Created to test high speed and maneuverability functions of the forward-swept wing deisgn and vector-direction engines, the first test piloting is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, at the First Annual Cronoerian Airshow. Amongst other planes as the A-10 II Thunderbolt and the F-18A Super Hornet, the S-37 prototype is going to be demonstrating its excellent maneuverability characteristics in front of a public crowd, likely foreshadowing its further development into a reconnaisance or attack aircraft. Whether the design or the plane itself is to be released into the national market is unclear, though Cronoeria is taking offers. The plane is currently unable to fit any weaponry, and no computer equipment within the plane is of any military nature. However, recent cutbacks in Cronoeria's current airforce offerings hint that a great push in spending to refit the CAF with military versions of this new fighter, in order to provide Cronoeria with a greater degree of air superiority, should it be required.

OOC: The engines are WAY overpowered. Currently the highest thrusting fighter engine is in the f-22 and it does 35,000lbs.

The S-37 is also nothing new to the NS world... several nations currently field operational variants of the design.

OOC:

The stats are not of my own devising, but instead taken from a website that seems to specialize in Soviet and Russian aircraft. Any inaccuracies are on their shoulders.

As for the S-37 being nothing new - I haven't seen it at all in any recent storefronts nor military actions. I assumed it was untaken as an advanced prototype air superiority fighter and decided to use it. I believe the old adage is, "there's nothing new under the sun." That certainly applies to NS, where ideas are recycled on a near-daily basis.

Interesting. I haven't seen any new developments on the S-37 in years, so I figured the project was either scrapped or had quietly gone into replanning. I guess I should've looked for a newer model.
