terrorist strikes in Colerica. His sentence announced swiflty; Eric Ledger will die. There hasn't been a set date for Ledger's execution.

The Colony of Rilos is fastly becoming a popular spot for Colerican citizens. Rilos, which was annexed into the United Empire recently, is in transition from its former centrist democratic government to fit under the laws and regulations of the United Empire and the Emperor.

I have contemplaterd your issue, and is it possible that the three agents are working for Ledger?

The Kingdom of Hawkin congratulates you on your conviction of Eric Ledger.

It is the Kingdom's belief that all terrorists should be punished as hard as possible.

If you have any problems in any way executing this terrorist the Kingdom of Hawkin will gladly lend you both execution personel and several hundreds of our special forces in order to keep peace during the execution.

We have not ruled out that three agents may be terrorists working for GLA terrorist Eric Ledger, however, the Colerica Imperial Intelligence Agency says otherwise. The CIIA says that it is almost one hundred percent positive that the agents came from a foreign nation and have no real ties to Ledger. But the United Empire is taking this with a grain of salt. We will hold all information on these agents with some degree of suspicion.

While I am not sure who these despicable pro-espionage intruders are, I can assure you (on behalf of Rebeland and the nations within) that the individuals captured are not from Militantatopia. I wish you luck in your pursuit for justice.
27-12-2003, 00:36
PFM demands these people be set free immediately, and sent to PFM to await evidence of them being terrorists.

We also wish to add that in fact, Rebeland had a terrorist problem not lnog ago, and these people amy have been based in that nation.

PFM demands these people be set free immediately, and sent to PFM to await evidence of them being terrorists.

The United Empire of Colerica regards your demand as holding no weight. We will not accept your nation's demand, as we are not labelling these foreign agents as terrorists, they are detained assailants. We believe they may be members of another nation's intelligence agency.

Colerica is still recovering from its Global Liberation Army problem. After we captured over 240 GLA terrorists, plus their Colerica cell leader, Eric Ledger, we have ruled that they are no longer a problem in Colerica.

You can be fully assured that if they had of been PFM agents, they would have destroyed your capital, not sat around idly waiting to be captured.

The United Empire of Colerica finds your response both amusing and helpful. We won't consider your nation as responsible for sending these three agents, unless evidence presents itself to prove otherwise.

"General Koren, sir, we believe we may have found solid facts as to where the agents came from," a CIIA agent says, hurriedly.

"Where?" General Azben Koren inquires impatiently.

"The CIIA, after tracing potential leads, has narrowed it down to a nation belonging to A-Corp," he said.

"A-Corp? The terrorist sympathizers? Hmm....Colerica doesn't have the ability to pursue that big of an organization. Narrow it down further!" Koren demands.

"Yes sir. Right away sir," the CIIA agent says and quickly exits.

Koren walks over to the phone. He picks it up and presses "3", for General Madison's number.

"Yes?" Madison says over the line.

"Madison," Koren starts.

"Yes, General Koren?" He says.

"Prepare a group of your elites. We have narrowed down the target country to any nation belonging to A-Corp. I want a Special Forces team to be on the touch, ready to be delivered once we find out which nation this exactly was," Koren instructs.

"Yes, sir."

Director of Military Intelligence Harold "Harry" Fox returned to his office the day after Christmas in a bad mood. He hated not getting more time off, but being the leader of Glorious Humanity's intelligence service was a time-consuming job. He ran a hand through his black hair and snorted sourly. He should be spending more time with his family, not stuck behind his desk reading reports. His kids were growing up fast, and his wife was always begging him to take time off.

Next review, he thought. I'm resigning. No married man should have to deal with this. He stumped into the front room of his office and greeted his secretary, noting with a certain spiteful satisfaction that she seemed as annoyed to be on duty right now as he was.

In his personal office, a stack of reports were waiting. Fox looked at them, then flopped into his chair and grabbed one at random. He opened it and read it. Boring, just something about terrorists... probably another bombing somewhere. If his nation did anything about it, it would be small. A team of Angels maybe.

Wait a second. A word near the bottom had caught his eye. He reread carefully, then reached for the phone on the left side of his desk.

The large C-141B swept across the airport and landed on the runway.
It drove up the runway and stopped at the marked space.
The pilot turned off the engines and opened the exit doors. For most of the soilders inside the large airplane this was the first sight of another country as it was very hard to get a permission to leave the Kingdom.

In the distant sirens where heard.
-That is probably the security checks, the colonel commented.

Colonel Mark Travis rushed out of the opening door. He shifted his CAS MC-4 Machine Pistol to his side with the sling over his shoulder. His team was on high alert since the three foreign agents had been discovered.

"Pretty big for Special Forces help, ain't it?" Private First Class Jackson asked.

"No. You're just not used to seeing foreign elites in such large numbers at once," James, another Private, replied.

"I have a bad feeling about all of this," Travis muttered under his breath.

"What was that, sir?" Jackson asked.

Travis shook his head. "Nothing. Let's go. The brass wants this plane and these troops away from this airport and ready for combat."

"Combat? The State really thinks we're going to war with someone over three damn foreign agents?" James asked.

"Seemingly affirmative. CO Howard is edgier than I've ever seen him. Let's get this over with," Travis said as his five-man security team advanced to the unloading RHM troops.
27-12-2003, 02:58
The NSP troops saw the security team coming nearer. They didn't look at all comfortable by the situation. Colonel Jackson, Sergent Rowan and Sergent Lawson stepped forward to greet the personel.

-They look hostile don't they, Sergent Rowan said.

-Well by the looks of it this country really needs our help men, Colonel Jackson replied.

-What'd you mean sir? Sergent Lawson asked.

-They don't look like they are very used to a situation like this. Oh and they probably don't like that fact that we just landed, with government permission, 1000 men in their airport. *LAUGHS*

-Let's just see what they are up to, Sergent Rowan added.

The three of them walked up to the small team and the Colonel started talking:

-We are the 2nd NSP unit. These are my men and they are good. They have received the best training the Royal Military can offer. We are here to help your country in this situation and we are going to do anything we can to protect yours and our own country's interests. "As many of you know, the United Empire of Colerica has caught three foreign intelligence agents inside our borders. "I'm Colonel Mark Travis. This is my team; Rogers, James, Jackson, and Hetherington. My regards on behalf of my CO's," Travis said uncomfortably.

The four other security police officers exchanged glances and nods to the Colonel Jackson's men.

"My orders are to have my men help unload your equipment, do a quick runover your plane, and then escort you out of the airport," Travis said.

"What about their mobile command post, sir?" James asked.

Travis cleared his throat. "That's up to you guys, I guess. I'll patch you through to my CO. Hang on," he said, pressing a button on his radio headset.

A voice crackled over it, saying, "Travis?"

"Sir, these NSP elites want to know where to set up a command post. What do you say?" Travis said into the mouth-piece communicator.

"Send them to Point Romeo. The fed's and the brass have been breathing down my neck. There's enlisted troops and those blasted Crimson Gaurd IRG's everywhere. Damn, I hate this hightened awareness," the man said through the comlink communicator.

"Yes sir," Travis replied. He turned to Colonel Jackson and said, "We're to send you to Point Romeo in Zachara. The military is in the process of locking down the city. We'll escort you there," Travis commented.

Official announcement from the Kingdom of Hawkin.

Due to the situation in the United Empire of Colerica the Kingdom of Hawkin has sent a one thousand man unit from the NSP* under qualified leadership of Colonel Peter Jackson.
The unit has just landed in the United Empire of Colerica and are getting ready to set up their command post. The only thing we can say is that we with a one hundred percent certainty will be victorius in this mission.

Within a matter of minutes, the security police are finished searching the plane.

"Problems how?" Travis asked.

"There's been riots breaking out in certain parts. Over a thousand security police were dispatched to Raxus to stop some of these riots. Apparently, the news of these captive agents is really spurring some trouble," Jackson said.

Travis stood still. His mind swirled around what his Private had just told him. Riots breaking out in the streets? What's this world coming to?
"I see," he said slowly. Turning to Colonel Jackson of the NSP soldiers, he said, "Colonel, we may have to leave your forces. There have been riots breaking out in certian towns and cities. -This is the Minister of National Security. What do you want?

-This is Colonel Peter Jackson speaking. We are set up in Colerica and ready to begin the operation.

He shut off the radio and turned to Colonel Travis.

-All right. We are fully operational. Within a couple of hours we will have full security restored in the city. Lawson, Rowan get maps of the city and find out where these riots are happening. We will soon put a stop to this little problem.

Colerica Imperial News reports: The United Empire of Colerica, after capturing three foreign intelligence agents, has been swamped with riots, rebellions, and other small-scale ordeals throughout the island nation. Rumored reports of over two-hundred and fifty civillians dead in Raxus are surfacing. The city of Alatsar has been completely closed off by Imperial Royal Gaurd, security police, Colerican Special Forces, and other mixed troops. Alatsar is currently been placed under martial law.

Any civillian that is taking up any bit of dissent to the Empire, CIN has been told, will be arrested.

The nation of Hawkin has recently deployed over a thousand Special Forces inside Colerica's capital of Zachara. Some explosions and bombs have been heard going off inside the parts of the capital city.

The Colerican Imperial Navy has closed down all major ports in the nation, and reports are swirling that the CSS Wrath, after returning Rilos, has fired upon and sunk one civillian water craft holding dissenters and rioters.

We will, of course, continue to cover this story......
27-12-2003, 22:37
-Sounds like you got a problem Colonel. I'll send some of my men to assist you, colonel Jackson replied.

James and Larson each took their twenty man large squads and went off with Colonel Travis.

Colonel Travis, his squad, and the group of Hawkin soldiers accompanying them made their way, via APCs, to the general region of the Marin Hotel. The sounds of gunfire and screams filled the air. Smoke billowed from a building across the street which was engulfed in flames. Armed rioters had blocked the city street off with tipped over trash bins and parked cars.

Travis raised his rifle. (He had traded in his HC-4 for an HK MP5A5 while on the APC) He signaled to the men behind him to look into the street as they slowly deployed from the two APC's. Shots rang out and rioters' rifles spat out fiery lead at the troops exiting the vehicles.

"Where the hell did they get guns from?" Private James shouted.

"They must have broken into a State cache," Rogers reasoned.

"We don't have to time to talk about that! Find cover," Travis shouted.

He and the men spread out in a fan-like defense pattern, covering themselves and eachother. Travis crouched behind the burnt-out shell of a truck with two other men; one of his own and one of the Hawkin soldiers.

"We're authorized to kill the civillians?" The Hawkin(ese?) Special Forces operative asked.

"Affirmative. The military isn't going take any of this from civillians. They fire a shot on you, kill them," Travis said.

Bullets pinged off he truck shell, and Travis ducked down for cover. Hetherington, his security police officer next to him, stood up and sprayed the shooters with several shots. Two rioters fell wounded, but a third raised his rifle and shot Hetherington. The security police officer whirled in pain and fell to the ground. Travis crawled a foot to his left to see his downed man. He was horrified at the sight. The bullets shot from the rioters rifle had found their target on Hetherington's throat. Blood poured out like a faucet.

"God," Travis said under his breath and raised his sub-machine gun to fire at the rioters.

"James, give me a sit-rep," Travis said through his radio headset.

"We're taking hits, sir. I think two of the Hawkin soldiers have taken lead. I have a cut across my forehead, but I'm okay. We're gonna try to spread down through the entrance of the Marin Hotel and find Davies," Private James replied.

"Do it!" Travis shouted into the radio mouthpiece. "Sgt. Larson, you have a plan?" He said to the Hawkin soldier across from.
27-12-2003, 23:35
-Affirmative sir. I'll take a few of my men and try to get around the rioters. You just keep firing at them and keep them busy and we'll make them wish they weren't born.

Sgt. Larson yelled two three of his men to get over there and they all moved through the building next to the truck.
As soon as they got on to the other side of the building they started opening fire on the rioters.
Within a few minutes the small group of heavily armed civilians had been wiped out with the help of the security police.

-Nice job colonel, Larson said.
-We totally wiped them out. But what is wrong with them. I though you just catched some foreign agents. Why would that start a riot of this size?

As the aircraft flies over the city, vapour is dispersed from tiny wingtip tanks, spreading over a large area, including the airport terminal, and many other civilian buildings.

As soon as the craft is over the city, is explodes, and the fuel vapour behind catches alight, causing a fireball well over a mile in length and half a mile wide, exploding over the city, covering roads and buildings in burning aviation fuel.

OOC: No, PFM, I don't quite want you to be dousing my population with burning oil. I'm sorry. Myself and Hawkin are setting up a decent RP with the storyline I was going by. You're changing it to something I don't quite care for, ie burning my capital. I'd prefer if you stayed out of this RP, if you so be so kind as to do so. Nothing personal, just don't like where this is headed....

Travis turned to Sgt. Larson. "I'm not sure why all of this is happening. My job isn't to ask questions, though. My job is to protect Colerica. And with the help of you and your nation's men, I'm accomplishing my job," he said.

OOC: Will be gone for most of tommarow. May be able to check in to RP slightly in morning.

-Well we better secure the area. I'm gonna get some teams out here to sweep the area, he continued.

"That's the right idea,' Travis commented. "We need to secure this entire city block," he added.

"Colonel Travis, Davies is KIA," Rogers said sorrowfully.

Travis held his head low for a few moments until he was interrupted by Private James.

"Colonel Travis," Private James interrupted. "I've got Major Wilson on the horn. He says he's pinned down in a burning building just west of here a few blocks. He needs help. He said there's GLA members attacking his men," he said.

"Understood. Tell him we're coming," Travis said. He turned to Larson, "You going to help us again? I can call for more forces, though, if you'd like to give your men a rest. Your call," Travis said.

"That's what I was hoping to hear," Travis said to Larson.

The men loaded up onto two APCs and raced to the site of where Major Wilson was pinned down. Rogers drove nervousily as he saw another blockade made by the rioters in the road. Out of the corner of Travis' eye he saw something flare up. Travis turned his head just in time to see a rocket-propelled grenade scream through the air and strike the APC he was in.

Blackness and chaos insued for the next few moments. Travis found himself thrown on the pavement, meters from the APC he was in. He looked to see the burning hulk of the vehicle, twisted and chared, lying on its side in the roadway. Men scattered the ground, some moving, some not.

"Colonel Travis!" A voice shouted.

Travis found his way to his feet. He saw the man who was calling him; Private James. James was battered, bruised, and cut-up, but alive.

"Sir, are you okay?" He asked.

"Just a scratch," Travis said, shaking his head to wake himself up.

"Our APC was hit with an RPG. Spilled the truck on her side, caught the insides on fire. At least five are still in there; dead. The rest of us were thrown out," James said.

"Rogers? Is he--" Travis began.

"Rogers is dead, sir," James said.

Suddenly, gun fire spit at them from across the street, behind the blockade.

"Damn it!" Travis yelled. He threw himself forward into a commando roll and retrieved his MP-5A5 from the ground. He and James evaded bullets as they made their way behind a brick wall.

"Where are those Hawkin soldiers? How many of them were in the APC?" Travis asked while blind-firing his sub-machine gun.

"At least three are still in the APC, sir. Sgt. Larson has the majority of them in the other APC. They were stalled down the road. I heard gun fire coming from their direction not long before we were hit with that RPG," James said as he loaded a fresh clip into his M-4 carbine.

"Really good situation we got going here. Major Wilson is still in that building, I'd assume," Travis said, pointing to a building down the street, past the blockade, that was engulfed in flames. "These aren't just rioters, James," Travis said, noticing something about the gunmen down the road as he looked at them through his scope.

"What do you mean, sir?" James asked.

"These are GLA. All of them. None of these are rioters; they're all terrorists," he said.

"Damn. You think they're attacking 'cause of Ledger getting sentenced?" James asked.

"Don't know. I'm not going to jump to assumptions," Travis replied.

Travis aimed his scope and levelled the crosshairs on the head of one of the terorrists. He squeezed off three rounds and the target fell dead to the cement. He clicked a switch on his headset radio and said, "Sgt. Larson. Repeat, Sgt. Larson. What the hell is going on down there with you guys? Give me a sitrep," Travis said.

They APC drew quickly down the roads. All over the city there were roadblocks. Suddenly they were under fire. Nobody knew where it came from but it was good. The driver was hit and the APC flew off the road and crashed into a building, immediatly the rioters had surrounded them.
The shots came from all around and within minutes several of the people in the APC were hit.

The radio shattered (OOC: Not sure about this word. Can't remember how to translate the danish word). It was Col. Travis asking for a status.
Sgt. Larson answered:
-This is Sgt. Larson. We are taking heavy fire. For some reason these rioters look more like soldiers to me. They look like they've got military traning anyway. We are going to try to shoot our way out.

Gunshots were heard and the radio died.

Travis heard the gunfire ring out through the radio. "Damn it, I think we just lost those Hawkins," he said.

"Go back for them?" James asked while firing his rifle.

"Negative. At least not yet," Travis said. "We need to get to Major Wilson, if he's still alive," Travis continued.

"We could order an air strike, sir," James suggested.

"Do it. Get on the phone," he said.

James contacted their headquartes and handed the communication line to Travis. "Get us a damn air strike here. We're pinned down just outside the Tymes Bewery buildings. We have men down and the hostiles are everywhere," he said.

"Understand. Sending F-15's your way," the voice said.

"Well?" James asked, firing and killing a rioter.

"That was the CSS Jonathon Ridge dispatch. Their sending F-15's," Travis replied.

"Thank God," James responded.

Travis clicked the button on his radio headset to a different frequency. "Headquarters, come in," he said.

"Colonel Travis? Where are you guys?" a voice said.

"Pinned down outside the Tymes Bewery. We need help. Requesting additional units. Special Forces, please," he said.

"Consider Bayle's group to be en route then," the voice said.

"Good," Travis replied.

Travis flicked the frequency again on his radio headset to Sgt. Larson's. "Larson. Repeat Sgt. Larson. Come in!" he said frantically into the radio mouthpiece.

Colerica Imperial News has just been informed, literally moments ago, that terrorist leader and mastermind, Eric Ledger, has been executed by hanging. The Colerican cell leader of the Global Liberation Army, Ledger, was responsible for the assassination of former Magistrate of Justice Jonathon Ridge, as well as several shootings, bombings, robberies, and other terrorist attacks that he coordinated.

Seemingly, the riots in the streets of Colerica have began to dissolve and fade away. The city of Raxus, site of the worst of the riots, has been completely contained and has returned to normal. Alatsar and Kydel were also major rioting spots, but both have been contained and rather are returning to normal. Apparently, the riots weren't riots by citizens at all, but rather Ledger loyalists. Now that Ledger has been killed, they have lost their will to fight it seems.

There is still some fighting inside the streets of Zachara, but with the help of the nation of Hawkin, they are dissolving as well. We will continue to cover this story as it unfolds....

OOC: That's okay....I'll continue where I left off and you can RP when you're rested. This is getting good right now...

Four F-15 Eagles raced off the flight deck of the CSS Jonathon Ridge and screamed into the air. Soaring they came over the ocean with immense speed. It would only be a matter of time until they reached their targets and aided Colonel Travis and his men.

***

The sky was low and bleak. Thick gray clouds blocked out any sunlight that attempted to touch the ground. The sight on ground level, however, was much different. Destroyed buildings, burning and demolished, lay scattered like a child’s toy blocks all across the ground. Burned-out automobiles lay tipped on their side, smoking. A large metallic bird circled overhead. It lowered in altitude until it hovered meters from the ground. A large door slid open on the metal bird and ropes dropped from it. Men, uniformed and armed, dropped from the hovering helicopter via their deployment lines.

Gunfire rang out as soon as the men touched the ground. An explosion rocked the ground as a grenade was thrown through a second-story window on one of the buildings. The troops fanned-out in a defensive pattern, taking cover behind the debris of whatever they could find. Captain Victor Bayle raised his rifle to fire. The M-4 carbine spat out fire and lead as he squeezed the trigger. Bullets raced through the air and found their targets, dropping them to the ground.

“Tangos spotted. They’re on the move” a voice said through Bayle's radio headset.

“Take them down,” Bayle said into his headset mouthpiece.

“Downed,” the voice said.

“Tagged one,” said another voice.

“Scratch another tango,” another voice declared.

Gunfire rained down at the group of soldiers from a balcony on a crumbling building down the street.

“Colerican soldiers!” a man on the balcony screamed and fired at Bayle and his men.

-Shit they got Corporal Jones, Sgt. Larson shouted, we've lost our radio.

-We're just gonna have to try to make it our selves, Cop. Henderson said.

-Who do we have still fighting? Sgt. Larson asked

-Only you, Holt, Bobby, Peterson and me, Cop Henderson replied.

-Affirmative, he said, we're gonna try to get in that building and see if we can fight our way out of this shit.

They pulled back still shooting and got into the building they sealed the door and ran to the first floor as they knew it was easier to shoot the rebels from above.

-I'm all out of ammo. It was Peterson shouting.

-Okay... Take this magasine but we're gonna have to make sure we don't run out. This is all we've got, Sgt. Larson replied.

-Take a hundred men and go see if you can help Larson. I'm gonna try to get a chopper, Col. Jackson said.

Victor Bayle's Special Forces team moved quickly to secure the area. Bayle squeezed the trigger on his rifle and shot two of the militants.

"Tango's spotted. They're moving," a teammate said through the radio.

"Tango's at eight o'clock," another teammate said.

"Tagged them," Bayle ordered.

Two of the Special Forces team members open fired on the running aggressors, dropping them to the ground.

"We have to locate Major Wilson and EVAC him," Bayle said.

Suddenly, a building adjacent to Bayle and his team violently exploded when a missile from an F-15 Eagle struck it. The terrorist militants looked around nervously as they assessed the damage from the missile attack. Swiftly, another explosion rocked the ground near the Marin Hotel sending several terrorists flying.

"Hoo-ah!" Private James cried out. "We're getting it done, sir," he said to Travis.

"Yeah, we are," Travis replied briefly and fired at the scurrying rioters.

Another explosion devastated a building next to the Marin Hotel, raining debris onto the surrounding areas.

"Christ, that was a bit to close for comfort," Travis said.

James stood up from his cover, blasting off rounds with his rifle. Bullets struck their intended targets, dropping them to the ground.

"Shit. Weapon dry," James said, and ducked under the cover of the burned-out car.

"I'm down to one clip," Travis said. He looked down at the HK USP Compact in its holster on his thigh. "We still have sidearms," he replied.

Suddenly, a wall to a building behind the rioter's blockade by the Marin Hotel crumbled to the ground sending broken stone everwhere. A Colerican Imperial Army TC-10 tank burst through the wall, showering the ground with rock. The rioters looked around nervously, and one fired his rifle at the tank while shouting curses. The fifty caliber machine gun activated and ripped apart the rioter who fired at the tank, his torn up body fell to the ground.

"Hell yes!" Travis shouted, standing up to fire at the rioters.

"Who ordered that?" James said, relieved.

"Don't know. Maybe Bayle and his SpecForces," Travis said as he caught sight up Bayle's elite squadron moving to the burning building where Major Wilson was trapped.

Travis flicked the switch on his headset microphone. "Sgt. Larson, come in. Sgt. Larson," Travis repeated into his headset radio, in any, seemingly, futile attempt to get a hold of the Hawkin soldiers on the radio.
02-01-2004, 19:53
Colonel Jackson switched off his radio.

-They'll be here in thirty minutes, he said to Sgt. Jones.

After thirty minutes the choppers arrived. Sgt. Jones and his hundred men hurried into them and flew off in the direction of Sgt. Larson. After af couple of minutes of flying they arrived at the scene but didn't hear any shooting.

-Howcome there's no fighting? A private asked.

-I don't know private. But it doesn't look good, Sgt. Jones replied.

They transport helicopters landed on the roof on a building and the soldiers jumped out. They slowly moved down through the building shooting anybody they saw. When they got to the ground floor they scanned the surrounding area but didn't find anybody there.

-Where is everybody, sir? Another private asked.

-That doesn't matter. We're going to see if we can find Sgt. Larson and help him and his men out, Sgt. Jones answered.

They checked the surrounding buildings but nobody was found.

Sgt. Jones swiched on his headset.

-Corporal, this is Sgt. Jones. We can't find Sgt. Larson, sir, he said to the mouth piece.

-WHAT! Search all the buildings and see if you find anything then come back to base., Cop. Jackson replied.

The headset was swiched off.

-Okay men, check out the buildings, If you find anybody bring them back alive. We're gonna see if we can get some information.

The men ran into the buildings but came back minutes later without any sign of humans.

-Okay. We'll go back to base. Sgt. Jones said.

They took of in the choppers.

Sgt. Larson woke up inside a dark room. Where am I? he thought.
He couldn't see a thing and all he could remember was that he was knocked out by some kind of riffle.
He could see the glimse of a door a little way from where he woke up and walked to the door. He tried to open the door but it was of course locked. There was no sign of any of the others in the group. He knocked on the door but there was no sign of anybody outside the door.
He went over to the wall and sat down. He soon fell asleep from exhaustion.

Victor Bayle crept through the burning building, carefully scanning his surroundings for hostiles. His four other men moved quietly behind him, weapons raised. They made their way to the end of a hallway that was blocked by the fire, they quickly dashed up the stairwell to their right and made their way through a corridor on the second floor. The sounds of a wounded man echoed through the air.

"That could be Major Wilson, team," Bayle said quietly.

Lexington walked up beside Bayle, cupped his hands to his mouth, and yelled, "Major Wilson!"

"You idiot," Bayle scorned.

"Sir, it might have been dumb, but it was effective," Lexington defended.

"No, just--Listen!" Bayle cut off.

The man's groans grew louder and then they heard a voice call out, "I'm right over here. Help."

Bayle used hand gestures to move his teammates over to the position where the voice came from. On Bayle's orders, Lexington and Brooks dashed into the room, weapons raised. Lieger, Req, and Bayle moved in behind them. Inside the room lay Major Wilson, pinned down by a piece of debris. The room was blanketed in thick smoke that hung on the ceiling and was slowly absorbing all of Wilson's precious oxygen, vital for his survival.

"Major, I'm Captain Victor Bayle, Colerica Navy SEALs. We're here to EVAC you, safe and sound," he informed.

"Too late," Wilson let out, short of breath.

"What do you mean?" Bayle asked, cautiously moving away from the downed man rather quickly.

"I'm dead as it is, soldier. Save yourselves while you still can. This whole building's gonna collapse any moment now. Those damn rioters," he said, coughing up blood.

Bayle noticed two bullet holes in Wilson's stomach. "You're really in rough shape, Major. Now listen. I'm not going to let you stay here and die. My orders were clear: get you out alive," he said.

"How clear were your orders, Captain?" Wilson asked almost childishly.

"Crystal," Bayle replied, annoyed by the Major's toying question. "Enough of this," Bayle said. He looked to Lexington and Lieger and said, "Get him to his feet."

The two SEALs pulled the Major from the debris that covered him and helped him to his feet. The floor started to creek and buckle. The fire was drawing closer underneath the room and the flames were lapping at the floor boards, burning them to ashes. Bayle looked at the smoke rising through cracks in the floor.

"We have to get out of here now," he said.

Within seconds, the floor heaved out one last exhausted sigh and buckled in, bringing the whole room to the burning floor below it. Bayle hit the floor with a thud. He rolled over and immediately got to his feet. The smoke has rushed to the floor above them, so the air was remotely breathable. He looked to his right to see Lexington, Lieger, and Brooks already up. Req rolled around on the floor once or twice and slowly got up, holding his shoulder.

"It's broken, sir," Req let out, wounded.

"Let's get you out of here too," Bayle said. "Lexington--"

"One step ahead of you, boss," Lexington said as he flicked the safety catch on his sub-machine gun and blasted the cracked glass window to pieces. "That should be big enough," he said.

Major Wilson got to his knees with the help of Lieger. He gasped a few times and said, "Now where?"

"Through the window," Bayle instructed. "Lieger. Lexington. You first," he said. "Req, I'll help you out. And then I'll go last with Wilson in tow," he informed.

"Sounds good," Lieger chocked out.

Brett Lieger pulled out a cable gun from his backpack. He adjusted the carbon dioxide canister inside it, aimed, and pulled the trigger. A thin cable connected to a small harpoon-shaped fastener flew out of the barrel and raced down to the aimed target spot: the balcony on the Marin Hotel. Lieger pulled out five zip line connectors and handed four of them to his teammates. He took the fifth and quickly fastened it to the cable. Lieger grabbed a hold of the zip line connector and threw himself out the window, racing to the designated target spot across the street. Lieger flew down the cable and pulled himself up and over the wooden barricade guard railing on side of the balcony.

Lexington took his and did the same. He slid swiftly down the rope and crashed through the wooden barricade on the balcony that Lieger had avoided colliding with. Brooks followed and repeated the other two men's actions with the same results. Req, battered and broken, grabbed a hold of the zip line connector with one hand and watched as Bayle fastened a cable around Req's hand to the zip line connector to make sure he wouldn't fall off during the zip down. Req tossed himself out the window and completed the zip line just as the other three men had done.

"Okay, Major, you ready for this?" Bayle said.

"No, I should have died up there," Wilson answered.

"Tough," Bayle said.

Victor Bayle grabbed the injured Wilson and connected themselves to the zipline cable connectors. They tossed themselves out the window and down the cable at immense speed. Bayle and Major Wilson landed on the balcony where they were helped by Bayle's team to get inside the Marin Hotel.

***

Travis ran up to a spot the TC-10 had cleared of hostiles, James trailing behind him.

"Not bad," Travis said to one of the Colerican soldiers stepping from the tank.

Suddenly the air was filled with the sound of helicopters whirring. Ten UH-60 Blackhawks circled above and deployed over fifty Imperial Marines to the scene. The well-armed and well-trained troops quickly surveyed the scene as they landed, weapons raised and ready for combat.

"I'm Lieutenant Christian Faria of the UEC Imperial Marines. Looks like you guys had some rough fighting here. Give me a sitrep," he said.

"Well LT, we came here because of Major Wilson. Our APC was hit by an RPG and only a few of us made it out. We lost contact with the Hawkin APC that was trailing us. I fear they are KIA. I called an airstrike from the CSS Jackson Ridge, and some F-15's helped us out. Then Bayle's SEAL team came. Then that bloody TC-10 broke through the wall. Guessing that was you guys, eh?" Travis said.

"You sound like an eye chart, Colonel," James commented.

Faria chuckled slightly. "Good work, Colonel. I'm sure once you're healthy and this situation has blown over, you'll be promoted. Ever thought of joining the Special Forces? You'd make a fine commander," the Lieutenant said. "Where is Major Wilson and Captain Bayle and his team?"

"Up there," James pointed to the balcony of the Marin Hotel. They zip lined from the burning building across the street, crashed through the balcony, and are in the hotel," he continued.

"What caused these riots, LT?" Travis asked.

"Official briefing says Ledger loyalists, which I don't doubt. We detained and killed quite a few GLA in Alatsar, Raxus, and here. Some are saying dissident rebels," Faria informed.

"Who?" Travis and James said together.

"There's been some dissenters in the country as of late. Rebels. Shouldn't be anything to worry about," Faria answered. "I'll see if I can't contact those Hawkin troops and get them informed," he added.

Sgt. Larson woke up with the sound of the door being unlocked.
A man in a grey military uniform came in to the room and told him to stand up. He then tied a piece of cloth around his eyes and roughly got him out of the room.
After quite a walk he found himself tied to a chair facing the wall. A voice spoke:
-I am Commander Jones of the Global Liberation Army. You have been captured and you are going to stay here for some time. So you better get used to it.
Somebody then hit him hard in the back of the head and he passed out.

Colerica Imperial News is glad to finally be able to broadcast that the riots that have plauged certain parts of Colerica have completely come to an end. Through all of it, we believe over one hundred of these rioters were killed, with an additional eighty-five arrested. A dark time in Colerica has come to an end, but has only been replaced with the sinking of the IMS Montaro off the coast of Isla De Plata....
