Commonwealth becomes Republic

26-12-2003, 18:33
Nations of the world. I would like to inform you of the dramatic changes that have occurred over the Christmas period in the nation. On the 23rd of December a series of explosions occurred in the nations capital. The parliament building, government offices and an art gallery were targeted. A left wing terrorist group was responsible. 436 people were killed in one night of violence. Then on Christmas Eve protests arranged by republicans were held across the commonwealth. Then at roughly 9:00p.m. The mob of protestors stormed the parliament building and took the first minister hostage. The protestors were angry at the government's plans to introduce a monarchy for the whole nation. Then at approximately 01:00a.m. the republican army seized power and tore up the constitution of the land. The commonwealth of New Aquitaine is now the Republic of the free states of New Aquitaine. The newly formed government is headed by President Carville and a cabinet of ministers. The parliment signed the new constitution at 10:00 a.m today (boxing day). President Carville has called this a historic step towards a prosperous nation for all the peoples of the new federation. First Minister Nagastakiss is in exile in another region. Thank you.
