VERSIONS

M-031: The M-031 is the basic troop carrier version of the M-03 MMPWV. It can carry 2 operators and up to 8 soldiers (seated in the rear portion and rear cargo portion) or up to 2700 lbs. of cargo. This version has mounts located about midway on the main body for a machine gun or ATGM launcher. This version is outfitted with basic armor although plates can be added at designated areas for more protection. Comes in hard body (roof, hard doors) or soft body (soft doors and a removable canvas roof).
M-033: The M-033 is a dedicated troop/cargo hauler. It can haul up to 5200 lbs of cargo or 10 soldiers. The rear portion is outfitted with a cargo-type box with steel tubing supporting a canvas cover. Rear portion has seating, ammunition racks, and tie downs for cargo. To support this extra weight the M-033 has a reinforced frame with added crossmembers. This version has a self-recover winch located at the front of the vehicle.
M-035: This is the designated armament carrier version of the M-03 MMPWV. It can be soft or hard bodied with a hatch located on the roof to the rear and middle of the roof. The hatch is outfitted with a pivot able to mount a 7.62mm machine gun, .50 caliber machine gun, or an ATGM launcher. This version has a self-recover winch located at the front of the vehicle. Also, twin pivots are located on roll-over bar that supports windshield. (This version is shown in picture)
M-037: This is the heavier armament carrier version of the M-03 MMPWV. Its all hard-body with enhanced armor and reinforced crossmembers with a hatch located on the roof to the rear and middle of the roof. The hatch is outfitted with a pivot able to mount a 7.62mm machine gun, .50 caliber machine gun, or an ATGM launcher. This version has a self-recover winch located at the front of the vehicle.
M-041: This version of the M-03 MMPWV is a medical evacuation unit. It has two versions the M-041A (With only an extension added to the rear to make it larger for two litter patients and six ambulatory patients as well as medical equipment) and the M-041B2 (with an addittion that covers the entire rear and onto the roof of the M-03, can hold 4 litter patients and 8 ambulatory patients as well as a medic and medical equipment). Both versions have a self-recovery winch at the front of the vehicle.
M-047: This version of the M-03 MMPWV is the scout platoon's version, its outfitted with enhanced armor covering the sides, front, and bottom of the vehicle to protect against small arms and mines. It's all hard-body with a hatch located on the roof to the rear and middle of the roof. The hatch is outfitted with a pivot able to mount a 7.62mm machine gun, .50 caliber machine gun, or an ATGM launcher. This version has a self-recover winch located at the front of the vehicle.

Features (on all versions)-
1. Full-length galvanized steel skid plate with a half inch layer of slanted aluminum honeycomb with another layer of dispercing ceramics above it. (Mine protection)
2. Self-recover winch standard on all versions.
3. Automatic tire reinflation system with reinforced rims and shock absorbers. Automatically reinflates tires to a set pressure when depressurization is detected, when depressurization is detected, three nozzles on the rim disperse and auto-filling agent to seal the rupture.
4. SB-TIPS-1 system- This system, placed in the cab, allows the vehicle's driver or secondary operator (passenger in the front passenger seat) to set the pressure for each tire, either individually, in pairs, or all at once. Provides optimum traction when needed.
5. SB-QWTS- This system allows all four wheels to assist in turning, making it highly maneuverable, even in 4WD.

Caption- M-035 soft body version with optional twin mounts shown below. Notice the rear portion, the M-035A2 version has trunk-type rear portion for storing ammunition and supplies.

Bump. Come on, ain't it beautiful?!

the hummvee looks sturdier
Soviet Bloc
23-12-2003, 05:28
Well actually, the M-03 is sturdier, it was built for rough terrain and its frame and cross members are stronger, sturdier, and more reinforced than the HMMWV's. Sure, from the outside the HMMWV looks sturdier, just from its rather boxy look, but underneath this is built for carrying loads across some treacherous terrain and its got the frame to support it.

Only a few issues:

- This has less ground clearance than a HMMWV
- This has less fording capability than a HMMWV
- The engine has less horsepower than a HMMWV engine, and is incredibly inefficient (7.1 liters, but only 250 HP?)
- You forgot to list the torque
-If it's a diesel engine, it ought to run off nearly any flammable liquid, not just the specific variants of diesel you listed
- This lacks the tire pressure control/anti flat system of the HMMWV
- The winch ought to be standard on all models

Also, if I were you, I'd add some basic ceramic or at least Kevlar in a sheet under all the passengers - such a system is a proven life-saver in case the vehicle hits a mine.

1. Its got the same ground clearance. (The picture lies)
2. Its got the same fording capability (2.5 feet unprepared, 5 ft with snorkel kit).
3. The HMMWV engine gets only 150 hp at 3600 RPM and its got a 6.2 liter. And I was going to add a more efficient and powerful engine as soon as I came up with it.
4. Sorry, I'll add that.
5. I put diesel and the others, just to specify.
6. I forgot to add the special features... Dammit. Thanks for informing me, yes it does have the same anti-flat features, full length underbody skid plate with reinforced sloped honeycomb aluminum with a layer of ceramics for mine protection, and it does have a tire pressure regulator within the cab.
7. Shit, forgot to add that to every one of these. And yes, it is supposed to be standard.

There, modifications are done. Btw, thanks .30 .

It's nice... but I think I'm going to stick with the Humvee and the Desert Patrol Vehicle as my general-purpose vehicles.

After reviewing the revised specifications of the new vehicle, the Free Republic of Thirtycaliber will take 1,000 for testing purposes. This comes to $5,000,000. If the tests are successful, front-line units will begin to have their HMMWVs replaced with the new vehicles as soon as possible. Payment for the test vehicl4es will be wired as soon as our order is confirmed.

Hey, could these things tow light 105mm artillary pieces, like a HMMVW can?
Soviet Bloc
24-12-2003, 04:22
Yeah. They have a replaceable-type hitch system with an over-under type (what you'd probably use for artillery), a signle slat with a hole (general purpose), and a ball-type hitch. Each can be insterted or exchanged for another...

I should probably add that, eh?
Soviet Bloc
24-12-2003, 04:28
There, I modified it. I added the hitch type system and it can effectively tow anything up to 3 tons in weight.

Another Issue, The Humvee offers protection from Small Arms...that thing has PLASTIC thin windows, The Crew Inside are asking to be killed. Cheap Yes, Fast Maybe, Armored well...no
Soviet Bloc
29-12-2003, 07:59
Again, the picture lies. Its actually got Grade III plexiglass, glass fiber reinforced windows capable of withstanding small arms fire and low-caliber machine gun fire (anything smaller than 7.62x51mm [.308 remington])... Its armor is rather exceptional on the appropriate models (hard sided models with doors and not a soft-side, recon model as shown) much like the HMMWV. Its armor layout for all hard-body versions (technically all versions of the MMPWV are hard-bodied, but doors and panels can be removed and replaced with canvas flaps when need arises) can defend against all small arms fire including 7.62x51 and 7.62x54mm size shells. With the SB-MAES system (which comes with the unit and may be added depending on customer preference but adds plenty of weight to the machine), it increases armor protection to effectively protect against rocket propelled grenades (Well, at least keep the crew alive and enhance survivability of the overall vehicle, keeping it functional).

And again, all of this can be changed by the customer, if they want they can add depleted uranium sheets to the MMPWV or 4-inch thick thread-reinforced glass to the window... (not exactly saying that these are exactly plausible or desirable)
