OOC: I'm making this thread because I thought it would bring a nice little change to the forum. Also giving something intresting to read each day. Feel free to post any comments or critisicms, IC or OOC.

Har Land news breif:

"Hello and welcome to HNN, this is Lucy Chang, today in the news the group known as the Har Land Liberationists (HLL) attacked a Har Land Marine Corps outpost in northeastern Nogova. What went on there today Chuck?"

"Well Lucy, the HLL tried to do some serious damage to a HLMC (Har Land Marine Corps) outpost today. They attacked with infantry and supposedly some heavy armor. Oh, here comes Major Pazda, he should make a statment for us."

Standing infront of a podium the Major addresses the press:

"Today at approximately 1400 hours, the HLL tried to stage an attack on a HLMC outpost in northeast Nogova. Included in their attack were two peices of armor, and approximately 30 infantry. Everything is under control, and the HLL will pay dearly for their actions today"

Voice from the crowd: "Where there any casualties? How many!?"

"Two Marines were injured, as well as combat photographer Mike Johnston. All are going to make a full recovery, and the pictures taken by mike will be released to you soon."

A roar of questions come up, but the Major turns and walks off stage.

"Well there you have it, the HLL attacked, but thanks to the Marines quick thinking, no one was lost. Back to you Lucy"

"Thank you Chuck, and we are receiveing the photos now. And the president has issued a statement saying that no internation support is needed or wanted. That this is strictly a Har Land problem, and will be dealt with as such.

Har Land under reform!

"Hello and welcome to HNN. Today in the news, Har Land reform, is the government going too far too fast? Environmentalists up in arms with the newest uranium find."

"Hello, this is Lucy Chang, with me today is Bob Oak. First up, Har Land is undergoing some extreme reforms. After joining the UN some time ago, the nations economy was crippled by the laws imposed by the body of the UN. Thus consequently a withdraw from the UN was in order.

After this withdraw from the UN, Har Land's economy was fragile, at best. Civil and Political Rights we're decaying. Not much could be done about this. Until recently re-elected Matthew Harland brought some major reforms to the table. Mr. Harland began siding somewhat with business. Giving them more leway to create more jobs. At the same time allowed for people to be themselves, and voice their opinions on politics. More jobs, less taxes, and general freedoms have been up ever since his policies have taken effect. Har Land is now a region leader in things such as Insurance, Agriculture, Book publishing, and automobile manufacturing.

On the flip side to all the improvments, it's made some sacrifices to the country. And Bob Oak will explain that to us after the break"

Just last week, for the second time, Har Land congress authorized the mining of uranium. This will not only scar the Earth it is being mined from, but it is deforesting large areas of the rainforest..."

"I'm sorry to interupt, but wasn't the original proposal to mine the area going to deforest the entire area proposed? Congress stepped in and said that only smaller portions could be used as mine sites?"

"Yes, we were able to fight and win that not all the forest would be demolished. However, acres of area are needed for these mines. And to acquire the uranium, systems of tunnels must be dug underground. If a tunnel collapses, it takes the area above it, damaging the forest. And not to mention if there is a chemical spill of uranium, how much damage that could do"

Several nations from around Har Land are calling for an end to tariffs placed by Har Land government. They call it a step to towards peacful econimic growth, but Har Land officials call it doomsday for some HL industries."

"The automobile manufacturing companies need help", says CEO of Harmobiles, "other nations employ people for far less, only to sell their cars around the world. If our industry is not protected, it will fall to these people inducing slave labor."

Smiley McGriff: "Har Land officials say that tariffs will stay in place.

And now HL Marines launched a raid on the terrorist group known as the Har Land Liberationists. Four armored vehicles and various supplies were seized in the raid. Seargent Long, leader and pointman of the raid, made this statement:"

Sgt. - "It [The raid] went off without a hitch. The installation was lightly defended at the time of the raid. Four armored vehicles we're seized, as well as various small arms and explosives. All hostiles we're killed, however several documents were found about various things in the organization."

BREAKING NEWS!

"Hello this is Lucy Chang. Earlier this morning, the terrorist group HLL launched attacks across Har Land. Several lightly populated areas were taken over by hostile force and terrorists have dug in. No demands or casualty reports have been brought to this news station. Har Land military officials say this act will not be tolerated, and will have consequences the HLL may not wish to bear.

This attack comes in retaliation from yesterdays raid on an armor repair depot of the HLL's. And during this morning's press breifing, officials reported two strikes upon moving convoys of HLL forces. The forces were picked up apparently by documents found during the raid on the armor depot. Har Land military officials have released two photos of the air strikes."

"We will bring more information about the terrorists in the town. Reported so far is the town of Vindlakov has suffered a hostile takeover."

This has been a breaking news bulletin of the Har-Land News Network.

"This is Lucy Chang reporting for HNN. The hostage crisis has come to an end. Two small towns we're being held by terrorists, Vindlakov, a small port city, and Mala Ves, a small farming village.

Details are hazy, buy casualty reports are thus far fifty civilians dead, seven Har Land Marines dead, five injured. In total, fifty terrorists, and one T55 were killed and destroyed. As the terrorists realized the battle would not be won by their side, they burnt both towns. Sizeable portions of it are a charred mess.

"Thank you Lucy. This morning at about seven thirty a huge explosion occured to the south west of Lipany, at a Viki's gas station. The blaze has been brought under control but smoldering can be seen from all around. The gas station has been more or less obliterated, as well as several surrounding buildings. Six people are belived to be killed in the explosion. One of the bodys was propelled from the blast, and landed over one hundred feet away. Police have the area secured now, and everything should be brought back to normal within the day. Reconstruction of the area will procceed after that. Back to you Lucy"

"Hello and welcome to today's show on the Har-Land News Network, this is Lucy Chang with today's report.

As Christmas is coming, traditions around Nogova are show their faces. One in which is where small towns decorate trees outside their homes, and celebrate with gifts there the next day. Here is a photo of the town of Regina posing for us outside their small town.

Earlier today, a tall bearded man walked into the capitol building. He claimed to be a representative of the Har Land Liberationist group that has wreaked havoc across Har Land and neighboring countries containing Har Land troops.

According to reports, the tall man wanted to speak to Har Land officials. He was checked and cleared through. Behind closed doors, they worked out a Christmas Truce of sorts. According to the truce, the HLL will not cause any more attacks for the next few days, so long as Har Land Marines stop raiding their facilities. This is surely proof of goodwill, and maybe even an end to the war.


Allegations of a nuclear program have been brought to Har Land officials. Unconfirmed leaks have said that Har Land has been developing nuclear weapons for the past few years, and have made quite some progress. Along with that, reports of inter-continnental deliver systems are allegedly in development.

Har Land officials have made no comment on these reports when asked.

First in the news, we are happy to report that there have been no HLL attacks in the past few days. We are hoping for this peacefulness to continue.


Major crackdowns on illict drug dealers are happening all around Nogova. Everyone from the avergae marijuana dealer on the street to the big shots of the heroin industry are being zeroed in on. SWAT Teams along with Nogovan Police are staging "Fast Raids" onto known homes of dealers. They simply pull their cars up fast, and within seconds are on their way into the house. Lots of action has occured the the past few days, and the arms business is on the rise!

First off, in the a desert training area of the VII Har Land Armor Corps, reports got a rare look into a training mission. Most of the time, training is kept quiet from the public opinion. But all the armed forces have been flexing that muscle of theirs and taking some whacks at the HLL terrorist organization.

The Har Land Arms Corporation is growing more every day. Today it's stock went up seven points as it announced that it will continue development on the SR40 (http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/Harnu/nssr40small.jpg), HAR56 (http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/Harnu/har56-1.jpg), and HAR76 (http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/Harnu/har76-3.jpg). They say they will increase their ranges, reliability, and effectiveness.



Har Land government officials have begun setting up a meeting for certain "large scale" declassifications. The protestors in the capital seem to really have accomplished their goals.

Everyone is enjoying the spectacle of Har Land military might, although some have conerns about the recent tests.


The Har Land Motor Race is currently postponed due to bad weather conditions. Some people have no been able to get their vehicles to the track. And winter weather is hindering the racetrack.


The Uneasy peace with the HLL is still underway. Some recent small incidents have been blamed on the HLL, but HLL representatives deny it all.

New Breifs:

The government has increased restrictions on gun control, and sales are temporarily banned. Due to recent sales of illegal arms investigators need to focus directly on the problem before weapons can be put back in the hands of civilians.



Har Land's population has breached the five hundred million mark. But we have a lot of area to catch up to other nations, so Har Landians, get humping!



Har Land Arms Industry is announcing a new export storefront will be available within days. Congrats to them and their quality weapons.

It appears to be great times for Har Land. Local Business is up, international arms sales are up, everything it is on cloud nine!

First off, Har Land reached the population marker of five hundred million people just days ago. However, debates are still happening as wether to change a title for Har Land.

President Matthew Harland has indeed brought the nation out of the rut the United Nations placed it in. Har Land's economy is breaking through the roof and is now hitting a powerhouse marker. This puts it ahead of it's Protectorate of Harr. Civil Rights and Political Freedoms have been increased since several bills have been passed through the government.

Har Land has opened up largley to the international world as it begun it's first official storefront. All nations are encouraged to buy from it. It's based off Har Land's primary tactics of Infantry and support for it.

During the beginning of the Declassification project that is underway, Har Land officials have realeased information that Har Land has been working on Nuclear weapons and peaceful applications. Ret. Gen. Harold F. Sherwitz said that even though nuclear weapons are dangerous, they could one day prove essential to keeping Har Land's intrests and freedoms preserved.

Hours ago an explosion rocket Kamai City as an HLL carbomb went off in a commercial sector. The blast was powerful enough to knock out windows of buildings all around it.

"This is Slavka Recon, the damage report from last nights carbombing is in. Damage estimates are well into the thousands, if not reaching one hundred thousand dollars. Many windows in the surrounding area were shattered, and the building nearest the explosion had a good chunk of it missing. Most cars in the parking lot suffered damage, and twelve people were killed as a result of this. Fifty-eight injured.

Har Land Defense Administration is calling on the people's support to help each other during such attacks of terror from the Har Land Liberationist group, and are asking for support in any way to help capture the people with the HLL.

Night of the Damned (http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/Harnu/zs4-NS-1.gif) Took first place for most money grossed throughout it's stay on the silver screen, and down to the small screen. Raking in over 175 million in the theaters and just as much in movie sales, it wins 1st. Word is that Gus Simmons, director of Night of the Damned, is currently producing another movie. I sure hope its even better than Night of the Damned!


In economic news, Har Land has reached it's highest ecnomic point since... ever! Holding what the UN deems as a "frightening" economy for (NS) years now. Currently making it one of the most wealthy nations on the planet!

President Matthew Harland has helped achieve this strength through economic policies without severely damaging Civil Rights, or Political Freedoms. A feat not often done in some nations. Next on the list is to make Har Land a truly free, democratic, economic power of the world.



On the Military's side of things, Har Land Army Special Forces have been conducting raids on suspected HLL bases and holdouts. Most raids are occuring on the outskirts of Har Land and borders of protectorate nations. Har Land President Matthew Harland is encouraging all nations to play a part in fighting terrorists, foreign and domestic.
