(INN) December 25,2003- New Phoenix City, Inauna

The nation of Inauna has launched its first space probe.
A new page of success has been added to Inauna's history.
The Planetary Orbiter was launched aboard an Arrow 3-stage rocket at approximately at 2000 GMT. The LPO (Lunar/Planetary Orbiter)probe, whose mission will be to orbit the moon and the inner planets of Venus and Mercury, will conclude its mission with a trip to Mars. Its primary objective will be to gather information on the planets based on information such as the disappearance and reappearance of Mercury's atmosphere, Venus' cloud cover, the moon's albedo, Mars' north and south poles.
Inaunan Space Agency Director Wesley Jackson said "This is an important stepping stone for the nation and most importantly for the space program.
This will allow to gain foothold with other spacefaring nations. We have a long way to go, but we are one step closer to frutition."
The mission is expected to last a minimum of 10 years. The probe will swing by the moon first and use it as a slingshot and arrive at Mercury in a few months. Afterwards it will slingshot around Mercury after orbiting the planet for 18 months and arrive at Venus 4 months later.
It will make a second swingby around the moon and orbit the moon for about 3 months and swing around the Earth for its final destination at Mars.
