Meramoso is a relatively small nation, but is seeing rapid growth. With this growth comes a need for more advanced weaponry. That is why I am offering a contract for 3 billion dollars to develop an attack helicopter similar to that of the Apache Longbow, but with better attack and stealth capabilities. Please give info about what you would be able to do for the money offered and what the cost per vehicle would be.

The Empire of Kevin Land have weapons factories and are interested in selling you some weapons.

Meramoso - you only have a 10B$ military budget. I would wait until you have an economy thats rated between strong to thriving before you start spending loads on the military. In the mean time, if your very worried about being attacked then you should start a nuclear programn with the budget you do have.

The sooner you start - the sooner you'll have nukes.

For all too long Kazakhstania has been forced to purchase Attack Helicopters from other countries. United Elias has supplied the excellent EA-26 for years, and we have bought many surplus AH-1's. Now, we have decided to release something never created before that will surpass all made before.

We announce to you here our new attack helicopter, the Ka-58. It has earned its nickname in trials, and decent tests show that 1 can knock out almost half an armoured division, at over 40 tanks. Its unique design earns many merits. We give you...*drum roll* the Ka-58!!

Design

The Ka-58's design was tight. It was meant to be stealthy and sleek, with a low profile. All, it was designed to have the latest electronic systems and a powerful engine. We have come up with such a design well, and have found it to be a superior attack helicopter. It has filled all the constraints, and surpassed many.

Lets start with the engine. The double turbines are fed through forward mounted grills to lower thermal imaging output, and the exhaust is vented through a small spleen in the back. This also lowers heat output. The double rotors are large and wide, and are mounted one on top of the other. This takes away the need for a tail rotor, as they spin in opposite directions. It also doubles the lift created for a higher weapons load.

It has a sleek and stealthy body with rounded edges, and a twin tail at the end. It black nylon-fibre cover make it very stealthy, and they also absorb heat so less is vented for detectors to pick up. It has character in one weapons pylon on either side, and a large bay underneath.

The cockpit layout is user friendly, with a double HUD for the pilot and co-pilot. Each has duplicate controls, and between the two there are 6 Small Control Screens and 2 large screens. Each is touch sensitive and is calculated by sensors behind the screen. Also, specially designed helmets control where the cannons are pointed, and the pilot’s screens each has their own HUD. Thermal, night vision and digital Vision are all available for the pilot through the helmet.

The dimensions of this helicopter are fairly large. We all think of attack helicopters as small, but it is fairly large especially for a stealth helicopter.
Its main dimension is its height. Due to the double rotors and weapons bay it is tall. It may not have a low profile, but it is certainly smaller than the Mi-35 and can carry an identical payload.

Systems

The second design attribute of this helicopter was it had to contain some of the worlds (OOC: I mean Modern Tech Worlds) most advanced systems. No less, we have lifted most of the systems from our latest and greatest ground attack fighter. It contains all the systems, and more.

Our proudest system is the JTIDS, Joint Tactical Information Distribution System. This computer allows information to be passed quickly and efficiently to other helicopter, ground units and aircraft. This gives great scout capability, in that information can be passed with the use of cameras and imagers, and automatically passed on.

The targeting system is second to none. Using easy controls via the screens in the cockpit, targets can be assigned and aimed at with ease. The targeting system automatically targets the cannon where the helmet sensors are pointed, or are trained on targets assigned. All payloads are targeted easily and weapons catered for by the computer and profiles are merged, via Thermal, Heat seeking sensors that can be targeted.

The supercomputer that runs it all is liquid nitrogen cooled and very, very small. Still, it can manage the flight controls, targeting and JTIDS in nanoseconds. It allows for learning, and can be automatically programmed to do certain things. Target info can even be passed on mid mission.

A radar in the front is small, but still useful. In front of the cannons, the radar has a range of 30 nautical miles. It can pass info on smoothly, and can be trained again via the pilot’s helmets. Radar guided missiles can be fired and guided by the radar, which can be turned off at any time to preserve stealth. Even then, ECM can detect aircraft and ground targets easily.

Counter measures include a grade A jammer. What it does is use jamming to stop jamming. This provides an all time jammer that stops other jammers effecting the electronics. Also, chaff and flares as well as radar dazzlers can be included.

The ejection seat is a pretty violent affair. Explosive charges are placed in the inner engine compartment. When they are given the order, they blow and the rotors are blown off the restraints, miles sideways. Then, the whole cockpit is released and is jetted upwards, free from the helicopter. When they come to 200 feet, a parachute is opened and the whole cockpit comes to a soft landing, The whole thing floats, as an added bonus.

Weaponry

We always knew that this helicopter must be heavily armed to stand any chance, and it has prevailed. Huge loads of weaponry can be loaded, including 250kg bombs and the like. Hell, one can almost carry the payload of a Hind, but not quite. Lets start shall we:

The frontal weapon is a twin 30mm cannon. It is fully rotating, and its rate of fire can be changed via the cockpit controls. This varies from 300, 2,000 to 2,600 rounds per minute, for ammo conserving. It can pierce the top ammo of most tanks, and seriously damage others. It can also be used on aircraft and helicopters. It can pan 360 degrees and raise and fall 45 degrees.

The main weapons bay can accommodate 2 250 kg bombs or 8 AT-16 ATGM's. These are fairly large weapons, each capable of mass destruction. The 250kg bombs weigh, well, 250 kg and are very large. They in fact, where designed for aircraft. Enjoy :twisted:

The wing pylons are large. They can carry some very special weapons. They can carry 16 AT-16's each, and are capable of holding Air-to-Air Missiles like the AA-10 Alamo. Hell, they can carry 2 250 kg bombs each. This is a huge payload, capable of destroying huge numbers of armoured vehicles, or aircraft.
