What, precisely, are the agreements of this alliance? Does it include a mutual defence clause? Some form of trade agreement, relaxation of visa restrictions between signatory nations, joint scientific endeavors?

The agreements are somewhat less complex. The premise is this: the Socialist alliance will vote in the UN and try to spread Socialist values throughout the world. The end.

P.S. Perhaps starting a region? I don't know yet.

Although the ANL is considered an "New York Times Democracy", we are technically an socialist nation. Private enterprise is illegal in the Democratic Socialist Union, Social Welfare is the sector that recives the most amount of money and plus, we are an UN member. However, I do not want to leave the West Pacific region for the time being.

So...what you're saying is that your goal is world domination? Oh okay I get it, you'll be watched more closely now.

The message clearly stated socialist VALUES, not socialist rule. The Commonwealth of Tayricht will gladly join this alliance provided it does not have a goal of aforementioned world domination or any other megalomaniacal plans.

I understand, men with black helicopters will come for our women. Okay, we're in perfect agreement and I'm not a fan. Have a nice day.
Having one nation a socialist state is bad enough let alone a world dominating alliance. It is necessary for citizens to work, believe it or not - social welfare won't advance a country, only push it towards an inevitable death.
As primary spokeperson the Tribal Countries of the Fushal region, I am authorized toi respond to this matter. In this matter I am speaking for just the Serene Republic of Tribal Gods. We are a peaceful New York Times Democracy. However, we hold social liberties and freedoms dearly. While we understand that people needs help, we endorse capitalism because it pays for welfare. Are we to be excluded? Why must we join the UN? Who would be the delegate of this supposed alliance? Wouldn't time be better spent by trying to pay for revolutions in other countries?
We are a small poor country, from a small poor region. We believe in helping our own and then helping the proletarian masses break free from the contraints placed upon by the aristocracy. However, you need money to do that. And money comes from capitalism. Who would pay for this alliance? Who would support our people while we are off fighting capitalism?

My nation thinks that is bullshit. You cannot be a peaceful socialist. If you work hard enough and get a good education you are rewarded with a good job and money. If you slack off you become a guy working in a factory or pushing minimum wage at Mcdonalds and then crying saying you are a mistreated hard worker. Socialist or communist are not peaceful. Why? Because if they see anyone richer than the social class they will make them give away their money. If they don't they will ALWAYS use force to take things away. Yeah that seems real peaceful to me
The Council of Socialist Economic and Military Security (CSEMS) is always looking for new members. Our HQ is located in the region Socialist Paradise, and you don't have to join the region to join the alliance.
We're big and powerful, and we have deep pockets and love giving money to Socialist nations smaller than ourselves.
Perhaps some of you would like to join?
I am saddened by the need to respond to the emissary from Khmer. Who provides the good education that prevents you from having to work in the factory? Only dumb people work in the factory? There are so many holes in your argument, I could fill the forum with replies. It is conservative propaganda like that makes me want to go socialist. If you read the statement, I was not advocating complete socialism. Also, Socialism is inherently peaceful. Only the warmongering capitalistic machines want to prodcue bodybags.
Don't push a rare moderate country.

[ooc: Methinks you fail to observe the line between OOC and IC... as well as the accepted forms of diplomatic communication. ]
The Socialist Commonwealth of Anhierarch is greatly amused at the incompetence, ignorance and ineptitude displayed by the representative of Khmers. Clearly, an eloquent statement on the deplorable condition of educational programmes in avowedly capitalist nations.
To any national leaders and representatives that doubt the economic integrity of a socialist nation, we hereby invite them to inspect the SCA. As one will observe, the economy is informally rated as 'All-Consuming', while maintaining a world-class standard of civil and political freedoms. At the same time, we detest war - and we understand that many of our ideological compatriots feel the same way, to the extent that many, indeed, are demilitarized and/or pacifistic. Like all sane people, we only consider war with greatest trepidation.

Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop.
Okay--let's straighten this out:
The goal is not world domination.
Socialist countries just need to have a better say in the UN.
Yes, NY Times Democracies are included.
You don't HAVE to join a region to join the alliance.
I am not a megalomaniac.
Now, let's get back to the topic of Socialist alliance. We must rethink the values. Aside from any role-playing activities, what do you want the alliance to do? How can we make a difference?

Humanitarian aid to suffering nations.

OOC: Well, I think this is flaming. Socialism and communism in it's pure form isn't supposed to be evil or imperialistic. No, it's supposed to be an pacifist, classless society that stands for social justice. While the examples the USSR gave certainly seem bad, again, in it's pure form, there is no "First among equals." Hey, listen up, CAPITALISM NEEDS WAR TO SURVIVE, CORPORATIONS GET RICH OFF THE WAR MACHINE.
That's just my two cents.
My nation thinks that is bullshit. <snip>
OOC: Flamebait...
IC:
Iuthia considering it's self slightly socialist and may concider supporting this alliance either politically or financially... though we doubt the UN's classification of "Libertarian Police State" would go down well in your alliance...
Eitherway we would like to support you in principal.
