Earthquake Rocks Stevenburg
Dateline: December 21, 2003
A magnitude 5 earthquake rocked the city of Stevenburg today at 2:47 PM. Tremors destroyed the Stevenopolisburgton Federal Offices, amidst cheers from anti-government protestors, who are claiming responsibility for the quake.
In response to these claims, Mayor Lunsford said, "Stupid idiots."
Total damage is estimated at 3.5 million shoveits. Schools will be closed for repairs. The government is asking for disaster aid in coping with this tragedy, which has left 45 dead and many more injured.
Pwnica has wired 750 million dollars.

OOC: 5 would do nothing... or almost nothing. every number on the Richter scale is 10 times more powerful than the one below it. so a 7.5 is one tenth the power of an 8.5. a 5 would be one five thousandth as powerful as an 8.5... i think

New reports are rolling in from authorities. Contracters are saying that the structural integrity of the Federal Offices was at a low. Mayor Lunsford has planned a press conference for one o'clock today.
Citizens exclaim:
"I felt the earth shake, and I grabbed my daddy's hand. Then the floor broke beneath us and we both fell. It was scary." says little Elizabeth Faldweel, who was visiting the Federal Offices, where her father worked. The fall saved both their lives, as moments later the statue of Steven Fjordsen fell where they had stood.
"My car was bumpin', yo!" exclaims Djoray Jones. "I thought my hydraulics be off the hook, but it was that quake." JOnes was drivng down President Ave as the tremors roared though.
The people of Stevenopolisburgton thank the generosity of the countries Chancland, Pwnica, and the Doomsday Cult. We vow to repay you in whatever ways we can.

Except mine was far more powerful and destructive. Luckily it is now under control. I am sending 150 of the newly formed People's Earthquake Aid Organisation (PEAO) to help you in this catastrophe. Also I am wiring $35 million DD.

No problem. The aid workers from PEAO are professionals. I don't think you will be dissappointed by them. PEAO is also sending over some Dragonfly rescue choppers and an expirimental 'flying hospital', a massive tripple decker jet airplane staffed by professional doctors and rescue crews.
