A new region has finally seen light, El Rocio. This mediterranean region is the home of the El Rocio sanctuary, where the virgin Mary once appeared to a lost hunter. Pinetrees and rosemary grow among the marshes, home of herons and flamingos. Famous is its every year pilgrimage to the white chapel where an ancient figure of a sheperd virgin lays. Each June devoted people from all the world travel to this quiet spot. While doing this "camino" people sing, dance, eat and drink but none as Carmina Ordoñez, living proud of El Rocio. 8)
